"lend" poems
We're forced, each man, to walk a trialed path— resisted trek, uphill through blinding daze that shrouds with crucible's perplexing haze till fog-white skies yield quick to black clouds' wrath. Affliction brims a thorny pack to bear whilst dewy darkness drenches in the night, but where is calming lamp to lend us sight? And who will come to give us saving care? Here through veil is heard a whisper certain, then o'er the mountain creeps the dawning day and with clear eyes we see the brume give way as God retracts His theatre's curtain, unsheathing velvet waves whose morning sheen beyond grey mist splays vast and wondrous green.

Drakensberg Sonnet
*Jesus, please set my bound heart free Let not this world my prison be Where fear and shame would pull me down To suffocate and cause me to drown 'Stead loose my soul that it may soar Heavy, fettered, chained no more So You can lead me to the hills Away from where 'perfection' kills In You alone my worth is found What joy immense, this truth profound To know I'm precious in Your sight My strength, my hope, my life's delight Surrendered now to Your control 'Tis love which heals my wounded soul Convinced that I can trust Your heart Toward me, to You my cares I impart And selfish may I no more be But lend me eyes that I might see The wounds which other souls still have To give to them Your healing salve That You might take their tender pain And turn it to eternal gain So suffering may not wasted be But used to set our cold hearts free Then we who in triumphant praise More closely on Your face may gaze Beholding all Your beauty vast Held tight to You, content at last!*

~ Whom the Son Sets Free ~
There were plenty before you, But don't get me wrong You were my first love. The priors i loved but I was never IN Love Till the day I met you, Your innocent smile & golden heart Never will I forget; How you told me I was only your second kiss, You were 18 how could this be; *You were reserved n pure Before you met me.* A year of on and off & we fell IN Love You knew the ****** deeds I did & one day near the end of summer You invited me over; caught me by suprise When you lead me to your room And removed your shirt The pregnancy scare Is what tore us apart, I wasn't there; Trust was broken, & faith in men destroyed, You never smoked nor drank till after this You must have been trying to escape We stop talking Cause you needed space, I never once thought I should text. You felt unwanted n used By the way I lacked to try I destroyed you, corrupted you, And I'm guilty of that We agreed to stay friends, But that didn't work & we went our separate ways Then last Christmas as if a miracle, You came back into my life. *I never stoped loving you, Never stopped hating myself* I let be known That I'll lend a ear When ever your down. You must think I'm being sweet Just to get another hit, But the truth in the matter is; I know you'll never take me back Not after what I did But I still feel guilty And I wish to mend the wounds After all I'm the one who caused Them all.......

Look at all these wannabe gangsters Terrorising our streets That one's wearing camouflage trousers Just wait till you hear him speak 'Dems bear skills mate' 'Can you lend me fifty bar?' He sounds like he's from Los Angeles Doing time in the yard But he's not He still lives at home with his mum And his pregnant girlfriend And he's under the thumb You see them outside Tesco But they're not shopping for pesto Let's go They've seen the old bill He's known around this town For selling dodgy pills Guns, knives and slang That's what you need If you wanna be in their gang No education Just a stolen Playstation And don't forget the **** Even on a school night They're out doing speed You'll see 'em in the park With a bottle of cider Then they'll start On a poor old-timer Tracky bottoms And a Burberry hat Chav fashion Cause they think they're all that But the funny thing is They don't have a clue They don't think like Me or you They think that they're rap stars Dreaming of fast cars But they're just wankers More like 'wannabe gangsters'

Wannabe Gangsters
Route 84 would not lend me the light of a star last night Radio blazing at 75 mph nonsense noise to chew gum by Crackling political commentary Static of distance and thick clouds Invisible mountains blocking Memories seeping through the cracks coating the music in a film I rub my eyes watch myself punch alert buttons But it’s the angels’ jukebox tonight Roll down the window Watch the heat escape Summer again I am building a castle of ancient stones pulverized by relentless tides Dragged across maps by mastodons and mammoth glaciers The scouring hiss the ocean sighs Time has lulled these smoothly rolling them in the softest hands of sand and gels of life’s comings and goings tenderly tumbling in the millionth moonrise— Time deposits them here wet and glistening For the girl with the plaid two-piece to gather Shoulders sun-burnt barely say one week only, one week of the fifty two “It’s the time of the season…” and daddies on the beach are watching…. She has chosen yet another stone And the castle continues— in oblivion to all but her legend…      The queen will be safe here      from the rabble      The disgraced Tristan will surely seek her      Among these lofty cliffs      Between the raging circuit of the tide      Here winds forbid the vengeful mob      Here lovers learn      the debt of love’s bad timing      “Drink ye all of it!”      --the potion that assigns our sorrow….      She will not sleep—      while I chew this gum--  GUM? Roll down the window! Angels escape with the heat Waking me with the brush of their wings As that eighteen-wheeler hugs my flank And leans on the horn Lights flashing Rude rumbling under right tires Tantrum of snow In the draft of mass and velocity …and the angels? They’ve chosen another good one! They must’ve liked the 80’s Their wings slapping the windshield madly   Their hands steady the wheel

Hands have a power, unlike any other. They can lend a hand, Or hold people down. Spend years to build cities, Or press the button, that destroys them. They can touch and feel, yet they can also strangle. Our eyes give us two dimensions, Hands give us the third. But the real problem is, That hands never hold enough hands. Only because, we are too busy, holding them in fists.

Are you struck with her figure and face? How lucky you happened to meet With none of the gossiping race, Who dwell in this horrible street! They of slanderous hints never tire; I love to approve and commend, And the lady you so much admire, Is my very particular friend! How charming she looks — her dark curls Really float with a natural air; And the beads might be taken for pearls, That arc twined in that beautiful hair: Then what tints her fair features o'erspread - That she uses white paint some pretend; But, believe me, she only wears red She's my very particular friend! Then her voice, how divine it appears While carolling: "Rise gentle moon;" Lord Crotchet lastnight stopped his ears, And declared that she sung out of tune; For my part, I think that her lay Might to Malibran's sweetness pretend; But people won't mind what I say — I'm her very particular friend! Then her writings — her exquisite rhyme To posterity surely must reach; (I wonder she finds so much time With four little sisters to teach!) A critic in Blackwood, indeed. Abused the last poem she penned; The article made my heart bleed — She's my very particular friend! Her brother dispatched with a sword, His friend in a duel, last June; And her cousin eloped from her lord, With a handsome and whiskered dragoon: Her father with duns is beset, Yet continues to dash and to spend — She's too good for so worthless a set — She's my very particular friend! All her chance of a portion is lost, And I fear she'll be single for life; Wise people will count up the cost Of a gay and extravagant wife: But tis odious to marry for pelf, (Though the times are not likely to mend,) She's a fortune besides in herself — She's my very particular friend! That she's somewhat sarcastic and pert, It were useless and vain to deny; She's a little too much of a flirt, And a slattern when no one is by: From her servants she constantly parts, Before they have reached the year's end; But her heart is the kindest of hearts — She's my very particular friend! Oh! never have pencil or pen, A creature more exquisite traced; That her style does not take with the men, Proves a sad want of judgment and taste; And if to the sketch I give now, Some flattering touches I lend; Do for partial affection allow — She's my very particular friend!

Bring me my palette board. Bring me my paintbrush. Look wide open, ask me not if it’s full or a half glass. The sea is babbling high, The clouds swimming on the go. Reach out to the sky! Be quick, before a raindrop spills off the rainbow bowl, stirs the dew on the rosebud at first sight of the spring blooming fast. So what if the sky won't lend a blue patch away, catch that close by, slips through the fingers: a pair of butterflies. Does it matter if you say yes or no? A piece of heaven is on earth!

A Piece of Heaven
You are my superhero even when I was just a child, you always protect me, you always wipe my tears away whenever I cry, and whisper: "It's okay darling, I'm here, no one's gonna hurt you now." You'd fly me to skies if everybody chose to pull me down, you'd lend me peace of mind when I am in troubles you guide me in times I was reading between the lines; you let me see the world and taught me how to walk every distance I should travel, the roads may seem so difficult, I'm not afraid anymore for you gave me the courage. You to me are everything and I admit the fact that I'd be lost without your presence, I'm sorry if I may hurt you through my actions; but one thing for sure is that I love you so much, and don't you worry if you're getting old for to me you're still the most beautiful woman, I have ever known.

My Promise To You My Love
See, you hear this word and shiver While some of us get problems of the liver yup! Exams are what I'm talking about The reason pupils start howling about Oh exams! What do we do with you As it approaches, students be like A reaction no one ever seen like In our dreams like a monster sneaks up Within our soul like Death creaps up Oh exams! What do we do with you That one night before exam burden Reminds me of the war of verdun Only if had books borrowed or lend All night were the eyes to suspend Oh exams! What do we do with you That, to be murdered day arrived Of peaceful sleep were we deprived When the exam hall were we to enter Shot a bullet shrapnel in the center Dead were we when we turned the paper Those questions turned us into vapor Students like us had two or three attempted Handed over those 2 sheets and left all exempted Oh exams! What do we do with you You're welcome, now to hell with you

'Exams'
She plays softly by the moonlight In mournful solitude surrounded by mist With the moon listening to the violin's song. The notes caress the stars at night As the violin sings with her tenderness. The night carries the music along. She comes alone at night to sit by the lake And pour her heart into the violin's strings. The violin's voice haunts the nighttime air. She plays a song of longing that makes her heart break. Her spirit weeps as her violin sings, While into the night rises a song of despair. The moon and the stars lend their ears As the solitary maiden comes to play And the mournful notes take flight. They listen until the sun's greeting nears And the tune finishes with the birth of the day, But will be started anew when her violin sings at night.

All I ever wanted was for someone to listen I wanted someone to pay attention To tell me things would get better And that happiness would last forever I wanted someone to give me advice All about my life to notice I wanted someone to understand To support and lend me a hand I wanted someone who'd never leave me alone To know me from deep inside my bone I wanted someone to love me As far as the end of the galaxy I wanted someone to treat me with respect To make me feel a little perfect I wanted someone to make me feel special And to not make my life seem so small I wanted someone to wipe away all of my tears Helping me get over my fears I wanted someone to be my friend To always bring my misery to an end

Your Eyes
I'm fat because my first boyfriend in seventh grade broke up with me for another girl and called me a fat ugly ***** over and over. I'm fat because my best friend joined in and wouldn't lend me his jacket when I was cold because he'd rather give it to another girl because she was skinnier. I'm fat because I'm too lazy to work out since depression hit. I'm fat because I stress eat and have a bad sweet tooth. I'm fat because my last ex wouldn't disagree when I asked him if I was fat. I'm fat because he wouldn't let me eat. I'm fat because he would see the plate of food and dramatically say, again? I'm fat because I carved it into my stomach. I'm fat because I have horrible mood swings and panic attacks and had to be put on antidepressants and birth control. I'm fat because I don't look in the mirror anymore unless it's above my chest. I'm fat because that's what I think everyone whispers when I'm not looking because I'm an anxious paranoid freak. I'm fat because my parents say I shouldn't eat this or that. I'm fat because I can't fit in my old pair of jeans. I'm fat because I've always been scared to wear a bikini, now I refuse. I'm fat because my mom says tells me she is fat, when she weighs less than me already. I'm fat because no guys will look at me anymore. I'm fat and I don't know what to do anymore.

Communication takes practice, it's never perfect, sometimes not patient, sometimes not kind, but you have to say what's on your mind. Lend an ear, listen not just hear, to the ones you love so dear. Communication is not a one way street, it takes two, to concur this feat. Communication is hard you see, but in the end, it is key, to that great relationship, we all want and need. Open your heart, say what's on your mind, When you are partners for life there's nothing to hide.

By Arcassin B Tell me, tell me that your home safe asleep, in your bed, sometimes you would call me just to come over instead, maybe if it was settled then me and you could hit the movies, doing what teenagers do, poring organic fuse, driving those stylish cars, doing things we can't refuse, i swear to god i love you, if you wasnt so beautiful i'd braid it, knowing you, probably hate it, but i said it once before, we go greatly together, for what we have in store, she puts all of that together, this night was so glorious, think i mite live another one, promise that your social insecurities, wont lend me none, you made my life go astray, like becoming a non-virgin, didnt think that over anyway, at least my cell phone still workin'.

Indebted shadows prey on a prayer They drink up their glories and sins, While contending for souls so rare And endow nails upon my skin: Clever born, Hearty, And silver to the bone. Nevermore, Sadly, Now mutely grey in tone. “Awake! Arise! Win our war in Rome!” They break, They lie, And never came home. Forget Please never, This threat I sever, Regret? Too clever to lie. Faulty sins hoist a ****** banner While goodness is only a trend, And foes are convenient in manner Convenience: a conclusive friend. Too clever to lie What a convenience am I Am I: your conclusive friend; Answer as to why You raise the stakes high When you have no soul to lend?
