"rammstein" poems
It started in Dublin before I was born
Crossing the Irish Sea to weather a storm.
London called through the wind and rain
Big city lights and a country's flame.
To Manchester then, a city united
At least to outsiders.
But to those within it's somewhat
Divided.
Summers in France.
Dining in Provence
Time in Toulouse
And along the Loire.
But Paris! Paris has that
Je ne sais quoi
Fine wine, fine company
It's a fine philosophy.
A German exchange
*in einer stadt namens
Bad Bentheim.*
Exposed to a culture
And the work of Rammstein.
A few days in Berlin
A fantastic city with much
History within.
Gondolas in Vienna if only for a day
Sailing down the Danube
Water wants us on our way.
We stay for a while
Within the walls of Budapest,
My first shot of Absinthe
Puts my liver to the test.
No rest for the wicked
That wanderlust I long.
Settled for a while by the lights of
Hong Kong,
A place I felt for a while at peace
High in the Monastery of Lantau's peeks.
I went once and I went again.
When wizened crones speak of golden devils,
Stroking my blonde hair on the streets of
Shenzhen.

as i said before, the real active ingredient in cigarettes is not nicotine, nicotine is the flavoursome bit, the real active ingredient is carbon monoxide, the thing that spins your head a little on the first cigarette of the day.
oh god my nicotine hangovers
are worse than my alcohol hangovers,
i get this cough when waking
that makes schnitzel from my lungs
on the cough up (you'd think
it was tuberculosis), but recedes
once enough active ingregient in
my addiction is inhaled...
but the odd thing is...
when by odd chance i do get the classical
hangover with a headache...
my nicotine hangover is not apparent,
i don't cough...
and i cure this hangover by not
trying to think, thinking and brain
pain don't work together...
so i lie in bed, sing some rammstein
and later drink enough coffee
for the caffeine cure of increasing
blood pressure / blood flow;
or the classical hangover could be due
to the fact that i was headbanging to
sepultura's ratamahatta...
any coin flip is just as good to explain
this scenario.

There was this old dawg from Japan,
who thought his left arm was a ham.
He salted it lightly
and took out a bitey
and screamed for some more as he ran.
----------------------------------------------
There was this young girl from the stars,
who stopped for some pudding on Mars.
The more that she ate,
the more she lost weight
until all that was left was her ****
----------------------------------------------
I knew a young duck called magoo,
who liked to spend time at the zoo,
when the lion escaped,
he put on his cape
and fed everyone carnivore stew.
----------------------------------------------
There once was a girl called Cherise,
who befriended a flock of white geese.
They taught her to fly,
and as years passed by,
she grew feathers, two wings and a beak.
-----------------------------------------------
You know the inventor called Einstein?
He once had beer with his eisbein....
A rock n Roll pout
soon formed on his snout
and now he listens to Rammstein.
-----------------------------------------------
This ninja loved his katana-
he used it to cut through bananas,
one wicked night
he slipped with a fright
and cut off is head in the drama.

Er legt die Nadel auf die Ader
und bittet die Musik herein
zwischen Hals und Unterarm
die Melodie fährt leise ins Gebein
Los! Los! Los!
Bop bop shu bop
Er hat die Augen zugemacht
in seinem Blut tobt eine Schlacht
ein Heer marschiert durch seinen Darm
die Eingeweide werden langsam warm
Los! Los! Los!
Bop bop shu bop
Nichts ist für dich
nichts war für dich
nichts bleibt für dich
für immer
Er nimmt die Nadel von der Ader
die Melodie fährt aus der Haut
Geigen brennen mit Gekreisch
Harfen schneiden sich ins Fleisch
er hat die Augen aufgemacht
doch er ist nicht aufgewacht
Nichts ist für dich
nichts war für dich
nichts bleibt für dich
für immer
-
He lays the needle in the vein
and he asks the music to come inside
between his throat and forearm
the melody travels softly in the bones
Go! Go! Go!
Bop bop shu bop
He has closed his eyes
a battle rages in his blood
an army marches through his bowel
the intestines become warm slowly
Go! Go! Go!
Bop bop shu bop
Nothing is for you
nothing was for you
nothing remains for you
forever
He takes the needle from the vein
the melody travels out of the skin
violins burn with shrieking
harps cut the flesh
he has opened his eyes
but he is not awake
Nothing is for you
nothing was for you
nothing remains for you
forever

Sah ein Mädchen ein Röslein stehen
Blühte dort in lichten Höhen
Sprach sie ihren Liebsten an
ob er es ihr steigen kann
Sie will es und so ist es fein
So war es und so wird es immer sein
Sie will es und so ist es Brauch
Was sie will bekommt sie auch
Tiefe Brunnen muss man graben
wenn man klares Wasser will
Rosenrot oh Rosenrot
Tiefe Brunnen muss man graben
wenn man klares Wasser will
Rosenrot oh Rosenrot
Tiefe Brunnen muss man graben
wenn man klares Wasser will
Rosenrot oh Rosenrot
Tiefe Wasser sind nicht still

a slap on a face by a girlfriend,
just because she feels
like you've been cheating
on her while visiting your grandparents...
i must have looked pretty fit
for her to assume such a delusion...
and then countering...
punching yourself enough
times and giving yourself a plum
(a black eye)...
what do you think feels worse...
the 20 odd punches by yourself,
or the slap in the face?
that's not a trick question...
the slap in the face...
stings like a bee...
hones onto Parkinson's
like Muhammad Ali:
what is Parkinson's?
a bit like an animated stroke,
in slow slow motion,
over a long period of time.
- Rammstein makes a fetish
of various disorders
in the video for mein teil...
oh... lookie lookie lucky:
i've experienced the classical
bulimia of the ancient Roman
bourgeoisie...
i went to the bulimia gym...
trained the oesophagus
so well (it's not a tract,
it's a muscle) that i was able
to eat as much chocolate
as i was able to spew out...
on note: i love when Germans
sing...
that elitist part of me
disappears...
because: who the ****
had the authority to say
that opera was exclusively
an Italian or a French affair?!
- technical matters...
what is a precursor
hyphen?
a new paragraph in poetry;
a semi-colon? an elongated
pause...
backing up on
the topic of the hyphen...
point-break
(great movie by the way...
hate the remake...
Val Kilmer... Patrick Swayze...
or as i like to call them...
Valerie **** Me
and pat Paddy's back
while he swings Zed).

Ich will dass ihr mir vertraut
Ich will dass ihr mir glaubt
Ich will eure Blicke spüren
Ich will jeden Herzschlag kontrollieren
Ich will eure Stimmen hören
Ich will die Ruhe stören
Ich will dass ihr mich gut seht
Ich will dass ihr mich versteht
Ich will eure Phantasie
Ich will eure Energie
Ich will eure Hände sehen
Ich will in Beifall untergehen
Seht ihr mich?
Versteht ihr mich?
Fühlt ihr mich?
Hört ihr mich?
Könnt ihr mich hören?
Wir hören dich
Könnt ihr mich sehen?
Wir sehen dich
Könnt ihr mich fühlen?
Wir fühlen dich
Ich versteh' euch nicht
Ich will
Wir wollen dass ihr uns vertraut
Wir wollen dass ihr uns alles glaubt
Wir wollen eure Hände sehen
Wir wollen in Beifall untergeh'n - ja
Könnt ihr mich hören?
Wir hören dich
Könnt ihr mich sehen?
Wir sehen dich
Könnt ihr mich fühlen?
Wir fühlen dich
Ich versteh' euch nicht
Könnt ihr uns hören?
Wir hören euch
Könnt ihr uns sehen?
Wir sehen euch
Könnt ihr uns fühlen?
Wir fühlen euch
Wir verstehe'n euch nicht
Ich will

*eating breakfast in a long time,
half a teaspoon of sugar,
coffee black, three marzipan
nuggets coated in chocolate,
two cigarettes...*
and wondering where did the time
go since silverchair
released their debut frogstomp (1995),
or what happened to the offspring
after americana (the song *pay the
man* still wasn't a commercial song),
or the sudden thrill of red hot chilli
pepper's reunion with john and
californication, deftone's white pony,
or when buying the mortal kombat
soundtrack, and someone nice enough
at our price putting a different c.d.,
not the score, but the soundtrack
with actual songs: type o negative
(subsequently ****** kisses),
monster magnet, k.m.f.d.m., and beside,
days with cassettes (m.o.d.'s mr. oofus
ha ha) - and gigs, tool in glasgow
with that awesome german girl
who i gave water to in exchange for a kiss,
wolfmother in edinburgh, a few gigs
in london (papa roach, disturbed,
type o negative, iron maiden, the offspring,
american head charge, rammstein,
slipknot, korn, red hot chilli peppers -
when that arena at canary wharf was still open)...
but then there was verdi's la traviata in st. petersburg,
and aerosmith in hyde park, and boy
did depeche mode rock hyde park too...
i mean, most these influences came from
my uncle, but i can't give him credit
for king crimson, jethro tull and other
prog bands (early genesis, for example)...
or the jazz...
but it's just annoying to not have seen
the holy wood tour by m.m.,
or not seeing slayer when jeff hanneman
was still alive - after all i pledged the
tribulation of growing long hair in school
to him, one day, looking at the band's poster,
i was 15 then and became known as chewbacca
for a while.

i'll type this in all lowercase so it looks like i'm deep, like i'm some sort of hipster
is there anything i can really say that hasn't been said before? there have been billions before me and there will be billions after me, the chance that my words are not exactly repeated is very small.
i dunno if karma is just simply taking its course but i feel as if two years ago was a mistake. i mean i learned a lot from it and did a bit of soul searching, but was the cost worth the effect? i don't wanna hear any of this "hurr get over it you need to clear your conscious" because that's a ***** thing to say and you have no idea
last year was kinda **** as well, it was definitely the upswing, if i were to make a graph out of the quality of life through the grades. kinda ruined friendships and secured new ones, and the ones i ended were definitely the right ones to get rid of
a very good quote from rammstein goes "can you see me? can you feel me? can you hear me? i don't understand you all". basically unless you know me, am me, feel me, hear me, see me, you don't even know
also, the whole "don't judge people" thing is ******** if you're not supposed to judge someone on their personality or their physical appearance, what's left? you can't NOT judge people, that's dumb as hell. you can't look at a prisoner in jail with multiple tattoos and a history of murdering people in jail and not say "oh that man's probably dangerous"
basically i feel like i'm the only smart and mature one in a sea of ****
thanks for reading my ******* in a sea of ****

wenn du lieben Rammstein,
du werden lieben In Extremo,
als ein alternative: eine völkischen / rustikal markt
mit eine schwarzschmied.
german written
using english grammar
a grammar taught
without technicalities,
grammar taught as kamikaze
drop on target,
english and german the twins
separated at birth
coming together,
the prodigal saxon son
returning to speak german
like a turk speaks german.
i said german written
like it would be in english,
non-regulatory adjective or alternative
verb scrutiny, based on a one-to-one basis,
reread as:
if you like Rammstein
you will like In Extremo
as an alternative: an organic / rustic fair
with a blacksmith.
