Sunset is a pretty thing, so bathed in mystery,
And yet it is the saddest thing, when drenched with memory,
Sodden sunset soak the tears,
That fall so endlessly,
Silent sunset take my hand, and bring me down with thee.

I may be silent
but my heart will
deafen you

Don't turn to me,
when you want someone to talk to,
because you never knew me,
and I never knew you.

We don't have anything in common now that years have passed,
I've flown in my life, and so have I crashed.

I don't know much about you anymore, so don't come to me,
remember I'm just a stranger,
and forgetting you was all I need.

The wise
Follows wisdom
A silent path
Courtney Pruitt Aug 2014
When the
mess bred
by ancient
logicians
is put to rest
and we dicover:
The chicken
and the egg
hatched
in two
different
places at
the same time;
Love was
an inverse
relationship
between lust
and time;
Infinity was
a universe
we couldn't see.

Will conversation
cease?

Will silence
replace
speech?

Will the larynx
become a vestige?

How will
we debate
the notes
that compose
silence?

The warrior furious,
and fearless.
Her eyes full of justice,
and trust.

Raising her sword
at her enemies,
showing she shows no
fuse.

She fights with grace and
skill.
No expression,
no care.

Her glowing eyes,
made her foes fear her.
Her sword raises as it slashes down,
onto the foes.

She is known as a mysterious,
hero.
The warrior that was silent.
She showed no mercy on
those who are,
displeased.

The Silent Warrior,
is the one to be.
Somewhat random poem

I cannot make you understand,
I know you won't make me try.
Please do not give me your pity,
Even if I do start to cry.
These bitter memories have molded me,
Whether for better or for worse.
I know I am a handful,
I am a blessing and a curse.
I will never force you to stay,
but if I ask, please don't go,
If during rain, wind, sunshine,
or even falling snow.
Someday I will bare it all to you,
when the time is truly right.
I don't expect you to understand,
but I hope you stay through the night.

Everything brings back
Thoughts of the Sea
The Tumultuous Ocean
That whispered to me.

Reality is nothing
After all that has passed
Everything’s tainted
Stained and unchaste.

Hours are seconds
Time stopped the day
He breathed out his last
And faded away.

I’ve stopped writing stories
With sticks in the sand
And brushed them away
With slow grieving hands

The water is silent
Where it strokes the shore
Reaching for someone
Not here anymore.

Hopelessly wondering In the darkness
Fading
Fighting
Dying
Can you not see the mask that is being worn?
Can you not see the pain that has taken everything
Numbness
So hollow
So cold
Please can help
No one hears the silent cries
No one sees
No one hears

Sunday.
The coffee knows,
and my toes;
I can't move either.
Sunday.
House is quiet,
after the riot;
it's a breather.
Monday.
Comes too fast,
a weekend passed;
not a pleaser.
Sunday.
Through a week,
your silent break
is just a teaser.
Sunday.
Feelin' lazy;
it's all hazy...
feeling lazy

These words just deposit
Like sand on the beach;
Remain on this tongue
As unspoken speech.

They stretch towards someone
Whose ears have gone deaf;
Unable to know
Their tones on my breath.

Their eyes will not see
All that has passed
Since the day that they ceased
And breathed out their last.

Their presence won't touch us
Like waves on the shore
Reaching for something
Not here anymore.
