"significant" poems
1. your precious smile, that never failed to shine; a heaven-sent beam, that made my heart your realm. 2. your tenderness, that gave me bliss; how could someone be like you, so dearly? 3. your good vibes, that surpassed all tribes in giving off the positivity i need for my stubborn reality. 4. your talents, that awakened everyone's hearts; you are my significant inspiration, you give life to my life's ambition. 5. your humility, that's filled with sincerity. while everyone else is toplofty, you remained lowly. not everyone as wonderful as you, could show meekness too. 6. the happiness you shared, at times when smiling is something i never dared; darling, it meant everything. 7. for your meaningful silence, that gave me a better comprehension. although your stillness was tense, i knew in my heart it was never a rejection. 8. for your music, that never halts to flourish. music, your depiction of aesthetic; through you, the melody will never tarnish. 9. for being your genuine self, you gave me potency to do the same. shamming is no longer something i'll play, for you taught me how to end that witless game. 10. for bringing me daily sunshine, for setting the moon & the stars aligned; my everyday became better, and i will treasure you forever. there are way more reasons on why i love you for real. through the passing seasons i could slowly & slowly reveal and show you how i truly feel. as time passes us by, i would no longer hesitate and keep my sentiments ensconced. through the coming weeks, months and years, as long as we have all the time i would dauntlessly lay out to you that the way i feel for you is true.

10 reasons why i love you.

Loyalty it's an odd word isn't it? break it down Loyal simple enough you have your side and you stick to it but how about the T that caps off the word the intersecting lines almost standing for intersecting ideals and ideas I think that's significant because in this world people are always loyal until the end where going a different direction is the smart thing to do

Loyalty
We all want to Support stopping racism, because we sent black and white men to die in war together, before we could be educated together, The end gender inequality, Because women can't where cloths, and feel safe, walking down a street alone, with out feeling were going to get ***** Same or different *** relationships, Because the way you love your significant other, wouldn't be the same if they changed there gender to the other? Transgender rights, Because there a man everywhere else but in there pants, And men don't get cervical cancers, So yes legally changing my gender won't help me if i need a treatment only a lady would get, and this goes vice a versa, But I shouldn't have to worry about any other pains, except the possibility of one in my unwanted **** **** victims, including males, Yes you, Feminist views, Please just Stop over looking, Men go though it too. And we all may know men may be the main cause, Women have just as much play, No human, Wants an unwanted Violation, to come into any contact with them so personally, See all these things, we want to stop, and they need to, but, When u last walked down the street, what stranger did your Arrogant eyes peek? they saw someone, and you though they were, too fat, too small, too tall, a **** needs to button up, he used to pop pills, now he cant pay his bills, and there's so many I'm leaving out, like what they thought about you, so you see, each of these little groups, we just pass each other on the street, even when we didn't even meet, it's human nature, our natural order, to insult each other, some just get the really blunt edge. maybe we should change how we think and act, before we go wishing for things out of our knack's.

i. I intentionally failed to wish you a happy birthday this year, though I know significant dates, hours, moments, people, by heart. I still search for you in boys I mistake for bandages, the ones with eyes almost the same shade of your hazels, lips resounding your laughter, resembling a wisp of your smile, But they aren't you. ii. Sometimes I pretend you're dead, because it's less painful to stop reaching out into voids. iii. My mom still blames you for everything that preceded that year. Though you probably had no idea what happened when we stopped talking altogether. Can you believe it's almost been three years? iv. My dad wonders who was my 'one that got away' Though, I'm pretty sure he knows it's you. v. Remember how I mentioned Sylvia Plath? How most everything she wrote brimmed with melancholy? How I loved every single word? Especially that piece where she talked about expectations and disappointments. You'll never know that up to this day I still think people are selfish enough to always, eventually turn into the latter. Even you. vi. It's sad I never got the chance to tell you about Ted. How she loved him so much, she just had to figuratively dive headfirst into the flames-- burning herself, what was left of her-- after she found out he never really loved her the same way she loved him in the first place. vii. *truth is, some of us never learn to accept the love we think we deserve.* viii. I don't know if you still read my poems or if you still think about me, about us, sometimes. Every time you fall asleep past eleven, a part of me hopes you do. because I always remember you-- in birthday candles, red ribbons, off-tune voice records, golden arches, concrete sidewalks, pedestrian lanes, the last flickers of city lights softly fading out of the blue. I remember you in everything, in everywhere, in everyone. It's useless, no matter how much I try to forget. No matter how much I just want to forget. I want to forget. But, how could I? When forgetting means forsaking the very memory of you.

Before I begin, allow me to explain, I too loved.. once, so think of me not as some cynic- nor as a master in the ways of love- but rather as a keen observer- now, that may mean I have nothing to offer you- no insider knowledge- no secrets of love- But I do  know how to tell a true love story - Interested? Fantastic- So let’s begin, True love, if there is such a thing at all, is like the thread that makes the cloth you can’t tease it out- you can’t extract meaning- without ending up deeper in the web- and it always remains- hidden under layers - In the end, that’s all you can really say about any True love story- They don’t generalize- They don’t analyze- They arent found- They just… happen. and that’s what makes them “true.” But what is this coveted “love” - the emotion?- the act?- the mentality?- Love, is a constant state of illusionment- A collective agreement amongst humans- that it, whatever it may be,  can be treated as an excuse for recklessness, irrationality, and misplaced strife-   A quid pro quo  between two individuals- to agree that they are doing something- anything- other than mindlessly drudging through life- Now that is not to say that what love creates is pointless- I said before, I have felt the embrace of love Love festers between individuals for so long it has no option- but to mould the physical to itself- and alter our personalities- Characterized by spontaneity- by indulgence- by risk- to love is the most dangerous experience in existence- the act of being fully vulnerable with another- while promising not to hurt them the same- Love is characterized by vulnerability- and the constant fear of being hurt- So you want to know how to write a true love story? be honest- dwell not on the “romantic” blindfolds that keep us irrationally seeking our partners- dwell not on the on the memories of a love that blossomed- reveal the core of love - A true love story comes from gut instinct- A true love story, comes from experience. A true love story, if truly told, makes the stomach believe So I said I loved once, allow me to elaborate- I too have felt the “butterfly stomach” - where the insides of the lovestruck turn on their host and manifests the emotional significance of meeting “the one” I too have spent the day daydreaming... -Lost in the thought of “the one”, seeking brief breaks from reality in my mind between moments of  utter normalcy I too have melted into a puddle of emotion…. -lying next to “the one” as we slowly spill more and more of the secrets that bound us as individuals, joining a spirit much larger than ourselves- I too have felt... invincible- -to know that I’ve found something more significant than myself. To the teachers who never really cared and ignored my problems; To my fellow ***** “misfits”, etc. Who will no doubt receive more abuse upon my passing, as my tormentors will no longer have me to push around; To those who never cared, never spoke, probably never knew my name; To the one true friend, whose caring was the only thing that prevented this event from happening sooner; To the God, if he does exist, who chose to play a cruel, cruel joke on me when he placed me where he did and surrounded me with so many uncaring faces; What about my teachers? Will they be sorry to see another student become a statistic? Certainly the administration and Principal will mourn, as my death will not reflect well on them as an institution. Well, I apologize for making the statistics for your administration worse. But I don’t expect an apology for the false sympathies of people. As for my fellow students, those who made a more significant impact on my life, I know better than to expect my tormentors to mourn. There’s another group I have not yet addressed: those not like me who left me alone. Or should I say ignored me. I appreciate you sparing me any further harassment, but your inaction, your withheld hellos and how are you’s  did more hurt than any name calling. Your inaction effectively excluded me from student life, from the human race. You left me isolated and alone, and no words I could say can convey to you the suffering you caused. I could name names, but in doing so, I would do more now for you than you ever did for me in life. I do not know what awaits me when I get down off this rope. Will there be a void? Or will I come face to face with God? I just don’t care anymore. If you’re anything like your people, I wouldn’t want to know you. You preached to love one another, yet I’ve felt everything except love from Christians. Even if I knew you were different, well, I'd still reject you. You have left your “followers” to treat people like me poorly. You have allowed so many of the people you “love”, including me, to suffer. So you want me to trust you with my life? I don’t want to spend eternity with a careless deity like you, or with the company you keep. I’m trying to watch TV but I don’t know what I’m watching. It’s so lonely here. I want to sleep but it just won’t come. I’m so tired of hurting and being alone. I hope that with my death, there'll be a wider awareness for child abuse and the effects it could have on a person. That's the only wish I have right now. A lot of people will be hurt with my passing, disappointed even, or maybe it won't matter. But I'd like to believe, no matter how much of a ****** up person I am, I died for a cause greater and bigger than myself. That's the only consolation that I have right now. So that’s it. That’s me. Leaving the world to be a better place. Goodbye - T © Copyright Tyler Atherton

Dear Ex-Best Friend, Remember all the times we spent together, everyday started with meeting before classes started because that was the only time we could talk until lunch, remember all the times we laughed so hard we cried? Do you remember all the times we had to hold one another in times of the need because we thought all we had was each other? Yeah.. Me too. We spent all the time in the world texting and calling each other. Things changed a little since I got a boyfriend, but I never replaced you. You always had a special place in my heart, and I think you always knew that. We drifted apart, like two boats at sea. You switched back to the school you came from, and it felt like my life had just sunk. Suddenly I was all alone in the hallways, Coming in to school was like hell, Seeing the spot we used to stand in, Occupied by another set of best friends, Or maybe two high school sweethearts- Making out like there's no one around. It was so lonely without you. You seemed happier where you were though, and at that time, that was all that mattered to me. I walked the hallways with a sad, sorrowful look. Teachers frequently asked if I was sick, or if I needed to lay down. Suddenly I was that one kid that everyone wanted to pick and beat on. (Again.) I was incredibly lonely at school, I couldn't even sit with anyone at lunch because I was so hated by so many people for reasons I didn't even know. Come upon my junior year I got a month and a half into the school year before I switched to the school that you went to. I was reunited with my best friend, Life seemed so good. I was with my boyfriend, and my bestfriend. It felt like nothing could stop me from gaining happiness. You began going through boyfriends, They would come, and they would go. I was put second to all of them. There were days I was so depressed I didn't function correctly, and all we would talk about is what you and your boyfriend did the previous night. I was so happy that you were happy, but I think I forgot the definition of "Happiness." Everyday was full of being ignored and having guys' push past me so they could hug you while I sat in the sideline just waiting there, tears filling in my eyes because I realized that I wasn't significant to my best friend any more. I couldn't help but wonder what I did wrong. I got tired of feeling this way, I grew up, and realized that highschool isn't meant for gaining the love and affection of people. I proceeded to end the friendship because it wasn't making me happy anymore. I understand that a true friend stays there through everything but in no way, shape, or form did I deserve to be kicked to the curb like a diseased puppy. It hurt, It hurt like a ***** But ultimately , I'm gonna be okay in the end. And I hope she ends up okay, too. But, just be okay without me.

She sits there hating herself, Movie on the screen, but she's paying no attention, Her significant other is twirling at her hair, Wanting a response, but she's in no mood. She just hears her dad's words echoing in her head, 'Woman shall love man!' And maybe he's right, But she can't help the way she feels. Her girlfriend is both the best thing in her life, And the one that, sadly, brings the most problems, She knows it's not either one of their faults, But then...who's is it? She feels like a slave to her own body, Yet she's free. So tries to enjoy the film, 'cause after all, People will always find something wrong. But she can't. She should feel happiness, At the movies with her sweetheart, But yet feels so empty, Knowing any day now, she's gonna fall apart. Sure, maybe it will get better. No, no 'maybe'...it WILL get better. It has to get better. Because it sure as hell doesn't need to get worse.

How can you miss someone's voice you have never heard and how can you visualize someone'es eyes you have never seen? These are questions that alter the reality of someone's being. Even though I have never met you and have no knowledge of your existence, I know you are out there. someday I will find my King. I know that your lips are softer than rose petals and the Melanin in your skin fills women with desire. But as I lay in these silk sheets and relish in fantasies I know that nothing between You and another woman  will ever transpire, Because You're Mine. The dimple within your right cheek and the mischief in your eyes are all significant marks that you are no else's but Mine. The sway of your walk and the charm when you talk are characteristics held for a woman who goes by My Name. Our connection is nothing short of beautiful and  the intensity of our relations make any other love seem inhumane. I know this, even though to everyone else you still cease to exist. I know our hands will lock together like the missing pieces completing a puzzle. Making me Your's, but more precisely making you Mine.

Mine
My favorite moments aren't significant at all. It's rolling over in the morning to see you lying there, trips to the grocery store, you lying on the floor with your head in my lap while we listen to music. I read my books and you play video games or surf the Internet and we don't speak. It's skateboard dates and car rides where your hand rests on my leg just to grab an impromptu snack. No, my most treasured moments don't seem like very much, but they're my most precious possessions, and I'd give it all up to keep having these little nothing moments for the rest of my life.

Little Nothings
The hardest part of growing up is the disappointment. The rules of fairness get thrown out the window and it's up to you to pursue your interests. Each person becomes their own main priority. Self preservation. Your heart loses it value to others, your feelings no longer spared. Doing what is right mistaken with what feels right. My problem as of lately has been not doing what has felt right, but what's best for me, finding who's best for me. Now, don't mistake me. He was a dream. My eyes glittered when I smiled. The first tender touch that scared me, but I was too proud to flinch. Laughter was endless, love ran lucratively. I guess you could say he was the beginning of my disappointment. No kiss could be as sweet. The next was the captain of saving. He loved the skin I was in and taught me to do the same. He gave me affection, recognition, and a dilemma of delicacy. So sweet yet so twisted, wicked some may say. The sweet taste of sin. My disappointment grew with the seduction of satan. Now I transition. The ending of a roller coaster. The disappointment began with the first drunken "I love you" I started to believe it myself. In actuality, I think I was just trying to fill the void that sweet kiss originally gave me. Nothing else could replace it. Not even his return. These short romances burn out quickly, only lasting months at a time, but experiencing the most significant of moments. Together, my loves have caused my heart to wither more and more. But it's those small moments that make it all worth it. The moments that I knew somewhere in the midst of the mess they learned to love me, even if it wasn't forever. It happened, and in these moments disappointment grew because I knew they'd eventually end.

You are indescribably beautiful. More than your breathtaking smile. Or the way you look at me with those gorgeous brown eyes. You are beautiful in this supernatural way that makes me yearn for an explanation. It is such a beauty that makes me feel complete. A tremendous burst of euphoria and bliss just by the thought of you. Your bewitching emanation that makes my soul electrify. As if we were split in a ****** world to search for one another. Your immense beauty that is far beyond the physical. It makes me suffer in the most amazing way. Forces me to watch every careful step, To not shatter the perfection of a thousand lifetimes. A beauty that makes the world seem brand new and brilliant. You make the flowers bloom fuller, The grass greener, And the birds sing finer. You are the deity my heart has struggled to search for, The divinity my soul has craved, And the magnificence I have only dreamt of. Your presence makes this life hold a more significant meaning. You are the loveliest being, I have ever had the pleasure of sharing an existence with. You cause this intoxication in my very soul, And make my heart skip every beat in the most tremendous way. You have brought new meaning to my life. Things that were once a blur now makes sense. You have given love "at first sight" a true meaning. ~S.C. Kelley

Everlasting Beauty
I thought there would be a grave beauty, a sunset splendour In being the last of one's kind: a topmost moment as one watched The huge wave curving over Atlantis, the shrouded barge Turning away with wounded Arthur, or Ilium burning. Now I see that, all along, I was assuming a posterity Of gentle hearts: someone, however distant in the depths of time, Who could pick up our signal, who could understand a story. There won't be. Between the new Hembidae and us who are dying, already There rises a barrier across which no voice can ever carry, For devils are unmaking language. We must let that alone forever. Uproot your loves, one by one, with care, from the future, And trusting to no future, receive the massive ****** And surge of the many-dimensional timeless rays converging On this small, significant dew drop, the present that mirrors all.

There is an untold story behind each of us. Some suffer in silence, some try to seek help. Compassion and understanding is within us all. The unseen illness is a killer.

If I were a chocolate bar, life with you would be so sweet Being around you, I feel like quite a treat Gotta love Hershey's: the kisses and hugs And on Valentine's Day combine with Doves Like Reeses or S'mores, we compliment one another Flowers, wine, and chocolate for a significant other If I were a chocolate bar, life could be Grand Although on a hot day, I'd melt a little faster than planned.... As a chocolate bar I'd be broken and shared Spreading gooey goodness to everyone there Maybe being a chocolate bar isn't quite for me... ... But it's fun to imagine just how it might be!

At some point in time she grew tired of thinking, tired of feeling. She couldn't leave the earth for the sake of the ones that she loved. Her pain enveloped her. She hurt in silence. Silence was her way of screaming. Crying for help. Hiding away, Wishing, Hoping, Praying -to a God she nor accepted or disputed- Just waiting for someone to notice her descent. If one person could be puzzled by her disappearance it could have made a difference. She laid in the darkness for days. Day after day She watched the time pass and h o p e d that it would soon be over. She w i s h e d that someone would stop her She P R A Y E D that her heart would stop Her pain and the darkness enveloped her. Tired of thinking. Tired of feeling. She just let go. She drew back into herself and began to drown. Sleeping, dreaming, imagining A better life, A significant existence. Not thinking about important things, Not feeling what there was to feel, Barely existing. Seeing that she had been let go of, she stopped Waiting- Wishing- Hoping - She stopped praying. She no longer cried. She became the darkness. She became the silence. She enveloped all.

What we become
Be composed—be at ease with me—I am Walt Whitman, liberal and ***** as Nature; Not till the sun excludes you, do I exclude you; Not till the waters refuse to glisten for you, and the leaves to rustle for you, do my words refuse to glisten and rustle for you. My girl, I appoint with you an appointment—and I charge you that you make preparation to be worthy to meet me, And I charge you that you be patient and perfect till I come. Till then, I salute you with a significant look, that you do not forget me.

At night, when the sea is still, you can't tell sky from water, and everything is convoluted mirrors spiraling away into darkness: an abyss of serpentine stars, warping the night sky into a kaleidoscope of constellations. The sky is full of stars, and I get the euphoric sensation that I am floating in space, suspended in stellar time with nothing but oblivion and pinpricks of light around me. Somehow, this brings me comfort. It is reassuring to pretend as though I am significant in this world.
