"neutrino" poems
At the going down of the sun
will the world be less complete,
the cinched robe of night less intolerable,
as she ebbs away on cosmic string,
emulating a massless, dazed neutrino
blinking in and out of existence,
unobserved and uneffected,
liquored and unloved?
In the wake of a June flowering,
when foxglove lures the honeybee
in six day flash, bud to corolla,
blossom to blossom, parade of stigmas,
digitalis stamen braved, anther at his back,
the bee comes gathering where none else dare.

My job is to find the Higgs Boson
with experiments I hope might expose one,
and when asked, day to day,
to define it I say:
'a neutrino without any clothes on'.

Tabulation without results
Living here
I’m a part of cults
More than one
Not even two
Yes me.
Yes you.
I sometimes doubt
That we‘ll ever see
I sometimes doubt
If we could ever be
Like the electrons
Floating in empty space
We don’t even see
What’s right in front of our face?
Like neutrinos never erased
Sooner or later
By this hovering planet
We’ll be defaced
Tabulation without results
Living here
I’m a part of cults
More than one
Not even two
Yes me.
Yes you.
Capture the microcosm effect
Separation united
From the dangerous affect

if a woman were to wile
and beguile me
it would be she--
she is ebola, burning hot and fast
replicating majesty
without space or energy--
she is spirit in a short circuit
voltage and current--
she aptly replaces
the schematics
copied down in physics.
a girl of the Ganges--
distance distracts
and remembers little
yet often still i pray to
insulate her sparks, to
absorb each ionic mote
of excess she discharges,
wrap them in neutrino ribbons
and save them under my vest
for the birthdays still to come.

There is no greater force than to consume a burning sun
The chemical reaction measured but the megaton
But when slowly done in a most diabolically methodical fashion
Each helium neutrino ripped apart by atomizing pure passion
Like helpless water circling down a drain pulled hopelessly in
Time will move ever so slowly once within
With no beginning......and no end........
Every particle similarly blasted into basic atomic makeup
There is no bearing size of space for matter to take up
With each consumed substance its dark potential uplifts
Uniformly placed all things amazingly fit
In a place where nothing so exponential should sits
All melting into an event horizontal pit
Every last light will parish.......not one bit will survive........
This force will never desist
Yet everything will still exist
On the great spinning disc of time
That has merely yet to reverse in our puny mind
To bang all possessions in unpredictable directions
Never really thinking of correcting imperfections
Because everything has always been there......and never was.....

I sit in the bottom of a Well,
Its walls worn smooth by time.
Above, a solitary star,
One of seven sisters, shines.
Neutrinos in abundance,
like angels on a pin,
of minute mass, invisible
are forever pouring in.
All about me they dash by
Without an outward sign..
Even in these hidden depths
They’re an elusive find.
They speed on through to other fates
And leave me to my climb.

The eternal question.
If Immense pressure can form a diamond from atoms, rip a star apart as a supernova, turn it inside out as an endless black hole vacuum or send it hyper spinning as a violent Neutrino, then what of Man born of the same matter?
I believe in Red's Quote,
"Get busy living or get busy dying!"
