"noisemakers" poems
****** affliction of a lack of affection companion Hand and hand strolling greater than syrupy plunging and even sometimes buddy shrugging over wooden noisemakers We whistle with their metal strings and through the pasta soft ones in our throats but no nest colored mares seem to hear our flamboyant feather calls for future fondling So I scribe slight implied short letters invites to drink joints and nature jaunts All too well thought out hoping your advanced technology cannot trace the time I spent to type The overanalysis of our psych: her and I’s wondering why she doesn’t have an inkling for a cute fall date where we attempt to bake apple pies It’s all too contrived, I know I’ll strive for delusion Accept a useful interpretation for our chemical inflammation and let sparks pass it by Like itsy bitsy flies laying eggs in a wound for stagnant water maggots They’ll eat away the thought well where all my cranial zaps seem to dwell.

There are bloggers and selfie-takers, Know the difference. There are noisemakers and peacemakers, I can show you the evidence. There are admirers and haters. Be especially mindful. There are well-wishers and supporters. Be very careful The are naysayers and yeasayers Always be aware.  There are brothers and brother's keeper, Always ready to take care. There are destroyers and fixers, Separate them. There are mixers and blenders, We need them. There are writers and publishers, They need each other. There are readers and proofreader. Both read for different reasons. There are bystanders and onlookers. Both will be watching. There are movers and shakers, One of them has the edge. There are dreams snatches and vision busters, Be on the lookout. There are ghost whisperers and Ghostbusters, Both have connection to a ghost. There are buyers and sellers, Each one benefits. There are singers and there are dancers. Everyone provides some entertainment. ©IvanBrooksPoetry 21/8/2018

Bring out the noise makers and kneel at the alter. Blow your kisses to the breeze and let midnight fall. Charity mesmerizes me, comforts me and brings me around. The people are dying and soldiers bullets are flying. Old Mother Earth tells it like it is. No terrorist threat, just slam the coast one time, slam the coast two time. Blow those noisemakers and throw your kisses to the breeze, kneel at the alter and let midnight fall.

A sweet sponge cake With snow-white icing And a single candle As big as a basketball The table's covered in silk Confetti all over the walls And the floor, too It's time to celebrate The candle lights up They're hesitant Too good to eat, they think Noisemakers distract them But there's no noisemakers to be found One of them grabs the knife and sighs It has to happen The other make a wish And the room goes dark The knife makes a deep cut Unexpectedly, jam comes out They're scared Invisible noisemakers continue to play The cake remains still, unaffected by time The one with the knife did not know what to do but throw it And it hits another, but not the cake Jam falls, drop by drop The silky tablecloth gets ripped It was never strong enough Noise grows deafening The birthday child cries

Another New Year Whoop-de-do I could care less How about you? Just another year To ***** up again No resolutions No light at the end Take out the hats And the noisemakers too Now you know just what to do Watch the ball drop Toast the champagne Soon you will be feeling no pain Another New Year To feel all alone This New Year’s Eve I’m just staying home

New Year Again
boisterous people blowing horns twisting noisemakers wearing glittery hats and shiny beads drinking champagne with bubbles giving a shout of 'HAPPY NEW YEAR!' *good bye and good riddance 2014*

Hit her with the birch twigs and marshall a crowd of claws and peepers. [and then try] Bag their eyes with sordid flares and scandalous noisemakers. [and then try] Blur the distinction between tribute and torture: just enough of each. [and then try] The audience backs odds on purity or pregnancy. [and then try] She will be a critical darling or she will not be, depending on the rhythm of the spell and the keenness of her appetite.
