Hey lets start this thing and gain a little mnemonic Cuz the teachers always explaining things so dull and robotic But you got it, just trust this rhyme and I promise you'll have it Let me teach you the equation for the function quadratic It goes A, X and a 2 up high Add that to a B multiplied with a Y Put a plus sign and add the third term, the C And set all that equal to a 0 bee It's that easy, with that you can plot the graph That will show you where the ball went and its flightpath See the value of X shows where the line hits the axis To illustrate where the ball was caught and where it was passed It's cuts of cake to find this data with a formula rap So keep in mind these fresh rhymes to the beat of the clap You set X on the left, follow with an equal sign Put the next little sect about a dividing line And that little piece starts with a negative b Add and subtract square root of B high 2 minus 4AC Then divide what you get by 2 times A If you forget this part man, your whole answers at stake But if you follow my rules, and do all of this rap's math I guarantee the next reports gonna say that you passed

The Quadratic Function Conjunction
the words we softly whispered in a language of our own as we silently ruled our kingdom from our pillow thrones i'm cradled in your arms and the room is dimly lit as my soldiers lay down their arms and i begin to let you in novels of dreams and childhood years tales of sleepless nights reports of all my irrational fears which i confessed by dim candlelight thoughts that my mind had never before heard tumbled from my mouth- i was choking on the brutality of all my honest words and the ideas which you were provoking like birds in a cage, my feelings trapped for too long and the dust on this page had been there all along the first time i was hurt i swore it was my last but i begin to revert with my red wine filled glass as we slowly drift off into our peaceful slumber both enveloped by the night i did, in fact, begin to wonder if i should confess love by dim candlelight

Once it was garbage, refuse, trash. A jumble of foul-smelling detritus hauled to the curb And removed by sinewy men Contributing a harder day's work Than anyone else in the city. Our energy now removes its entropy. Sorted and classified into coloured bins, We add order to our rejected matter. Specialized trucks arrive to collect The date-synchronized bins Emptying them into functionally compatible mechanisms. Most desolate is the black box of paper and cardboard. Brochures and flyers, old magazines and letters. Annual reports and cereal boxes. Once these were enameled with crafted sentences, Painstakingly typed, edited and debated, On the monitors of copywriters. Now they are just millions of words printed on flattened fibre substrates, Jumbled into the bruised and scarred black box, Entering into the recycling stream. The nouns and adjectives, Prepositions and gerunds, All jumble together. Fragments of precisely-crafted sentences and paragraphs Are gradually broken, shredded and pulped. Incomplete thoughts, broken phrases Like those of a rejected stranger In an lonely, unknown country. Then words without context. Then just disparate letters Are all that remain. Waste Disposal
Lil ghetto boy There's more to the world than the hood There's places to play besides a broken down park There's places where it's safe to go out in the dark You can do anything on this earth You can change the world forever Lil Ghetto boy There's more to read than reports of everybody getting shot You shouldn't need to throw up a set to walk safely around, you should not Don't let your beginning determine your end Lil Ghetto boy, you have me as a friend

Lil Ghetto boy
Shopping outfashioned hunting and gathering, Processed beats fresh, Groceries replaced fruit trees, Malls superceded forests, Churches outnumbered temples, Countries dissolved to territories, Places devolved to areas, Paths broke down into highways, Commodity converted to currency, Laborers submit to machinery, Masters engage in humbug, Apprentices reduced to students, Knowledge downgraded to education, And education is deducted to a show of grades, While schools are the stages, And the corporate world is the bigger runway, With work slumped to employment, Wisdom demoted to profession, Where in jobs are the only future, Careers are the only success, Clicking and pressing buttons are skills, Computers are correspondent to brains, Information refers to news reports, Intelligence means up-to-dateness, Browsing is preferable to reading, Studying is in demand more than learning, Viewing things flashed on screens yields awareness, Transportation is to traveling, As buying is to the three basic needs, And needs embody worldly possessions, Worldly possessions define happiness, Happiness is due to selfishness, Selfishness is traced to the lack of love, The lack of love draws from the lack of faith, Because faith stands for religion, And religion stands for membership, Where politicians are the gods, Celebrities are the preachers, And the preachers are the enemies, While networking is equal to friendship, And connection equates to communication, Experiences require photos, Memories necessitate uploading, Souvenirs can be downloaded, Smartphones are substitute to pets, Gadgets are toys, Holding controllers is playing, Watching TV is exploring the great outdoors, Internet is recreation, And technology is a way of life; While humans are scientists, Nature is a guinea pig, And the earth is a laboratory, Where prices are misidentified for worth, Processes are miscalculated as progress, Impoverishment is confused with improvement, And getting more is mistaken as getting better; And then we wonder why Homes have become houses, Family members have become boarders, Nations are separate species Composed of tired and hungry citizens, Children are monsters Who are biochemically rascals, Teenagers are zombies Whose adventures lead to delinquency, Adults are robots Who just clang when touched, And life is not so simple As how it is said to be.

Glance at the bullied survivor with no hair left at all, Look twice and you'll notice She's still standing tall. Watch the former gang leader, walking submissively, Look twice and see the trail of tears, As he searches for the winding road to recovery. Observe the old man scrawl a name in the snow, Look twice and see a father, Mourning his murdered daughter buried down below. Admire the woman you love for sure, Look twice and realize that, Due to her past abuse, she's still insecure. Witness the beating of a man done in vain, Beneath his unruly hair and dark eyes, look twice- Don't you see pain? I recognized the quiet woman, generous to the core. I looked twice and saw my mother, Still tortured by memories of the Vietnam War. Dismiss the endless news reports of crime and abuse, Look twice and understand, Violence starts with the power to choose. Awaken and see the world through new eyes, Look twice at society and find out, You've been telling yourself lies. See the disabled, the victims, those who made the wrong choices, Look twice and listen, Now can you hear their agonized voices? I realized the world was never the cordial society I'd dreamt it to be. I looked twice and found out, Stopping violence begins with me.

LOOK TWICE- an anti-violence poem
The baby goat's mother was shot. And I was forced to listen to it cry. Forever forlorn and distraught And i stood there- hands covering ears Traveling back in time ---------------------------------------------------- Your mothers heart stopped And I was forced to listen to you cry. Lost in a huge world, more alone And i stood there- hands covering ears I heard you through the vents "My mom is dead! My mom is dead" Falling to the floor I wished I still dreamt But she had called me before her bed I heard her voice message months later You still cried yourself to sleep at night Sleeping with earplugs....I wish I didn't bake Because I thought I killed her that night Peanut butter cookies: She taught me the recipe. And two days before she vanished, I brought her a dozen. Autopsy reports showed an hour before death; She took two bites of my cookies- Went upstairs and her heart stopped. Coincidentally exactly four years later, I finally made peanut butter cookies again And the smell of sweet peanut butter roasting Stopped my heart

Peanut Butter Lye
I wear the letters NYU sprawled across my chest as my individuality is asphyxiated. Lungs choke under the weight of the added pressure.
The thought of college plus my complexion, Equals complexed looks that ponder my intellectually-heightened direction.

Will you think a little bit more of me, with my conformity?

Attempts to better myself meet enough ignorance to even cloud the vision of God. Segregation and alienation cause mental spasms the strength of lightening rods.

I guess you're just a product of the environment to which you were exposed.

But I'm always trying to fight the stereotype that black people are ultimately foes.

I am the ant and the kids of rich parents are magnifying glasses.
Cremating me with the solar power of son's who were taught that their existence was worth more than mine.

I lay motionless, in bottomless quick sand pits, itching to alleviate my stomach stitch, engulfed by set standards that could not be met.

I am tired of trying to be what you'd like to see. Astute, respectable, young black man-just so you can approve of me and hopefully think that we are not all "up to no good."

 Say it loud,
I'm black
And I'm, Not going to lie, The proud part is kinda hard to say.
Because I walk down the street and see my face in the homeless everyday.

I fill the prisons and I'm famous when the news reports crime.
And when I show up early to interviews, they look confused to see that I, Don’t run on Colored People's Time.

I don't hate black but I hate the fact that black means that sometimes I have to find alternate routes to success.

While other people's roads are already paved, I suffer from all the stress.

I try my best but I'm always categorized as less, then a man.

And I'm trying to change perceptions but I still feel like a visitor on American land

And the poor are physically trapped so I relate mentally.
We both suffer from the oppression and accept the hatred like it was meant to be.

Society has led you to believe that blacks are not worthy of equality

But take a long, hard look into my eyes and tell me that you don’t see my humanity.

Bricks and mortar, steel and boards, Phone poles lined with power cords, on Pothole streets, where engines roar, 'Neath smoggy skies, where jet planes soar, Where penny merchants peddle wares, And news reports pretend they care, Where vagrants sleep, and children stare, And people work for lives not theirs, That's life in the jungle, adrift in the herd, Where terrestrial beasts envy free flying birds Where the pundits stand polished, and speak empty words, And the artists paint portraits, while posted on curbs, Where the men push carts, full of empty cans, And the women spend paychecks, for spray-on tans, Where the truckers drive loads, 'cross a thousand mile span, To appease the great gods of supply and demand, Asphalt and tarmac, girders and glass,   Terrarium trees in cemented sod grass, Ripe with the stench of exhaust fumes and gas, As the choir lines up for the 10 o'clock mass, While the brokers all scream, at a packed stock exchange, As the veterans in wheelchairs sit begging for change, That's life in the jungle, it's just a big game, But remember you're playing, lest you go insane.

Life in the Jungle
Everyday there’s a new story A new plea that goes ignored An outcry for protection That the government “can’t afford” A community is broken A family in bits A mother holds her dead son It didn’t need to be like this “My thoughts and prayers are with you” What’s that gonna do? It’s easy enough to stand back When it isn’t affecting you People post on social media About the horrors of the crime But how can they truly comment When their school isn’t next in line? A march to show the ‘big men’ What their little minds can’t see Real humans suffering At the word “death” they turn and flee A 15-year-old boy bleeds His life already done He wants someone to hold him His last word escapes, “Mom” This is real, this is wrong This is happening now Children scared of education In case they get shot down So, now forget the hashtags Now forget the thoughts Now we need action Not more ****** news reports.

Gun Violence
A Few lines etched where no words give weight. Good riddance say the veterans Of a nation gone sour with grief Like a lemon slice evaporating onto the tongue of the sick. But when the young yearn for White Nights, The old claim they are blinding lights to the cold sugary substance That supplants an easy path. The bullithole rush of renewal and loneliness and progress thwarted and abandoned, Inertia seeping through Into a cold summer's day. Between the cursing slant of sleek paved roadstrips, And the burning briars that thresh the border's haunt, What is picture postcard emerald Is in that same instance soviet architect gray. These are the sleepers bereft of the dream whose twenty-five stories high or ghost estates are domes to cast out the howling banshees, those suffrage of the real to be re-thought as mere props which surround the haloed glowing screen. So sheen the Motherland glows in untarnished eyes Familiar solely with glass behemoths parading with their reflections In grey water-drizzled streets, Only to be replaced by iridescent rainbows that foster a hope. A hope that was packaged and sold two decades back Since it was not worth carrying into the New World. The water-trough falls to where the electric line banishes, connects a spike, "rejuvenate the breakfast table"-some far-off God reports, Hades still waiting, Intel-chip Blue, epiphany at the gates.

Emerald and Scarlet as They Merge Into Grey
My body is the training ground for All of the reject demons My inner demons failed to qualify as the right sort of fight To match with any worthwhile struggles so My inner demons are over dramatic children      They do not wage wars      They throw tantrums      They stand inside my temples and pound the walls      When they do not get what they want      And shriek ringing into my ears until they turn blue      Then fall asleep when they get tired      Forgetting that they were supposed to be upset My inner demons are pretentious      They call themselves demons      When they are more like imps      They tickle at anxiety with the nerve to call it an attack      And separate velcro and seams with the audacity to say that      They broke something      Then press on my heart      Daring to call it an ache My inner demons are clumsy      They walk with their toes curling around my eyelashes      And slip and spill their handfuls of tears      At inopportune moments As I tremble due to the ones      That have tripped and tangled themselves      In my heartstrings and vocal cords      Causing me to grasp my rib cage in desperate attempts to reach them      And tear apart the inconveniences My inner demons are shy      They sway in my veins to the rhythmic pulse      With clawed hands outstretched to the blue walled sky      Cautious to never leave a scratch through my skin      They dance on nerve endings and muscle tissue      With footwork just gentle enough to not summon bruises      And hold themselves still against my capillaries      As if their presence might distract my blood from      Its daily circulation My inner demons are hoarders      They over-stuff the filing cabinets in my brain      With reports and analysis of too many situations      And pick up old emotions and hide them in the recesses      Of each ventricle and aorta      Creating pseudo-space for newer, stranger, replicas      Then pack extra breaths into my lungs      Storing "just in case" inhalations and overused sighs      They insulate their homes with extra calories and extra clothes      Hiding until they can forget themselves My inner demons are moody      They like to stitch up new wounds with the thorns of roses      And pry open old ones with feathers      They tie my tongue with pages of foreign textbooks      They tie my tongue in gauze and cotton      They tie my tongue with other tongues      And pins and needles and teeth and drawstrings      They are self depreciating and they know that they      Are not worthy of their title My inner demons are pathetic      I suppose they're right where they belong

Emerald and Scarlet As They Merge Into Grey
1. Spread claims you are the only one who can stop corrupt politicians and their dependence on the rich (even though you yourself belong to the rich) 2. Spread lies and insults about anyone who might look like a serious opponent 3. Once you are in power, continue 1. & 2. and put your rich friends into influential positions in state offices and courts, give tax breaks to the rich and claim that everyone benefits from them. Declare any information that runs counter to your lies „fake news“. 4. Invent threats to the security and well-being of the nation and then claim you are the one who can solve all the problems by strict measures, like building a 2,000 mile wall against those criminal immigrants that threaten your people – what the „fake news“ reports as a few thousand refugees from neighboring countries who flee from misery and persecution and crime and hope to get asylum in your country of 350 million. 5. Cut your aid programs for the home countries of those resfugees so that the situation there worsens even more and even more people will try to run for a better life, and you can rhetorically justify inhuman security measures at your borders. 6. On a different field, isolate your country internationally, be the elefant in the china shop, break or end international agreements, destabilize whole regions, and then threaten to send the military – all of which, you tell your voters, makes your country great again. 7. Start trade wars with old global partners, accusing them of taking advantage of your countrty, and when your own economy suffers from such idiocies, calm your afflicted followers with federal subsidies that jolt the nationl deficit to singular heights. 8. Fire (or mob into retirement) any critical person in your government until all your officials speak with your voice. 9. Look around for a worthy cause to be the focus of your consoldidated power. 10. Start a world war and lose it.

If I could be a fly on Einstein’s wall I’d buzz about from chair to curtain watch him check out plans and gadgets                                             and scratch remarks on his papers. When the clock edged to noon his stomach would growl, he’d fold up the prints and say, “It’s a relatively short walk to the café.” With Albert out I’d take the run of the place - practicing banks and dips and vertical lifts. I’d munch on scraps of Brie and fowl left fused to the edge of his table. When the tumblers turned I’d buzz back to my wall, eager to witness whatever this sage would chance to say. He’d go to his desk to file reports and stack them neatly into a tray. Without warning he’d rise from his chair scattering papers across the floor. “MASS AND ENERGY ARE ONE, ” he’d shout, - “CRUSHED TOGETHER BY TIME! ” I’d buzz and swoop and fly circles and loops and taxi in on his collar. I’d beat my wings to cool his brain. But wait…Whose voice do I hear? Oh, it’s you gentle reader. “Stop, hold it right there, ****** pest! It couldn’t have happened that way! Have you no shame or respect for God’s truth? ” But I’d stare you down with my compound eye and scornfully twitch my wings. Consider this, troubled sir, you’re the one scolding a talking fly. The Fly on Einstein's Wall
Black is your coffee Toasted and buttered your bread Half past seven, A quick peck on the cheek off you go to the bank one solid day you spend at the bank a loyal servant of the bank of commerce Your lover number one, the bank..always the bank... you'd be at the bank till all workers gone home you'd be at your desk checking the accounts making it balance , counting the profits recovering the loss... If there is an award for the banker of the year The outstanding achievement and the bla... bla... bla... The winner is you, without a doubt... While you're making your accounts pretty Perfecting your financial reports The dinner is getting too cold The kids are growing up so fast   Your cat is getting too old Your wife is sulking too long Your house is getting too far Your family is slowly vanishing... not physically of course... the souls of love and life is  disappearing little by little... Dear banker, If you happen to listen to this banker's wife blues...today Hope you'd throw the balance sheets in the basket and sit with your wife and kids in a garden, drinking a cup of English tea Eating some home made biscuits... How much bonus is more worthwhile than watching your kids growing up before your eyes... kissing your wife good night tasting the love doses... Tell me, after listening to all these? Will you still worry about your imbalance bank accounts?

Banker's Wife Blues
Talk-show queen Oprah Winfrey with her entourage is going to Australia and it’s timely now for a quick Colbert Report on the state of the colony of Australia Colony? Yes, that’s right Australia is still a British colony - How else do you explain it? as the Head of Government in Australia is still the British Monarchy and her Majesty, the Queen of Great Britain, has her representative a Governor-General in Australia; and the Aussie national media faithfully reports that Prince Philip is a God in some remote island and the TV stations broadcast visions of which British Prince kissed which of their latest fancy And so, Oprah, welcome to the Colony Ah, yes, and the Chinese migrants coming in are surprised to learn of Australia’s status at citizenship ceremonies and the young man explains to his grandma: “Oh, Foreign Devil still control Australia; sad, Chairman Mao did not Liberate Australia.” And Indian migrants, much to their disappointment are heard to remark: “Oh no – does this mean we still have to go through another fight for freedom as in 1947?” But then they are consoled by the fact that a Gandhi only comes once in 200 years so we can all still get on with our lives and the nation will continue to eat burgers and enjoy barbecues and hop like kangaroos until such things may happen… Ah well, dear talk-show Queen Oprah Winfrey and her entourage this ends our report on the sovereign nation down under: Happy Stay in Her British Majesty’s Colony

Yes, that’s right Australia is still a British colony - How else do you explain it? as the Head of Government in Australia is still the British Monarchy and her Majesty, the Queen of Great Britain, has her representative a Governor-General in Australia; and the Aussie national media faithfully reports that Prince Philip is a God in some remote island and the TV stations broadcast visions of which British Prince kissed which of their latest fancy And so, Oprah, welcome to the Colony Ah, yes, and the Chinese migrants coming in are surprised to learn of Australia’s status at citizenship ceremonies and the young man explains to his grandma: “Oh, Foreign Devil still control Australia; sad, Chairman Mao did not Liberate Australia.” And Indian migrants, much to their disappointment are heard to remark: “Oh no – does this mean we still have to go through another fight for freedom as in 1947?” But then they are consoled by the fact that a Gandhi only comes once in 200 years so we can all still get on with our lives and the nation will continue to eat burgers and enjoy barbecues and hop like kangaroos until such things may happen… Ah well, dear talk-show Queen Oprah Winfrey and her entourage this ends our report on the sovereign nation down under: Happy Stay in Her British Majesty’s Colony

near death experience
One morning, I decided to ask people what their favorite myth is. I asked them what myth did they think was the greatest, and the one that made a huge impact on them. The most interesting one, the myth that would keep you wanting for more. Some people said vampires, some people said dragons, some said the origin of the world, and of course, most of them said the famous Greek mythology. And I asked some, what myth do they think is the most unlikely thing to happen, what is the myth that will never be real? And I was taken aback when some said their favorite myth was **** culture, followed with laughter. As if it’s a myth, as if it’s fiction, as if it’s something that isn’t real. **** culture is a myth. It’s not real. It’s not happening. Apparently, it’s just a work of fiction for some people. Apparently it is a myth when it’s happening everyday. It is a myth when you report it to them, and instead of asking “Are you okay?”, the first question they will ask is “What were you wearing?”. Because your skirt was the reason, your sleeveless top was the one that gave them permission. And when you told them you were wearing sweatshirt and pants, they will ask you “Were you drinking?”. When someone took away something that is yours without consent and you’ll be the one blamed. Because you were wearing shorts, because you were drinking, because you were just outside. *When we teach women everything about not getting ***** but we don’t teach men to simply not **** When our bodies are nothing to you but to objectify. When you see us and think the word sexualize.* When they asked you whether you said no or stop, and if you didn’t, you liked it. It was consensual. But you never said yes, and it’s not **** right? It is not real when people shame the victim, when the help people are giving you are words such as **** ***** and instead of calling you a survivor you will be known as “the girl who was asking for it”. *It is a work of fiction when nothing happens to the ****** or when some even refuse to call that person a ****** You will see headlines describing him as an athlete, as someone who has scholarship, any good thing but ****** *It is a myth when the ****** runs free, but the victim is still suffering and constantly being shamed. It is a myth when the world thinks men who are getting ***** are weak men, when they don’t think the consent of men are also important.* When people continue to joke about something that can ruin someone else’s life. Apparently all of these things aren’t real, these things aren’t happening. But how could one person even think that **** culture is a myth? That **** culture doesn’t exist? *It’s not like the trojan war, because it’s far more chaotic. It destroys and kills people. It lets bad people win and victims suffer. It’s not like vampires who don’t sleep and **** people’s blood, instead this is even more dangerous than vampires. This normalizes something dangerous, something horrible.* And the people who do it, who contribute to it, and who do nothing to stop it? Are worse than monsters in mythology. And why would we even call it a myth when we learn something good in myth? When myth teaches us something good in life? **** culture is not a myth, **** culture is happening everywhere. *When you turn on the television and see comedians joking  about **** when people call the **** victim they know a **** when people don’t believe someone when ***** reports it to them, when until now, **** is still considered inevitable.* **** culture is not a myth, **** culture is real, **** culture is happening. And they say **** culture is part of the reality that we have to face, but what do we do to things that bring us no good? To things that damage our reality? *We do everything we can to stop them, to destroy them, to crush them. And that needs to happen to **** culture,*  now.

people's favourite myth

Watching Genocide
I am on a journey   and where it leads, I do not know the bends and twists within my soul leave my words and deeds feeling hollow Am I the man I reflect or a monster laying in wait conflicting reports have come and the doubt never abates I try so hard to be the best I know how to be childish remnants stripped away I'm left to navigate these canals of misery Am I victim or villain a product of an earlier fate or is that just an excuse to unleash the demons and become the thing  I truly hate this battle never ends....

a stop at STARBUCKS
That familiar sound of a helicopter approaching out of nowhere its search light focused. Down onto a desolute and lonely moorland quickly joined by a second one. But what is the true intention of their task as a figure looks up wearing a mask. No ordinary being sitting there in isolation as soldiers approach with guns. Nearby a circular craft of unknown origin lays damaged amongst the grass. Away from the view of a watching public the covert operation is slick. Taken alive the alien is roughly removed put into a third chopper nearby. Two other bodies are bagged and tagged the sight is cleared of any evidence. Reports of an object seen falling denied once again the military have lied. How many incidents have really occured the public know nothing about? The real truth of an extra terrestial existence rather than endless misinformation. Was Roswell fact or fiction what is area fifty one when will the real truth be done? The Foureyed Poet. Helicopter
You’re wishing plus wanting to win the other side remove your pride, you untied tidal pool, the wide subdivide of these paper pages. Unrelenting numbers remind you of the next stages, taking you wildly to Namibia, surrendering you to Zimbabwe, the terminal station. The narration vocalizes the translation of quotations, your obligation to the violation of the rules, the regulations, vulgarization of spoken word. Pretty paintings plaster typecasts, the pitter-patter of pity’s pretty ****** quickly shifting refurbished velvet sofas. Overcast symphonies outlast witty recast stanzas, scores with notes naturally quote verses romancing seltzer spines noticing the negotiation of sore throats. Oblivion’s oblivious to the people, obnoxiously obscene with syncopated saturation of public vital signs. You’re the vain strain of virus photocopying yourself within skin, waste your sin on tattoos trapped on shins safety pins selecting prints pinning sets of twins to tanned wrappers protecting official reports. The ossuary welcomes records printed on thick paper suspiciously missing skeleton swords. Writing stories reversed while tipsy, quickly preforming risky poetry smog, sweetly omitting secret words, trying to spell simply without the proper prologue.
