"pledged" poems
~ where clear blue sky meets water's deep his sunbeams reach her waves to tease, to warm her currents, foaming spray; dawn to dusk when daylight fades, till only afterglow remains, an interlude of celestial stage. he speaks to her on written sky and in the mournful sea-bird's cry, wraps sultry ribbons in her tresses, his fingers linger in caresses, and in soothing choreography he gently stirs her ocean's breeze. he sends her gifts of palm and dates, wrapped on waves in salty sprays; watches her with much delight, he sings to her each eventide, love songs with the calling gull, and rocks her tween the gusts and lulls. wedded at horizon’s edge, devotion to her he has pledged, to have forever and to hold, his comfort to her storm-tossed soul; his tender kiss on tear-stained cheek, where clear blue sky meets water's deep. ~ *post script. when one gazes into the vastness of sea and sky, of what is from height to depth an endless blue, one cannot but think of eternal devotion, of the relationship between two who have pledged their forever troth!* *as i wonder from what recesses this one came, i remember… our 36th wedding anniversary is fast approaching... i’ve been thinking of what to gift her that will make her cry anew.* **thank you to Hello Poetry for the tremendous honor bestowed with their designation of this poem as the daily and to all who have expressed their heartfelt love and appreciation... your message came through loud and clear... there can be no denying it, i am an incredibly blessed man because of each of you!   thank you, truly, from the bottom of my heart!**

I sail alone because the sea now holds my lover's bones. Some nights I see parts of her red dress floating by in distance. Death was always engraved on her skin since the day I said hello. Over the waves, isolation is my only company. I age with the sea, I am a constant pattern of madness. Only at night do I dance for the midnight stars. The moon was my partner, the only one I couldn't destroy. I lead, the moon followed, with her dress of waves that flowed gracefully around my ship. We don't dance for long as I fear one day I'll be the end of her. The clouds were beautiful. A home I crave away from these grounds. A place that's far from a soul I could damage. I pledged, I would never love a person again, or get to attached to them. I wish to be far away from earth, I want to be up with the thunder. Distant from where all my past lovers are six feet under.

Lonesome Sailor
My Arwen lies over Belegaer Beyond the Straight Road, lies my Evenstar Across the Endless Sea, in Aman she lies She wouldn't stay here just to love, but to die I remember her here, here in Endor When the beacons of Gondor burned bright. I remember her here, once beside me In the days before the long night In Imladris fair, as Estel I was raised In ignorance there, I spent by blissful days I lived, and I learned, and yet never yearned For she from whom I now feel so spurned I've had my Éowyns, but none quite compare To She, my lady, so radiant, so fair At Cerin Amroth we pledged our love To all, ourselves, and the Ainur above But the Darkness again spread Morgoth's mission again led The Fellowship was wrought The battles all fought The Age of the Firstborn was ended The Age of the Hildor ascended Our world together was split And really, that was just it She could stay here, forever, be mortal But ever so closely lay Mithlond ,the portal To a life without end, I can blame her hardly I guess Barahir's tale was never to be What’s this? You say she’s not yet set sail? But how can I stop her? Our parting was so stale! Sure Elrond's presence and Galadriel's glare May have done oh so much to damper our parting But as she goes afar I know I can't go there And her expressed frigidity, that wound is still smarting What should I do for her I adore? Run to the Grey Havens and stop the White Ship? But so much I must do, right here in Gondor, A King I can become, as my Queen give me the slip And the spirits are howling, The white tree is burning?! My power, my people BUT I CAN'T STOP THIS YEARNING Oh what shall I do? TO ERU ABOVE I have so much work, but I so miss my Love The tears, they are welling, the Ship has set sail In all my adventures, in truth I have failed! For what am I worth? No King has Returned And without Hope is Gondor, and the Stewards have burned Denthar departed, the mighty horn split The mighty White City left here to sit I could let it fall into disarray, Again a Ranger, I could slip away To die like the Ents, forever, no Wife Is there nothing to save me from this strife? A new dawn is rising, a new age begun My hopes might still clear with the new rising Sun I see its my duty, as Arathorn's son… what Isildur started, I must see done but still I mourn my loss… that beautiful star, which now like all others, I must admire from afar. ~D. my life was like a rope walk a thin rope of sanity I walked on and below was a thousand feet Valley of depression, you miss a step ,you never come back. struggling to balance myself , and then I met you . the saviour , like the albatross who came to save the ancient mariner. you came into my life and with you came hope. the rope beneath my feet widened , widened to become a plank. and as you grew closer, the plank became solid ground. the valley started to disappear and the fear melted down. now I could risk missing steps, enjoying the grass and the tiny falls. it felt like never before , and there was no turning back. but I realised, on the ground I wasn't alone . not just mine, but you had saved a zillion lives . but that didn't matter now . they all loved you and so did I . so we all pledged : to help you, to love you forever and that anything that gets to you have to first get through us . we all are debtors of your love and we will pay back by standing by you . you are the nation of our happiness and we are your A.R.M.Y. saranghae BTS

When you think of her You think of her smile She than had the same smile Since she was a little child You can ask her uncle, her aunty, Even the lady who claims the last time she seen her That should could barely crawl They claim she was a happy baby Instead of crying she would laugh when she'd fall And ever since than she kept the same smile The same smile she had since she was a little child I met her when I was eight She was my play mate We use to play on the swings Try to swing over the top imagining we had wings We use to play house, I was Daddy And She was Mommy I would go to work, When I got home she would console me Her lil sister was only five She was our daughter All this was only imagination But she wouldn't believe that Even if you told her Back than she would always smile The same smile she had since she was a little child See we was only eight But ever since than, I always dreamed about our fate We was only 12 when I asked her to our first dance I was scared to ask her of course But I just couldn't miss the chance To my surprise she said yes And also blessed, me with her smile The same smile she had since she was a little child That night as I held her tight I wanted to kiss her But I didn't know if it would be alright After the dance we walked home together I was contemplating a kiss So it seem like we walked forever You can never understand, How confused I was when we got there She looked at me and said, We gone be "Best Friends FOREVER" And of course she added a smile The same smile she had since she was a little child So I couldn't get mad I know it was wrong But I actually was glad... When her boyfriend dumped her Right before prom Because I always imagined Us two being Prom King and Queen And now that he ****** up It could be a real thing So when I seen her on the stairs crying I wiped away her tears And let her know that I was there for her So I walked her home So she wouldn't feel alone As we walked we talked And she told me I was her best friend I told her that was cool, But I think, Our friendship should end here So something else could begin Than she just smiled The same smile she had since she was a little child I was surprised when she said "I was waiting for you to say something" A month later she won prom Queen And I won Prom King As we stood in front of every body She smiled The same smile she had since she was a little child We both graduated and went to the same college I pledged Kappa, Her A.K.A. We always got complimented on how good of a couple we was Whole time we was only a good couple because we had love As she walked across the stage They cheered and serenade She just smiled because she had reached the goal that she had made The same smile she had since she was a little child 2 years later we were already married And my baby she carried When she told me the news that it was a girl For a short instance I was a little let down Because I wanted a boy But than I was over joyed She just sat there smiling The same smile she had since she was a little child There were problems with the delivery Which left me standing in front of you all today So when you look at her for the last time If nothing else remember her smile The same smile that I now see on the face of my little child...

Sometimes I wonder if I’ve done him right. As a mother watching him grow, Not letting him out of my sight, Oh I worry so. Authority isn’t my strong suit, I have never been in charge, But better than being mute, Like his father, at large. When it comes to being a single mother, There are times when I must let him go, And although I want to hover, Being a good parent is what I must show. I love the boy who I pledged to raise, From that very first moment, that very first day.

Throughout my life I've pledged to make you mine. As if, by wish, this vow would then come true. So, would I practice words of pretty rhyme, and, with my heart, would offer them to you. Oh, how I wish myself to be a poem; To enter through your eyes into your heart. For it is there I wish to make my home. I cannot bear that we should ever part. But sometimes, when I search to see your face; I, startled, see you looking back at me! Could God, in kindness, spare a gift of grace; or does He smile on simple fools as we? Still, artfully I do the things I do. The world might sing if I could speak to you.

A Shy Sonnet
God bless America. I woke up today to the ring of Freedom. I pledged my allegiance To this country and it’s people. Today we celebrate our nation. The place we all call home. The place where it all started, Where democracy had grown. We fought an eight year war, To achieve a free way of life, And we are still fighting to this day, To keep freedom alive. Today we celebrate So gather your friends and family And say thanks to our soldiers, And say hi to lady liberty. Tonight we light fireworks And gaze up at the night sky, As freedom literally explodes Right in front of your eyes. I’m proud to be an American, I hope you are too. I’ll flash the Stars and Stripes forever, I bleed Red, White, and Blue.

God Bless America
Little monster couldn’t walk quite right Her legs ached and burned at times The healer didn’t have a cure And the ones at “home” said it’s nothing more Than monster’s own creation because She’s a wretched creature displaying loss, Always a burden for the ones who care And no more did they want to bear. “Little monster, you filthy girl, Leave the house and find some work. You leech at our money, our love and care, And then complain of pain everywhere. You despicable monster, weak of mind, what will you gain from studying time? I wish you’d leave right now, but wait, You’ll only ruin your family’s name. We came together for your happiness, You hateful thing, why do you make a mess? “I’m in pain, I’m in pain” it’s nothing but a ploy You little worm, with emotions you toy. Leave, you ***** get off my mind, You know no love, so how can you find Pain in my words, you’re just a rock, I wish you’d die, you ruinous block.” Monster girl fled from those words ‘I’m alright’ she said till she was numb. In this vast world she felt alone, With trees she talked of finding more. Her body ached as she fell to the ground Watched the stars till it was cold around. A piece of glass was what she could own Without being a weight on other souls. This jagged piece reflected the light From the moon and thousand fireflies, Little girl thought the world was so nice, But alas, she was just a monster in night. She heard from the house her father’s voice As he talked about her as a screeching noise, She rarely spoke and yet she was The pain in the ears of the ones she loved. I won’t cry anymore, she pledged, Her room alone knew that she wept, So often times she thought of hanging herself But she wasn’t sure she could bear being out of breath. And so it was she held a piece of glass, Shimmering, it seemed like her freedom at last, If only she was a human girl, Pretty and lovable, she wouldn’t hurt. Little monster girl smiled to herself She wouldn’t cause pain to other selves, The stars would remember that she had tried, The sun would know she had no respite. The glass glided over her soft dark skin, Where only bruises marked her wrist thin, Little drops of blood became more, Little monster thought of happy lores. “And they lived happily after” she mumbled quiet, Her dark eyes closed to moonlight, A firefly sat on her cold forehead Thinking her to be a creature dead. As the mist rose, she fell asleep, The moon watched over her peaceful dreams. As the moon’s lover rose So did she, To the worst nightmare that could ever be.

Blood come, blood lust Pulse and closed trickle Pledged and disloyal Come beckon her closer The red grin dismantles Flesh as well as the cleaver Pain left drowned within Infinite desire And heir blackens and boils Skin softer than petals Split apart for the curious / The insatiable Come beckon her closer Come beckon her closer We all die in the moment And live for nothing.

She flew in her chariot by the light of the moon Knowing the day would come all too soon Gathering herbs from underground The forest of darkness where twas no sound To the river of blood to fetch her wine Imps hovered about Ran fast the time From the wing of white owl Snatched three feathers Out of midnight sky Stars of heather The mountains north vials of whispering winds Tails of magical deer Running forbidden glens In charm covered cape To sacred circle flew Leaving behind a trail of sparkling hue Incantations spoken Revenge beget The man who spurned her He demons would get She drew up the potion Called forth the demon Hells brimstone smoke Dead souls singing Orders from the woman Sent the Devils spawn into flight With orders to return the following night The night time fell As did the following day Black flickering lights in pentagram array Each dark candle did kindle desire The demon appeared amid red fire Spells muttered under breath Cast the ancient way Over the conjured one silver bond did lay To despised castle  I commandthee Destroy the man The one she had loved Pledged to another's hand Fly now winged one Not one more moment spent Evil black smoke In a swirl the demon went To the bedchamber of the king Dispatched him with single blow Wretched creature peered into his thoughts As life ebbed in drops from body slow His love for the strange enchantress Hearts secret she did not know Ghastly smile on the demons face For the price of desire was her soul This poem is copyrighted and stored in author base. And it comes with some pain the the bullies from our childhood were a result of social Darwinism, at least in the sense of the state, where capitalism reigns and the most ruthless and powerful win all the freedom. Us cowards were too scared of violence to do anything about it. The teachers barred us from bullying, and with emotion they punished bullies, when they could be caught. Punish the bullies so they will develop the slavish obedience not to harm their peers, so in the future they will merely quietly compete up the ladder and sigh at the impossibility of their ladder extending past their bully bosses. If you want to have real freedom and fortune in this life, I hope you never stopped being a bullying child. I, like most children, bought the obedience and swallowed it like morning pills. In rows I sat, I pledged to red white and blue, and while the bullies slapped our heads, we kept our retaliation to unified grumbling, yet in a school there is no strength in numbers, besides the strength of harmonizing our slavish sighs. It’s just like at work under our bully bosses. The strength of the individual is denied in a school, so we can work like a cog, working hard at our shape to fit best into the machine. The bully notices the competition early on and acts hard, swift, and originally. For this is how wars are won. But us slaves have our way of converting the bully, we have numbers on our side, yet little strength. Out of weakness we tell the bully that they are an ill shaped cog, and they will never be able to help the machine if they keep their powerful aggression. Conversion to slaves may occur, or a half convert is created who is too deluded with their new illness, so they can do little physical harm to anyone anymore. And all without a drop of blood. We go to work secretly competing with each other, in order to buy the system’s validity at the end of the week. And we rip each other‘s teeth out in our dreams

Dear African King: Time and time again I would ask myself What is love? I never knew what love was until I met you, You showed me how to care when my heart was cold as ice You came along with this fire and made me melt and held me in your arms and said ''baby one day im gonna make you my wife''.. I pledge my love to you My African King That I will love honor and always obey And no matter what I will always stay Stay faithful and true cause i only have eyes for you. And as long as God Almighty is in the midst we’ll be to legit to quit. Im gonna love you more than ever, more than time and more than love. More than money, and more than the stars above More than madness, and more than the waves upon the sea More than life itself cause you mean that much to me. I love you because you have always been my dream and even though I prayed to God for you I have always loved you dearly with all of my heart. I pledge to you to be the best spouse, wife , mother of your children And with The lord by our side our love will be one in a million Because i pledged my love to you.

Letter To My African King
"Don't do drugs" Everyone always says They're addictive Self-harming, Cruel in every way. I pledged to be drug-free Since my pig-tail days. But then you crashed into my life And blew everything away. My worst addiction Was the sweetness of your lips My favorite destruction Written in your fingertips My worst obsession The deep color of your eyes My favorite drug In your sweet little lies.*

My Favorite Drug
This valley wood is pledged To the set shape of things, And reasonably hedged: Here are no harpies fledged, No rocs may clap their wings, Nor gryphons wave their stings. Here, poised in quietude, Calm elementals brood On the set shape of things: They fend away alarms From this green wood. Here nothing is that harms - No bulls with lungs of brass, No toothed or spiny grass, No tree whose clutching arms Drink blood when travellers pass, No mount of glass; No bardic tongues unfold Satires or charms. Only, the lawns are soft, The tree-stems, grave and old; Slow branches sway aloft, The evening air comes cold, The sunset scatters gold. Small grasses toss and bend, Small pathways idly tend Towards no fearful end.

An English Wood
In the marshy North Country there lived a lovely maiden fair, Red was the colour of her hair, Her eyes, they did like merry diamonds sparkle and shine, She was innocent, pleasant and kind. *Catherine was her name, Her father wanted for her riches and fame.* One day the Black Knight came riding up to her father’s gate, He rode upon a white mare looking great, He saw Catherine blush and her heart did fearfully flutter, To him she was cream, honey and butter. *Catherine was her name, Her father wanted for her riches and fame.* Said the Knight, “I have come to court your daughter of the auburn hair, I have silver, I have gold, I have fabrics rare, I have lands and servants and riches beyond compare, I will buy lots of delightful dresses for her to wear.” *Catherine was her name, Her father wanted for her riches and fame.* Said the girl, “Sir, thou art most kind but I care not for your divine riches, Nor do I hunger for your clothes golden stitched, For I have pledged my hand and heart to a Poet whose ink is red, To him only will I happily wed.” *Catherine was her name, Her father wanted for her riches and fame.* Catherine’s scheming father did sharply speak, His nose curled like an eagle’s beak, “On Sunday you will to church go and wear the Knight’s ring of gold, Young lady, you’ll do as you’re told!” *Catherine was her name, Her father wanted for her riches and fame.* In a misty village of the North Country there is a weeping river vast and deep, They found Catherine and her Poet drowned in love’s sleep, The church bells peal and weep out across the valley in the evening twilight, Merry music floats and stains the tragic sight. *Catherine was her name, Her father now cries and hangs his head in shame.* ©Rangzeb Hussain

What guile is this, that the Inventor of Change is cruel, He invests not his ears on the sweat of the poor and helpless; Like a tyrant, he feeds sweet tears to ants for a gruel, Is he not guilty of false hope of Change to the hopeless? How is it that he's different from his own self In that he considers not the interest of the termites, And being voted in by ants, is now a Mighty elf; Is he not deceptive in his honest dealings with termites? We must change the CHANGE, for cunning is his agenda, Henceforth, must we not be enslaved in his guileful net In that he entrapped the poor ants to enrich his blender, Out of his duplicity, must we by all means be fret. Folly it was, that he promised us as Change To covet beacons of wealth, from the hopeless ants, Is he not guilty of prophesying false prophesies of Change? We must Change the CHANGE for the safety of the helpless ants. He pledged Change, but chained the CHANGE, and left us hopeless, Is he not guilty of duplicity, and sabotage of the nation's economy? None of his agenda was in the interest of the poor and helpless; We must Change the CHANGE, for CHANGE threatens the economy.

CHANGE THE CHANGE
How far can we get moving closer to our dreams without living in regret? Have another sip of that glass of red wine then slowly take a deep breath. When people ask, tell them that you found love in the city where jacaranda trees light up the streets with their purple blooms. When people ask, let them know that you found love in a place that was previously deemed as hopeless. Let them know that you found love in the hands and heart of a poet who pledged to spend the rest of his days as your muse. It’s hard enough finding love in your twenties yet you managed to find the balance and stick to your decision. Haven’t had the pleasure to kiss you yet, but somehow, I have the taste of your smile lingering on the tip of my tongue. You’ve made me fall for the poetry of purple blooms and now I can no longer spend spring without you. Like a painter admiring his exquisite muse, I can’t stop looking at every colour of you. How many of these poems will I manage to keep writing without driving my loving heart crazy? The answer to that question is something that I do not know yet, but I do know that my heart beats for you. Let me tell you more about my version of events while we listen to Emeli Sandé on any given Sunday. Haven’t had the pleasure to kiss you yet, but somehow, I have the taste of your smile lingering on the tip of my tongue. I’ll be patiently waiting for you on Jacaranda Avenue so that we can both make our dreams come true.

the canary sings cobalt blues
On black sheets And silver pillows I pledged a kind Of oath to you My love, my love? Keeper of my coffee cup Affections and Bumblebee hive Passions musings. Sing to me love and light in a song And I'll promise that only for you I'll long. With tshirt lamp And crystal glass Kosher wines that Taste of ash and Dust in summer campfire We made ourselves Like remote batteries And tuning slides Together. A: 440 Sing to me of devotion and commitment with your voice. And I could finally make a similar choice. Promises made, promises kept. I promised again even as you slept.

To the moon and back you professed. But….. The Crescent moons edge drains me as it pierces my flesh. To the moon and back you pledged. Only…. The new moon is heavy now, smothering, as it presses down on my chest. To the moon and back you alleged. Except…. The full moons beam blinds me as it steals my fight . Luminously I am led to my emotional death…. I love you to the moon and back, he said
