Kashmir Delirium Oh People Of Earth! Thankful are we, For each act of benevolence shown to us. Your gilded sweet words describing, The beauty of Kasmir, land and people. Mention in books and talks of it's riches, Naming it the Sweet Paradise Of Earth. The Lord has been bountiful to Kashmir, Treasure of resources in every sphere. To elevate each aspect, our wish for life, As every acre of this land is worth millions. Full of treasures and recreational value, Forestry with grandeur and silvery rivers. The outside world's view is so limited, Simple folks living in the lap of rich bounty. Mentioned in world forums and organizations, But what of the goal of giving us freedom? What has The UN established in our name? To measure the pain and anguish we bear, At the hands, of our supposed benefactors. The saviours who has us fractured. But in reality they train their enforcers, In the art of creating oceans of tears. The red blood now hidden in camouflage, The spent shells now gathered and hidden. The leaders we are told to elect in electoral shams, Run publicity kiosks and swell friend lists. Joint conferences to address personal interests Dialogues that never address the root issues. Just the formalities and no sympathy, For the ones burnt in cruel sadistic reprisals. The hypocrisy continues deliriously unabated, More augmentation of the security forces. For a first hand view of deep hypocrisy, Walk this land, you know as beautiful. Religious leaders will teach you political artistry, Sermons full of ambiguity and guile. Waywardness and narrow mindedness on display, Political apologists give great lessons. Religion and religious ethnicity are tools, That keep minds and bodies in total check. Gamesmanship by leaders is the rule of thumb, As promises are forgotten once office is obtained. When writing of this succulent beautiful land, Write of the air, pregnant with sadistic practices. This land is being stripped of worldly treasures, And the greatest treasure is mistreated daily. The best of nation is the inhabitants, Ignored are the real gems of this beautiful paradise.

walk into the room With your pencil in your hand You see somebody naked And you say, who is that man? You try so hard But you dont understand Just what youll say When you get home Because something is happening here But you dont know what it is Do you, mister jones? You raise up your head And you ask, is this where it is? And somebody points to you and says Its his And you say, whats mine? And somebody else says, where what is? And you say, oh my god Am I here all alone? Because something is happening here But you dont know what it is Do you, mister jones? You hand in your ticket And you go watch the geek Who immediately walks up to you When he hears you speak And says, how does it feel To be such a freak? And you say, impossible As he hands you a bone Because something is happening here But you dont know what it is Do you, mister jones? You have many contacts Among the lumberjacks To get you facts When someone attacks your imagination But nobody has any respect Anyway they already expect you To just give a check To tax-deductible charity organizations Youve been with the professors And theyve all liked your looks With great lawyers you have Discussed lepers and crooks Youve been through all of F. scott fitzgeralds books Youre very well read Its well known Because something is happening here But you dont know what it is Do you, mister jones? Well, the sword swallower, he comes up to you And then he kneels He crosses himself And then he clicks his high heels And without further notice He asks you how it feels And he says, here is your throat back Thanks for the loan Because something is happening here But you dont know what it is Do you, mister jones? Now you see this one-eyed ****** Shouting the word now And you say, for what reason? And he says, how? And you say, what does this mean? And he screams back, youre a cow Give me some milk Or else go home Because something is happening here But you dont know what it is Do you, mister jones? Well, you walk into the room Like a camel and then you frown You put your eyes in your pocket And your nose on the ground There ought to be a law Against you comin around You should be made To wear earphones Because something is happening here But you dont know what it is Do you, mister jones?

I used to feel ashamed to be put in the category of: Illegal, immigrant, undocumented, Or simply not a U.S Citizen I’ve been oppressed and rejected from: Jobs, schools and programs, Because I’m not a red-blooded American But through God I learned that I should Be proud of who I am and what country I come from And that makes me free Because I still have choices I still have options As long as I try, I can smile As long as I have God My life is worthwhile Because I’m His child I can’t contain myself any more I’m tired of being broke and poor I’m going to get that full ride Into a 4 year college I’m going to get that steady job security with: A steady paycheck, that’s re-locatable and it’s fun I’m tired of lying, hiding, and scamming To get into organizations, staffing agencies and jobs That would help my life be healthier I dislike the fact that you have to Get married to get a green card I hate using a fake social security number Or tax ID on applications that ask for it I don’t like making up excuses about Why I don’t qualify for financial aid or unemployment But I’m going to man up and keep moving forward It doesn’t matter how much: Pain, anxiety, frustration, bad attitudes, Disappointment, confusion, heart break Or put downs I get in life I’ll keep fighting the good fight with all my heart And I’m going to be honest even if hurts me Because I still have choices I still have options As long as I try, I can smile As long as I have my God, My life is worthwhile Because I am His child By Shannon Pollard © December 2012

I used to live in a country That was based on liberty And where just anybody Could achieve prosperity That with assured equality And working diligently One could expect definitely To succeed economically If you saved all the money Left over from your salary To save to bring your family A step closer to solvency. Not an impossible proposition, It was based on the condition Of a grand national institution Which promised that stabilization By taxing us and corporations With an equitable correlation Between folks of humble station And the larger organizations Working in happy syncopation. A welcome feeling of elation Would descend upon our nation And keep us from stagnation Or going into nationwide deflation, Or just as scary, a huge inflation. Now I look upon our history And see decades of misery Laid upon us by calumny By those meant to fortify And build up our security. The constant forces of calamity If we accept less than probity From those who have no honesty Choosing leaders based on beauty A national cult of personality Then permit political chicanery By people with no dignity Only a greedy criminality That pretends to propriety And a devout base of spirituality When what we have is actually A kangaroo court of dishonesty Without a care for the citizenry.

DISINTEGRATION NATION
In the name of democracy An entire state is terrorized Decade after decade Freedoms are curbed Protests are brutally suppressed People are brutally oppressed Education is diluted In the name of democracy The Army turns from protector to oppressor Every soldier marching past With his head held high Sounds the death knell For every man, woman and child In the name of democracy Soldiers break into houses Wielding their massive rifles As if it is their birthright As the peace and harmony within Is replaced by abject terror In the name of democracy All morals are flung out of the window As the women are ***** The men who challenge this unspeakable atrocity Are swiftly silenced with bullets As the children begin screaming in terror They are molested, one by one Until the trauma overcomes them Such that, they lose their voices They lose their minds They lose their hearts Meanwhile, the soldiers slip away quietly Having completed a good day of work In the name of democracy In the name of democracy India and Pakistan, warring for decades Use Kashmir as a bait As a means to satisfy Their unquenchable thirst for power As the potion simmers on Fuelled by hate on both sides Curfews and lockdowns follow with alarming regularity Schools and colleges are shut down Political organizations are banned The Internet is crippled Mobiles and landlines are killed Even the most feeble of all protests Is brutally quelled with bullets and grenades In the name of democracy Consent is dead and buried As nationalism takes centre stage The world watches on silently Allowing India, the oppressors-in-chief To reclaim the moral high ground And suddenly proclaim themselves as saviours Leaving the beleaguered Kashmiris no choice But to bow to their captors Their dreams of self-determination Shattered ruthlessly in the course of a mad, mad day In the name of democracy

War will **** with mighty weapons Streets will **** with guns and poverty Nations of children who are starving but we don’t see Diseases from mosquitoes and flees Over developed sexually transmitted diseases But people waste time standing in line To throw the first stone casting bones From ancients organizations with more power than the united nations Spend their money on campaigns against what is natural Spend their time working themselves up in a frenzy of stupidity When death can come in more than a million ways Why can’t we learn to live and love better in these lonely days

A shout out to my history teacher who makes the time to teach for I’ve picked up on the subtext she can’t speak: if you teach to the test no one’s really being taught all we learn is to chase empty numbers and you wonder why we’re all burnt out when the end goal isn’t our happiness now when the very organizations meant to support education profit off those who have no choice but to turn to them when the ones who can pay to prep the ones who work until they can't see straight, the so called “high achievers” are the only ones who matter and we ourselves kick everyone else off the ladder if standardization is supposed to make education equal then at the very least it should teach that we all have a spot, that in society, we can all be contributing members, but it’s not. like my history teacher’s given me, we need lessons to life rather than to test it’s time we set a better example for our students Teach us that even when the blocks have fallen down, we can rebuild the tower

I have had two opportunites to meet Muhammad Ali, once in Oklahoma City(1972) while working for KWTV Channel-9, and the second time in 1975,working for WAVE-TV Channel-3, Louisville, Kentucky, which is his hometown. On each occasion he was in town for some type of benefit appearance. At Channel 3, the sports director was Ed Kallay, who was to do the interview, and who just happened to be Ali's mentor when Ali was much younger and involved with "Golden Gloves", a youth boxing organization. I was a 'director' in the production dept. and it was my job to set up and direct the cameras, etc., during the taping. He was a fascinating man, eloquent, extremely intelligent, charismatic, approachable, with a great sense of humor. When I introduced myself, he looked at me and said,"I've met you before, in Oklahoma City." Needless to say, "I was stunned!" During the 'pre-taping' conversation, the three of us were having a cup of coffee. I made a comment on the size of his hands. I placed my right hand flat against his left, thumb to thumb, finger to finger.. He curled his fingers over mine, nearly hiding them. I sure wouldn't want to get hit by him. He was, admittingly, also a 'bit' of a 'self-promoter.' During that conversation, he made the following comment: "A few weeks before a fight, I start shooting my mouth off, make a lot of people mad, but come fight night they really lay it down, (then took his thumb and swiped it across the open palm of his other hand, simulating the money bets being placed with the Vegas bookies.) let the 'show' begin!" And, did it ever!! He was also a great humanitarian, donating to various charities, youth organizations, and never forgetting his roots. A remarkable man! God Bless You, Muhammad Ali! richard riddle: 06-05-2016

Sometimes the monsters that we see in our lives aren't necessarily ugly, gory, nor ****** They could have the most sincere-looking smiles; Flowing, golden locks; Bold eyes that almost sparkle they speak about something they're passionate about; Maybe their teeth are so white and straight that anyone would feel insecure about their own; Maybe their hobbies and talents are similar to yours, and you think that there's no other person out there who could be better of a friend than them, who also remembers all the lyrics of that Red Hot Chili Peppers song; They could have cute freckles on their nose, or scars that just make them look that much more awesome to you; Or maybe this person was a huge part of your childhood, and you think they could never abandon you; They could seem like a good person because they volunteer, go to Church, or participate in organizations; Perhaps they're close with your other friends, and there's no way they would pick someone mean to join your group; They could look similarly to any other person in your life, But they have a vile heart; They only became close with you to know all your problems, secrets, goals and dreams, and to crush you from the inside out; They could pretend to be friends with you, only to benefit from it themselves; They'll ask you nicely, then rip you apart; They'll get close with your parents: "Hi Mrs. Ferne, you look lovely today!" And will make your parents wish they were you; They could talk behind your back, and wish for the moment of your downfall to come as quick as possible; They could pick at your insecurities and make you feel bad about yourself, then end it with a "I'm just kidding!" Monsters aren't just in movies; Even the devil was a beautiful angel once.

- I’ve been accepted in a number of small-town organizations, Constructed by some confetti-fetishists who craved nothing more than To write their thoughts onto the underside of a bridge, Abandoned due to incredible uprisings of what some would call faux water. They’d told me, Multiple times actually, That I was bound to their ideals and morals forever; That they’d essentially taken the parts of my brain that mattered And the sections of my heart I knew couldn’t feel emotion but Hoped dangerously that they, under suitable conditions, just might And tossed them into a box Snuck down to the river Let it drift away as I slept alone. I’ve been afraid to try new things, always afraid, Always wandering about with a finger to the air and a Paintbrush to mark where I‘ve been. To think that they “saved me,” Or “kept me from a suicidal afterparty” is now Only a thought rather than action. And now Slowly, gently, He lift a glass of dust to his mouth Wondering who he used to be As I watch myself from the corner. -

The Bridge Occult
By Arcassin Burnham Scowl up my face for the moves you make, You Are the definition to finding a word in the Webster's dictionary, I'm so Appalled!!!!! No better way to punish someone you want to destroy in an office full of documents and papers for charitable organizations, That can be dealt with later, He enjoys the oral way too often, And shes never been penetrated, masterful until he's in his coffin, Virginity will get authenticated, Escalated, Elevated, Rejuvenated, Just be glad that your face is straightened.

"Fifty Shades Of A Refined Reddish-Blue"
i am fascinated by the connections high school forms. who knew that that friend of a friend who was my sixth grade enemy’s classmate was the ex of my best friend? it’s a labyrinth of familiarity and camaraderie, and some might call it a trap; if it is, then it’s the most beautiful maze i’ve gotten lost in. one too many times, i’ve made a list of my own; of people i know, of faces i recognize and of everyone in between. i’ve mapped out names and drawn lines to them like a game of connect the dots, all those relationships overlapping like venn diagrams with open ends. with that being said, oftentimes, i wonder how the people i know describe me to strangers. i wonder how many times my name has shown up in conversations i was pushed to be part of. i barely have anything to say about myself, so what would they have to say about me? that kid with a camera. someone who can write. pretentious tweeter, Tumblr girl, member of a few clubs and organizations. student. ***** daughter. sister. ****** friend. it’s a possibly endless list and a mess of adjectives. most days, i don’t know what- rather, who- i am... but here’s one thing i know: i don’t want to be just another person in a story. i’m not just ex girlfriend; not just used-to-be classmate; not just girl best friend; not just someone’s crush or someone crushing on someone else. i’m not somebody else’s past or future or present. i don’t want to be just that, don’t want to be confined to a constellation of connections that someone has created for themselves. yes, i may not know who i am yet, but i won’t let myself be a pronoun thrown around, a fill-in, a joke to tell. i’m not your punch line. not your ice breaker. not that one person you should talk about when the rivers have run dry, if you know what i mean. i’m a bigger believer of coincidence than i am of destiny. i am here because of my choices, a build up of everyone else’s words and actions over the past years. i am here not for a reason- i am here, and along the way, i’m making my own reasons to be. you know me not because of a bigger plan. but maybe because i ran in to you in a hallway. maybe because the administration put us in the same group when we were transferees. maybe because you complimented my music taste. maybe because i asked if i could tag along to your auditions. we are whatever we are because of choice; of coincidence; of chance. call it luck. call it unfortunate. call it karma. this is what we have; this is what we are; this is what i am; and it can only be accounted to you, and i, and so many other people, and so many other factors. you are bright and warm and beautiful. you are a constellation without them. don’t let yourself be a secondary character. this is your story. be the villain, be the hero, be whoever you want to be. believe this: you are not what other people say you are.

Two excerpts, for the full article, see the notes "It occurred to me that there were two sets of virtues, the résumé virtues and the eulogy virtues. The résumé virtues are the skills you bring to the marketplace. The eulogy virtues are the ones that are talked about at your funeral — whether you were kind, brave, honest or faithful. Were you capable of deep love? We all know that the eulogy virtues are more important than the résumé ones. But our culture and our educational systems spend more time teaching the skills and strategies you need for career success than the qualities you need to radiate that sort of inner light. Many of us are clearer on how to build an external career than on how to build inner character. But if you live for external achievement, years pass and the deepest parts of you go unexplored and unstructured. You lack a moral vocabulary. It is easy to slip into a self-satisfied moral mediocrity. You grade yourself on a forgiving curve. You figure as long as you are not obviously hurting anybody and people seem to like you, you must be O.K. But you live with an unconscious boredom, separated from the deepest meaning of life and the highest moral joys. Gradually, a humiliating gap opens between your actual self and your desired self, between you and those incandescent souls you sometimes meet." "External ambitions are never satisfied because there’s always something more to achieve. But the stumblers occasionally experience moments of joy. There’s joy in freely chosen obedience to organizations, ideas and people. There’s joy in mutual stumbling. There’s an aesthetic joy we feel when we see morally good action, when we run across someone who is quiet and humble and good, when we see that however old we are, there’s lots to do ahead. The stumbler doesn’t build her life by being better than others, but by being better than she used to be. Unexpectedly, there are transcendent moments of deep tranquillity. For most of their lives their inner and outer ambitions are strong and in balance. But eventually, at moments of rare joy, career ambitions pause, the ego rests, the stumbler looks out at a picnic or dinner or a valley and is overwhelmed by a feeling of limitless gratitude, and an acceptance of the fact that life has treated her much better than she deserves. Those are the people we want to be."
