"organizing" poems
The girl who would rather spend her Friday night at home organizing her room than at the parties. The girl who would rather curl up and read at lunch than sit and socialize over talk of nothing but "people". The girl who would rather drown out the world with music than sit in class and be involved. The girl who would rather work alone and finish her homework in class, than sit in the big social groups making weekend plans. The girl who would rather be independent and be judged as a loner than be friends with people who will secretly judge you. The girl who would rather collect books and records than makeup. The girl who would rather study astrology than watch every show on Netflix. The girl who would rather thrift shop and buy $3.99 boots than buy top of the line $80 boots. The girl who realizes that all of this does not make her any better than them. The girl that realizes she is only trying to impress herself; confidence is key.

So lets get this straight: An armed, white man walks into a school, kills 17 students and teachers with a tool that can be bought at just any store by a 19 year old, insane, fool, before being caught, all on Valentine's day, Marking the 30th mass shooting just this year And it's not time to talk about gun control? If they had been black, you'd say "more police" If they had been Mexican, you'd say "build a wall" If they had been Middle-Eastern, you'd say "travel ban" But they're not, they're white, they're mentally ill, so "Report the disturbed" our president says "It's about mental health!" our congress says "But it's not time to talk about gun control" You send your thoughts and prayers, while we're pleading for your help You want to know my thoughts and prayers? I thought our country cared about us I thought our country loved us more than guns And I pray that my school won't be next That my friends won't be mourned on the internet That we might be safe in our unsafe unchanging world Because you won't talk about gun control But you know what? ***** you if you think that's all we're gonna do We're taking this horse by the reigns Knock some sense into that old brain We're organizing, rising up and wising up Taking a stand, and taking a walk Making our voices heard, better watch for that 10 o' clock We will not be complacent in our friends' deaths We've done it before and we will do it again They say "when we're older" I say "why wait till then" These laws are going to change now These deaths have got to be dwindling down Everyone knows kids can be one loud crowd And no, we won't calm down Until no one ignores our outraged sound We will make the politicians come around And finally, gun control will bring peace to our towns And finally, me, my family, and my friends, can feel safe, with long lives ahead, and we can go back to school together again.

Korean fashion experts have shared their know-how with Malaysia. At the "K-Fashion Conference for Malaysia" in Kuala Lumpur on Feb. 16, a group of Korean professionals gave lectures under the topics "K-Fashion Design Trend Transition & Forecast," "Digital & Online Marketing Strategies," "Power Brand and Concept Development Strategies" and "How to enter the global market." The Korea Fashion Association, the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) and the ASEAN-Korea Centre organized the event to strengthen the competitiveness of Malaysian fashion brands by improving the added value of the industry through brand development. About 50 Malaysian fashion industry companies and related government officials attended. "There is growing interest in K-fashion, along with the high popularity of Korean dramas and entertainment shows, making this workshop even more timely and meaningful," ASEAN-Korea Centre Secretary General Kim Young-sun said. "The Malaysian fashion industry has huge potential as it is currently ranked in the top five in the ASEAN fashion industry." On Feb. 15 and 17, Korean experts visited local fashion merchandisers for market research and consultations. According to the ASEAN-Korea Centre, the Malaysian fashion industry has had massive growth with the expansion of Islamic fashion markets. MATRADE aims to boost the industry as the nation's leading exporter. It has been organizing Malaysia Fashion Week (MFW) since 2014 to make the capital a fashion destination in Asia. The second MFW in 2015 featured designers from more than 15 countries, and over 300 booths showcased the quality products of Malaysian fashion brands to the domestic and foreign trade, accodring to the organization. The ASEAN-Korea Centre is an intergovernmental organization established in 2009 with an aim to promote exchanges among Korea and the 10 ASEAN member states.Read more at:www.marieaustralia.com/bridesmaid-dresses | www.marieaustralia.com/long-formal-dresses

Life often speaks in rhythm & blues whispering trumpets to bended ears, while reminding us that smiles belong only in photographs; and tears behind the curtain of an indifferent face We walk fine lines, between tragedy and genius, lines so rarely straight we seek balance in mediocrity and solitude in unfinished lifes We become incomplete puzzles forcing squares into circular places by tearing away pieces of the whole and conforming to the empty spaces some things were never meant to be changed We place people into boxes, neatly organizing them by the labels we give their cracks and flaws seldom ever realizing that broken has a beauty all it's own, and... some things were never meant be mended

An abstract of an academic paper written by a doctoral student: "In this semimanifesto, I approach how understandings of quantum physics and cyborgian bodies can (or always already do) ally with feminist anti-oppression practices long in use. The idea of the body (whether biological, social, or of work) is not stagnant, and new materialist feminisms help to recognize how multiple phenomena work together to behave in what can become legible at any given moment as a body. By utilizing the materiality of conceptions about connectivity often thought to be merely theoretical, by taking a critical look at the noncentralized and multiple movements of quantum physics, and by dehierarchizing the necessity of linear bodies through time, it becomes possible to reconfigure structures of value, longevity, and subjectivity in ways explicitly aligned with anti-oppression practices and identity politics. Combining intersectionality and quantum physics can provide for differing perspectives on organizing practices long used by marginalized people, for enabling apparatuses that allow for new possibilities of safer spaces, and for practices of accountability."--an abstract of a paper by doctoral student Whitney Stark Atomic particles, how can it be so that your purpose is not just to flow in and out of existence, building reality-- the stars, cosmic gas and galaxies-- but to “ally” with groups of humans fighting “hierarchies” and demanding “safe spaces” (even though their entire race is at the top of their planet’s food chain). In this mysterious universe there is no safety, accountability or identity, only elements, and energy. Brief combinations make life legible for a nanosecond in cosmic time, and doomed to strife. Biology does not know oppression, only generation, reproduction, until our growth chokes us and we fall like so many of our ancestors, who lived and died on this blue-green ball. And one day the sun will explode and blow even our atoms, which have endured (despite oppression), and the particles will go far until maybe they sow new life, in bodies unfamiliar, on planets unknown.

Parenting organizing the day, while the baby room adjacent makes dreaming rock n' roll noises siren calls to lay in bed, semi-alert, on guard duty, scheming about dis n' dat, you are sleeping, dreaming, wide awake seeing, multitasking eyes closed simultaneously. lesser of a poet, more a notate-er, list keeper, note taker, arguing with yourself inside the head, actually feeling the thoughts coursing, lurking, seeing both sides now, parentally, washing the dishes of the hours and years ahead. while the woman-mother makes her soprano dreaming noises, you laugh at the orchestra of ******* sighing somnolent noises, a cadenza of love dancing in your irresistible wide awake dreams. paying the bills, lying in the dark, you wonder-worry about the agenda unknown that will overgrow you, fast creeping up the grain of your skin, ivy on stone skin walls. lala lala you borrow baby's lullaby, yourself calming, keeping time, silly rhyming, organizing the days ahead in you head, while, recording the harmonies of sensory inputs. the dark provides the cloak where you alone feel and hear the worry and laugh lines knitting into a single stitch of parenting. 1/20/2013

Dar Al-Hekma University hosted its second fashion show on Sunday that featured the work of its second batch of fashion design undergraduates. The event, titled “Luminosity” was held under the auspices of Princess Reem **** Muhammad Al-Faisal. President of the university Dr. Suhair Hassan Al-Qurashi said: “Providing such events to our students before graduation exposes them to industry leaders of their prospective industries and gives them a head start in their careers. “Dar Al-Hekma University’s students stand out because of the combination of their high caliber and the opportunities the university provides for them.” Along with industry leaders, families of participating students attended. The event started with an opening speech by the department chair for the fashion design program Dina Kattan, who then introduced the sophomore and junior students’ work. Afterward, models wearing three-piece collection garments designed by senior students scheduled to graduate this year took the stage and were graded by four judges. Kattan said: “I am so proud of the work my students presented today; they worked really hard and they deserve a big hand. “Everyone was impressed with the level of creativity and attention to detail they demonstrated.” The judges were Batool Jamjoom, businesswoman in the fashion industry and manager and owner of Jamjoom Fashion House; Amra Alabdalilsharif, director of the innovation and visual merchandising department at Rubaiyyat; Dalal Al-Hasan, a fashion designer; and Aram Kabbani, Dar Al-Hekma alumna and fashion stylist. The grades students received during the fashion show will form part of their final grade. One of the students whose designs were featured at the show, Zahar Algain, said her collection was inspired by Mexican artist Frida Kahlo. “Studying fashion has altered my perspective. I view fashion, in the same way that I view life; it’s a matter of balance and proportions. “My interest in avant-garde fashion has led me to believe in using creativity to solve difficult situations. Algain’s collection was meant to blur the line between art and fashion. “It is inspired by Frida Kahlo but with a fictional twist. “The story behind my collection is a daydream, a magical love story, an artwork; it is splattered with Frida’s colorful soul and spirit.” Following this women only event, Dar Al-Hekma is organizing a one-day fashion design exhibition on Tuesday, which is open to all. When I look into my bedroom I see a shelf of various book genres that I read over and over again, when I look into my bedroom and look beyond the rest I see a window which I have seen many, many different things through, when I look into my bedroom and door ahead I see a dresser with many clothing items I will cherish for life. Above I see some of my most valuable collections, when I look into my bedroom and look down I see a box of various types of ***** which I have kicked and thrown all over the house When I look inside my closet and look down I see board games that I have played over and over again. When I look inside my closet and look straight ahead I see sweatshirts that have kept me warm in the winter months. When I look inside my closet and look up I see enormous puzzles that I have spent days and days and days to complete, when I look into my bedroom and look right I see my bed where I have had good dreams and bad dreams and dreams in between. When I look into my bedroom and look right I see soccer cards which I have spent hours organizing and putting in their holders. When I look into my bedroom and look beyond my bed I see a shelf with fidget spinners, nerf guns, athlete cards, travel games, and remote control cars everywhere, when I look into my bedroom and look beyond my dresser I see a big box of athletes cards which I have studied over and over again, when I look in my bedroom and look at the walls I see posters of athletes who inspire mes like no other, when I look into my bedroom and look above my closet I see my mini basketball hoop which I have attempted many shots on. when I look into my bedroom I see my very own personality.

This week, Jesse Herndon has more on her plate than the typical high school student. She has spent hours after school each day making calls, finalizing details for an event happening Sunday. Collecting donated items for an upcoming silent auction. Calling every bakery in Greensboro. “It’s very stressful,” said Herndon, a junior at Weaver Academy. But it’s all for a good cause. She’s organizing an event with free pastries, live music, a fashion show and a silent auction, which will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday night at The Blind Tiger, 1819 Spring Garden Street in Greensboro. Admission is $4 with the donation of clothing of any size. The goal is to collect clothes that would comply with Standard Mode of Dress, or SMOD, the uniforms required at some local schools. The fashion show will feature clothes from Plato’s Closet, Mack and Mack, and Patina Bridal and Formals. The silent auction would include items such as Weaver Academy student artwork and a gift bag full of beauty products valued at about $200. Herdon is still seeking donations of items to auction. The event will benefit Backpack Beginnings, a local organization that provides food and clothing for thousands of local needy children. All 127 Guilford schools have a dress code, but a few dozen require students to wear uniforms. Some parents have complained about the cost of buying the uniforms. They’ve also complained that the uniform dress codes vary from school to school, requiring additional clothes purchases if a child changes schools. Parents and some students also described dress code violations for wearing a jacket with a hood, a logo deemed too large or the wrong color shoelaces. “SMOD is really expensive,” Herdon said. She knows because her sisters have attended SMOD schools. In January, the Guilford County Board of Education unanimously approved changes to its policy on SMOD. Principals of current SMOD schools have until June to survey parents on whether to continue requiring students to wear uniforms in the 2015-16 school year. Now, school administrators at traditional schools also have to get public input before requiring uniforms. Ever two years, traditional schools with SMOD have to reconsider requiring uniforms and demonstrate public support for the policy.Read more here:www.marieaustralia.com/evening-dresses | www.marieaustralia.com/bridesmaid-dresses

My heartbeat ticks like a clock on most days the pounding of my chest reminds me I don't have much time left I start to wonder why being shaped like an hourglass is such a good thing. We are always running out of time. So much so that we don't even count when we reach a mile- in high school they train you to keep time but somehow you always end up running and running away from it. Other kids shamed you for not completing the mile fast enough- but your body thanked you for not pushing it so hard. There are days when my alarm wakes me up before the sound comes like my body somehow knows my time for sleep has ran out. Things are constantly running away from me- kind of like you. I try to slow down the hands to this clock but as yours wrap around my waist it only speeds things up for me because I no longer pay attention to the sound of my heartbeat. Yours is the only ticking I can hear on those days. I find myself using too many metaphors and not enough alliteration or sibilance- or any other methods of poetry for that matter. I am too busy organizing these thoughts too quickly so they do not run too fast away from me. My mind is something I'm always trying to catch- trying to keep these emotions in order and on cue so I don't run out of time with you. But somehow I end up losing it, all of it and I am on the brink of insanity again because how can you feel secure when you don't know how much time you are wasting I do not want to waste all this time with you. If I am just another hour on this clock of your life it will be the best **** hour you will ever encounter because the rest of mine are spent trying to place these emotions that have run out on me. Spent trying to learn how to keep time, how to keep them in mind how to not let them change who I am again. But see these emotions are not an alarm clock- they are a pop quiz an erupting volcano that has been dormant for years, a hurricane you knew was coming but you weren't sure when, an hour of detention that goes by so painfully slow you contemplate your entire life. These emotions don't come every other sunday- they don't become planted in the soil inside of me and sprout when I water them. They are the dust that collects under your bed from the particles of your skin- and you don't know they are there until you clean out the things you've been meaning to for a while. My life is all metaphor and not enough logistics. Not enough order and routine- the only thing keeping me is time and the dust has settled again. It had rested in the lining of my lungs and sits in the bridge of my nose- it won't be long until it collects and overflows and I am dealing with the consequences of not keeping this life in order, in detail, I made no room for cleanliness. There is no freedom inside of this mess, inside of this wristwatch that will not leave even when I try to cut it off. The ticking of the clock is all I hear- it aligns perfectly with the sound of my heartbeat. I fear it will stop ticking I fear I will stop feeling I fear this heart will stop beating. Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock. Tick.

Ticking Time Bomb.
But somehow I end up losing it, all of it and I am on the brink of insanity again because how can you feel secure when you don't know how much time you are wasting I do not want to waste all this time with you. reposting a poem from 3 1/2 years ago, when I knew how to write    <> organizing the day, while the baby room renter in the adjacent,, makes dreamy rock n' roll noises, siren calls to stay~lay in bed, tho status of semi-alert, ready to relieve Ernie and Bert, who have the first shift covered soon on guard duty, scheming about dis n' dat, you are sleeping, dreaming, wide awake seeing, multitasking with eyes closed simultaneously. lesser of a poet, more a notate-er, list keeper, note taker, arguing with yourself inside the head, actually feeling the thoughts coursing, lurking, seeing both sides now, parentally, washing the dishes of the hours and years ahead. while the woman-mother makes her soprano dreaming noises, you laugh at the orchestra of ******* sighing somnolent noises, a cadenza of love dancing in your irresistible wide awake dreams. paying the bills, lying in the dark, you wonder-worry about the agenda unknown that will overgrow you, fast creeping up the grain of your skin, ivy on stone skin walls. lala lala you borrow baby's lullaby, yourself for to calming, keeping time, silly rhyming, organizing the days ahead in you head, while, recording the harmonies of sweet sensory inputs. the dark provides the cloak where you alone feel and hear the worry and laugh lines knitting into a single stitch of parenting. 1/20/2013

Organizing
One kiss was enough To leave me hooked For a lifetime Just the way you smiled When your hand held mine I thought love was complete The attraction was discreet Yet perfectly displayed I remember the first date The night we kissed The day we spent Organizing plans Holding hands Drinking, talking I also recall The first time We made love That was a special moment for us At least I thought it was You were my first But I wasn't your last Our connection Turned into dust

terrible accident
"What's wrong with you?" he asked through a chuckle, and then it hit me. I knew exactly what was wrong with me. I was passionate about things, and never about people. I had loved people, but always platonically, or platonic and gilded with a crush or wrapped in lust that I always brushed off with innuendos and flippancy. I had never loved another person the way I loved twisting my brain around a calculus problem or constructing a flame chart. I had thought of people in a romantic sense more than I had evaluated people for science bowl, but lust and love had never consumed me as the issue of organizing practice and evaluation and cuts within the handspan of a month. I always fell in love with things, and never with people, and that's why already, not even 16 yet, I've reconciled myself to die alone.

A POLICE MAN CAN DO ANYTHING Why compromised are the police men? From all over the world, policemen are sellouts, Policemen arrested Jesus Christ and flogged him, Others tortured Galileo Galilai for intellectual cross purpose, Some of them vandalized Martin Luther King, and his wife, As they also put Fidel Castro on the tilted trial, The same are the ones that arrested Mahatma Gandhi In the same tandem of Colonel Afrifa organizing a coup To effect putsch against Kwameh Nkrumah, or Mandela to Robben gulag, They tortured Rubia and Matiba in Kenya down the abyss of mental breakdown, They kicked in the teeth Abdulla Abdalladiff at Kamiti prison Then they ran off for a decade to effect the ****** of Robert Ouko, Their evil tendency was never quenched until They abducted the County parliament speaker Of Maembe hamlet in the Nyake Kingdom of potato eaters And held him in the spine chilling captivity for days and days Only to release him when he sufficed to stay in dumb freedom.

A POLICE MAN CAN DO ANYTHING
they wanted to be high school sweethearts again they wanted to reignite that past flame a chance did arise for the two they seized the opportunity to link up they've done all in their power to rerun their high school days the ember of love was ever in the background just waiting for the appropriate time back in 1977 they left Grafton High School to pursue careers and as a consequence they lost touch but a fellow pupil was organizing a class reunion she invited them to the get together once they locked eyes at this occasion those old feelings resurfaced their love was rekindled as it was in those high school days

High School Days
You are my first love myfamily, my nakama, ma famille. You, with your dark hair and tired eyes, and your smile Once, I begged you to 'have a mustache, Daddy! Now I love the way you look, just as you are. You come to wake me up in the mornings and I throw pillows, shriek, fake sleep. Underneath it all, I'm glad you're still coming even though I should just get an alarm clock, I should just wake up earlier, I should just go to bed earlier. Sometimes you smile at me with this old smile, as if you're remembering something far away. Your own childhood, perhaps? There's a look in those eyes of yours that are brown with flecks of green and gold, one that makes me blush and fidget and beam because it says 'You're my daughter and I'm proud'. Sometimes your shoulders stoop with the weight of our family. You bring in the cash, and I respect you for that. For not complaining. For not lashing out. For not getting mad at us. Instead, you fall asleep during the movies we watch. You take walks with us. You cook for us. Little by little, you pass parts of yourself onto us.I love drawing, Bimo enjoys organizing something, Uri loves sports. We cook together, play together, hang out together. I don't mind. You're my first love,my dad, and you're a good dad too.. You hold my hand when I feel sick, listen but don't judge. Raspberry me when I wish wish wish you wouldn't, laugh at and with me because choosing one is too hard. You tell bad jokes and make worse puns, like to work with wood, take your stress away by cooking and sleep on the couch too much. Sometimes you're completely oblivious, other times you choose to look the other way and I appreciate that. You, my dad, are more than just that. You are my first love. And I love you, for the reasons above and more:")

*An oracle possessed by a spirit disquieted,                                    he contains a world unknown even to himself, a poem gets written by itself, within himself,                                      organizing material eclectically on its own from roots to crust, essence of experiences,                                     mingle with hopes, fears and yearnings, creating alloys of emotions, welding words to mean different,                                      fixing formations and evocative images, when he stops contended, unfinished yet, many parts in dark still,                                then the readers get themselves invited in to the thickets, disentangle the vines, make way through the foliage thick,                  hanging  branches and twigs,  light falls in the darkened corners, the poet and creator, the oracle himself, sits looking at the flowers and fruits                                  bathed in a new light, on what the subconscious spoke, when he listens,  the singing of the birds acquires new meaning,                                   sound of the running brook has a rhythm not familiar, that take him to the sea, where all end in a swim, like in a dream*

Speakings of a world hidden under shadows
Immaculately organizing every letter of the alphabet in slightly different ways to make what you read today. My brain is the battery charged with the words I say in different ways, And until I am depleted, I am defeated to keep writing the words flowing like a fresh summer's flash flood monsoon, Hopefully soon I will fall asleep, So I can put away this curse of a brain that keeps saying things I can't help but see.

Pigments - 10w
The world changes around me but not as I sit perched, collecting memories and organizing them in my thoughts that sprout up through cracks as would a **** in concrete. A dandelion. Not you, a rose, like in Tupac's poem. And i digress because thats what I do more often than not. We speak of our impressionist dreams that are just alike, but not yet realized. Not a one. Well one or two but that's it. And that's only a tip of an iceberg. Which is us in danger of melting like the rest of the revolutionaries along with all the changes occuring around us. Will our love change right along with us  and everything else? how will it be to be forty and married? Would we be content? would you go search for him? If you found god would you be done with me. Would you declare me a heretic if I didn't go to church and let jesus live inside me along with the rest of my collectibles. If you found god, would I pretend to have as well so as to not lose you. Hopefully, and isn't that all we are, a sack full of fast foods, hope and regrets. Nothing will go south or sour! We can't let it! Our love will survive all the ****** gods, alcohol, ****** alleys, concrete basketball courts, blacks in the ghetto, american presidents, economic revolutions, rapists, murderers, taxes, mortgages and regime changes. My tongue, along with my eyes, along with my lips, along with my fingers, along with my hair, along with my hair, along with my grey matter, along with my heart, does truly believe we will love longer, harder, deeper, truer and out last, out live, out happy, out joy, out defeat, out wit everyone. I told the elders we don't bother to pray. But we dream very well and not in the real world, not in their world, but in our world. The one we created for ourselves to fly in and out of rain clouds and swim in black water thats flooded on the inside of parking garages. I want to tell you things in a way that can convey myself and still be understood fully. I'm not sure if it is possible to get a ride, convey, write or paint my mind, my soul, my heart properly enough. but if anyone could ever understand my sore joints, and dances with death,it'd be you right? Because we are the same. we have been drinking from the same cup. and been dealt the same ****** hand but at different games. you are the lotus on your wrist and I am the owl in my throat and it means everything yet nothing to everyone else's big scheme. and still everything to ours. you are the only one here who understands why I think rain puddles with oil in them are beautiful.
