If I die in a school shooting I'll never go home again. My room will sit unused, A capsule frozen in time, A snapshot of how I was. If I die in a school shooting I'll never see my dog again. She will sit at the front door Waiting for me and wondering, Why I never came home. If I die in a school shooting I'll never graduate from high school. My yearbooks will sit stacked Stopped short of their goal, Missing years that should have been. If I die in a school shooting I'll never see my mom again. She will sit distraught, Planning a funeral For a child taken from her. If I die in a school shooting I'll never see my friends again. They'll sit together, missing me. One empty seat among them, A constant reminder of their loss. If I die in a school shooting I'll never see my little sister again. She will sit through high school Knowing I can't guide her through, That she has to figure it out alone. If I die in a school shooting My school will be stained. Pools of students lives will sit, Blood tattoos on the brick structures, Marks of death ground into it. If I die in a school shooting Everyone will wear black. They'll send their thoughts and prayers To a town marred by death, Forever to be the home of a shooting. If I die in a school shooting Will the world change? Or will I become one of hundreds   Of kids who have to die? What will it take? If things continue this way Children will have to live in fear. They'll look over their shoulders Always worried and wondering, If they'll die in a school shooting.

The difference between actions and habits,      is often measured by the person you're asking.   One bump, one line, one half ounce . . . All shared by people you don't even give a **** about. These chemicals make me sick --               Limitless . . . Why quit?               When it's only ten bucks for a hit like this? Even Jesus Christ would have gotten addicted,               if drugs in his day were half this good. "Yeah, I'm smashed -- but I promise I can drive fine."       Walk and push the limits of a real fine line... If I don't **** myself, or someone else . . . I'm happy.        Stare death in his eyes, wink, and start laughing. Gasping as I swerve lanes -- Stay safe, get paid. Mundane daily. Living a-live . . . Eat. Sleep. Dream. Get laid.   Chase feelings.            *Please, just feel me now.                                     You know me, right?            Please, just feel me now.                                     You love me, right?* I want to melt with you -- let our souls collide . . . Dissolve the boundaries between students and teachers.         To bridge the gap in the great divide         No secrets between us -- bleed into the speakers. Feel the air in your chest, and ask God for a reason To stay or leave Him. He makes excuses . . .                                                     . . . Believe Him.

Our parents are always telling us , you have to go to school, that you'll learn everything you need to know before you're ready for the big world, and that'll you need it to get into your dream job But now a days our education isn't about learning, its about passing Our education now isn't the same as it used to be It teaches us that if you're not at a certain grade level, you will not succeed That if you don't meet a certain criteria, maybe you're not for fit the course This education system doesn't teach us whats really important for the big world It doesn't teach us how to live, how to do taxes or how to survive It never taught us the living expenses or how to buy a home Never taught us what to expect once we leave for college or how to balance our schedules No. It only taught us homework, about a plant cell, about tangents and circumferences It taught us that homework is more important than family That it's more important than being a kid and having a life It taught us that if you spend time with loved once and didn't do your work, you're setting yourself up for failure They pile us with work it feels like we cant breath They never once thought of the other class assignments that must be due not even 24 hours later They make us memorise things that will no longer be important when we apply for a job We study for hours in hopes to pass that final test that we'll soon forget But what are we suppose to say when someone asks us how we're feeling? We were never taught that We never memorised an equation to help us find the answer We were only ever taught to keep our mouths shut and do our work Its quite funny what we learn in school now Things more than 80% of the students will never have to use let alone see again School was suppose to prepare us for our future For the job choice we pick Instead we meet and learned quadratics and plant cells We were taught homework is what your focus should always be on We were never taught about the future and what to do And most importantly We were never taught how to love ourselves and the things we should be greatful for They've turn us into sad, mindless robots that's are more concerned about grades and passing than whats going on with the family We lock ourselves in our rooms doing homework for 6 hours than talking to our mothers or fathers who wonder about us We were never taught the importance of family before it was too late Every single highschool student wishes they can turn back the clocks, but it'll never work We were taught the hard way that you don't really know what you have until its gone Something we weren't prepared for They never prepared us for the future Instead, we prepare our self for the possible failing outcome How are we suppose to make a living for ourselves when all we have learned was the stress over homework and family? The depression over a failed test or assignment? The lost feeling of the lost time? How are we suppose to love ourselves when all we do is put yourself down because of school? This education system never prepared us for anything Instead, this education system officially has broken all of us.

Our Broken Education System
They didn't know what Diversity was... The kids, that is. Since the kids didn't know it, the teacher coined it as "“black” visibility". She wasn't sure if she could make that call so she nodded her head, looking for approval. The interviewer asked in what direction did the teacher see Diversity As if Diversity was a one-way street. Let me just refresh your memory... "“black” visibility" As if decades of progress in the schools were undone, The kids voted on Performances and Projects for “black” History Month. How shocking!... Kids of every shape, size, ability and race studying a time in history... Sounds racist to me. They wanted a Gospel Choir that is clearly only for “black” students Because I'm the student Director for the Fordham University's Rhythm of Praise Gospel Chior for the fourth year running... Maybe I'm missing something... MAYBE I'm “black”... Maybe if I close my eyes really tight... Nope, I'm still “white”. Olive brown perhaps? Only in the summer. Anyway, I digress like Sophia Patrilo from the Goldren Girls Who was Italian by the way. Just advertising for Diversity. Let's debate about "Music Debates" for a moment. Maybe you call it Debates because Hip Hop is debatable, and by the way only for “black” students. When I could argue for days upon days About how Reggaeton didn't come from Salsa but I know **** well that Salsa came first. The kids wanted to Stomp the Yard and battle it out. I do believe rap battles take place around the world And one of the best rappers I know is an English teacher in Harlem Whose hair is redder than a leprechaun. Talent Shows that showcase every student's ability Whether it be singing, dancing, performing their poetry, But still apparently that's not Diversity. Neither is an International Day Where International ways are celebrated. And finally, a Diversity Day, That clearly means diversity is separated. "They wanted a lot of things" Yeah. They asked for a whole lot... of everything BUT diversity. That's right, because they don't know what it means The Kids, that is... Then tell me please: Define Diversity. Is it seeing a “black” horse with “white” stripes Or a “white” horse with “black” stripes? Why is it between “black” and “white”? Why not between “white”, “black” brown, yellow, orange, brick red... Let's get it out of our head That teachers can't learn anything from their students, Because it sounds to me, Like they had a pretty good start to the meaning of Diversity. And if it turns out they didn't, That's what teachers are there for: Make a **** lesson about it.

over the past weeks a gentle autumn sun has painted colored leaves upon the ground and thinned the bright abundance of the wooded ranges most of the harvest is securely stored by now or sold at morning markets by weathered men and women in country garbs vintners are busy with their lots fermenting grapes and entertaining those who see their visit as pleasant pastime and escape from daily urban chores hunters and lumbermen are waking up to shoot and mark schools by this time have settled into the new year teachers are happy still to share the knowledge of our world with students still inclined to listen businessmen remembering their vacations on the Bahamas or in Saint Tropez step sprightly into offices womanned by secretaries dreaming secretly of beautiful Mallorca summers and of those never-ending nights on the Algarve I guess it is a human thing to find a new beginning and do best when nature’s breath goes easy to collect the strength for yet another fruitful year or were it better that we also took a rest?            * * *

Dear Future Wife, I know that it wasn’t easy going through the tides of life. It will never be easy. You might find yourself looking for someone who would fulfil the emptiness that you would feel inside. It is my strongest hope that you won’t entertain anyone who would try to take your heart. I would like you to focus on your studies at this point. I know that studying could sometimes be boring or somewhat hard, but I trust you with this one. You can do it. I’m writing this letter for a purpose. I would like to tell you some things before I marry you or before you become my girlfriend or even before I meet you. I would like to start this message by thanking you in advance. Thank you for choosing me out of the billions of men who are better and more handsome than me. I know that I never deserved somebody like you, and it’s kind of unfair for me because when we would be together, I know that we would look like beauty and the beast. You’d be beauty and I’d be beast. Thank you for the patience that you will have with me for the next 10 to 70 years. I appreciate how you would make me smile and laugh and even cry at times. It wouldn’t be hard to be with me, because I beat a girl in terms of emotions. Thank you for being faithful with me. I just want you to know that I would not look for anyone else but you. You’re the one I am praying for every night before I go to sleep and every morning before you get up from bed. It may not be my season yet to be in love. I promise you that I will wait. I will not rush anything with you. Forgive me if I wouldn’t give you flowers and chocolates for valentines while we are still students. I promise you that I will give you something more than that at the right time. I would reserve my hands for you, you and my mother will be the only women who would be able to grasp my very hands while walking. I would reserve myself for you. There would be lots of temptations, but beloved, I promise you that the only one who would control our relationship is God. It would not be easy being with me. It will never be. But I thank you for choosing me. Forgive me if I can’t be as handsome as the celebrities you watch in movies. I may not be handsome, but I promise to love you with all I am until my final breath. I’m Excited I’m excited to be your boyfriend and experience butterflies in my stomach whenever I’m with you. I’m excited to give you gifts every occasion. I’m excited to text you the words “I love you” every morning. I’m excited to see you walking on the altar. I’m excited to hear the words “You may kiss the bride” I’m excited to be your husband. I’m excited to forestall you in waking up just to cook for you. I’m excited to have dogs (we’ll name them Bacon and Goya) I’m excited to start a family with you. I’m excited to roam the world with you. But while our story is not yet clashing to each other in His book, my excitement would not stop me from waiting. I will wait for you. I promise. I love you. Your Future Husband

Heard a beeping sound Followed by A very old Frank Sinatra’s song My classmates’ heads turned Who’s phone? who’s phone? Less chaotic when the teacher glared Everybody put their heads down And checked their sophisticated mobile phones Once again... When the teacher wasn’t looking.. Mobile phones roamed in a dull classroom Updating facebook status, Uploading candid photos of a snoring friend Copy pasting assignment Text messaging and gossiping about their stern looking teacher In the name of advanced technology Mobile smartphones create the impossibles... Beyond the blackboard and the four walls of the classroom O o Frank Sinatra’s song again... And everybody started looking... The teacher grabbed her mobile phone Tried to switch it off.... When students could own smartphones.. Who needs NOKIA from the old time zone....? ~ Sharina~

My teacher’s cell phone
The gentle tone of her teaching, In wonderous melodies, orchestral knowledge from a sweet teacher, Education set by the awareness of harmonizing, delicate instruments, Wisdom and foresight, cast by no other judgement but of a conductor, Whomst hand leads to the ups and downs of the intensity, recognised Ensembling in the beauty of a sinfonietta, sounds flows uninterrupted Let the singing pendulum to your mistress's pleasure fall to the bottom, attached to the chipped illusionists mask of anticipation! To this dance the mascarade does not crack in the shadow of sound, A wise scholar would not sacrifice one topic relevant to learn to the passing time, to her students unfortune that is, cast in pure grief, A wise conductor does the same with musical notes, the story flows, With the moon high in the sky, time stands in her way, questioning her to dance with the devil amongst a distorted, whicked dark, But resillient to the end, tough and with no distraction taking her focus the director of this event finishes the creation of art, an orchestra A craftwoman of tempo and elegance always stands out after all, bringing the musical score to life. ~ Umi

Dissection for the Education of Students
To the teachers who never really cared and ignored my problems; To my fellow ***** “misfits”, etc. Who will no doubt receive more abuse upon my passing, as my tormentors will no longer have me to push around; To those who never cared, never spoke, probably never knew my name; To the one true friend, whose caring was the only thing that prevented this event from happening sooner; To the God, if he does exist, who chose to play a cruel, cruel joke on me when he placed me where he did and surrounded me with so many uncaring faces; What about my teachers? Will they be sorry to see another student become a statistic? Certainly the administration and Principal will mourn, as my death will not reflect well on them as an institution. Well, I apologize for making the statistics for your administration worse. But I don’t expect an apology for the false sympathies of people. As for my fellow students, those who made a more significant impact on my life, I know better than to expect my tormentors to mourn. There’s another group I have not yet addressed: those not like me who left me alone. Or should I say ignored me. I appreciate you sparing me any further harassment, but your inaction, your withheld hellos and how are you’s  did more hurt than any name calling. Your inaction effectively excluded me from student life, from the human race. You left me isolated and alone, and no words I could say can convey to you the suffering you caused. I could name names, but in doing so, I would do more now for you than you ever did for me in life. I do not know what awaits me when I get down off this rope. Will there be a void? Or will I come face to face with God? I just don’t care anymore. If you’re anything like your people, I wouldn’t want to know you. You preached to love one another, yet I’ve felt everything except love from Christians. Even if I knew you were different, well, I'd still reject you. You have left your “followers” to treat people like me poorly. You have allowed so many of the people you “love”, including me, to suffer. So you want me to trust you with my life? I don’t want to spend eternity with a careless deity like you, or with the company you keep. I’m trying to watch TV but I don’t know what I’m watching. It’s so lonely here. I want to sleep but it just won’t come. I’m so tired of hurting and being alone. I hope that with my death, there'll be a wider awareness for child abuse and the effects it could have on a person. That's the only wish I have right now. A lot of people will be hurt with my passing, disappointed even, or maybe it won't matter. But I'd like to believe, no matter how much of a ****** up person I am, I died for a cause greater and bigger than myself. That's the only consolation that I have right now. So that’s it. That’s me. Leaving the world to be a better place. Goodbye - T © Copyright Tyler Atherton

But I'd like to believe, no matter how much of a ****** up person I am, I died for a cause greater and bigger than myself. That's the only consolation that I have right now. So that’s it. That’s me. Leaving the world to be a better place. Goodbye - T © Copyright Tyler Atherton

Eyes glued to tiny screens, the thought of eye contact is faint, Words are limited. Silence is all you hear along with the shocks of the buses' wheels I look around, Eyes glued to tiny screens, plugged in, cookie cake in hand. What are they thinking?! A smile wouldn't hurt! What is beauty? The train whistles. Eyes glued to tiny screens, doors are open, people get on and off the bus. What journey are they on? What part of the day am I getting to share with them? A smile wouldn't hurt. It's funny how I teach my students that eye contact is very important. Am I setting them up for failure? I look around. It's like I am invisible. Eyes, glued, to tiny screens. I could probably sit here naked and no one would notice me. A smile wouldn't hurt. The breeze feels grand, but who am I to judge? Eyes glued to the screen. I am just as bad as one of them.

Disgust toward the police. Disgust toward the school system. Disgust toward the students. Disgust toward the government. Disgust toward the citizens. Disgust toward my family. Disgust toward myself. Disgust toward the ACT. Disgust toward state tests. Disgust toward society. Disgust toward impossible standards. Disgust toward the hypocritical people. Disgusted by the violence. Disgusted by the killing. Disgusted by the inequality. Disgust toward this nation. Disgusted by how we treat each other.

See, you hear this word and shiver While some of us get problems of the liver yup! Exams are what I'm talking about The reason pupils start howling about Oh exams! What do we do with you As it approaches, students be like A reaction no one ever seen like In our dreams like a monster sneaks up Within our soul like Death creaps up Oh exams! What do we do with you That one night before exam burden Reminds me of the war of verdun Only if had books borrowed or lend All night were the eyes to suspend Oh exams! What do we do with you That, to be murdered day arrived Of peaceful sleep were we deprived When the exam hall were we to enter Shot a bullet shrapnel in the center Dead were we when we turned the paper Those questions turned us into vapor Students like us had two or three attempted Handed over those 2 sheets and left all exempted Oh exams! What do we do with you You're welcome, now to hell with you

'Exams'
Clinking of ink bottles Scratching of quills Rustling of paper Pouring out knowledge Sweating students Angry teachers Swatting of fleas No more patience Old mad bat suddenly Shouting "Bring me the earmuffs!!" Laughing, crying, farting Interupting the quiteness "Why would you ask that?" Principal Harpy asks "Surely it isn't winter" "Goodness me, have I said that out aloud?" "I take it back!" "Kindly continue with your exams" But no matter, nothing was the same.

Today the Irish people witnessed an eclipse in their senses. The morning came over all queer.  Nobody noticed, except the king of bookworms in the book of Kells, and the mice in the Campanile.   I witnessed the eclipse from a windowless room on the 4th floor of the Arts block.  Edmund Spenser's poem, The Faerie Queene,  shall henceforth be named, *Long **** by jury of 5 English Lit. Students and a Lecturer.  Also, Sinn Fein plans to build Jerusalem in Ireland's green and pleasant land.   Lines written last night over a cup of sugary tea in a public house in North Dublin.

The 1999 Eclipse Turned me Queer, I swear it.
I'm told education is important And I agree But is school trying to make me stressed? I'm hearing about a 50 page assignment I'm already stressed I am told I am presenting something next week More stress What do they want? My best? I'm not at my best when I am stressed Many students like me would know Sorry miss I know I forgot that homework. I was stressed I am too stressed Yes I'll do it in the weekend When I'm supposed to be relaxing Free from the chains of school Yet somehow The chains are still there And they're stressing me even more

I always wondered why people judged others for their sexuality. Shouldn't love be just the words like "love is love". People should be able to express themselves thru words and actions. Sexuality is something others take for granted or even advantage of. If a guy comes out gay woman usually always say "the pretty boys are always the gay ones" or how men always come up to woman who are lesbian say "I can turn that girl straight in just one night". Or even hearing still to this day people are protesting on the street against gays and gay marriage. Today's society rather care bout brands, religion, race, and someone's sexuality rather than someone's cultural background and getting to know someone deep within. Teens who hide in the closet due to their families being against their sons or daughters for being gay become suicidal and the suicide percentages go up. People take deaths more serious than those who are a live and trying to make some of their selves. Rumors that are spread round by high school students bout someone's sexuality turns into harmful beatings, but the school system is too into themselves and care bout their job title rather than to take care of harassment and bullying. Celebrities who hide their sexuality then later come out are the talk of the town, then there is always that one person from paparazzi who screws with the news headline and puts lies into everyone in society and everyone believes what they see rather than to think outside the box that not everything they see online or TV is true. Parents who are gay are looked upon as to "who wears the pants" in the relationship, or "whose top", or even whose the "daddy or the mommy". Then the children who have gay parents become victims and are always assumed they are also gay too or just not normal in today's society. A lot of countries for example Russia abuses their laws against gays and soon enough fights and killings close to murders happen every minute of every second of every day. Even presidents in a lot of states and countries are against gays and try to pass laws made by the government which by then a lot more people hide behind closets. The world is more ******* up than people may think, if we just stick together and except people as they are then there would be equality.

The first suicide hit like a bullet BANG One of us dead, and at his own hand The tension in the hallways filed into the ears of all those who walked through its thick silence It was a struggle to move through the heavy weight of a quiet hallway People cried, whether they knew him or not Teachers made promises, “It’s worth it,” he said “I swear to you, it’s worth it.” A moment of silence for the boy who is no longer living, Whose hidden pain was known by none Whose family will never be the same Whose future which once was mystery, is nothing but imaginary The second suicide hit like a rock THUNK The hallways rang with growing confusion, At every turn, each whisper faded into the next in a mirage of sadness But mostly confusion Letters were handed out, but there was no time for more tears and speeches They had postponed the moment of silence for the girl who is no longer living, Whose hidden pain was known by none Whose family will never be the same Whose future which once was mystery, is nothing but imaginary The third suicide did not hit SWOOSH It was not silent anymore There was laughing and talking, as the excitement of yesterday’s football victory buzzed throughout noisy hallways The letters were passed out late and no one read them Teachers continued with their lesson plans Students continued with their joke making and picture taking Because people don’t have to keep caring after strike three There was no moment of silence for the boy who is no longer living Whose hidden pain was known by none Whose family will never be the same Whose future which once was mystery, is nothing but imaginary This is our dystopia

So lets get this straight: An armed, white man walks into a school, kills 17 students and teachers with a tool that can be bought at just any store by a 19 year old, insane, fool, before being caught, all on Valentine's day, Marking the 30th mass shooting just this year And it's not time to talk about gun control? If they had been black, you'd say "more police" If they had been Mexican, you'd say "build a wall" If they had been Middle-Eastern, you'd say "travel ban" But they're not, they're white, they're mentally ill, so "Report the disturbed" our president says "It's about mental health!" our congress says "But it's not time to talk about gun control" You send your thoughts and prayers, while we're pleading for your help You want to know my thoughts and prayers? I thought our country cared about us I thought our country loved us more than guns And I pray that my school won't be next That my friends won't be mourned on the internet That we might be safe in our unsafe unchanging world Because you won't talk about gun control But you know what? ***** you if you think that's all we're gonna do We're taking this horse by the reigns Knock some sense into that old brain We're organizing, rising up and wising up Taking a stand, and taking a walk Making our voices heard, better watch for that 10 o' clock We will not be complacent in our friends' deaths We've done it before and we will do it again They say "when we're older" I say "why wait till then" These laws are going to change now These deaths have got to be dwindling down Everyone knows kids can be one loud crowd And no, we won't calm down Until no one ignores our outraged sound We will make the politicians come around And finally, gun control will bring peace to our towns And finally, me, my family, and my friends, can feel safe, with long lives ahead, and we can go back to school together again.

Oh Generational gap, a cancer of to all mankind. The father of lack of communication between the young and the old. A difference brought about the tastes and values. The pain faced between young and aged but can’t be touched. It started by 1960’s the decades of revolutionary change. It cut across the world in values of *** religion and civil rights. The disease the emerged earned its self a name by social scientists. It then became “Generational Gap” I would love to quote a man of great thoughts, Alexis De Tocqueville, who commented that; “Among democratic nations, each generation is a new people” I have come to appreciate these words. When I walk down the streets noticing the rising incompatibility existing in our society Though I admire the old days when the old and young associated freely, working on the same farms Grandparents telling stories to their little ones; what a lovely society they had. With the invention of television and computers some families were bonded in communication While others live in agony especially the illiterate. The old desire different designs from the youth, whose trends change per living day of nakedness Young people prefer working in executive places like offices compared to the donkey farm work considered to be for the old Another cause of generational gap is decay in morals; the young people feel like they know everything and don’t like to be corrected thus taking information from old people as outdated, young people finding lots of hardships to great their elders In the field of music elders prefer oldies and more preferably educative songs, and as for the youths they delight in Hip-hop and dancehall, am sure those present here can testify to this a term with no disco dances makes us dull students. When it comes to religious issues, youth find it a burden to go to church and if they offer to go they prefer it to be in a club way. Praise and worship accompanied by jazz unlike the old days where drums are the centre of music. Cultures in this way have greatly faded away; the trend of western culture has flamed up the world. Drugs and *** are a hobby and celebrated amongst the youth, yet *** to the old was for companionship and co-creation. But when we came to medical technology we all applause in general, young or old there is easy treatment, use of scanners, and medical facilities cuts across.

When listen about date of exam Feelings got high and uncalm Being company of books inevitable Now condition of students deplorable Having pressure smacking clock fatuously Yawning and laziness offing continuously To see books again and again become petulant But thinking about exams it takes dissentiment! Due to exams sleep devoured Neither subject nor weather favoured Time ate to last morsel the pleasure And to do best alter one's nature Pretending today's work to next day Lastly purge to get something we have to pay!!
