Thick, warm, fuzzy air
Radiates against your skin, making you want to doze off
You sit on the front of a low red car that looks another era, leaning on the glossy hood.
I want to put your lips on mine
The world feels yellow, and orange.
It's as if clear smoke has filled the air
My eyes are dimmed through thick sunglasses, my body absorbing the warmth through jeans and a small black shirt
I'm in a lucid daze
Looking at you through a curtain of straight black hair, not bothered to move it from my face.
You're eyes the crisp refreshing blue in a world tinted amber
Like fresh water, so cooling as I gaze in them.
Like a spray of water on your back
After hours of sunbathing
We sit there
We say nothing
We take in the sun
   We don't need anything else

In between a dream
I heard your name whispered
In between reality
I had a scary trip

Brain scrambled
Consciously confused
I was in between

Mid sleep
I tremble awake
The voices have found me
In between my sanity

I have no more safe place
No more escape
The voices found me
In between

you can't make a flower grow
by telling it you love it,
by telling it it's beautiful.

a flower will continue to wither away,
even if you keep saying "I'm here for you."
when winter comes and the flower begins to die,
telling the flower "it gets better" won't warm the temperature.

don't try to nurture a flower you picked.
it will never be safer in your hands,
than it was in the grass.
flowers will dry when you rip them from the roots.

don't look at a brown flower,
and ask it "whats wrong".
it wouldn't tell you
even if it could talk.

don't lie to the flower
and say "its going to be okay"
because you put it in a vase.
the flower knows its not the same.

don't bother saying "you're not alone"
because flowers die all the time,
it already knows.
the flower is still on its own.

you can't glue the petals back on,
after you've plucked them all for a game.
she probably doesn't love you,
and the flower is not to blame.

you can't straighten out the stem,
after you've stepped on it in passing.
it will always be bent
even if you repent.

"i didn't mean to" means nothing to a flower
after you leave it in the dark.
it doesn't matter what you've said,
the flower is already dead.

a withered and dry flower,
will not stand up and turn green
just because you love it.

these things are simple facts,
its how nature works,
and nature will never love you back.

i know you're really trying,
and doing everything you can.
but without water and sun,
the flower will keep dying.

She said She doesn't wanna talk
I waited for her to look back

I tried convincing her
She showed me her *******

I only ask you not to go blind on hatred
Be kind though we got parted
We all have misunderstandings, different opinions which leads to hatred. Be kind to everyone even if you hate them.

It's the middle of the night
I'm hoping you're awake
I see the message you sent
"Are you still awake my lady"
And my heart starts to flutter
I start to freak out
Hoping you are still awake
And then that moment of truth

It's the middle of the night
I missed your message
By a few minutes
But you're still here
Butterflies start flying
In my tummy

It's the middle of the night
My love for you burns bright
As I cry with happiness
That someone could love me as much
As you do
It's love that I feel for you
And I will never let you go

trying not to
**** myself like
gratitude journals
and internalizing every
word on drake's new album
trying to understand
why you want to **** me
in the middle of
12 am twitter dms
wearing your words
like a straight jacket
that once made me feel
free
tiny desk concerts like
a hard life lesson
with lukewarm thoughts
of you on the hottest
of days

I stand in the middle of the road,
Gazing past the path I have traveled,
The path that's yet to be measured.
Wondering how I have changed from a kid to a teenager and then to an adult.
Introspecting my progress,
thrilled for new ways to discover.

I stand in the middle somewhere.
Afraid, excited and hopeful.

through the streets and column cracks
culture weaves and summer smacks
sacred figures, holy shrine
monastery in grand design

cathedrals, convents, heaven’s stars
god of neptune, god of mars
doge’s palace, alley ways
gondolier on full display

winged lions on pastel breeze
cicada singing from the trees
pillar walk of saint mark's square
basilica in all its flare

crosses shade the carousel
a bridge of sigh that leads to ****
golden stairs on placid ridge
arches of rialto bridge

torcello! murano! grigio!
the countess rides the river poe!
sins of seven, fiery hides
poplars bank the levee side

black plague, attila the ***
eden formed before the sun
paradise above the marsh
high alter, gothic arch

middle age, religious wars
celestial fountains, marble floors
sculpted peacock, catholic faith
all is true the great god saith

Sweet summer leaves breathe with the breeze
Like a mild smile
Like a country mile
Sit with them awhile while you feel at ease

The sun soaks the smoke pouring from his throat
Cold in whirling blue
And like his suit
You can see right through the seams of his coat

Fall river blues run deep into his mind
Like a thousand blank stares
Coming from the air
That's stale and bare with no sense of time

Crisp winds that bend the crease of his tie
Holding in his hand
The promise of a man
He understands what it's like to want to die

It will never be easy as some people would say
To see the black and white but still think in gray
Admitting that the extreme end of one side isn’t always the way to go
Unless the lack of redeeming qualities simply make it so
Especially in matters left to one’s personal choice
It calls for the need to look at those of different perspectives and voice

Changes around us require both firmness and flexibility
To get with the times that abounds in ambiguity
In an atmosphere that show a scarcity of pleasance
It would help if in our eyes there is balance
Facing the fact that flaws and fine points can actually coexist
That understanding is the aid for ones inner peace to persist

Tolerance for differences must be present as a form of diplomacy
Though decency must still take root and defend ones boundary
Respecting choices for the sake of peace is truly a noble aspiration
But not before the light and shadow have gone through careful separation
Acceptance and rejection can be balanced though challenging it may sound
An equal and balanced blend of both needed to pave a road in walking the middle ground.

in her life
there are worlds
full of lies and illusions

in her life
there are moments
where she just wants to press the pause button

when the eyes she used to stare are no longer blue
when the stories she heard are no longer true
she wishes she could undo
everything he put her through

took her long before she could finally breathe
before she could finally eat

then
again
she's ruined

in just a blink
she's trapped
in the middle of time

she thought she left it behind
but it was just in her mind
no matter how much she declined
there she is
intertwined

she thought her life is no longer his
she might need to rethink
she thought she can finally spread her wings

but there she is
trapped in the middle of everything

Straight borders,
Carved by former rulers,
Hidden treasures,
Disparity and deserts,
Majority poor,
Civil war,
Super wealthy,
Mindsets unhealthy,
Transatlantic bombs,
Landing on the wronged,
Once an oasis,
Now no go places,
Oil worth billions,
Starving children,
International villains,
Attacking civilians,
In constant crisis,
Lack of human kindness.

Approaching like a soul with a bad news update
Small things gradually start to appear
Time,
Loss,
Fear,
That first grey hair on your head
Now showing up in places that you dread
Pants,
Chest,
Nostrils,
No way man,
Impossible
The beat of the radio flicks from Radio 1 to 2
Don't try and deny it, you know this to be true
Now Elbow,
Mike and the Mechanics
Nothing wrong with a bit of Elvis Presley
Now this is getting scary
I'm going to need a Harley or a soft top soon
Impress the ladies that I'm still in tune
Chinos,
Loafers,
A semi grey goatee
Oh man,
I hate becoming an oldie

it's quiet in the classroom.
or maybe I've gone deaf;
oh no,
what if I have?
I wouldn't mind I guess,
At least I wouldn't need to listen to all these ****** middle schoolers
why does anyone and everyone that's in middle school have to be so ******* ****** al the time? good lord

At the center
of my being
I am
a soul
wrapped in precious time
I am
grateful
to know
the gift of life
is spirit
that matters
in the dust of stars
I am
in the middle
of a miracle
that never stops
giving
