“It's not easy being green", Kermit the Frog once said.
Since yellow and blue make this color, is it better to be them instead?

I have been blue once or twice.
It did not feel good, did not feel nice.

Sad and alone is what blue means to me.
Blue is the color I never want to be.

Yellow is another color I have endured.
It made me feel ashamed, confused, and unsure.

Coward and no backbone is what I know,
is my experience with being yellow.

And just like Kermit, I have been green on an occasion.
It's an emotion that’s hard to give an explanation.

Jealous, spiteful, angry, and mean,
is what I felt while being green.

So maybe all these colors I need to ignore.
None of them are easy to be, of this I am sure.

To the tune of Five For Fighting's "100 Years to Live"

From "Frogs For Fighting"
Kermit Sings:

I'm just a simple green Muppet,
Good old friends with Scooter and Fuzzy,
And I'm small and skinny,
A quiet frog that's on the roam.

Animal's clearing out the whole fridge,
There's a Muppet chef inside the kitchen,
Making gibberish sounds,
Boiling a goose or baking rolls.

Piggy I'm alright with you,
No other Muppet pig will do,
MRS. PIGGY-there's never a wish better than this,
When you've got a hundred Muppet Tears TO GIVE...

I'm searching stars at the moment,
Still the frog-I'm just in love with a pig,
Dream of a connection,
A constellation for a sign,

Count goes "AH AH AH" when counting,
Cookie Monster's nomming on the cookies,
Snuffleupagus sounds like he just might have a cold...

But Piggy I'm alright with you,
You've got much might-no one can kick **** quite like you...

But piggy I'm OK with you,
MRS. PIGGY-there's never a wish better than this,
When you've got a hundred Muppet Tears TO GIVE...

Through a small Muppet's eyes
Can tell you no lies,
Bunson's Lab-a surprise,
Madness, havoc explode,
Beaker's running to hide,
We're moving on...

I'm feeling light at the moment,
Small as can be-the sky-all I view,
And I'm just reeling,
High up in the clouds-a message in blue,
...Mrs. Piggy I'm alright with you,
You're black belt in Karate and Kung Fu,
Super Grover's on his way,
Every Muppet has their dog day...

Wooohooo-oohoohoo
Wooohooo-oohoohoo
Wooohooo-oohoohoo-oohoohoo

Piggy I'm alright with you,
There's no other Muppet pig like you,
MRS. PIGGY, there's never a wish-better than this...

When you've got a hundred Muppet Tears TO GIVE...
Sang to the tune of 100 Years to Live by Five For Fighting.

Frog's For Fighting, 100 Muppet Tears To Give.

Music
Look up: "Superman" by Five For Fighting.

Kermit sings music by a Muppet Band called Frog's For Fighting...! "It's Not Easy To Be Green, I Can't Stand When High"

I can't stand when high,
I'm not that naive...
I'm just out to find the better part of green,
I'm more than a bird, I'm more than a bear,
I'm more than some-frog in piggy's underwear,

And it's not easy-to be-e-green...

Wish that I was high, ****** and half asleep,
Find a way to lie-about my *** on Sesame Street,
It may sound absurd, but don't be naive,
Even Muppets have the right to ****,
I may be disturbed, but won't you concede,
Even Muppets croak upon Skunk-green,

And it's not easy-to be-e-green...

Once again-I'm small-I'm small and GREEN, well it's
Alright! We can all get "stoked" tonight, and I'm not
Blazing...or anything.

I can't stand when high...I'm not that naive,
****** I trip at night, on brownies buzzed on ****!

I'm only a frog on Jim Hensen's knee,
Wearing pink lingerie on this one way street,
I'm only a frog on Jim Hensen's knee-looking for
Older guys who flirt with me
WHO FLIRT WITH ME...
who flirt with me...yea, who
Flirt with me...who FLIRT WITH ME...

I'm only a frog that's diggin' the green,
I'm only a  frog on kronic seven leaves,
I'm only a frog that's puffin' on green, and it's not easy...

WOOOHOOOHOOOO...it's not easy to be-e

Greeeeeeeeeeeennnnnnn...
This is a spoof on Kermit getting high on *** and then cross dressing, don't forget comedy, so if you are in the mood to laugh, good fun!

Paws and reflect
we're all good little kids
in bleachers, listening patiently,
allowing nonsense to continue
then the trees fell
things got out of hand
kids became adults with super strength
lifted the floors up
threw chainsaws into crowds
yessir
they grew up that day
that hour
and nobody pitied the inhanced
only wished they could join
could be as jaded as the them
climb mountains and spit acid
melt rocks with a look
but no
such characteristics were reserved for the up-and-coming
gods and titans
full of potential energy
bursting at the seams of the skin
splitting open into laughter and mockery
they will save the world
or at least give it a hell of a run for its money.

Just felt and green
A vision in the eyes
of the brightest soul
Contains the heart of a child

Just felt and green
A life breathed inside
A creation mirrors the soul
its master full of pride

Just felt and green
One and the same
Maker and puppet
Jim and Kermit by name

Just felt and green
A talented writer
A life dearly missed
Made the world brighter
Work in progress still i feel....

MA KING AME-RICA GRATE AGIN
( for Brian )

"Your mum's an alien..an...
ha ha ha ha alien!"

the children chant
and taunt.

I see through tears
their sneers and hated

etched upon
their features

like a mask they
could/couldn't take off.

It is like a thousand years ago
all over again.

The Age of the thing
called Trump

when humans were both
orange and stupid.

Now we have computers
built into each whorl

facts at our fingertips
with just a finger snap

we can call up what used to be
called videos

of the Trump thing
teaching humans how to hate.

I, unlike my sisters
am not green

except for
a slight greenish

hue every now
and then.

I am more the chameleon
and can blend in.

I have the necessary arms
and the obligatory number of eyes.

Only my mum and sisters
look like a lurid 1950's comic

"THEY CAME FROM OUTER SPACE!"
yet earth would not be

here if aliens( us )had  not come
to save them from themselves

back when earth had entered
the Age of Dictators

as the history apps.
quaintly put it

Now is come again
the hateful hate

ma king Ame-rica
grate again

like a mind
grinding its teeth.

I'm sorry am
the English no good

and the spelling as well
we will

have to hide behind
our mind walls

that we had to build
to keep humans out.

My mother taking me
lovingly in her tentacles

stroking me and drying my eyes
and making tea

With a snap of my fingers
I bring up my favourite video

and a Kermit hologram
floats before my face

"It's not that  easy bein' green!"
and I singalong like any human being

"...when green is all there is to be."

Supposedly too much television will rot your brain away
BUT... you can 't believe what everyone may say

KERMIT told us it ain't easy being green
TAYLOR SWIFT taught us people can be trouble & really mean
SEBASTIAN the CRAB told us it is better down where it is wetter
CINDERELLA taught us that eventually things will get better
SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS told us over & over he's READY! he's READY!
THE TORTOISE taught us that being quick may not always work
KAYNE WEST taught us people are rude, interrupting, annoying & huge jerks
MR KRABS taught us some people are money hungry & greedy
LINDSAY LOHAN taught us some people are attention needy
DORA THE EXPLORER taught us to live our life as an adventure & go explore
SWIPER taught us to always go for more
SQUIDWARD taught us not everyone has happiness to share
PATRICK STAR taught us that some people's heads are filled with air
PLANKTON taught us that you can never give up on reaching your goal
ALICE's curiosity taught us don't chase white rabbits with pocket watches down their hole
PETER PAN taught us to live carefree & have no worries at all
HORTON taught us that a person is a person no matter how small
THE LORAX taught us to take care of our trees
SNOW WHITE taught us that there maybe more than what the eye sees
TOMMY PICKLES taught us sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do
THE GRINCH taught us that deep down inside, the cruel have hearts too
NEMO'S DAD MARLIN taught us you can't protect people from all & or any danger
BARNEY taught us not to talk to a stranger
TIMONE & PUMBA taught us "HAKUNA MATATA"
LILO & STITCH taught us no one gets left behind or forgotten, that is "OHANA"
SOUTH PARK taught us not to give a **** & some friends can be a huge ****** BAG
JUSTIN BIEBER taught us what isn't "SWAG"
STEWIE taught us that even if you're talking not everyone is listening
NELLY taught us that not everywhere has air conditioning "HOT IN HERRE"
DOROTHY taught us is you want to go home just click your heels three times & repeat "THERE IS NO PLACE LIKE HOME"
SOUTH PARK'S TWEAK taught us that your underwear get stolen by the underwear gnomes

So much we've unknowingly managed to obtain
secretly stored in our brain
celebrities, songs, shows & even cartoons have taught us a lot
& that's what life lessons are all about
little hidden lessons & messages everywhere
& completely unaware you pass it on & share

Last night I dreamt of evil Muppets
Andrew M Bell Feb 2015
I see you at my door,
huddled against the night
in your Kermit-green jacket
and purple pants
like a refugee from a rainbow.
Patiently waiting
for my enfolding arms,
to spirit you upstairs
for flannelette passion
which makes us feel safer
than the safest ***.

Walk me into the sunlight
Let me lie down there
Perhaps upon a hillside
Where shadows do not care

Here on this grassy shoulder
Of a giant long at rest
Who fought against the titans
It was said he did his best

From here I’ll say goodbye
To Apollo, Ra, or Sol
I do not know a true god
So I better thank them all

A thousand bowls past
A million sips of whiskey
Mary Jane and Beam
I think those two will miss me

Let me look into your eyes
Ah they make me smile
Would you care to sit with me
For just a little while

I promise not to keep you
You want to see this land
I would have liked to join you
But it isn’t what was planned

I’ll catch a shooting star
Holding tightly on its tail
And we can say goodbye
As if I’m off to sail

An island.
Sometimes.
That's me.
An island.
Surrounded by the bitter thoughts and openly hostile fears of those that don't
Understand.

So when I tell you,
"This is me."
I'm not asking for:
Permission
Judgment
Scorn
Doubt
or
Rage
I'm asking for:
Patience
Concern
Love
Friendship
And a familiar ear to voice my own fear.

Kermit the Frog once said,
"It's not easy being green."
Well Kermit, I finally think I know what you mean.

Uncommon is not as welcome as it would seem.

365Nectar #8    Crescent City Blues
Tues. Oct 1,2013 10:21 P.M.

In the deepest attic
the thumping blues
paint pastel portraits
of the Crescent City

In burning ripples
words slap strangers
taking refuge in Armstrong Park

Slender, ****, and Shorty
growl muted tones that ravage old bones
whip thru Mid-City
and saunter thru the Garden District
all just practice to sizzle in a wild tap dance in the Quarter

High steppin Indians
march toward God
and defy gravity.

Roaring second line
being led by woman powered Pinettes Brass Band
hold rush hour traffic hostage for days
belting greasy mingling tunes
in the eye of the dusty moon

A pitch black struggle
with the old moon
liberated old souls
entangled in soaked strings
and sobbing fingers

A quintet churns and
challenges the loneliness of pain

Strumming fingers
make out with
humming strings
under a starry blue grey sky

Stomping down long black Oak-lined roads
blowing thru shotgun homes
like winter cold howling
lifting heavy weights
from shoulders
like the sun shifting against bad weather
the blues lady
open the veins
of drunken roses

Lungs full of tears
Irma holla's, cries, and moans remedies
north south east and west of a street called Desire
Oh Etta
At Last

Dim Misty light
cast a heavy shadow
on wiggling spirits
as they cast off pain
Allen Toussaint
in smokeless blaze
tips the night air

Kermit blows
Dusty blues
seducing suffering souls
bounding them to each other in bliss

Whispering around town
in a perfect velvet midnight
sweet exhalations of song birds from corner joints
dance the Ruffin groove

fiery trebles wave at people passing by

Down right ***** blues
muzzles twilight
trombones,tubas, and trumpets
lay harmony
under the harmonious thunder
of the Marsalis Masters
and low down deep
in a musty sleepless corner
is the missing Bass-man..

hung over.

I jumped from couch to couch, avoiding the floor that was lava.
The balloon soared and floated in the air, and it could not touch the ground.
Circus animal cookies and chocolate milk were there everyday.
When I was small, the world was big and magical.

My role models were Barney and Babar, Kermit and Elmo.
I wore pink leotards and frilly tutus and stretchy slippers and shiny, black tap shoes.
I’d look up at the sky to see that fluffy white clouds were bunnies, hippos and butterflies.
When I was small, nothing was impossible.

Parks were kingdoms and the jungle-gym was the castle.
My glittery costume gown and my plastic tiara meant I was a real princess,
Peter Pan would come take me away, to live in Neverland.
When I was small, I was immortal.

Factory Frog

A frog of the Greatest Generation,
Rosie fastened skins to the planes -
all the while ceaslessly chattering.
All of the other factory frogs
covered their ears or plugged them
since none could abide the endless pattering
of Rosie the Ribbiter.

Basketball Frog

Few frogs try their hands(?) at basketball
but Kermit (Z. Phrogg not D.Frog)
gave it the old college try.
He wanted to play like his hero Alcindor
before or after his name change.
But never managed to loft the ball
o'er the edge of the basket's rim
so he finally gave it up and sang,
'It's not easy being Kareem.'

The Cane Toads in Australia are one of the clearest examples of the consequences of messing with Mother Nature.  They were imported from the American south to eat bugs that trashed the sugar cane crops just like they did in the old U S of A.  Once they got to Australia they lost all their appetite for eating sugar bugs and excelled only at breeding which they do on an Olympic level.
He is a memory i cherish
and i fear there won´t be another
how will I meet someone
who will look at me
like he did
intense, piercing through my soul
letting me know it all
how he cherished me
how he saw beauty in flaws
how he smiled when i did
how he sighed when i moved
how he wished to touch me
how he kissed when i looked away
how he followed my moving eyes
how he listened while i talked
how he loved in all i had
how how how
for him i was a fairy
for me he was my kermit
how how how
how could it be
how could he let it slip
how could he let me go
how could he ...

An unwanted child.
Dead in a rush of shameless rage.
A never wanted child, live global exit. Boom.

A child with no hope of winning life's lottery.

Not one of the slain is now such, each is a ticket
to horrible fame and blame and shame,
and maybe more money that the slain child could have
ever earned, I know,
small towns in Texas breed unwanted babies
each Prom Night.
Unwanted babies grow
to become unwanted children,
reared by grandma who had not wanted ma,
that prior Prom Night, previous to a wasted life.
- No facts, pure manure conjecture, due to pregnant anger,

poor and weak, the master religious class enforces
rights to horrible, unlivable lives …
- bear that child or face the wrath of Texas, a breeding
that looses the lesser angels crying worthy worthy worthy,
see, makes 'em mean, ready to ****
- but you gotta enlist 'em young... get the feel of that gun...
but some fall through the cracks... good for nothing,
wash outs -- Watch OUT- some mad losers feel cheated,
thinking not fair,
I never had a chance,
but in the end, you all know I was here.

Once, see me horribly big, as a monstor of the rule,
life must be lived,
breathe and become
useful, but first survive full myelination, and
- 25 years
that takes adult super-vision, for a kid,
some how, some seem to
learn to love, without the experience, maybe
see it done on Sesame Street,
you'll get it, unless

nobody ever led you to associate yourself and Kermit/
- not easy being any thing ungood for something.
- dyslexia can ****, any shame on a child can,
if it is culturally nourished on rights to hate,

Shame on you, America, for not caring,
with deep parental love,
for accidents of ignorant lust alluded to as common,

I said I wouldn't write about you
                                                            but who am I
to strip myself of what makes me live
in art I've surfaced my own sins

                                                                                 and some of yours.
                                                                                                   I suppose

I've taken space you've asked of me
                                                     needing to blockmyface
                                                                         whenyouonceplaced
           my name into your skin

in a quiet champagne trip and
                                                    Gold
indented ribs

                                          Take a sip.

If it's "poison" that touches your lips

                                  THEN you could've skipped
                                                                       dipped
flipped   me onto the piles of rubbled                   glass
torn from your walls
placed carelessly cornered or left simply to fall
                                                                                                   switched in
flip

some contorted reverse
though my heart refuses to pin you as
                                      Perverse
     when these colors emerged

Two Years of swells i Chose to forget
each time that i stayed when I knew

i should've left.
When Everybody told me                      Better was Mine
I wouldn't give in to believe that your heart was
                     Unkind.

From the moment I knew I'd clutched your stairway-ed arms
to
                 Ease My Ailing,
sweaty palms in driver-ed cars
Kermit Ruffins and philly beer bars
roller coasters, Christmas lights
                           endless pen-streamed journaled binds
An unopened book
                         pages still blank
more than a stitch to ease the pain of your name

   though i mustn't Complain
                                                                     ...and I still can't Rejoice

But I'll watch the sunrise through Uncommon windows
trace folds of your fingers -- sweet struggled wake on your pillow
and dance foreign waltz in clipped black-wig nights
plated sweet nourriture to watch your delight

Watch you dance decorated as I set in Pride
hold me to standards --yet bend when I'm Right

Speak to me softly in quiet teared nights
tell me I'm beautiful when femininity cannot find
                                                                                                             me
Drape me in curtains of love and Security
Fit so Securely in the curves of my body

Smile in shyness--like absence of tongue
as your cheeks lift to hide your eyes
                                                                                              in thin rungs

Gold plates of your stomach and skin over hips
saying my name through pleasurepursed lips
Pounding the pavement in carouseled times

not only Read, but Returned all my rhymes

The fortress is daunting
                     I'm brooding and swift
Sometimes the brick slips but the flips never Switch

So if russe folk dances and stealing lost tea
causes your coldness, just slightly, to bleed
                                       Remember what I did
                                                                                  --to, your troubles, ease
Don't say for this new year I didn't
Prioritize your Needs
MARRY THEM, by all of all means
i never pushed you to choose, instead, me

I've learned my doors close,
       i woke to realize
when those i thought open I faced and
                                                                  denied

because nothing matches the pulses and start
--the warmth in my chest when your palms
                                                                                                 press my heart

that's why with your Run i cannot understand
           feelings and highs
                                                                       unsustainable lands
I never demand     -       I never imply

                        but im also neverwrong
   and i can't shake

                                                                                                 You and I.

My fantasy.
I would love that one guy, who holds me tight in the middle of the nights,
And kiss my forehead when I'm down.
I want him to hug me from behind, he penguin walks with me.
He comes to my locker and walks me to my classes,
He'll rather sit with me in the blazing cold, waiting for the bus.
He takes my hat, tries to act all cool.
I want him to snuggle with me and a watch two hour movie.
We fall asleep in each other's arms.
I want to lock hands with him, lay my head on his chest,
Feeling his heartbeat.
His eyes staring into mine.
I want to have a tickle war with him,
He wouldn't have to open the door for me and carry my bags all the time,
I can do it too.
I want to play with his hair, run my fingers through them as I play with his little ears.
He can lay on my stomach while I pet his head slowly.
I wouldn't care if he had tattoos all over,
His face is pierced and his hair is dyed.
I want to text each other sunrise to sunset, say the randomness **** ever.
We can give each other piggy-back rides.
I want us to feed each other while making a mess,
Have water fights and food fights.
We'd video chat everyday.
We'll tell each other secrets, call each other Kermit and Ms. Piggy.
I want to wear his sneakers and walk everywhere with him.
He can come to me if he needs to cry on a shoulder.
We can be ourselves with each other,
We wouldn't have to worry about Valentine's Day or marriage.
I want to beat him in video games,
Go to concerts and scream till our throats are parched.
I would buy him bracelets of his favorite bands,
We can eat ramen noodles instead of fancy restaurants.

My fantasy is being bestfriends with my love. <3

George Harrison
Quiet Beatle by comparison
Kermit the Frog was one of his peeps
Still his guitar gently weeps
6/11/2019 - Poetry form: Clerihew - When George Harrison was on Saturday Night Live on November 20, 1976, Jim Henson also had a spot on the show and his Muppets appeared on a regular basis during that season. The opportunity arose for George and Kermit to meet. - Copyright © Mark Toney | Year Posted 2019

A crescent full of impurity.
A mind Full of thoughts and plasters made of monogamous beliefs.
You never once told me about the Martian moon
Look how it hangs like an eyebrow
Contrasting our duo souls into these drinking lips.
It felt serene, and necessary.
Incomparable with any waterfall
I have ever drank from before.
Oh but what a nightmare it is to fall in love and bathe in the supremacy of our lord and savior Kermit the frog.
Tonight I belong to all the wisp wishes left On your Oceanside cheeks. As I number this state of confusion, my homage goes to the dandelion blower.
May you forget me.
And may we both find strength and peace in this destruction.

A lot of things & people, have inspired this write, especially, seeing a guy stop an event in Covent Garden, London, for exhibiting the qualities expressed in this poem, and, the fact that the host of said event, had given him huge respect before he performed ..... and then, as said, put a stop to the event, after throwing a violent tantrum, before he left !

Saved by words

You'll find me reading ****** novels,
you see me read romance.
I might be reading Kermit the frog or best views in the south of France.

I'll read to forget, I'll read to sail away
To learn of heroes like Jonny Cash
and how life was in his day.

I'll read so that my mind expands and so my heart can grow
I'll read and I'll immerse myself, from head right down to toe.

I'll read to stop me drinking,
I'll read to stop my tears.
I'll read so much and for so long that I'll forget my fears.

Reading is what saved my life
and writing helps my soul
I'll never stop to read and write
It's all that keeps me whole.

I could pick it out
In a crowd of a thousand
Where the other thousand are Kermit the Frog
I mean you kind of ribbit.
