"skintone" poems
New Year's Eve party. With the popular kids. That you don't know well. But your boyfriend's going, and you need to go too. (for a New Year's kiss, of course.) Your favorite pair of jeans because they are easy to dance in. Your best floral tank top because it's brand new (and it's cold out, so you can have an excuse to wear his jacket.) Coral blush because it looks good with your skintone. Purple eyeliner because it makes your eyes pop. And french manicure, (your very first one!) Done by your older sister, aided with scotch tape for the tips. (It makes your hands look pretty, and official, like your best friends mom.)

The Homemade Manicure
We, as future parents, must teach our kids that every person of every race, ethnicity, skintone, body size, ****** orientation, religion and outlook on life deserves to be loved. There is no choice.

No Choice
No, I am not perfect. I am far from being flawless. I have a lot of insecurities. I'm a walking mess. Don't get fooled with my fake confidence. Deep inside me is full consciousness. The bags under my eyes, my uneven skintone. I am afraid to show it all. People will talk behind me, everyone hates ugly. Don't get fooled with what you see outside, I am not perfect, i hope you understand.

Imperfections
on this sea of social turbulence skin dictates the price of the ticket rotating rainbows-no more whites red is distinct black is forbidden fruit cast into the ghettos of the decaying mind banished from the beauty of eden. why? we all came from a pinpoint in evolution in clusters we migrated to the corners of the globe seeking multi-verses of origin yet we create hierarchies of skintone. why? the gaps in our thinking are like holes in a doughnut spiraling galaxies of hate into whirlpools of ignorance.why? cast into the seed core is a colorless quantum of choice the difference -your destiny. think. © Marshall Gass. Castaway
This is for the introverted kid on his lonesome One of Lauryn Hills lost ones Eyes burning him down like acidic solvents Pressed down and sprayed at for low prices like cheap deodorants Ever-changing skintone from the haematomas Losing friends who he's been with the closest What's the point keep cards close to your chest if you're just gonna fold quick Council estates have turned into war camps Now the ends are looking like Colditz I guess that'd explain why everyone in the bits is speaking Polish Youths are hiding in alleyways gripping knives that are stolen With a razor sharp focus Aligning the moment then he zones in An act of violence turns to a condolence Flowers and roses A single mothers heart is broken Shattered and open Tears stream that could fill an ocean The kid was sacrificed and cut inside like Kingsley Coman Underhand tactics used like sneaky trojans It was for the kid I bet you The ambience started hard but went soft like fresh fruits Just be careful and keep those that respect you.
