"saucer" poems
Touch it: it won't shrink like an eyeball, This egg-shaped bailiwick, clear as a tear. Here's yesterday, last year --- Palm-spear and lily distinct as flora in the vast Windless threadwork of a tapestry. Flick the glass with your fingernail: It will ping like a Chinese chime in the slightest air stir Though nobody in there looks up or bothers to answer. The inhabitants are light as cork, Every one of them permanently busy. At their feet, the sea waves bow in single file. Never trespassing in bad temper: Stalling in midair, Short-reined, pawing like paradeground horses. Overhead, the clouds sit tasseled and fancy As Victorian cushions. This family Of valentine faces might please a collector: They ring true, like good china. Elsewhere the landscape is more frank. The light falls without letup, blindingly. A woman is dragging her shadow in a circle About a bald hospital saucer. It resembles the moon, or a sheet of blank paper And appears to have suffered a sort of private blitzkrieg. She lives quietly With no attachments, like a foetus in a bottle, The obsolete house, the sea, flattened to a picture She has one too many dimensions to enter. Grief and anger, exorcised, Leave her alone now. The future is a grey seagull Tattling in its cat-voice of departure. Age and terror, like nurses, attend her, And a drowned man, complaining of the great cold, Crawls up out of the sea.

Tea Talk (or Taking Tea) Jam comes first And then the cream Said the scone from Cornwall To one ‘n’ all Taking tea Milk jug blinked. The teaspoon gasped, Who would have linked The layers of bliss that sweetly kiss With their order between the halves of a scone From Cornwall Where one ‘n’ all Know that the milk is churned Until it’s solid Then we say the cream is clotted. The teapot looked at the scone from Devon Who knows that cream and jam is heaven But only if the cream comes first And then the jam . . . . . My thoughts exactly said the ham From between its sandwich fingers Where it lingers Until it’s time for tea. ‘Are you sure?’ the teacup said To ham within its breaden bed. Saucer asked the cucumber salad, ‘Should jam come first?’ ‘But does it matter?’ said cucumber salad. ‘It’s a ballad So red and white, A symphony of taste Into which to bite. It is so right For those who are taking tea,’ ‘Jam then cream, is what you do,’ Insisted Cornwall’s scone who As we know likes cream to be clotted. But tomato blushed and quickly said, ‘With cream from Devon I am besotted Because we know it’s clotted. . . . . Too. Onion, hearing Cornwall and Devon Knows that cream and jam are heaven . . . . . But jam and cream are bliss Sealed with a kiss that is heaven . . . . .too. The dilemma of order fuels onion’s frustration And onion’s tears lead to prostration For those who are taking tea. What is to be done To solve the question of order Jam first . . . . . or cream? The issue borders On the ridiculous As the layers sweetly intermingle Like the lovers’ kiss As those who are taking tea Bite . . . . . The Dove
The full moon caught a glimpse where the billowed clouds parted Saucer size Dogwood blossoms echoed an urging reflection through wide open window ; the diffused moonlight reached in touching the open palms enduring in an empty void lay down beside Softly burnished reflections lighten blanched flesh petals swaying in the wakened      spring cadence Rhinestone memories tethered from somewhere above ; as if manipulating puppet strings dangling down through the seesaw cloud gap ― scattering candlelit sequins like unmapped constellations brushed by the moonlight in the dale of your leafless ******* The fragrant breeze of your memory gathers a sweetest taste, teasing wishful thirsty lips into a gentle smile ... Tracing unbounded memories with wandering fingertips  upon your intimate canvas oasis in my mind Fallen petals floating gently across still waters induced by whispered breeze ; quiet reminders that ripple the mesmerizing silence with the lonely breath an unheard evanescent sigh   The open window let the moonlight in, illuminating lingering shadows of the past ... you feel the waft of spring breathe ... but you just can't help where the wind blows Jesse e. Moonlit Dogwood Petals
The butter started to glisten with fear In the face of the icy saucer In the silence the sound of the basket reciting angrily- There was no place for an affair with The strawberry jam. So sickly sweet The pleading knife resisted; Don't make me do it A smooth slice, A pale & hard interior. The shaking jug cried. And the jam fell to the floor.

~ ⚘ ⚪ ⚘ ~ Though glass, it is rimmed with gold around the cup, handle and even the saucer. I close my eyes and focus on the scent. Without peeling back the foil, I know. You asked me once why I felt safe with you The answer is simple, really; you speak to me sweeter than the southern twang of lightly painted china cups twinkling with an old tonic your great grandmother grew up with - Peach tea, more sugar than ice and the chime of silver spoons stirring away low hanging sky in a lazy afternoon haze. You speak to me with the comfort of a tea cup cradled by the saucer lips meeting gently against each other so as not to scrape a scar against the fragile cheek of either companion Sometimes you even whisper with the rattles of old age chiming away at the edges of sweet forgotten bliss - You, darling, speak to me sweeter than any grain of sugar that rubbed me raw.

One night while I was sleeping The bed began to shake I knew right then without a doubt That I was wide awake Here they come once again To take me for a ride I saw their flying saucer It was much too late to hide So I put on my old blue jeans And headed for the door When I saw this giant beam of light That ****** me off the floor I knew exactly what they wanted And no they didn't use a probe They didn't **** my brains out Or even ask me to disrobe They were looking for a hillbilly To teach them a thing or two Like how to skin a possum And how to make rattlesnake stew Them aliens were some friendly folk They said they liked the way I talked They told me that was the reason That I was the one they stalked They asked me about beef jerky And how to tan a hide I showed them my old **** dog As they watched me beam with pride They said they really liked my truck And wanted to take it for a spin So I stuck that thing in four-wheel drive And you should have seen them grin When the night was finally over I thought I heard them say We'll be coming back real soon As I watched them fly away I only had one problem As I sat there on the ground Them aliens done up and stole My very best blue tick hound

WEARING EACH OTHER'S FINGERPRINTS
From the edge of our atmosphere it flew nobody knew the craft existed. Invisible to radar screens out of sight the spy plane didn't exist. At the period in history myth or fact then proof they lacked! A plane flying at seventy thousand feet thought an impossible task. Designed to spy undetected at this height against their powerful old foe. But the intrigue when they started to fly a surge of UFO's reported in the sky! Was this what pilots were reportedly seeing and civilians on the ground. Not alien but man made flying saucer craft but maybe not all were! Could it have been this secret spy plane or something we can't explain! Strange lights that change shape and colour blending into one then dividing. Triangular shapes seen all over the planet often over groom lake! So are they secret and developing planes created on barren salt plains! Is there a need for mankind to be very afraid if we knew the secrets being made? The Foureyed Poet.

Spy Plane!
I always walk up the stairs with a cup of tea filled to the brim. Not even walking just taking small steps periodically just in case the tea spilled. Sometimes I made it to the top and sometimes I spilled it and I would have to come back downstairs, go the the kitchen, get a paper towel, wipe up the mess, throw the paper towel away and try again. It was a very tedious Task. My mother used to yell at me for the times I get too lazy to clean up the mess and just allow the tea to dry up on the floor to stick. When I was twelve I realized how many times I allowed the tea to dry up. Most of the time I didn't even care if all the tea spilled by the time I got to the last staircase. The boiling hot tea spilling on my feet and the carpet and the granite didn't bother me. My mind was wayward- somewhere unknown. My thought process didn't care to think about my mother after a hard days work coming home to yell at her old enough daughter to stop drinking upstairs. She used to get so mad at me sometimes wondering why I always said "I don't care,". She used to despise me for it, and I did too. Maybe I liked how the tea burned my feet causing me to walk faster, maybe I liked the pain. Maybe I was too busy to care about the abundance of spills maybe I wasn't. Maybe I just didn't care. The whole world stopped spinning for me but my mind didn't. I loved leaving a trail of sweet hot tea for me to follow again and again, my mother didn't. Finally my mother broke all the teacups and threw away all the tea we had in the house. In all honesty I freaked out. I could've ripped the whole house from its foundation and throw it toward the horizon. I could've take matches and burn the place down letting its ashes fill the toxic sky. I could've done all of that. But I didn't. I disintegrated into my covers and let my bed seep me in, like tea leaves brewing. I was brewing. And like the perfect cup of tea, I finally became that dark, rich color with the perfect amount of milk and sugar, placed onto a saucer that was the right size. I the ridges kept me in place and the walk upstairs wasn't so bad anymore.

"Constant mindset of a Poet"
I remember the first time I discovered poetry, bolts of electric affluenza coursing through soft fingertips and into the skinny blue lines of fascination meaning nothing at first, yet transforming into the spillage of emotion, the invention of color, the budding metamorphosis of the artist’s apprehension. I remember telling everyone about the honey-tainted metaphors that exhaled yellow pigment through our film noir madness of ravaged years cementing over irises and I remember the revelation, saucer eyes and trembling hands after discovering the faultlessness of magic that tore at heartstrings and furrowed brows, the mumbled prayer of stitching entire blankets of words together to keep our souls warm even as the frigid ice of Time burned in desperation to freeze our heartbeats. You are a poet but to the world, you are wasted opportunity you only know of words that slip through tied tongues like silk and mending excuses to make up for heartbreak You are a poet but they never stop reminding you to keep your feet glued To hollow ground, shaking To find something that tastes of reality, the human flesh sweat of long lost longing You have to stop living in your head In the spaces where you breathe life into promises You are a poet But that has never been enough. The poet is used to this-- the knowledge of failure always shoved under the doormat numbers that collect under crumpled paper, the rotten look of misunderstanding as they wonder where the science of living went missing When did art decide to invade your insides, Leaving no room to calculate meaning with mathematics? Oh, but only the poets understand That there is no formula to meaning No theorem to calculate suffering, Only words that get stuck and disintegrate into whispers only all-consuming madness, write me a storm That rages through afflictions Write me an ending where We are older, in the house we dreamed of, buried Under blankets in the forgotten fog of Decembers Write me an ending where my voice is steady Instead of constantly wavering past the silence of goodbyes hellos heartaches Love me And I will love you Lose me And I will turn you into poetry stretch your bones into feelings, follow the lines in your palms into futures Where we end up together I will hold up your eyelids so they will never feel heavy at the sight of destruction I will shelter your heart to keep it beating As we watch as the words I could never say flutter at your fingertips like moths with broken wings The world does not understand love nor the poets that create it.

1374 A Saucer holds a Cup In sordid human Life But in a Squirrel’s estimate A Saucer hold a Loaf. A Table of a Tree Demands the little King And every Breeze that run along His Dining Room do swing. His Cutlery—he keeps Within his Russer Lips— To see it flashing when he dines Do Birmingham eclipse— Convicted—could we be Of our Minutiae The smallest Citizen that flies Is heartier than we—

A Saucer holds a Cup
By paper-lantern light flames colour a snow crystals dance, beautifully enchanting, to the distant sound of singing; Joyous songs of celebration, lulling all in revelry. Each note heard in silent reverence, beneath the skeletal canopy of majestic oak spread. Where from amongst the damp branches, wise old saucer eyes calls "Ubi? Ubi?", heralding a cacophony of wide-eyed whispers This afternoon, sweet twilight guides our paths as we search on ever onward journeys unknown; Our arms collecting firewood, to fill the empty hearths of others. Unaware of the cold hands, we are, when there's such warmth in our hearts. We toil within the stillness, snow falling softly, and covering the    crisp ground. From deep beneath the dazzling pure white, tiny hibernating animists    blink wide from the                               warmth of hidden    woodland beds.                        Gently,             sweep the                   12 droplets                              of ice from                 all our eyes, Sol,                                                 as we cough        darkness                                                      from our      lungs,                                               watching the sparkles     of no                                                                     matter,  floating                   in the  paper-             lantern light                    to scatter across     this   Solstice   sky, illuminating our fates, as cold  snowflake hearts twinkle like falling stars, unseen, turning, embracing the return of the Light

As I wait, I see on an uncomfortably high stool the grandmother perching opposite the comfortably bored teenager replete in his distressed Ramones tee shirt and ripped white jeans. She holds her black coffee with both hands, while he plays with the long spoon in his tall glass of hot chocolate, her eyes focused on the top of his head, his engrossed in the puddle of brown milk around his saucer. Below the music, she pleads for a friendship that he shows no interest in until she reaches into her bag and emerges with perhaps something that he’s been waiting for – And beyond the counter, shielded by formica, the percolators and stacked cups, the apprentice barista drops his tray and from the back two men in ill-fitting suits give a half-hearted cheer, while his boss withholds her anger in front of the paying customers, but judging by her face she would gladly take her protégé by his stained apron and string him up – I think this isn’t the first time she’s taken the cost of breakages out of his salary. And I’ve missed what it is grandma has presented to her grandson – all I can see is a suggestion of his fingers playing with silver, a ring perhaps? The hot chocolate is pushed aside and his shoulders straighten.   She still looks uncertain, and the seconds drag until his face seems to soften. He looks up and mouths what might be a thank you.   And he doesn’t withdraw his hand when she covers it with her own.

There was a snail (named Dale) with a very long tail who ventured off into the world. He said to himself (Dale the snail) I'd love to meet a bootiful goil. So in a flash from space, with mucus running down her face, came an alien creature called Joan, She saw a silver line (it was a snail trail) and followed it to see where it goes. And far in ...the distance she saw in an instance at the end of the snail trail sparkling in the sun- A slimy and sweet creature she'd love to meet with a shell on his back for a home. She said:"I do declare, you look dashing and fair" as bubbles oozed from her eyes. Dale just blushed, as his face lit up, and said: "aw you're just saying that you sassy young blob of an alien gawjus sweet thing with no hair :)" She looked at this tiny dream of a slobber, he was in awe at her globber. But their hearts sank at their difference in size. She was glandular large like a bright yellow barge and he was as small as a splarge. A stick insect saw - the tragedy of it all and came up with a very cunning plan. He knew a wizard once who ate snails for lunch, they could trick him to changing her small... As he told them the tale, their faces went pale but their love was too strong for the fear. So they slithered and shlozzered to Joan's flying saucer to find the castle of Wizzy the **** The wizard was waiting with his eyes full of hating and a knife and a fork in each hand. There was garlic and salt that he took from his vault and he drooled on his beard as he sang: "Alien Shpeegle with shnails in shmeegle, a delightful shurprishe for a man! Groggy my groach with shome shlime on my toasht" and he pranced and danced with his band. The spacecraft landed, unexpectant of ambush, the couple wanderd on in. Wizzy swung from a rafter and trapped Dale in a corner, and said: "My you'll go well with my Shtew!" Joan got mad and rolled on to her lad and ****** the wizard into her goo. She suddenly felt all tingly as she turned into a twinky, there was nothing more she could do. The Wizard escaped and poor Dale met his fate, and was smeared on the twinky sliced in two. Wizzy gobbled them up with some glee in his cup, and then succumbed to food poisoning goo. So it seemed that it ended on that dark cold September, for the lovers who's loving was doomed... But on a planet far away at the early break of day two souls bubbled in primordial stew. An amoeba named Dale and an amoeba named Joan were floating in bubbles of gas, So deep the attraction -the magnetized action, they could now be together at last.

I held his hand firmly on the fairground. There were ferris wheel and rocking boat even a flying saucer of rides worth a few pennies but the boy embracing that unlucky age had his eyes stuck on the shining silver blue beaming behind the sparking glass full with rotor blades ready to take off dreaming a ride to the sky past the high tent of the circus over the tallest coconut tree into the haze of stars where to only lonely pilots could fly for being loved and understood and not questioned for the cracked voice for the thin hairlines on upper lip for glancing at the girls but inducted into the team of thirteen for perpetually traversing between stars on free rides into freedom worth a lifetime.

Matilda listens to make sure they’ve gone out knowing Mr Doozie the cat is licking his milk the slurping sound fills the now silent room but she has to be sure her aunt and uncle have gone she can’t allow Moses to come in by the backdoor until they’re long gone and in the town buying and selling their wares she places her hands on her head and closes her eyes to focus her listening to close out Mr Doozie’s sounds the saucer of milk being pushed across the floor the purring but she cannot hear them now cannot hear their voices can’t hear Auntie’s whines and Uncle’s bellows can’t smell Uncle’s pipe or the aroma of his farts or Auntie’s sour body odour and sniffs the air and puts one leg up on the chair and lets the skirt fall back revealing her fine thigh and underwear something for Moses to see and get excited about not that he needs any encouragement especially after the last time he came around when her aunt and uncle had gone off for the day to market on the old bus and Moses had sneaked in the back door his eyes peering around the door and she saying They’ve gone out you can come in and he did and while Mr Doozie sat on the end of the bed watching disinterestedly Moses had kissed her all over her body and after games of foreplay he’d entered her with subtleness and moved in a slow motion so that the bed only moved and rattled slightly and did not disturbed Mr Doozie and they had only just dressed and was letting Moses out the back door when Auntie came in the front door followed by Uncle with his arms laden with shopping and moaning about the prices and the shop girls and how there is no manners anymore and she feeling Moses’ ***** easing down her thigh and stood there with her innocent stare but this time Moses would need to be quicker as they had only gone to town and wouldn’t be long and if they returned earlier and caught her and Moses undressed and ******* with Mr Doozie sitting watching she doesn’t know what they’d say or do although knowing Uncle he’d chase off Moses with his walking stick and tan her hide until she cried and cried but Moses hasn’t come and she listens out hushing Mr Doozie with a shush shush and scratches her thigh and strains her ears was that him? She sighs opening her eyes sitting up looking towards the door waiting anticipating feeling the body’s urge the body’s need wanting Moses to come through the door and hurry with her up the stairs followed no doubt by Mr Doozie and quickly ********** and into her bed and setting aside the kissing and messing get on with the ******* but the door remains closed the room is almost silent apart from Mr Doozie’s licking and purring and the soft tick tocking of the grandfather clock and her heart thumping boom boom boom boom like a small drum all around the room and inside her head and she disappointed frustrated with no *** with Moses just a small empty bed.

A gob of squash in a saucer with a hub let a carrefour marque with an apple ding in swirls of romance heading there a crowd of superfluousness as a hip is king and a patch through the field that roll lushly on green for this round mesh while exquisitness hit so sweet in a shade of sky where ablaze in silky attire with her brazen desire again.

A Crown
i am over without the easy| sometimes a cup without a saucer| often shoes without socks| but mostly i am legs running and arms whirling in a hurry to escape the day| in a rush to fill my head with bouncy thoughts| in a flurry of wishing flat words into fantastic stories| of turning grey into cerulean, and rust into claret i am questions with more than one answer| questions which play on my mind| answers which go around and around| like petals of eccentricity whelmed by an eddy| and trying to escape the day in a hurry
