Disappearing Ink Thoughts:

"Nothing that involves the love of an honorable man"

~~~
One checks in
with the periodicity of
semi-regularity,
a
how ya doing?
sent off by mounted Messenger
to:
good friends,
fellow poets,
former lovers
yes,
it can be
either,
both,
and
even
one and the same...
her reply arrives -
"I am fabulous"
you twinge
with curiosity and whimsical,
mortal fantastical,
creaking regret
for it's from the one
you didn't keep closer
but
so easy was it,
it well might have been a
been
disappearing ink thoughts
start to pen themselves,
on both sides now
of your
two-sided containment chambers
of the heart
does it mean
she's found
another lover?
so you
dancingly
not-so-innocently,
add-on a moonshot probe,
a reply comes...
"nothing
that involves the love of
an honorable man"
are you so obvious,
you groan, forehead smack,
is everything that lies
between your simplistic but
not-so-cunning lines
so easy apparent,
in this game of
liar's poker?
disappearing ink thoughts
start to pen themselves
on both sides now of your
two-sided containment chambers
of the heart
a mixed bag evoking,
a whizzing admixture of
guilty and sad,
fond memories,
sutured together
by alternating slews of
"what ifs" and "what is"
maddening, your mad imbalances
the heart is divided-
left and right
what you have
left
behind,
the seen and the unknown
what you have checked off as
rightly acts of both
rare and well done,
simultaneously
and
you separate the darks
from the lights,
as you subdivide
this conflicted
second-place-derived
"honorable mention,'
the complimentary multiplicity,
of a most pleasant
yet withering assassination,
winning by losing,
by being called
an honorable man
something makes one uncomfortable,
as you write/lay this
epistle *** elegy down
when you are up,
beside your truly
"love the one you're with"
leaving one unsure of where to place
this particular, peculiar,
inscription
are you left or right
sided here?
hard pressed
to uncover honor here,
as shameful, don't-go-there's,
reddens the face
in a darkened
bedroom
but
there is some
softener within
all this disappearing ink
recalling that you knew yourself
well enough,
to give up,
when to walk away
so rightly so,
when you heart knew
what wasn't left,
wasn't just quite
meant
to be
ship-righted
meaning
fair superseeded implanted desire,
and you
left-leaving, left-leaning,
on
the right stuff
here you sign off,
almost forgiving certain sins
so flawed for being so
human,
such as contemplating,
the wonder of wonderment,
the fragility of frailty,
the knowing of never
perfectly knowing
Somewhere over the
human landscape
she asked for
a birthday calendar
simplistic in design
quite endearing
nonetheless
to collate
each and every
important date
mark them down
in her neatest
clearest handwriting
she thought that
if she hung it
in pride of place
on the wall
by the kitchen door
her eye would
be drawn to it
each time
she left the room
she would not
forget to send
the appropriate message
of congratulations
and many happy returns
when needed
     or expected;
although
the calendar may
coincidentally
be showing
the correct month
it has remained
on that page
untouched
     ignored or
     unheeded
for the past
eleven months
So, what do you think about the dynasty of Babylon? Freshly cut potatoes which are deep fried can be displayed upon colorful plastic plates, which may trigger a spiritual sustenance of simplistic expectations which are immersed in Glaswegian nostalgia.
Therefore, I contemplate the goddess of the moon, as she is enthroned in Celtic tenements of astral plains.
Entrance-ways are characterised by the musky scent of the tomcat, whilst the purring sounds of diesel locomotives echo along the tracks of mischievous linearity.
So, although I acknowledge Osiris to be the Egyptian god of the dead, I am tentatively perplexed about Northern and Southern boundaries of grandparental occupation. Shake those sensual vessels of salt and vinegar. Do you know why? Because there’s nothing like it in the cosmos.
Scuffed case.
Paired and synced.
Simple, easy.
Simplistic beauty.
Music plays.
Audio flowing.
Eardrums tremble.
Heartbeat flowing.
Time slowing.
Soul escaping.
Joy replacing.
One last chance, one last page to tell you how things stand.
More than anything else
I am thankful for all that time together, it was well spent.
Still I wish you could just stay and hold my hand
Until the world calls;
And then just tell it we will need more time lent.
If this somehow works, I want to be with you more,
Let everyone know.
'I will give you everything if only you will have me.'
Don't worry about what's on the other side of that door,
It will come in time.
Right now I must try to make you see all that we could be.
I first met you in the woods, that trip was sublime,
How blessed is nature!
You knew what you were about, it showed.
I learned that you too liked to hike, commune, and climb.
You seemed ethereal.
My appreciation of you, from there, never slowed.
It started that first night you came over here,
I was told we seemed
To go well together. I said you were taken, no hope.
Then I started to think on it. Things became less clear.
We grew close.
And the we had that talk, which made the slippery *****.
The release of our tension was an avalanche cascade:
Beautiful and terrifying.
You said you wanted to get to know me better,
Everything then made me so afraid,
But I spoke.
You know now who I am, word and letter.
I can't say that I know you though, always hesitant,
Holding back.
Afraid of pain, and no one could put you at fault.
Bu your recklessness is almost militant!
Different lifestyles,
So hard to mix, your heart behind a steel vault.
You are the Turks to my Constantinopilian walls,
The first to make it in,
To destroy all defenses, break your way to the heart.
I guess the walls must be rebuilt, the buildings and halls,
To store the secrets,
And hide the shattered parts.
One gate will always be open to you, if you need.
We did too much
For me to lock you out, I can merely run for a bit.
I don't know enough to take the lead,
Is that the problem?
Should I take what I have and run with it?
'If you love something give it away...'
I don't want to!
But if that is the way of the world
There is really nothing I can say.
This ship is adrift
My sails are open, completely unfurled...
But right now there is no gust--no breeze-- no wind--
I am stuck.
Is this a curse? Did I shoot my albatross?
I would take you out, but I have no money left to spend!
Would you if I could?
Confound it, more empirical data. This is my loss.
I am nearing the end now, almost done,
A bit left to say.
I just don't want to miss anything of import.
You understand don't you? You needn't run,
It's nearly your turn!
Then I'll see if I come up short.
I can feel it inside, deep down, the answer to what I asked.
he dull grey hour
Here and full of excitement! Oh the hazards of love...
They open up, in front and behind, so cast,
I knew it all the while.
I'm excited, in a strange way, kind of.
Perhaps now the sleepless nights can end?
It's 4 o'clock again.
I have work in 5 hours, but sleep won't come.
It never comes when needed, nor does it pretend.
Trust, can I trust you?
That's unfair, isn't it? It's just me that is a slum.
The question, in case you forgot, is rather simplistic,
Yet infinitely complex!
One of those with which you expect a cacophony
In answer. But to be realistic,
There is but one word,
or a few. No long and dreary monophony.
So, Alexandra, will you be mine?
And I yours?
The two of us alone, exclusive, loyal, and trustworthy.
"No"
Take me away from Here.
Bring me to a soccer field at 11 pm
To look to the purple haze
and the holes that are poked through
revealing the starkness of the cosmos.
Take me away from Here.
Run away from the salesman in the mall
who follows us with perfume samples
and indulge in the poorly made Chinese food
that we always eat by the pint.
Take me away from Here.
Let’s go to the ocean
and ache over it’s vastness
while I embrace the burning of the ground and sky,
and squander my thoughts by plunging under the waves.
Take me away from Here.
To cities and museums
Where we can pretend we’re in a movie,
and breathe in the images
of the titans of stone before us.
Take me away from Here.
To a campfire in some classmate’s backyard,
Where the purple haze is above us again,
The cosmos poking through,
And I feel the presence of freedom
Some people say I'm crazy
Others think I'm shady
When they try to picture my face
It gets a little hazy
But that's me,
Unseen and unnoticed
Unless I actually try
I get by with my coldness
Shadows and ice
I strike a match and fire's my prize
Just staring at a flame
Can make me realise
The simple things in life
Contain the most beauty
And it's the simple things in life that make
The supposed building blocks of you and me
Yet words are complex, often used to reject
Spat forth with no thinking, every day is a test
There's little beauty in words, when they are said with such venom
And the rate that they spit forth, you know how well it's selling
Black market the poison and it drips from the tongue
Spittle off the lips and small words make you dumb
Just remember the simplest things in life, like roses, have all the beauty
So every time I look inside I see a rose within me
But it has thorns too, and catches at my heart
The simple thing that is my life tries to rip itself apart
Torn by events and pretence I can't defend
Against such an attack, so successful when it won't end
Ending life is an option, don't forget it
But it's also a path full of darkness, I'm not pretending
I glared down that path at least a hundred times over
In my mind, on repeat, worth nothing to no-one
And I deny my sadness existence because it doesn't belong
In a world from a crazy, shady person because it's wrong
But keep in mind, all the time, that beauty remains plain
And it's the simple things in life that stop us going insane
Ariel Knowels Jan 2015
Countless times have people asked,
Why are we here?
And still
the universe refuses to answer,
never acknowledging the simplistic question
being shouted from tiny voices.
People pray to know
what their purpose is or if there is a purpose.
Demanding an answer to the misfortune that happens.
But the universe stares coldly at the world,
never uttering a single sound.
And why should it?
Why should such a grandiose power
answer people who will die in the blink of an eye
to never change or influence the course of life
and yet people continue to shout
asking and demanding for an answer or a sign.
Nothing changes and the world continues to spin.
The universe continues creating without reason.
Spawning life from the palm of its hand.
The Napkin Poet Dec 2016
I'd rather be a raisin than a grape
With no juice or sweetness
Desolate of hydration
Dried via sun
Wrinkled and battered
Has endured strife
Became bitter over time
But I'd rather be wine than a raisin
Potent and strong
Powerful in simplistic form
Living only to intoxicate those who consume me
For so naturally time absorbs life
Making one **** with age
Dry from existence
Then robust through struggle
I'd rather be a raisin than a grape, but I'd rather be wine than a raisin.
Aye Aye
(Poetry is the Adhesive of Our Lives)
6:33 am
for Joe*
once again,
in a strange bed,
in a strange city,
left a cold snowed city climate
debtor-in-possession,
owner of a carryover question
of yours,
what was a
winter prior posing,
is now a plane plain ride over
have coming with me
awaking,
by a sun provoking,
the answer,
now strange composing
in a visually warm city where
beautiful tanned bodies
are mined in beach sand
and
this,
my answer,
it too,
mine,
it too
being mined,
subconsciously working, coming,
f o r m I n g
in my always busy,
overthinking,
daily nighttime shift of
repositioning from a
dark night ended reposing,
into a
sunny day answer deposing
t'is a tricky one,
when one poet asks another
straight out,
after the the fashion of the day,
of my poetry,
whattaya think,
whattaya know...
about
my very own
words,
this communal place,
HP,
an open bed,
where we lie down with strangers,
where we lay down our words,
wake up lovers,
or worse,
ignored,
wake up encouraged,
(can one make hallelujah a verb?)
or refuted,
disputed by
the either/or
ignorant silence of the masses,
of what's truly good,
or sunk
under reedy rushes of swamping
despair,
at the ignorant adulation of the
endless trite, puerile
not one
for shooting from the
hip,
on a subject so
delicate,
that my paused,
slow mo response,
to you,
of course,
misunderstood,
as a red badge of no courage,
a refusal to answer
in this demanding age of
virtual, instantaneous any and every
stray dog thought
multiple shades of a Miami sunrise,
burnt oranges and Van Gogh blues,
frosted strawberry internal pink toppings,
whitish cream cappuccino streaks,
makes one wonder about the
creative design team that brought us the
universe and this all over
sunrise,
all natural, organic visual breakfast
that comes to remind me that
your answer,
you...
for all of us,
in our lives
there is always poetry infused,
there for the seeing,
and
for some,
even
adhering to our
private places
for you, Joe,
there is always poetry,
in this work,
is the continuous process,
self-recreating,
and this sir,
aye, aye, sir,
this one writ,
hopefully a satisfactory answer,
perhaps...
one of resolution,
of adhesion,
silicon bonded
for such is the nature of
this particular Joe,
an inquiring soul,
a nurtured one,
another poetry-partial-birth
child of mine,
born on-line
so,
requiring special handling when
creating, crafting,
******* lines of my presumptuous presumptive
"expertise"
in all matters that
our emotional heart
is the make-up-the-rules-as-you-go
rulemaker
thus,
peril,
fraught, and
simplistic excessive
frugality of word/feelings,
dangerous and inappropriate...
I loke (love + like)^
your poetry fine
the slow revolution of the screws
of growth so readily apparent...
But,
always,
a but,
my demands upon you,
so great,
the expectations of expectations,
greater for you than I dare share,
only since your quest
is my bequest
so shockingly that you dare
directly request
herein,
asked and answer attempted,
yet the risks are I lighthouse beacon
angle too high,
becoming too troublesome,
an Excedrin headache
You don't see,
You don't comprehend,
the way I do,
how far you have come,
your train,
upon which
I am a windowed, winnowed,
passenger,
a pseudo parent
in Loco (crazed) HP Parentis
so it breaks my heaVy heart,
that I want burdensome you better,
so much better...
Oh Toolmaker!
from your
as of yet
swelling unrealized
r e a l
blood sweat and
tears
I want to be forced
by you
to shed my own
tears,
gasp, intake my own
bloodied breath,
sweat when reading yours...
hopelessly selfish,
wholly unsatisfied...
I want
your refreshed wit  born in
Whitman
winters
tales of your Connecticut icy hot
Frost
should lay me low by new poems as good as
Lowell's
tease me, seek me
let me beg,
make me yours,
like Sara Teasdale's
"I Am Not
Yours"
I will you!
will you be,
recreate anew
William Carlos Williams
make me gnash my teeth
when you limerick like my first hero
Ogden Nash
moor my heart like
Marianne Moore
be a new American Master
of this awesome trade,
accepting of this modest tirade,
make new tools still invisible
that will become
more powerful than
any man's hand
can mechanical design...
most of all force me to
reside inside your adoms
locked in my soul's firmament,
until you have fashioned me
into
an obedient tool,
forcing me,
to weep my own
r e a l
blood sweat and
tears
that your words
backhoe excavate
from their hidden places
be mine own
GI Joe
poet~hero
hopefully,
this answers your question,
what I think
of your poetry voyage
to levels of heaven
you are yet
unacquainted
looking forward to an
aspiring spring,
a robust salute of
Aye, Aye,
for I  have fixed the spot in the sky
with the adhesive will keep your star aloft
tween you
and the rest of us
plodders
but now be bounded to lift
us to
unbounded highs
on the wings of the highest
expectations*
of all of us who
admire your journey so...
will not e v e r be satisfied,
until
you exceed,
you succeed,
until
we are such
so sated, so satisfied...
that we see the music,
dance to the words,
in places where the silence
of listening
is the greyest gift
one can give...
Of course, I  just happened to hear Christine Ebersole sing this tonight...
It seems like happiness is just a thing called Joe
He's got a smile that makes the lilacs want to grow
He's got a way that makes the angels heave a sigh
When they know, little Joe's passin' by
Sometimes the cabin's gloomy and the table's bare
But then he'll kiss me and it's Christmas everywhere
Trouble's fly away and life is easy go
Does he love me good, that's all I need to know
Seems like happiness is just a thing called Joe
Sometimes the cabin's gloomy and the table's bare
But then he'll kiss me and it's Christmas everywhere
Trouble's fly away and life is easy go
Does he love me good, that's all I need to know
Seems like happiness is just a thing called Joe
Little Joe, my little Joe, little Joe
Is from the September equinox to the December solstice
Where you fell into the story was what mattered to me I looked on your beauty I saw you were in the
Autumn of life rustic adventure played an overture of mellow that softly blows the soul colored with
Delighted hues of gold red and orange these colors bespeak the whitened snow that lies in the offing
That tingling chill that so greatly advocates wonder of stillness but now it is the window view of a world
That is enthralling an excitement portrayed by loss that buzzes with excitement to be curtailed then to
Find the true fountain of youth a time of hardness elemental profound sterility a forest denuded in its
Own way it drags the eyes to this skyward enchanted starkness spikenard oil for the mind and emotions
It will halt and fascinate this alone would put disagreeable thoughts on hold it reverberates a quiet
Lustiness forms and ushers one into majestic simplistic appreciation of emptiness punctuated by the
Bizarre show that trees perform when they seemingly accuse the sky with bare limbs and stand in a
Gaunt stage one could read the story of doubt and faith reason and all visible means of perception says
All is lost but the unfailing grace that is locked in the heart of nature will be rewarded and with great
Proofs it never fails to succeed we to should hold fast when all evidence flees and we to are left alone
And barren this is of a truth your time and mine of new beginnings what little price to pay for the
Opportunity to unlock such rewards the same as when the trees start to bud the rich foliage comforts
And soothes the earth below and then doctors and mends the wind by photosynthesis purifying
Impurities keeping the whole environment healthy so if you are sidelined by this or that problem
Don’t be in too big of a hurry to lose hope and become frustrated look on the seasons believe and
Realize your having an autumn interlude and soon you will be a certain health and reward to your
Family and community yes at first I too was upset thinking of you in disagreeable circumstances but then
I was allowed to see your life not being affected by unruly means on the contrary you were being
Reshaped being given fuller leeway so many pluses that counter negatives that are a reality but the
Greatest Unseen hand works vigorously without fail to enrich empower by the lives of friends by this
Means the world is incorporated with values and trusts that bring rich harvests they surprise with
Wonderful Additions clouds and blue sky the vesture of the sweet earth that we as uncommon flowers
Permeate with scents that hold us all spellbound
Abi Sweeney Apr 2014
Water flows endlessly,
I only wish I had such a simple life.
Derek Yohn Oct 2013
i remember vaguely those times,
when solitary leaves drifted
downward, greenish earth tone
children, laughing as they twisted
and curled through the air,
touching nothing and touched by nothing
until finally resting on the floor of
the forest, together at last, forming
loose beds of disbelief only to
lie in stupor for being at the bottom
and not on high where they began.
The wind saves some of them from
their true demise, rustling many
and moving a few back up again
to freedom.  Those chosen few become
the one, traveling together upward
in natural harmony as the lovebirds
of flora that forsake all  but the other.
Such simplistic beauty brings tears to
the eyes to know that it began
with such sadness.
31 | 31 Poems for August
(Written with Naledi Tshikota)
Write me a sonnet, point dozens of Cupid’s arrows to my heart if you dare to awaken it.
Tune into your inner Shakespeare, fantasize us as Bonnie and Clyde if you care to spend time in it.
Recreate the Titanic, recreate it with the ending of The Notebook if you can bear to believe in it.
And if that doesn’t work, cast me to sleep like the Romeo you are and let me awake next to your lifeless flesh and dagger as I pierce my soul with it.
Write me a sonnet, let every single one of those fourteen lines bleed with emotion.
Leave The Notebook next to my notebook and become the protagonist of my dreams.
Think like the wind and attain the kind of power that’ll allow you to ******* away on any given day.
Your presence keeps transforming our thoughts into beautiful poetic paintings, Basquiat and Picasso would’ve been proud.
Write me a sonnet, silence every impurity that does awaken my love.
Summon the essence of my soul for the taking of your unforsaken hands and make Mona Lisa cry sacred tears of joy.
Create simplistic glimpses that only our superior beings can understand, only then can I unleash my undying emotion towards your uncontested universe.
Write me a sonnet, the kind that will make me realise that your heart isn’t filled with any doubt.
The day I realised that words could touch you, I wanted to become a poem.
The kind of poem that Maya Angelou’s ink always dreamt about.
The taste of your smile still lingers on the edges of my lips.
I see galaxies in your eyes, it must be in the way I love you like I do.
I could’ve settled for less but I don’t want anyone else but you.
Write me a sonnet that speaks to the heart of my mind.
Because I always hear your heartbeat when I think about you.
Write me a sonnet that intertwines our inner intuitions.
A sonnet that makes you believe in shooting stars if you’re into wishing.
And finally that captures the very essence of the unknown soul that’s unspoken of.
Because it’s within your golden silence that I hear the loudest cry.
You can call this nothing but childish poetry if you want/
Because I say this with complete honesty/
Your opinions mean nothing to me/
Looking for the reason behind the why I find in every line of mine/
Without any doubt this empty is me when I'm in my honesty/
There is no lie for you to see when it's all the same thing as what's hidden inside this poetry/
I will say so what if you don't understand these words I write/
I don't care if you can read this pens bite/
Still as oil are these words the paper snow covered drifts white/
The reason my sanity has yet to flee/
Even though everyday I'm looking at this knife as if to find this mercy/
As I'm constantly bordering conformity of this eventual reality/
Lost in my own insanity/
As I'm individually ment to be mentally segregated/
To keep steadily the steady loss of a sane mentality/
As I kept barely shackled separately separate from my misery these memories/
When I deserve every memory intentionally given to me personally/
Specially those made to cause me pain inside intentionally attacking my happiness/
So I'll be honest/
To those the ones who sent them so they can dry the rain with a wipe to clear their eyes/
I apologise/
I'm like Dr.Jekyll holding on desperately to hide the Mr.Hide hidden inside/
With memories of the psychologically unsteady/
Symmetrically simplistic in this coloured poetry thats making up my reality/
Losing myself in some fantasy/
A chemical chemistry of evolutionary perplexities/
Changing the mentalities of the socially closed personalities/
The ones who are misunderstanding me and what's behind this poetry/
When there's so much more then this man and the fact he's lonely/
These poems being what I feel each night/
Why I'm able to continue to write/
Making these words rhyme to fight off these thoughts of some suicide/
Making up poems line after line/
The only thing that makes me feel fine/
It's what keeps me from completely losing my mind during these moments anxiety sneaks up from behind/
So I'm suddenly overwhelmed  emotionally/
It's as if your falling apart and there's no one there that cares/
No one to make it stop but plenty in the part that's pressed to start/
Most days there's nobody to listen when your not sure if your life is worth living/
Sometimes the pain is so deep your needing something to numb every bit of what your feeling/
Now posted on this line paper that's been red dyed/
Maybe the hurt this time someone will see and finally take my words to heart/
Why the ink cord around my throat is still wet/
An the rest of it's spent on this borrowed piece of parchment/
A page from this mental thought process that's afflicted by the emotionally hopeless/
Constantly dancing with manikins of a manic drug addict/
With cut wrist to remind him that weak thoughts need to become nothing but static/
Keeping my mind distracted/
What secrets are you keeping in the attic/
I'm escaping into a straight jacket fearing my own love as the tragic/
When I've finally had it/
My heart I'll bury deep be it lock set with the sunset/
Secret is, the artist is ment to escape within the ink stain that's set/
This is that moment for me be it I'm now word spent so I went while the paint was still wet/
ah, didn't you know..
powerful imagery better weaves itself
through a simplistic tale of truth
rather than in some poem boasting
                  grandiosity
you know, full of Harvard-taught words
      and, quite honestly, empty
                                                    meanings
Your the voice that many of us wish we could have..in your inner simplistic sense you evoke a revolution that is charged with a timeless gift of love. Standing further as a beacon of light to a hurting world in need of creative arts. Never relent to give up on the fight stand tall & smile !
We all could write poetry if we wish the truth is we just chose not to.
Many have a judge mental spirit that kills creativity in the arts.
Hearts must take heed to the real call of love to light the inner spark of what they are truly waiting for.
Face it, rejection is very common in the poets life but don't let that deter you in living up to your fullest potential.
There are those whop constantly look to the mistakes that other poets make & they rub it in your face for it.
Now is the time to relax & enjoy yourself in the arts & share the beauty of your latest creation to the mass populace.
We are like an inverted bike tire.  Our focus is exernal, yet the meat of us, the essence of us, and our true persona lies on the inside.  When we finally stop running from ourselves in the myriad ways in which we do (alcohol, drugs, ***, shopping, TV, lying, for example), we come to see ourselves as frightened and lonely children that only wish to be loved.  We feel this lack tremendously and we do everything we can to escape the helplessness and rejection.  As children, it is difficult to source our love and security from ourselves.  We don't know HOW to love.  Learning how to love is precisely so; a skill-set and behavior that we emulate and grow to understand. Therefore, it is very hard to self-soothe as children because we lack the experience and the skill.  However, as adults, if we've learned from our broken hearts and dissapointments, most of us have learned how to comfort ourselves, even if that is with eleven shots of tequilla. What we hide from is finding the love we seek from within ourselves.  How do you DO that?  Well, there's the mirror exercise: look at yourself in the mirror naked and say repetitively, "I love myself", with the hopes that one grand day, you will.  Sorry folks, that's too simplistic for many.  I'm not suggesting a solution to the struggle of learning to love yourself, you just have to organically create it from trial and error. And eventually you will discover your unique way of truly being there for yourself.  What helps me is I imagine myself as a child comforting myself with a hug or a pat on the back while I am sad as an adult.  It's nothing major, but it really DOES help me!  We all can find our own ways.  If you find that you run from your pain and seek consummation within the love of your own heart, stop seeking outside of yourself for that wholeness, that completion.  Instead, give yourself the warmest, most caring hug you can imagine and see how you feel.
This is not a poem, but I felt the need to share it. :-)
winter's after-the-noon shadow lights,
fused-tinged with early-onset grays,
harbinger of one for whom death
detaches the answer from that question
too soon asked, so long unanswered,
why me?
those gray lights, a violin accompaniment,
mourning pitched wailings unasked for,
yet always in attendance, court courtiers,
feelings of insufficiency, angry angst insects
envy days when simplistic unknown fears
were the worst enemy, never lingering,
for unknowns have no answers and
cannot obtain permanent resident visas
but reality, another matter, mad hatter,
asking repeating what is this, why is this,
even comprehension partial gives
no comforting answer satisfactory logical
envy innocence past, for newer questions now *****,
comfort by the lies in the essaying, trialling,
if, but, for, the distractions most affordable,
so grasp the pen that is the envy of thy companions
let the ink wail louder than you,
make paper shed what you have used up,
let envy of lost and found, found, yet still lost,
salve, but not solve, soothe, but not save
in the winter afternoons, those shortest days
of indeterminable longevity, words received,
offer little, but words self-conscripted,
a mortal transcript of pain immortalized by pen, relief will yet be,
for the pen is the envy of all
Once you are what you once set out to become? Who will you be?
Christmas isn't just your ordinary holiday... For one thing (personally speaking), it's my MOST favorite! (If you haven't guessed already....)
However, Christmas isn't just about the regular attire that you "wear" (upon your own 'body language' that tames such a 'posture' towards the gimmick of which language you speak...or even what ethnicity you may have been born as).
My point towards Christmas, is not the regular tradition towards both it's meanings or properties... But what it takes too truly celebrate this MOST "prosperous" and VERY "EXOTIC" holiday itself!
And what I'm (seemingly) going too 'endorse'...is the logic of how you want too celebrate such a holiday to begin with. Because when it comes too "Christmas" nothing is more giving then having family who cares for you. And who you care about in "natural" return. (Because what you give back in return, could give you a message that you've been simply waiting for... ALL YOU LIFE!!!) That being said, if you don't have any such person on Christmas to celebrate with... Don't feel that you have "failed" your own heart at the center of your very being. Because your MORE at such a calmful "rest"...than you know. And it's because whoever you might be, or wherever you come from... Remember to stay true too your own self. And the universe will exchange that very behavior (the way you act...into a mere "signal"). A signal that would more than EVER...turn the very tide that either RICHOCHETS off certain energy signatures that RIPPLE that very frequency towards (that very attitude your very heart simply gives off). Simply put it, when you "wish/wishing upon the blessing of single plea"! That's where the very truest spirt of Christmas comes straight into the fold! Something that truly "basics" itself ALL THE LIVE LONG DAY!
And when this very wishing upon the blessing of a single plea comes full circle... So will Christmas trees! So will the festivities of decorations, Christmas trees and HUGE banquettes! Become that VERY necessity. All in the honor of this very "wishful thinking", so to speak.
After all, you don't necessarily want too feel that you have "wronged" some sort of rule of Christmas itself, do you...?
Just because you "feel" you didn't again, (necessarily) "sense" that you weren't good enough in simply celebrating... In your OWN way....
A wishing upon the blessing of a single plea could (very well "drink") too the very regards (royally speaking) of course! In hopes of advancing the very cause of EVERYONE... "ALL AROUND YOU!!"
And when you feel like you weren't necessarily good enough this year, either. Just remember the wishing upon the blessing of a single plea. It's not the saying that matters... Since the very words coming together in it's MOST sequenced (now 'established' order of fashion), could simply come off (at first) as very "simplistic" in it's (more than 'natural') approach. Simply because when you read it... Your reading just a bunch of words MASHED together into a single sentence! (Everything isn't as "what it seems"... When looking at something at first light/glance. Because it's truly "more than what it seems"!) Don't "judge a book by it's MOST 'notorious and natural' cover"! Just because you don't understand it (not for someone else)... But simply for you...alone! And by how the very words (that come first) simply "orchestrate" the very (doubtless and impervious) proverbial finger in the ****! One that would "outlast" US ALL... If ONLY we could truly understand the very words that "communicate" in on that very saying, accordingly. Then the very "cryptic" way of how it shows itself, would outlast its own impression of itself...when it's already been presented... FOR ALL TOO SEE!
So, in a natural state of calmly (put together "recompense"), what does ANY OF THIS haft too do with Christmas? Well haven't you've been listening too ANTHING...???!!!
Wishing upon the blessing of a single plea comes close too one’s own heart who is both religious or non-religious (according to its own mark upon the truer common reference of how the usual story of Christmas sprit itself goes by)! But that's not how one's own individuality see's it, simply speaking....
Because what one see's in that very quote, is nothing more then "belief, hope, trust, guidance, 'wishful thinking', moral support, moral compass, good 'standard' morals"!
Because in the end of it all... There's nothing more important, then "wishing" upon something too diverse for common "trustful" ears too handle! At which time gives such "remedial" tension towards the "blessing" that needs more "useful" guidance...then ANYTHING in one's own existence! And lastly, the very "plea" comes into such a "recognition" type state. For at which time, everything centers forward for that such individuality too be present... FOR ALL TOO SEE!
Because at the end of the (more than 'natural' day), Christmas isn't (just about having 'others' to simply call upon yourself among the VAST 'secured' majority) first and foremost. Whose claims aren't as "diverse" as you'd want others simply too believe in! (Since that's not how it would have truly worked... Now would it??)
It's simply (not just about having others by your side, while having your own self MOST OF ALL) in charge of your own 'orderly' lifestyle.
It's how your own "wishing upon the blessing of a single plea" would/should give such ('wishful thinking') to that very orderly lifestyle (upon its own 'lifecycle'. That may or may not be entirely 'orderly' to begin with.)
Because there's nothing more "appreciative", then having your own 'wish' at the hands of Christmas itself!
Christmas isn't your usual testament towards such a calmly disposition for rightful/ever-lasting resources too keep you up at night! No... It's simply about how you regularly present your own self. Both upon your own behavioral attitudes (that acts like a VERY useless 'limp'). And a mere (ALWAYS helpful 'crutch') that convinces you that EVERYTHING will simply be... ALL RIGHT...FOREVERMORE! And this mere crutch, is your own "linear line". Except, a linear line full of "benefits"! Benefits that tame the exposure of what was ("once upon a time go") the such nurturing focus of your entire core!
Oddities of nature;
Simplistic conjugation of effects,
Experiences,
Actions,
Thoughts.
One not without the other.
However simplistic,
It is rarely made aware to the consciousness of any living form that nature is odd.
Therefore our misuse of time,
Conjuring and confusing our ideas of our nature,
Would be better spent falsifying the idea of time itself.
It cannot put pen to paper
But all a flower has to do
Is open up its delicate petals
Unfolding like a noble lady's fan
Broadening to blossom into a lovely jewel
Poetry without any word
A spider weaves its web
Like an author spins tales
It's intentions upon its survival, but
Its intricate home of threads and strings
Like a gossamer harp
Is enchanting to perceive
A make and design of fragile strength
The oceans and seas
Mighty and commanding
They roar and display their majesty
With crashing waves and splashy bravado
They spare few prisoners
And graveyards of sunken ships
Whisper of stories untold
Birds chirp and warble
With songs that humans long to know
For they travel through the air
In simplistic freedom
Their chorus of communication
Is a poetic symphony just as entertaining
As any band of musicians or artists
The winds blow and whistle
Though they have no mouths
If you listen close enough
You can hear their secrets
Their breath of life in the
Ever flowing
Breezes that enfold us
You'd swear the mountains
Were painted that way
Brawny and broad, peaked high above
Against the grand canvas we call the sky
Yes, paintings are poems, too
For a picture speaks a thousand words
But no mere man can make a mountain
You see
We are merely students
Taught by God's natural, creative genius
We are merely imitators
Of what nature displays
We are not originals
For we are not the first poets
Nor the first storytellers
Its a Friday night
And I chose to come relish in my last moments
In this little but yet so big
Room thats fully taken on so much.
I think back on it now
With that sweet nostalgia
I get so deeply caught up in
With earnest masochism
And the innate desire
To keep kicking up my heels
And get my **** together
I seem to echo in tandem
With those that pick and seek
Simplistic but belting desires
From me
And really, the not so little
Or big
I have to give.
This time last year
A great betrayal occurred
I'll never forget my hysteria over the phone
That was not my own
I called you in such a panic
My darling, I didn't mean for that to happen
Pacing in West Avondale
I had to go be on set in a matter of minutes
And I wept, for fear I had ruined
What I thought might be us.
And I find myself standing now
In little bo-peep pink with a glass of white wine in my hand
My soon to not be room mate seems disheartened
That everyone already knows me
And we jest but really we mean it and say
He's clearly
Just so gay.
I had a little tick in the pit of my stomach
Papa and I got so sweaty in the hot sun
A new bright, brave, strong man
Wraps his arm around me amid what we think to be
Honeysuckles and he teaches me a thing or two
About what I know
But he brings a new sense of wisdom
And I cutely tell him
I like your brain.
I decided to stay away tonight
After much debate
Its my last moments here after all
4 different parties to attend
I say no thank you to them all
Tonight
Burn some sage
Make sure I'm ready
But you're never fully ready
But I stare out my new windows
Am greeted in the elevator
Buy some cute bar stools
Mama told me to walk away
And never look back.
I paced in a long blue dress
The night before
Black
Felt so alive to be everyone's ***** on a film set
And now its me who gives the orders.
I barely know you that well
But would you like to take some time away
Throw pennies down a well
And make wishes that we'd never tell?
When it comes to being confident
I'm lacking in the subject but it
Doesn't mean that I don't know how to love
If there's something beautiful in this rotten world it's a dove
Who flies through the day and the night
With wings ******* white
Trying to find the one to who will make him stay
And make a nest with eggs
Feed his children on the off days
So if it's something like that you're looking for
I'll have introduce you too the door
Only after we've had our fun
Because I really want to know you
But it's hard for me to show you
Everything that I'd want to give
It's not what I'd suggest but it's the way some like to live
So take your coat
and hang it up
Or throw down your purse and lay with me till the sun comes up
Either way it doesn't matter to me
It's just another thing to lose
Something I'd rather not choose
But it's something that people live for
Whatever happened to the christian girl
Who took a solemn pledge
To remain pure like silver
And to never go up against
The devil and his drones
To become a mindless clone
To the alcohol and green
She says she feels all in between
I think she left home way too soon
Like some modernized sixties cartoon
Well I know that a man ***** you
****** is a real shame
But that doesn't mean you can take good friends
And make them feel the same
Hate isn't something I'd wish upon another
So please just stay out of it
And avoid all the clutter
So drink all the wine in my simplistic home
Don't worry about the time we've got a loan
It is just another thing to lose
Don't think about tomorrow I'll take your shoes
I know I'll wake up the next morning
And know i'll never get to see those hazel browns again
Because you like to your eyes closed when you sin
It helps you not remember what you did
I'm not really one to talk
But I think we should take a walk
And get the help that we deserve
because even god can't help us when we refuse to learn
And you'll try to look both ways
Before crossing the busy street
At least that’s what it'll say
On your suicide note to me
I'll miss you very dearly
If only you could see clearly
And not through that red eyed whiskey glare
It's yet another thing I refuse to share
You know which way to go about it
You say that you can live without it
But when it comes to being a good son
You have eleven bottles down at a quarter to one
Now your beating your mother
And cursing the only other
Person that wants you to live
I really wish you had something more to give
Than a sly remark and a troubled slur
Like a baker who let his workplace burn
You'll get back everything you lost
You can't even get better
So just take up that sweater
And go sit in the backyard and slit your wrists
The police are knocking at your door they're coming in
Only three days in prison
And your back to the same old ****
I bet you had a life
That was relatively good
Although I know nothing about your wife
Everything seemed to be where it should
Can you count the fingers
On my left hand?
You just want shove it in my face
And kick my *** where I stand
Your sisters don't care
And your father is barely breathing on his bed
You niece is in denial
And your nephew wants you dead
Can I ask a question?
Have you learned your lesson?
You better hope to god you'll never hear this poem
Because let me tell you
I want you gone
The couple that's not a couple broke up last week
The girl was a bit troubled
And the boy just smokes his ****
While another girl doesn't eat
And another man can barely sleep
Because there is really too much on their minds
Like the french man and his muse
They are all compromised
And the kids that drop their acid
Before they're thirteen
And the parents who keep the knives at bay
Cry in disbelief
The girls who's actually eighteen
Is mentally ten
No one knows what’s happening with her mother
She might be dead
In a few months time
They won't know if she’s fine
The father takes his pleasure
In being philosophically confusing
And the son lies about his drug use
Its all a bit soothing
To think they all started out
In the same old place
Naked as a jaybird
With their mothers to thank
How they all have changed
Moderation is key
It really shouldn't be
Be I'll talk about me
I'm an eighteen year old ******
Just trying to find some love
Not someone to ****
Just to think fondly of
My uncle is a drunk
And my mother might die
My grandfather doesn't remember me
And my sister can't even try
To be a normal kid
Like her younger brother
While my father scolds me
About the **** like its another
Faithless crime
Like he did when he was a kid he
Sipped his wine
And now my fathers’ father
Can barely think
He just gargles down his mouthwash
And spits into the sink
His heads makes up theories
About the president
And we are all communists
Its real complicated
And here I am at two AM
Just trying to deal
With all of these thoughts
It really can’t be real
I think sometimes it's easier just not to feel
I've had a few girls I've thought fondly of
With each of them in different ways, I fell in love
One was a pure christian girl
Who left me for jesus
Another was deep into drugs
She overdosed and now I never see her
There was one who lived in Chicago
She was full of hope
One who took pills for pleasure
But now only smokes dope
Another who takes photos
Who only dreams in black and white
We are just best friends
I hope one day I
Well one day I'll take the train
To somewhere new
With my guitar and my ripped up shoes
I think I'd really love to start again
With a new name, a new life
Some new friends
I'll write you all letters
Explaining my guilt
I'll never forget you
I promise you all that I will
Try to visit again
On a warm summer day
My hair will be past my shoulders
And my heart taken away
By someone who is as close to perfect
As the word itself
And when I look into their eyes
My brain would start to melt
Like the eagle and the poacher
It's just a kind of game
You never know who's gonna win
And what’s to blame
Is it because we live in a land that land makes medicine illegal
Or the fact that we deny any form of help to the most vulnerable of people
We think we own the world
When we are really just a race
Who took the fact that we have thumbs
As the right to claim first place
Take this message in a bottle
And throw it out to sea
Hopefully through all the pollution
They'll find me
With a joint in my hand
And my guitar in the other
I'll tell them I've quit cigarettes
And this is just another
Way to cope
With the every day life
I know they won't believe me
I'm a criminal in their eyes
I'll fight for all my friends
That have been taken down
By wars or drugs or policeman
Their souls I never found
I guess it's time to move on
A new chapter will begin
Maybe this time I'll let the light
Come shining on in
I know I've let my mother down
She probably hates me
The feeling might be mutual
But that doesn't even phase me
For me there's just so many things to say
I can't even wrap my head around
What happened new years day
I was alone in the bathroom
Drunk beyond belief
Taking a drag off a cigarette
And then a hit of ****
It was me and three of my friends
Two were having ***
The other had a friend over
The were on the couch touching lips
I called up a friend
He said he wasn't busy
He said I should hang up
He knew I was way past tipsy
We talked for hours
then I went back to the room
The reeked of smoke and ****
With a hint of the blues
I called up a friend of mine she paid me a visit
She gave me a big hug
I really, really miss it
When I saw her face
I almost started to cry
She left, I love her
She's the best friend that I
Have ever had in this world
She knows about me
She helped me off the drugs
And my dependencies
When it was again just us four
I played them all a song
The tears all just came up again
I played along
We all went outside
And smoked the last cigarette
Smoke the rest of my ****
And went off to bed
It was a sad night
But I had things to learn
Like who will go out of their way
To help me reconfirm
My identity that had been lost
About two years ago
I don't think I'll ever find it
To whoever cares you should know
I'll miss you
When I'm nearly dead
Whenever that is
Remember what I've said
You can't love another
Without mending a broken heart
It's something I wish I'd known
Right from the very start
It would have helped me out a lot
Way back then
With my insecurities
That I can throw into the wind
Wish oh wish upon a star
Wake up where the days are close
Behind you
Maybe one day they'll get the message
That everything I do depends on them
Return to where it all began
Try to wake the dead and frolic now and then
Stay up in the fields and take a look
A flower floating through the forest
Floating in a bubbling Brooke
I guess that's where I started
My old friend
I hope I get to see you
One day before the end
It's an addiction
It can't be understood
In its exterior it is simplistic
In its interior it is complex
It is something that can't be understood
By those outside it
Because they don't know the highs
Or where it does take you
All those outside it can only see
Just how it will break you
But they can't see
They can't see how good it feels
The stages are easy to know
When you can follow me
Stage 1: The first date
Always the best part
The nerves
The preparation
The mystery
The first time that I touch her hand
A rush
I feel high again
Stage 2: The first kiss
Always a favorite
Because I mastered it
I take her to the perfect place
She loves it
An overlook
A stream
Nature surrounding
The kiss happens
It's perfect to her
She loves it
As do I
I feel that rush again
Stage 3: The convincing
The dating
The kissing
The sensations
All are easy to see why it's sensational
The feeling of her skin against mine
The listening to her perfect breath move her chest
In and out
In and out
I tell her I love her
She isn't sure at first
But I try harder
As we continue
And I succeed
I feel the euphoria coming in
Step 4: The love
That comfort
That security
That feeling of serenity
It cloaks me
Wraps me around
Its sky blue blanket
And lays me in
A green field
She's there too
Next to me
Feeling the same earth
Beneath us
I turn to her
Eyes whatever color
It nonetheless dazzles me
It fills me with something dangerous
Hope
That rush is gliding me through
Stage 5: The loss
Parents get in the way
She loses that feeling
I'm a *******
But either way
That feeling
That was once with her
Is gone
She walks the thin line
Performing a balancing act
Trying to find reason to be together but can't
She calls me up on the phone
Tells me how everything is wrong
I don't see it
I can't see it
Our love was perfect!
We both made it!
And now you're killing it!
We meet up
I beg but she's stands her ground
She walks up
Leaves
I'm alone
Left to sob
Yell
Get angry
That adrenaline rush from the high rises
Stage 6: The hate
The pacing
The change of thoughts
I still love her one day
I despise her the next
I feel anxiety kick in
Try my best to hold it
But can't
I call her up
Yell at her
Scream at her
Tell her that
She threw something great away
She hangs up
Blocks me
Never speaks to me again
I still keep pacing
Feeling more often guilty
Than angry
ineverwantedtohurtyoualliwantedtodowassaveyoufromanyoneelseiknowthatisaidiwantedyoutosufferbutthatsnnottrueatalliddoanything
Sometimes I still feel that hope
But it's fading
Fades fast
It's all over
My high is going down
I need to go back
And cook some more
She moves on quickly
I got her addicted too
She feels that addiction too
It draws us both in
And we can't imagine
What it would be like to leave
It is the cycle
That helps make us
And the cycle
That can break us
it’s futile to change her shape.
seduction, entanglement, & word play.
she harbors such a dangerous weapon.
deadly lures molded into a blizzard-like touch
the perfect balance of unsteady vengeance,
benevolent beauty fitted to destroy heavy love.
charm pervades through her.
she bathes in simplistic elegance.
she is a shooting star, men will follow off cliffs.
i was sapped dry of my awareness
in moments, i fell in love with her.
Tiny droplets on my window
As I look out gazing,
at the stars who light you.
(Droplets.)
Then I've forgotten,
how the sun and moon never share
the sky.
When all is cloistered
by the infinite walls each builds
Only to move forward
with wheels so round.
So I ponder.
From whence do you come from?
Others say
the rain.
From a God so dry,
to drench so sharply
a people
who refuse to even
be chilled.
But have I refused to be mild?
Others speak,
or even laugh about you
being from a wooden cask.
So simplistic a material
born of nature's *****
raised by human hands
killed by a shoe's trample.
Only to be revived
by repetitive thirst.
But have I abandoned value?
A small voice
goes so far to whisper
that you are but
a leaf's residue.
Relegated as lifeless,
you, so clear, have given life
to the colors of autumn.
And rekindled by
the same time
that disowned you.
But have I been disloyal?
Though now as I lie
staring at the snow
a crystal sparkles.
Something
from my own eye
my own bliss
my own sorrow
my own consolation
my own mortality.
Abandoned when I must go.
Or have I refused to be constant?
Notwithstanding your origin,
I touch you,
you will never be the same.
But will I?
There once was a great beast, now but a myth, who sat atop Mr. Atlas’s throne. So the story goes, the beast had become so heavy, and such a burden on Mr. Atlas, that he enlisted some folks to tame it. ******, that beast could fight back. He fought for ages, centuries, eons, a near-******-eternity to stay on top of his throne. He would not be defeated, until the world stopped turning up on old Mr. Atlas’s back. After fighting back on and on, pressuring the tamers for years on end, the gargantuan beast was slowly getting tired. Energy seeped out of his body. But he kept fighting. He kept fighting until he didn’t see the point anymore, and he fought some more.
To this very moment, the beast is still fighting up there on old Mr. Atlas’s back.
The beast, our voice, our final bastion of worldly balance, should very well be tamed by now. The idea of submitting to our tamers is a very unpopular one, though popular at the same time among some. But they are the tamers, and we are the beasts, fighting back to little avail but not giving up on the mission, though thoroughly futile.
Folks, it’s time for us to submit to those who are taming us. As awful, as cowardly, as utterly asinine as this sounds to most of you, we just cannot go on if we continue to fight back.
Those in charge have ****** it up so thoroughly that we must live life through simplistic principles. We can’t afford to **** around with “the man” anymore. It simply will not work. We have to find our happiness. We have to enjoy the little things, little victories, little comforts, little joys, little hardships, and big souls with big aspirations on the little scale that we are left with. As we enjoy these things, we in turn do not submit to those above us. In fact, those above us hate that we are content. Our contentment is their pain, and if they feel pain, then they stop taming us and they themselves become the ones who are tamed, subdued by their own (now) unsuccessful attempts to tame us.
So we have to find comfort in the uncomfortable, and joy in the hardships of life, and accept that we cannot change a thing unless we are content with the conditions that these folks have presented us with.
Comfort and contentment is everything, and it is what tames the tamers of the beast.
Is she going to make it to 50?unlikely. suicide just in time for a birthday. unfair exchange. continuing pattern. someone has to make up the hoi palloi  no one can or will solve it. you can take that to the bank...just wait a couple weeks.
I let it take control of my mind. Disappearing in a mist of haze; wandering for days. Searching. Seeking. Finding. Fitting into my piece, so I could spread amongst the rest. So I could fit and be apart of it: the Great Mystery. Truth. So I can understand the meaning of life. Is my path determined? Do I have free will? Can I escape this? All I know is that everything is connected. Earth is a single component; a mere microscopic portion of the entire universe, which is compromised of more than the human mind can understand at this point in time.
A little stardust.
How is it possible that less than five percent of our oceans have been discovered? Are we ignorant to the fact that when earth started experiencing life, it was in the depths of the ocean. Hence, all production of landscape, the animal kingdom, primitive and current **** sapiens, technology, advancement, and discovery of our past is a creation from the sea billions of years ago. Everything on earth is composed of gasses that came from the universe: what simplistic thinking.
Humans fighting against humans, to taste eachothers blood in the name of “victory”, a game to exploit and prevent eachother form an equalized entirety. When will all work towards progress, instead of the demise of the "other". When will we realize our brothers and sisters are not our enemies. How connected the human race is as a species;
does anyone realize?
Class Mammalia, which consists of over 5000 species, is a single group of the animal kingdom, yet humans are classified by each other on basis a of enhanced melanin, and physical traits. Do dogs laugh at us? Ah, I used the term race and everyone decides to think it means colour, or some stupid stereotype!
what have we come to?
When will we reach our heads out of our ***** and realize what surrounds and encompasses us as a whole? A consistent river that flows with time, shining mortality by with plenty adventures, constantly writhing. No control. Like I am a mere droplet in the ocean, licking the coastline, bathing in the sunlight. Creating, and being created.
Its amazing isn’t it?
i have a wish
to be profound...
   to be proud and stronger
   and carry myself like the **** poets on Def Jam
voices of Kenya and kings, emblazoned
with wisdom, respected / permanence
tanned in words of Malcolm & Martin's reign...
   to have passions of Nubian queens
   wear a crown to herald my approach
head held high
   without raising a calloused hand,
   copper polished hearts
A presence that only demands simplistic
of silences in the awe, the inspired
unchallenged in my reverence--an African / American ability
   choreography / invention
   the first to dance, when others fear to
to keep it real and say it loud
my human wishes, strong, profound, proud...
sometimes
   gentille...
i wanna be black...
like King Cobra, a hood to umbrella fright
with venom from just my stereotypical sight
   immobilize and paint caucasians whiter
   to be well endowed yet humbly
complicated,
angry but with proven reasons unrequited,
to be singled out by mere appearance
alone, a Halley Berry poster, child - dealing drugs,
   respected yet in the poetry of chains
   creative even in these multi-colored pains
from a thousand lands of strife
music is sister, artistic is brother life
become ingenious
   saxophones in the moody blues,
   athlete of hurtles, jazz / boxing fights / sang...
gold medals, worthy for full frontal
news...
do i amuse you, with these longings?
think do you - it's a cursed delight?
   but life only
   excels with each challenge: our battles
against ignorance / shame defines
the worth we're given
our lot mostly restricted, our lions tamed
perseveres - tho' weep the dust of our ancients names,
and bleeds these,
our cotton soft truths some mistakes
   and Dolby stereotypes revealed
   re-assigned
now worn like brand new:
a garden painted stronger
roots - and robes of shackles' / thorns
sharp with unlocked prejudices
   brown can do no more (for you sir)
   criminal confidences find the unmoving wave of faith
a prominent jaw-line, obelisk-lips
kiss and smack / wet with loving lengths
it is ... no hurt in these earthen eyes
   evident
   stoic, strength, serenity
mine to dance and sing my apathy instead...
about the history, i wish to dis
yes, re-avow
empty empathies before,
   experience my thousands, marching
   Melato’s at the founding fathers' doors, will show
you how to open house
these ghettos of / our violent villages / of tar & soot
shadow our poor ever the more
our stars shine on
   broadway be our stage / Stomps / in the heart, hopes,
   styles rap / songs to battle racial profiles
racial cops in devil blue,
beating brothas, home video tell our news,
while our rich forget the rest
******* **** in their cribs
re-pimped, yes, ******* new money & *****
   of course, they are the talented ...
   almost gods on Apollo / knock on wood...
the music is still
the song still is
the foot is stampeding
the noise will be loud,
i will be proud
i will be profound
   in this time of redefinition,
i will be strong
(i wanna be black) like Etta James
at last...
Its annoyance
Anointed
In pessimistic clairvoyance
Its the avoidance
Of the simplistic
And stoical
Components
Its motion
Less
Ness
In oceans
Of lip service
Its ***** potions
For the passionate
Its fake ****
And face lifts
Its abortions
In portions
Of subordinates
As gifts
In gifs
Of gorgeous
Ordinance
Distorted
In tortured
Tapping
Of the dead
Its all the fame
In shoving
The pain
Of loving
In the oven
Of stubborn
Mothers
Blubbering
Under the covers
With other men
Its the omens
Of the oh mans
In roman
Misnomers
Of fortunate
Misfortunes
Torn
From time
Its the mine mine mines
Confined
To their own kind
Pre signed
In old blood
Its consignment killers
Its the drugs
Its timeless thrillers
Its the shrugs
Its the thunder
Plundering
Structures
Rattling out
From under the bed
Its all the thoughts
In our heads
Blaring
The booms
Of the tamed
Its the assumed
The restrained
Its this tomb
Of shame
In doing
The same
Old **** again
And again
Its been
Better
Then again
I grin
When
Cold
Its when i should fold
That i embolden
Its all the No's
Its blankets nose
Its the cut blow
And lack of flow
Its fists and elbows
As opposed
To safety locks
Its ******* flu shots
Its everything
That ****** me off
Its the the stupid robots
And the silly riot cops
Fencing in the famished flocks
Its the *****
And the *****
In plastic boxes
Giving rocks
Off
Without us
Its the gold pots
And stacked stocks
Locked
From us
Its the Rocks
Inside my socks
As they knock
The blocks
Of billy bobs
Bobbling
On the dash
Its the harsh
And its the rash
Its inside the last
Bastion
Of dummassez
passing
Through the
Blast radius.
Alas
Its the mass graves
And the paved pools
Of anyone who knew
Anyone who stood
Its all us fools
As cool kids
Knowing
No show biz
In soul ****
Its in knowing this
And *******
And barking
At the moon
Soon
To swoon
None
I am peaking soon
In looming threat
Of lost concepts
Slipping away
Under the sun
Electing to quit
While im ahead
Way back when
It was fun
Way back when
It mattered
Its a gun
Shooting blather
Blathering
As a bladder
Would
Misanthropic
And misunderstood
A changed topic
Knock on wood
Bye is good
Goodbye
Told you
Its implied
In rite
So
Good
night
Until
next
time
