I'd like to think that she's thinking: "How far have I fallen?" As she sits on the corner of her bed, Listening to the soft buzz of his battery-powered toothbrush. I imagine her, Running her fingers through her clumsy, coagulated hair. Glancing at her chipped, crimson toe nails, Then looking to her class ring, Made entirely of imitation ingredients, Wondering when is the proper time to trash it. When she was still a friend of mine, I never saw her wear make up, I never saw her show off in tight jeans or low-cut tees. But as he spews the toothpaste into the sink, Skinny jeans lay tussled on the floor, Next to the side door that leads to his sister's side room. The make up she wears is from the night before. It's skewed and shows evidence of running, Like a wasted watercolor. I'd like to think he isn't that handsome, And that he's obsessed with Paul Walker. I'd like to think when he re-enters the room, He's in grey sweatpants, He's wearing a black tank top, With a Confederate flag backdrop, With two barely dressed babes looking ****** in the foreground. His hair, unwashed and greasy. He rubs his belly, And bears an idiot grin on his face. Looking like he just learned how to smile at this pace. "Did it feel good?" feel good. After he asks, he scans her body, Beginning at those crimson toes, And Ending at that clumsy hair. Every second he scans, He still wears that drawn-on Idiot grin. I'd like to think at this point she thinks of me. Of my warnings and prophesy. Her eyes start at the chipped toe nails, Course over her tanning bed-inspired legs. And finally reach the only thing she has on, A t-shirt that belongs to his sister. A t-shirt, when given by him, It was mentioned, "thanks, mister". Though she didn't satisfy all his redneck intentions, During last night's expedition. He still paid her back with a morning one-sided session. "It felt good" she says. In reference to the ten minute ********** When her body was strummed and plucked, Underneath his sister's Terri Clark T-shirt. As she sits in the filth and the ****** fallout, On a bed that is six days ***** While he is grinning, Being everything but wordy. I'd like to think she's thinking: "How far have I fallen?"

Municipal Gum was written by Oodjeroo Noonecaal. Municipal Gum is about the changes in society and the tendency of people to want to control everything. Oodjeroo uses various techniques to convey this idea. At the beginning of the poem Oodjeroo is addressing the tree. This immediately creates empathy for both the tree and her people. By the last line she has emphasised this with the pronoun “us” to show that they suffer a similar fate. This poem expresses how life in Australia has changes especially for Aboriginal people. In the first half of the poem Oodjeroo is talking about how life was for her and others. It explores the changes in society and the displacement of the Aboriginal people from their land. “Whose head hung…Its hopelessness”, the author uses this as further re-iteration of the immorality of the situation and by the use of analogy comparing the tree to her people to further emphasise the shame and lack control of that the Europeans have inflicted upon her and the environment. Oodjeroo uses extended metaphor technique in the very first line of the poem ‘Hard bitumen around your feet’. This means that the gumtree has been placed in the city scape where it is suppressed and not allowed to spread out and be unique in its own way. This is clear and immanently direct link to the pain and suffering endured by the Aborigines post European settlement. Oodjeroo uses vivid language to present these ideas. For example the use of the word castrated is very effective. The connotation of the word is very demeaning. With castration often comes a sense of a loss of pride and power. The word castration is symbolic of how Oodjeroo feels the European have treated Aboriginal people and the environment. Castration also refers to the fact that what is done is done. Nothing can undo what they did and the damaged they have caused. Other symbolism includes the title “Municipal Gum”, municipal meaning community, implies that the gumtree belongs to the community. One of the vast differences between European and Aboriginal law is that Aboriginal people did not believe in the ownership of land or of animals and plants. Municipal Gum is a reference to the Europeans assumptions that everything is theirs to own and control. The rhetorical question, “O fellow citizen, What have they done to us?” is the conclusion of the implications that have been made throughout the poem. Oodjeroo, is advocating for her people and all things wronged by the controlling behaviour of the Europeans. Rhetorical questions are used to provoke thought and to stimulate a pre-determined response. “What have they done to us?” They have “castrated, broken… strapped and buckled” and ultimately changed things to a point that they cannot be fixed. In conclusion, Municipal Gum is a poem about the constrictions and change that the European invaders forced upon the Aboriginal community and the environment she believes that the Europeans have deemed themselves ever powerful and practice their power in a manner that is immoral.

I still reference you in conversations. I still smell your flannels. I wonder how soft your hair is today. I kiss the walls of the shower just to hear the same pop our lips would make. I wish I had endless pictures of your collar bones and eyes. I wish I had endless access to your thighs and chest and that dot on your neck. When I *** I say your name. Your voice recordings aren't the same.  I want you to call and put me to sleep with your breath and I want this all without the repercussions. I want you to be my friend. And I want the benefit of you being my lover again.

'Friends with Benefits' don't benefit at all.
"That's so gay!" A use of Slang and slander In The Wrong Direction. If they use Gay as in Happy The Way Most Have Forgotten It would be a good expression. But if they use it As a reference to Homosexuality Then I Don't Get It I Won't Get It. You can't be more gay Than someone else. There's no scale Or Chart To measure Gayness And it's a bad expression So gay is Bad? No. Gay is not bad. People who say "That's so gay." They are bad

That's So Gay
i have racked my mind trying to figure this whole thing out the staying, the going the threads we claim hold us here & the people who've stopped to play a tune on them i sometimes relate it to waking up in waist deep snow in our former selves the us we wish we could give one another the children we've sat on the shelves trapped, like the looks we leave behind in snow globes i sometimes imagine ships dragging the bottom to the sea of "me" for sleep & pieces of my old self to sell to the new one like history doesn't repeat itself it gets me wondering if you too want an apology from the rain or if you dream of burning family photo albums and wearing the ashes like perfume if you're anything like me how i hope god chokes on memories of me blowing out candles as a child i know i shouldn't reference my reader   but don't you know, the only difference between alone & lonely is you? that if my hands could talk the only thing they'd be able to say is "dear god we've missed you" and how can you tell me it isn't love when even the rain refuses to fall in places where i've kissed you i remember the day you found my smile at a yard sale it reminds me of how you'll leave i wonder if when you go you'll tell yourself the person in the rear view mirror is closer than they appear

The prologues are over. It is a question, now, Of final belief. So, say that final belief Must be in a fiction. It is time to choose. I That obsolete fiction of the wide river in An empty land; the gods that Boucher killed; And the metal heroes that time granulates - The philosophers' man alone still walks in dew, Still by the sea-side mutters milky lines Concerning an immaculate imagery. If you say on the hautboy man is not enough, Can never stand as a god, is ever wrong In the end, however naked, tall, there is still The impossible possible philosophers' man, The man who has had the time to think enough, The central man, the human globe, responsive As a mirror with a voice, the man of glass, Who in a million diamonds sums us up. II He is the transparence of the place in which He is and in his poems we find peace. He sets this peddler's pie and cries in summer, The glass man, cold and numbered, dewily cries, "Thou art not August unless I make thee so." Clandestine steps upon imagined stairs Climb through the night, because his cuckoos call. III One year, death and war prevented the jasmine scent And the jasmine islands were ****** martyrdoms. How was it then with the central man? Did we Find peace? We found the sum of men. We found, If we found the central evil, the central good. We buried the fallen without jasmine crowns. Is there a difference, give us a reference, between a stalker, and a pokemon. The monger hits news, game spots and toss, time lost and chaos, with a pokemon. In Canada...... The rule breakers, cross the borders, an inadvertently walk, for a pokemon. In Guatemala city ....... The teenage boy, under the wizard, die in the cause, for a pokemon. In London....... The go players, ambushed in public, and robbed by trees, all for pokemon. In Africa..... The rumble, then scrambles, to get the last, the dusts of pokeman. In Asia........... No signs too, they tire and wait, for the nostalgia, all for pokeman. In New York..... It's a no, no, for *** offenders, or become criminals, All for pokeman. Poke me man, NO SOD OFF! It's all crazy, the apocalypse, of freaks and creatures! Poke me man! I DARE YOU NOT! Go find old cards, a bank of more funds, all for pokemon. Poke me man! I POCKET YOU! As phones hide, their lunch hunt, the herd of pokemon.

Pokemon
Maybe the reason why I haven't watched Star Wars yet is not because I'm uninterested to start watching it, but because I'm waiting for someone to watch it with. Maybe a Star Wars geek, particularly. And he'd tell me jokes with a Star Wars reference and at first I'd blankly look at him, but after watching I'd laugh with him. Maybe we'd get lightsabers and play with it together. Maybe, just maybe.

Sister who conceived was thrown outta the nunnery This disgrace fed the top feeds hence. Shunning all her exemplary works at once. But where did the well-read ladies lose reference? THE BOOK had revealed it all right there, But when history repeated itself... with just a track from heaven missing And so this mother raised a fatherless child. But in history when the father was a Carpenter. Here in time the father was a Father Who continued to raise "patriarchy" on the altar!

Two Cultures Collide (Dear "Mama")
Imagine a world with no discrimination A world living in harmony comprising of peaceful nations The only colour reference would be made to nature Humans will no longer be judged on their nomenclature Such is a dream seen by all But Sir Mandela was the one who took the call On July 18, 1918, a hero was born But due to his colour all everyone did was scorn No one in his family had ever attended school He was the first one to break this rule On the first day of school their teacher gave them an English name This was an African custom due to British bias – how mundane And that is how Nelson became his first name He kept it even after he shot to fame A member of the African National Congress He gave his opponents a reason to stress A great politician, revolutionist, lawyer and philanthropist Served 27 years in jail but never used his fist Although a controversial figure for most of his life He won the Nobel Peace Prize for ending the South African apartheid strife On December 5, 2013, this giant passed away The things that we can learn from him are a lot more than I can say

Nelson Mandela
It turned cold quickly Almost skipping Autumn Reluctant to wear a jacket Or a hat, or gloves Too distant for my arms To keep him warm against my chest He said he never wore a scarf But if he did, he would go Dr. Who style I had to laugh as i looked up the reference Fifteen feet of mismatched stripes Maybe not the stripes, he said I happened upon a huge skein of yarn It felt like a warm blanket in the oddest, Most interesting colors Manly, neutral, and perfect for Fall So i crocheted a scarf and pictured him warm The pattern in those colors was a mess I chuckled at why they would make such an ugly pattern I crocheted every stitch with love Through arthritic hands that felt no pain I crocheted a scarf, stopping only when it dragged the floor when i put it on Two feet short, but ridiculously long I bordered it in shades of green to match Not realizing it was variegated into Brown's and maroons along the way But it matched the odd mix of colors And finally made it almost pretty to me I covered myself in perfume And put it around my neck As I turned I caught a glimpse in the mirror It wasn't a horrible amalgamation of hideous colors It was camouflage, with a matching border I laughed so hard, and felt so bad My hillbilly in camouflage Wearing a scarf way too long Maybe he would hate it Maybe he won't wear it I knew better So, I packed up his bag of gifts And sent it to the frozen mountains He never wore a scarf He opened it and put it on It smells like You, he said in blssful remembrances It's definitely camouflage, he laughed It's perfect baby, I'll wear it whenever it's cold And in the picture he sent I saw its beauty It wasn't in the patterns of crisscrossing colors It wasn't in the accidental way The border perfectly complimented the body It wasn't in the fact that he would be able To wrap himself up in me to stay warm It was in that picture It was the joy that filled his smile It was in his eyes that danced in love It was in the fact that he believes Because i made it, it's perfect Yes, i accidentally crocheted a thirteen foot camouflage scarf And he loves that I can keep him warm.

Gemini in seasonable  evening, serenely swirling in Septemberous ferris wheels reeling in the vast domain of lonesome leviathans and witch-fires; nowhere bound in the boundless fecundity [ the feral joys of creation... ] twins meander in gravity's well of souls, swollen with unknowns and proteins; golden rods in pointless foam brewing the elixir vitae in the Dippers cup. the Milky Way, a wayward gush from an ancient Mother Goddess, plump and shameless, pumping teats to nurse worlds infused with divine rays of gamma and x... why set dark apart from firmament burning spheres? dragons must clutch eggs in the void as much as fork tongue white dwarfs. of course, the Source unfolds as  Love does. it's purpose, in thrall of fearless veracity, spinning yarns for glad garments to clothe the naked dread of such fearful symmetries as roam the wild delights of the infinite meringue. the Pi on the window sill, tempting the circular frame of reference to square with the sublime Will. another Fibonacci in your bedpost, to better hobnob with broomsticks. everything annihilates hatred. from within, we sojourn to sovereign super-continents of opulent peace. profound realities surge serpentine with Meaning. we are outdone on the inside by small minds and farcical hearts. so at night look up. The greatest challenge my nature presents: Love is harder to find Hate is easier to find Within myself and others Is rejection different for me? Everybody seems to know the pain of being unwanted And idle threats and empty words are no stranger to rejection But when you say you'll **** me if you ever see me again The intention is clear The existence of my attraction Is grotesque beyond redemption I thought I loved you... When appreciation comes my way It's superficiality amuses me Because I know all that needs to happen Is breaking down the wall to my mind Or unlocking the door to my heart And those appreciators will transform into detractors Especially if the hideous leviathan approaches their vessel Not finding women gross frustrates me Because I have no reference point For why people hate me so much Which provides a reference point For why I hate myself so much It's difficult not to be dominated by this damnation But there's no way people could understand The daily subtle nuances Why should they? I don't constantly consider their lives either Even if someone tried to comprehend my life I'm not sure it's possible I've been here the whole time and I'm still massively perplexed I display my emotions Disgust I shroud my emotions Indifference I **** my emotions Hatred Is there no escape? Even with sanctuaries along the way Life feels like Everybody swims in the ocean While I'm resigned to my lonely oasis Is it possible to feel more alone than completely alone? Like a cockroach consigned to living under the refrigerator It gets so cold and dark down here I forage for crumbs only at night Mortally afraid of human contact For I know that the boot follows the light And why not? In a world where our priorities obstruct our compassion How much consideration should a real human show to a lowly maggot like me When they have to worry about paying the exterminator?

Loneliness
The greatest challenge my nature presents: Love is harder to find Hate is easier to find Within myself and others Is rejection different for me? Keeping One's Distance/ The Poetry of Madness
There was once a parable, an earthly story portraying a message that would be told in reference of our life: A sower goes out to sow some seeds. However, there were some seeds fell on the wayside, and were swallowed up by the birds. Yet, some seeds fell next to the ricks, but there was not enough earth to keep the growth of the plant- so, when the sun came out the seeds were scorched from the earth with minimum growth, but without the roots to carry on its growth process. Yet, some seeds were placed in the thorns; so, those seeds were choked by its death. The last sower was able to find good land, where seeds would grow to a hundred fold. There is a mission: When God asks us to plant seeds, we are asked to have the oil with us. Without the right concentration, there are concerns of thorns who can choke you up. Because the thorns are sharp and dangerous, only God has the power to devour or to destroy them. A thorn is stubborn, and will continue to process threats of no promise, but the cuts it can process. Some thorns can be hidden, while a red rose blooms beautifully on the branches of a rose bush, there is no reason to believe- the thorn bush wants you to grab the beautiful rose to dig into your skin the anger it holds for you. Hence we have the earth to produce God's mission, but without the oil and concentration, there are only rocks that will go nowhere. Yes, unless you plan to move the rocks out of the way, those things will always remain. Only God has the power to remove the blockages out of our lives to make success in His mission, not our own. Rocks also causes pain. They are heavy, stubborn to move, and are often in the way. When dealing with rocks, their mission is to block the truth blind us for which what is said is to be hypocritical to the naked eye. However, what the rocks do not know, they may block our message from reaping, but God can remove that rock, placing them where they will work better. The rocks are the most stubborn for sending a message when the rock says, "Here I am try to move me," however, if you remove a rock from its place, they too have a purpose, and knocks the whole scenario outta-kilta. The situation is that while seeds could grow, they die off very quickly without roots. The question is: Does it take a brain surgeon to help us decide where to plant seeds? Do we need to express the dangers of rocks and thorns? Where do we lay our hearts? Is our hearts in the thorns, being tangled and sliced- or is our hearts being crushed by rocks? Is our oil being dripped by the holding back of thorns, or are the rocks dying the oil up? Our hearts need to sow where there is promise.

Bird Chair
We are manufactured landscapes, constructed through naming nouns – we celebrate difference. We are compelled into being one or the other, like a nail or a hammer. We reference nature through motherhood, voluptuous in her national pride narrative, her lips red pucker supple metaphors like her fertile ground, her belly always pregnant ready to plant desire in discourse. We forget her industrial miscarriages, her toxic tar-sulfur consumption, her global half-bred garbage in words left unsaid, her ***** laundry in patriarchal hands. We forget her midwives, her toiling underpaid workers who support generations of waste who spit up truth in plastic mouthfuls, who regurgitate material narratives to celebrate flesh in mythic wholeness. When will the nation, earth and world step from its subject of motherly pedestal and name its androgynous existence, its forgotten lifelines?
