"nape" poems
if ever you wonder if ever your heart should grow curious for lust and love and spirit electricity that splits the spine a jolt of lightening rushing through wide open veins baby hairs standing on end on the nape of your neck a wave of cold sweat dripping through your hair moistens your back if ever a moment passes if ever you refrain from yelling loud sing a melody scream “i love you” skip through a crowd of people and smile laugh dance and forget your worry the temporary madness of yesterday because you are static, ecstatic you are wonderful

cultivation of gratitude
Soft melodies of the deep sea echo Moonlight dances on my pretty scales And icy bubbles whirl under my chest Through my slippery hair And down into my lungs to clear the way for overflowing foam Laughter splashes behind my lips as my anticipation rises Waiting for a night of twisted fairy-tales and uncalled for surprises. Shimmering bodies swarm in spirals Grinding in unison with the waves crashing at the surface We're anxious for overflowing foam and hidden treasures Purple light pierces the dark like shards of crystals Casting a ghostly shade on bulbous faces Pressure rises as each wave surges Whirlpools of hot breath suffocate our gills But the sidelines are shallow And stragglers float motionless Hair like seaweed at the nape of his neck Unbuttoned linen soaked and dripping Her hollow eyes glow green Like the jelly orbs of a fish under florescent lights She’s pressed against a boy who has hooks for fins Searching for the parts that are edible Tender, Scale-less, Slippery Nothing wrong with being the catch of the day Right? Bubbles rise and pop as the last melodies drown Schools of us are begging for shiny hooks and bad decisions A handsome boy has been smiling all the while He’s caught in a fisherman’s net Craving salty lips and the spell to make him a man But fisherman don't care for little mermaids With hearts like sea glass and no hidden treasures to steal Sweaty fins splash and cheer The fishbowl shatters Sea glass spills out onto sand We squirm and flop onto land Gasping without air to breathe As our mouths and ***** thoughts dry in the sun Leaving behind fresh meat without mouths to feed. Rainbow confetti was stuck in the grooves of my scales Wet clothes left on the floor of a steamy bathroom Gasping and moaning into tile With the face of a handsome stranger Because this meat shouldn't go to waste And I'm drunken with desperation For overflowing foam, jewels, and shiny hooks But I'm just another fish in the sea Tumbling in the waves with my rainbow confetti scales.

like a static shock i feel you running up my spine tingling the hair at the nape of my neck something harsh and unexpected but unexpectedly pleasant snapping me back into the present eyes freshly opened and wide like a still from a movie quaking on the bed feeling my limbs tighten against you something soft and yielding but not fully, pressing back pushing my core deep into the down we fight for a moment tearing at each other with teeth with claws with fists, open, closed, before the tension breaks and calm floods over us with no slight pause, sending us both reeling into oblivion, all extremities stilled as we stare gasping into the dark nothingness that surrounds us heads thrown back and hands clasped together as we slip away floating no where, watching galaxies being ****** into black holes and stars exploding into limbo before we find ourselves back in bed, abruptly, chests heaving and slick with sweat where we try to put ourselves back together fruitlessly

Fruitless
When she's around... time slows down... almost to the point of complete nothingness... I look at her and think, is there truly anything more gorgeous?.. When She's around, I feel safe and that anywhere could be called home. Her eyes; a curious stare... my hand twitches, longing to touch her curlicious hair. Our gaze's meet, and I find myself drifting... closer and closer to her feet. Her lips just within a leanings reach. Her dimples nearly touching my cheek... Her sent... 'Heavenly'. I run my hand through her hair, and I hear her gasp, a sudden rush and a cool breeze changes the whole atmosphere. Her legs grab my waist and I stare into the pupils. She leans in, our eyes drift shut but our lips finally meet and I feel the grip of her legs tighten around my waist... I walk forward until her chest presses against mine and her back makes love with the wall. I wrench her hair and kiss down her chest, real slow. I mumble sweet nothingness into her ear whilst I caress her bare ******* Her legs decend and wrap around mine and I hear her begin to beg. The second my tongue makes contact with the nape of her neck her hips grind tight against mine. This is not routine, she is trembling. Brewing like a steam pipe, compressed, ready to burst. I slip my tongue into her mouth and open it as I **** the air clean from her lungs. It is at this point her legs curls inward and rips me back, causing me to fall and back crashes against the floor and she lands right on my lap. I grab her waist as she grips onto me. The night is young, and ready to be explored. Our quest into each other will bring us beyond the star systems to a plane uncharted and unlike any other, ventured before. The night sky will bear witness to our event and the stars will weep out of sheer awe from beauty. Life, being made in a single dance of love and our moans, and wails and cries of ecstasy and desire, passion and Love... and when it was all over.. we held one another.. and peeped into each others soul. It was love... Love.. Love of the Titans.

when the moon has finally succumbed to the flirtatious will of night and even stars grow weary of guarding peaceful slumbers the sneaky temptress twilight makes her move and slithers through my window as she glides into my bed, I can tell she is up to her old tricks my eyes forget to close and my mind forgets to sleep the darkened outlines of my room crumble as each breath escapes my lips and now I remember where I've hidden you, blue eyed boy how strange a sensation to remember your body a rekindled sullen mood your arms are a heavy warmth against my waist and your legs are clumsy giants that wrestle with mine all night yes, this is how it feels when your cheek nuzzles the nape of my neck and even here, your breathing rumbles like a storm rolling out to sea Your heavy exhales compose a sensual melody as each crescendo crashes against my clavicle I'm at the mercy of your lingering shadow I'm the casualty of the pressure in this room I want to stop breathing because I feel that I could make love to you in the blackened air my hands trace out your handsome face and place two gems for your brilliant eyes and caress the sharp angles of your cheek your lips were delicate so I use only my right hand I'd give myself to you so honestly this time but here, loneliness slowly swells your lungs a tar that coats the lining of your throat you are a cruel asphyxiation brought on by the mystic twilight herself but her ruse won't last forever I'll drift off into the sweet solace of sleep and ponder on how you love me more when my bed is empty, blue eyed boy

He used to drink orange juice out of cups that curved, like his smile used to, licking droplets of orange sun off of his lips; sun beams, that shined from his face, and his eyes, which was unfair because he knew; I'm telling you, he knew, that summer was my favorite time of year. And when the sun hit me, like a thousand arrows, from the bow of Heartbreak, that I would think of him and his orange juice cup. And question all the reseons he sent me letters with different stamps, always scribbled in black lines, like his pupils, when I let him see through the jail bars of my soul, and I asked him, no, I begged him to leave me cuffed to the wall, with no food or water, starving my desire to love again, knowing that if I devoured every word, every sound, and memory, of trembling hands on first dates, leaning in to kiss me, with lips and fists at the nape of my neck, clinging to me like feathers; with every single intake of breath, and caterpillars that wrapped themselves in silk, and waited for days and nights to pass, until finally, they spread their wings to reveal Picasso's paintings, that I would eventually die of starvation, as the words ran out, and the kisses became short, and the butterflies died... He knew. He knew that I loved summer; and the drops of orange juice on his lips.

Spoken word.
I rise impalpable from poked and scattered ash. Memories from the 20 years I lived leave a crimson rash on my skin once as white as snow. the skin they began to scar when I was 11, too young to know that they were not just scars. they were the marks on the bark of a green, tender tree- marks of men (or brutes?)- wild and untamed. there was nothing left of innocence, nothing left of rainbows. I did not have my days to play- instead I was being played with. I, a delicate ***** white, stripped and whipped and sold. a love-bit nape, blackened sight, named the girl of gold. but no more, no more. I have risen from the depth with my soft body rugged and sour breath and teeth marks on my collarbone- like it was only yesterday. men and their laughs- tormenting and know-all, conspiring my fall. Now that I'm awake, risen from my grave- (they were kind to give me one) I shall give them back the scars they etched upon my heart, I shall give them back the pain. the little purple bruises. I shall torture them quite insane and they would die, they would eventually die with regrets- regrets not confessed. I would return to my grave and smile, maybe laugh the manly laugh- tormenting and know-all, I would be their fall.

DAME RANCOR.
I'll write a poem on your skin With my lips, our love tattooed on every inch At the back of your ear, your delicate nape Your perfect spine and cheeks like wine I'll breathe the words in your mouth Let your soul read and keep my oath Trace it in your waist and engrave the lines Down to the lovely hidden shrine Your eyes on my eyes, my warm hands on your hips I can hear our poem inside your chest The rhythm of our hearts will turn it into a song And with your gentle kiss I'll write again.

Poem Written on Your Skin
I am a fixture. I am a body whose frigid fingers feel the nape of your neck. I am a picture that is only seen (and never heard), that makes the space prettier with my paralyzed presence. I am a pair of eyes that reflect light, I am a pair of ears that hold your voice, I am a nose that pulls your sweet scent from the air and in doing so, I make you real. But I am not. I am, simply, a fixture.

I am a fixture.
She had skin like sand on the beach               Warmed and tanned by the kiss of the sun At the nape of her neck like the shoreline            The sea met the sand Her hair cascaded like like a tsunami down her back           It was fierce and natural So Pure in its freedom          Her honey colored  eyes shine like the the sun on a spring afternoon Warm and inviting             She was a beach

The Beach
God knows how our neighbor managed to breed His great sow: Whatever his shrewd secret, he kept it hid In the same way He kept the sow--impounded from public stare, Prize ribbon and pig show. But one dusk our questions commended us to a tour Through his lantern-lit Maze of barns to the lintel of the sunk sty door To gape at it: This was no rose-and-larkspurred china suckling With a penny slot For thrift children, nor dolt pig ripe for heckling, About to be Glorified for prime flesh and golden crackling In a parsley halo; Nor even one of the common barnyard sows, Mire-smirched, blowzy, Maunching thistle and knotweed on her snout- cruise-- Bloat tun of milk On the move, hedged by a litter of feat-foot ninnies Shrilling her hulk To halt for a swig at the pink teats. No. This vast Brobdingnag bulk Of a sow lounged belly-bedded on that black compost, Fat-rutted eyes Dream-filmed. What a vision of ancient hoghood must Thus wholly engross The great grandam!--our marvel blazoned a knight, Helmed, in cuirass, Unhorsed and shredded in the grove of combat By a grisly-bristled Boar, fabulous enough to straddle that sow's heat. But our farmer whistled, Then, with a jocular fist thwacked the barrel nape, And the green-copse-castled Pig hove, letting legend like dried mud drop, Slowly, grunt On grunt, up in the flickering light to shape A monument Prodigious in gluttonies as that hog whose want Made lean Lent Of kitchen slops and, stomaching no constraint, Proceeded to swill The seven troughed seas and every earthquaking continent.

ABC Poem (Fruit and Vegetables)
I fixate There, upon its nape, As you rest your head on my shoulder, Your hair falling to one side, So not even a hair’s breadth Keeps my lips from your skin, On your neck. Obsessed There, below your ear The long elegant line connection, To a delicate shoulder, My cheek rests while my head Turned, gently kissing you On your neck. Can’t resist There, **** and raw, So much strength and sensuality, Connects the mind to the heart, Focusing where love resides, Feeling and thoughts collide On your neck.

The Irresistible Sensuality Of A Woman's Neck
Gripping ***** locks knotted to his scalp, she kicks him to the road. Glass bottle bits scrabbling under his fingernails; he yelps, dragging away. Their pressed flower daughter clings to the soot-stained wall. She tiptoes his nape into the pavement, drawing a gag and gurgle bubbling out of his throat. Two fingers pull his nose, resting his teeth on the curb. An incisor plinks to the girl’s feet. She hugs it as close as a home.

The Dentist
Among the nights that came so slow A murky silhouette is all I am doomed to know This unknown world flowing through my fingers Craving more as this wonder lingers Undefinable by action Yet definite in nature Oh why do you haunt me Beautiful creature I reach for your thoughts And fumble divinely You've hidden them well Ever so kindly Fallen my palms to the nape of your neck Bringing you closer Unable to see my curious wreck

Beautiful Creature
Shh, listen. Did you hear it? Its disturbing echo inching down your spine. Its chilling breath at the nape of your neck.   Snaking through my mind, creeping in like fog. Seeping through the floor, spilling secrets like blood.   Sounds of a clock muffled by cotton. Cloaked, it hammers growing louder.   Can’t you hear it? The thumping it emits. Shuddering through my frame, suffocation, blame!   It’s growing louder! Uttering secrets only I know. Acute are the senses that hear its woe.   Pounding away all thoughts, persistent, Its haunts. Shattering midnight it stalks, nightmarish pillow talk.   It grows, my skin pales. louder and louder it wales! A dead man’s heart yells, telling its tale.   Say that I am mad, do you? If only you knew, I hear things in hell, it’s true. Don’t you hear it too?

“A sound as a watch makes when enveloped in cotton.”
The glint in Miss Jessel’s hair was so simple, so quick, that I almost missed it, like an answer to a riddle. Suddenly, I cared about derivatives even less. So casual, how she tossed her strands, and yet how cleverly she caught me. It wrapped me up tight in a cotton memory of home, when I was nine, beneath a fort of pillows and hiding from the night. Her glint of blonde hair now was the light from my hall then that peeked through my door to tuck me in. My parents’ shadows walked across my bedroom wall and I saw them in her hair now, as if my past were a part of her body. My father’s silhouette from twelve years ago snuck in to Miss Jessel’s hair as if he were going to bed down the hall in the nape of my teacher’s neck.

How I failed calculus
She gives him his eyes, she found them Among some rubble, among some beetles He gives her her skin He just seemed to pull it down out of the air and lay it over her She weeps with fearfulness and astonishment She has found his hands for him, and fitted them freshly at the wrists They are amazed at themselves, they go feeling all over her He has assembled her spine, he cleaned each piece carefully And sets them in perfect order A superhuman puzzle but he is inspired She leans back twisting this way and that, using it and laughing Incredulous Now she has brought his feet, she is connecting them So that his whole body lights up And he has fashioned her new hips With all fittings complete and with newly wound coils, all shiningly oiled He is polishing every part, he himself can hardly believe it They keep taking each other to the sun, they find they can easily To test each new thing at each new step And now she smoothes over him the plates of his skull So that the joints are invisible And now he connects her throat, her ******* and the pit of her stomach With a single wire She gives him his teeth, tying the the roots to the centrepin of his body He sets the little circlets on her fingertips She stiches his body here and there with steely purple silk He oils the delicate cogs of her mouth She inlays with deep cut scrolls the nape of his neck He sinks into place the inside of her thighs So, gasping with joy, with cries of wonderment Like two gods of mud Sprawling in the dirt, but with infinite care They bring each other to perfection.

I was leaning over the railings Of your condominium's 11th floor fire exit. It was a beautiful night, just a clear sky Filled with stars. I was smoking then while You were just standing right behind me, I leaned a little bit more. You told me to stand back "Aren't you scared?" I told you that i have conquered My fear of heights Long before we spoke again After weeks of complete silence. I wasn't lying. I wasn't afraid of falling— dying anymore. But that morning, Your hands around my waist, Lips on the nape of my neck Just breathing, I drowned. My throat closed up, My lungs filled with your scent, My heart got heavier. Your touch wasn't supposed to make me Feel every inch i loved about you. I was falling again, Dying for your love; I thought i have conquered my fear. "Aren't you scared?" Terrified.

glamourous indie rock n' roll orbited our tiny kitchen as i kissed the nape of her neck. lauren sliced the avocados. i prepped the pasta. our neat little domestic life. her eyes would ignite mine, as she spoke of reinventing the world with her love. every word rang with perfect truth, for she had dissolved my callused heart, and focused my idiot head. and that night i lied in blankets of her mercy. as she licked the wicked wounds of complacent cruelty. i've never missed her more.
