"rayless" poems
I've watched too late; the morn is near;
One look at God's broad silent sky!
Oh, hopes and wishes vainly dear,
How in your very strength ye die!
Even while your glow is on the cheek,
And scarce the high pursuit begun,
The heart grows faint, the hand grows weak,
The task of life is left undone.
See where upon the horizon's brim,
Lies the still cloud in gloomy bars;
The waning moon, all pale and dim,
Goes up amid the eternal stars.
Late, in a flood of tender light,
She floated through the ethereal blue,
A softer sun, that shone all night
Upon the gathering beads of dew.
And still thou wanest, pallid moon!
The encroaching shadow grows apace;
Heaven's everlasting watchers soon
Shall see thee blotted from thy place.
Oh, Night's dethroned and crownless queen!
Well may thy sad, expiring ray
Be shed on those whose eyes have seen
Hope's glorious visions fade away.
Shine thou for forms that once were bright,
For sages in the mind's eclipse,
For those whose words were spells of might,
But falter now on stammering lips!
In thy decaying beam there lies
Full many a grave on hill and plain,
Of those who closed their dying eyes
In grief that they had lived in vain.
Another night, and thou among
The spheres of heaven shalt cease to shine,
All rayless in the glittering throng
Whose lustre late was quenched in thine.
Yet soon a new and tender light
From out thy darkened orb shall beam,
And broaden till it shines all night
On glistening dew and glimmering stream.

"Chalk forest branches, Hermes of sylvan gloom,
Dark mists that flirt with the narrow streams,
Creatures that cherish the rayless nights,
Faery spirits and carnage mongers
All spread, at her feet, their obediences.
To her willow throne borne on braided flames
Lay heathen peregrines with claws and manes"

Once they were remembered
As beauteous blue-eyed angels
Who assiduously
Served the creator
Once thought of as the holy ones
Who shone the brightest
Free will and they chose evil
The fallen and their father
Whose actions
Gave way to torment
All the unpardonable sins
They committed
In the age
When atrocity prevailed
Now all they seek
Is retribution
Sparse and angry
Gliding in the skies
With rayless halos
And ruptured wings
Listen as God cries
At what has become
Of his creation.

A cake of nurture and dreams
Made with the love of a maternal hand
Held to its core by an annointed candle
One of many belaying darkness
Until the wish emerges from your dream
A pouted blow, subtle to caress the wish
If the blowing soul has not the conviction
A full blooded blow will transpire
The smoke enthused wish rises
carrying with grace to ones deity on high
The rayless candle lifted inspires a cakely breath
A magnetic capacious attraction to all
Benediction now stored within its sweetly core
A knifely treaty made with sacrificial cake
Good, vented to the riven soul
A bonding gift, a cakely slice
for each companion
Consumed with temporal appetite
Binding memory to this day
Heralding ones peace with this earthly year

Once remembered as beauteous blue-eyed angels
Who assiduously served the creator
Now they curse him from the pits of their cold hearts
Once deemed the holy ones
Who shined the brightest
Free will and they chose evil over good
The greatest sin, unpardonable!
Defiance against heaven itself
The fallen and their father, the angel of light
Whose actions gave way to torment
Cast down from heaven down to the
earth
Unholy unions with humans they created and sired the nephilim
God descended upon them and brought the flood
Wiped out all of mankind from the face of the earth except for a few holy ones who weren't tainted
The fallen did not all perish
Some seeked refuge in the seas
They inhabit the waters as demons
Seeking retribution
With rayless halos and ruptured wings
They continue to sin
Polluting mankind
Come judgement day they will be cast down into hell into the eternal darkness
To melt in the sea of fire
For all eternity
They cannot be redeemed for their sins will remain
Listen as God cries at what has become of his creation

I feel like I’m swimming with my eyes closed, nose to nose with you. you are wide eyed, and its then I see your light, even through the most rayless of times.

*Lace these faux emotions
In trickery
To drench this void
Hungering for devotion
With flaming apparitions
Of sooth
Wrapped in debris
Of florid sensibility, wasted
Violets burgeoning
In the spaces
Between my ribcage
Turned toxic
These deflated veins
Eviscerated of content.
What was, constellates
At my feet
Like fathomless thoughts
Coiled around spirit
Like ivy
What is, consumes
And unsettles
These rayless irises
The halo that unhinged
To become a different shadow*

there's a place you've never been
a place I've never shown
and for the slightest moment
I'm willing to show someone else
It's a lightless house
filled with plagued memories
that I've learned to call home
I take you down the rayless halls
and as the pages start to bleed
I start to fear that you'd turn your back just like the pages unwritten
your eyes turn red dry
as if you've had them open for days
I start to regret showing you
the paintings on the walls
just when I start to feel numb
I feel your fingers run down my hand
linking them between mine
and for the slightest moment
I felt less afraid
you've taken me to a place I've never been

I stand in front of you, stunt, sickly.
My eyes are rayless, my skin is weakly.
No sign of joy or peg to life.
I'm tangled in whole in a net of lies.
I don't cry, but tears are all around.
It's like a life circle for me is shut down.
I don't scream - no strength, no strife.
It's like a mouse has gnawed of all my life.
I stand in front of you, disheveled.
I'm like a book, thumbed through, bedevilled.
And there's no use or purpose in it.
Her place is on the far shelf indeed.
I stand in front of you as I am right now.
Don't drive me away from you, put up with somehow.
I've no strength, no faith, no meaning, no purpose.
Leave me a pinch of love at least, with no pose.

How can I drive past the places
where the ghosts of us still linger,
without letting my sight falter
from the rayless road?
I’ve too much fuel wasted,
burning the long way home.

When an eyelash falls,
What do you wish for?
Do you wish -just asking
-
that I could be yours?
Because I spend that kind of wish
-I even found a way to cheat-
as much pressure as my fingers could squish
“Up”
And with a faint push of air
I blow.
When a meteor runs
Across the rayless high
What do you ask for?
Do you ask -
Do you
-if my love belongs to you?
Beloved!
You wasted your sky
Such a question is trash
Because there is only one reply
In a million languages.
Choose which tongue -wi, si, yes...

My Rayless Days
Who can mend this grieving heart,
Who can quench the glaring flames,
Rising up your lungs to your eyes,
Blocking way for air to flow?
Who can see this bleeding heart,
That hurts from brain to toe,
Dripping drops weighing with pain,
From million unanswered questions,
Who can brighten these dark days,
With smiles I so so long to see,
With warm gazes I long my way,
To bring me back to sanity,
The voice replays over and over,
The laughs appears and fade,
The memories shake and break,
Its an empty world without you.
