"recognization" poems
I never once said I'd do it for fame
But what else do you call being a household name?
I never once implied I needed validation
But what other use do I have for recognization?
I've never once managed to specialize in a talent
Since when was focusing on a skill such a challenge?
I've never once suggested I needed any fanfare
But who would complain if the world can't help but stare?
I'd never once say I wanted to be idolized
But there's no harm in giving it a try.
This is my denial of my own motivations
I just want validification in the form of recognition.

Reality doused upon the scoured seas
Nothing allowing for recognization of faces
Tasting the lies of one so faithless
I, phasing through the emotional paces
Grew too big for such a love so aimless
One can only imagine it was baseless
So, back through the paces
To another love
To one whom may prove love is not waste
Either way, learning yourself, shameless
Loving for the right reasons, blameless
To one day recognize a face
Beauty no longer nameless

Will the words of my soul, open up my blinded, broken eyes to where I see the sun of the day. from being blinded, the depths of my egotistical mind, to see true beauty in a world I once despised. As someone who is traveling long roads to seek the world and themselves within. I've learned that as much as you think your ego is protecting you from harm, it is postponing your quest to what life is truly about. Self recognization is one of the most beautiful things I have discovered. And for that, I am thankful for the suffering I have been through growing up, without being broken down, I wouldn't have had the courage to get back up and fight even harder than once before.

this community that is us
so caring and thoughtful
these likes and comments
the hearts that are warming mine
not everything is about the recognization
it's to get it out to someone, anyone
but the feedback feels great
from a dark time
this is my safe place
my poetry being read by someone else's eye
it is truly an amazing feeling
of hope and peace
