Are they fools To be exploited? Is life only for your gain? Can you be trusted? Can they count on you? Or do you count on them For your achievement? For your glory? For your power? For your face to be carved in stone Above men And God? Is that you? Is that what you want?

In umbra of a women's mind
Waiting my turn to pay For the items we need today; The beans and the chili And some picklelilli And costly imported pate. A headline that says glaringly What some starlet does daringly. What I see before my eyes A big edition full of lies They put here to tempt me daringly. Where childbirth oddities Are viewed as commodities To put onto the front page Soon, to become all the rage. And two headed goats Get the kind of public note That should be reserved For something more deserved. We all know these stories Are anecdotal glories Made up by the magazines; The tawdriest ever seen And they don’t mind getting gory. It’s yellow journalism A sort of print format **** Intended for the kind of fool Who never finished school And falls for jingoism. Where childbirth oddities Are views as commodities To put onto the front page Soon, to become all the rage. And two headed goats Get the kind of public note That should be reserved For something more deserved. Brent Kincaid 4/18/2015

The ironical facade of jingoism (10W)
Jingoism at its very best is still zealotry, and anyone with good sense can tell you none of that is good. Where has good gone? Narrowness is boasting ethnocentricity. The mind game of villainous blame furthers unkind possibility. Worse yet, demise of soul, to tout a right to defend, assaults a riffling on pith and marrow with no sane sense of psyche to lend. Basically then, we are told to "blend." I cannot. I am fanatical. My colors must be seen. This weathering of dark storm has unbiased relinquishment that must convene, upon a rainbow. With all heart and soul, given to Orlando.

Fanatical
It's that time of the year again Our politicians put on a new persona Nothing new compared to the previous gimmick Decade old cliched stuff, on the repeat. A costly road ahead with a hefty expense Back-channels, bargains and deals , none can comprehend Funding is secured, the plans are now been drawn Delegation to the foot-soldiers, with ease and control The demography and previous trends have all been accounted War-rooms being set up, as the arsenal needs to be surmounted. Minute by minute, hour by hour The ***** games and abuse of power Horse trading has begun, The influential will re-run Money, honey or even the hard ways Just break the loyalty and build pathways Media Cells activated on the double Spitting venom and creating trouble Plethora of photoshops and planted stories Peddling narratives, worst than conspiracy theories. Meanwhile on the ground, a different game being played The pawns as usual disillusioned and dismayed Onslaught begins - First phase division Divide by nationality, status or religion Hate-mongering and fear-mongering No holds barred Political-correctness and propaganda not that far apart All kind of theatrics have been put to use Needless to discount the petty rhetoric and all the abuse Both left and right wing ideologies hand-crafted to look cool To trap the gullible and make them drool And nationalistic pride sprayed like chem-trails Beyond jingoism, everything else fails Morality and conscience have vanished into thin air Utopian lands being promised, as if almost here. The voter's are intelligent, they keep reiterating It's just a bait though, to lure them for voting But then again, what is the voter supposed to do? Greater evil or lesser evil are the choices to make Can it get any worst, is his obvious take Confusion, delusion and a hasty decision made Now crib, cry, swear and the same blame game Cometh the next election, its the same game play The vicious cycle repeats Politicians are back to deceive and cheat. Alright! Been there, done that To err is human they say Well! Guess what? I'll willfully repeat that!

When the centuries begin to cycle back and jingoism rings through the streets, when the civilized veneer falls and false saints rise to power, do not despair, dear human, do not think you are alone, remember, know in your heart that art will save us. In a world full of sheep as we fight back to back, against impossible odds, against numberless hordes, do not despair, because, through the blackest of filth sunshine will still reach us, art will save us. When we have no more strength left, when of reason we are all but bereft, a strand of music will float over to us: a poem, a prayer, a battle-song, a peaceful landscape will come to mind, a childhood home, a summer house, a lazy road outside the public library, it will all come to us like a memory, and art will save us If, however, we are parted by fate or foe and you are caught alone in the swarm of flies, where every mouth that speaks to you is nothing but a bowl of lies, when they tell you that liberty is now ended, and freedom is forever lost, do not believe them, my friend, do not despair, remember: art will save us. When the old war begins anew, and us men of peace, go to war, as we bleed through noble wounds, as religion’s sword comes down upon us, and even as we are forced down upon our knees, do not despair, beloved sentient beings, because always, art will save us. Remember, you are not alone. Though they may be few, and far between, there are humans in the world yet, there are free lands yet, men, and women, who will die before liberty does, poets, and painters, who will never let the rot fester, and neither you, nor us, are undefended, because always, without fail, I swear to you upon my soul, it will come to our aid, it will rescue us and those who come after us, art will save us.
