"irregular" poems
Now this particular girl During a ceremonious april walk With her latest suitor Found herself, of a sudden, intolerably struck By the birds' irregular babel And the leaves' litter. By this tumult afflicted, she Observed her lover's gestures unbalance the air, His gait stray uneven Through a rank wilderness of fern and flower; She judged petals in disarray, The whole season, sloven. How she longed for winter then! -- Scrupulously austere in its order Of white and black Ice and rock; each sentiment within border, And heart's frosty discipline Exact as a snowflake. But here -- a burgeoning Unruly enough to pitch her five queenly wits Into ****** motley -- A treason not to be borne; let idiots Reel giddy in bedlam spring: She withdrew neatly. And round her house she set Such a barricade of barb and check Against mutinous weather As no mere insurgent man could hope to break With curse, fist, threat Or love, either.

You say doctors will make the best poets. They will search your emotions by the skin; cutting open to reveal and revel with surgical precison. They will play with heavy drugs and blades-- nothing shall hide beneath the armors of bone and muscle. They know the anatomy of the heart too well. They will find the things you have hidden in your chest. I say doctors will never be poets. They are too mechanical, too fast with their edges and ridges. They cannot see the pain as pain but merely as an anomaly. That sadness is black bile not melancholia. They cannot sing to you but only clammer in medical jargon. Poets will use their imperfect words, and perfect rhymes to find the secrets of your rib cage with ease. They will find every flaw of your broken body and make it the best story you've never heard. Doctors, they will put love to define as a momentary rush of adrenaline, an arrythmia for another human caused due to an imbalance of the heart rhythm. Poets will tell you that love is the first jolt of life for them. They will say love is a state of euphoria that takes those irregular rhythms to perfect symphonies. Doctors say that veins carry blood devout of oxygen. I say that they carry your broken emotions to their feelings factory to mend it within its beautiful catacombs. All those doctors will find and fix you with perfect solutions. And these poets will do their best to be your perfect solution.

Doctors
A warm wind touched my face. I walked out into the open space, I saw a blurry, fading horizon. Somewhere, you are, I am here, after a sleepless night, Writing another reflection, Tired like an empty battery. I do not like the masks that shout. The fight over who is right. I do not want an analysis. I touch the bark of the tree, I hug the birch with my arms. I see its white pages, Written with irregular lines, Torn, fluttering in the wind, Which I cannot read. Her eyes look straight into me, They understand – How well they understand me. The rustle of leaves lessens the tension. Autumn will come soon, The summer wind whispers to me: This country, this language, These people, these doubts. This is not blind luck, This is your blessing, Purple, rainy months, a fleshy heart, Falling hair, joy when relief comes, Crying into a pillow – So as not to disturb another’s dreaming About the so-called reality. Bare feet touch the ground. I tread carefully on the edge of worlds, To be both here and there With my integrity. I am everything and nothing. I am gestures, epilepsy, The belief that I see human thoughts, Inconsistent with what they say. Blue, sun, and somewhere you. How good that you stayed. When everyone was saying: She is different, She talks to ghosts. You stayed, showing me Your true face.

An affable Irregular, A heavily-built Falstaffian man, Comes cracking jokes of civil war As though to die by gunshot were The finest play under the sun. A brown Lieutenant and his men, Half dressed in national uniform, Stand at my door, and I complain Of the foul weather, hail and rain, A pear-tree broken by the storm. I count those feathered ***** of soot The moor-hen guides upon the stream. To silence the envy in my thought; And turn towards my chamber, caught In the cold snows of a dream.

The Road at My Door
People only ever want to ask me about the poetry - those verses about busted up noses in outer space; about the pros working way down passed the corner of Broad and Main; about fistfights and hard, hard drinking. But I built a flowerbed this weekend... Twenty two tastefully irregular stone blocks in a crescent moon shape, filled with the blackest of soils. The sweat of toil. The digging. The planting. Exotic grasses. Asian maybe? Purple and yellow flowers. Zinnias or some **** thing. All covered in a thick blanket of brown mulch. It's a fine thing to have dirt on your hands instead of blood. No one ever asks me about flowerbeds.

My Baby Likes The Smell Of Two-Cycle Engine Oil
When people tell me That I'm strong I'm beautiful I'm amazing... I don't feel anything. Tell me these things When I cry about the pain That has lasted me years, When I'm up at night Even when I'm lacking sleep, And When I'm expected to smile My whole life when I don't feel your warmth. This ice palace I reside in, Is it my lifeline? Because if it is Wouldn't it be better if It melted? All these moments Have become entangled And the momentary lapses Irregular, My world all Grey And I just can't do this. But my calls are stuck In my throat. I'm frozen. I'm not resilient. It's taking me so long So long To stand up. And my heart is giving up It's beat Fading.

anxiety is a flood it comes in slowly but suddenly drowning  me it is a constant tapping pencil beating in an irregular beat frantically accelerating in speed it is a small room filled with boisterous people gradually engulfing me anxiety is a breath of fresh air refreshing  as I take a breath in satisfaction as I exhale

Anxiety Metaphor Poem
I am a Province, a State, a Municipality, and a Region. I am a Soldier, a Pilot, a Minister, and a Legion; I am a black man, a white man, a brown man, a woman, A French man, American, Canadian, and Roman. I am a rap artist, a singer, a slam poet and guitarist; I dabble in the dark arts accompanied by a Marxist. I'm a barista, a gas man, a secretary, and Tsarina, A King and a Queen and a janitorial cleaner. I am a "lover," a "hater," a "here now" and "there later," I am Luke Skywalker, yet at the same time, Lord Vader. I am a driver, a walker, a rider, a stalker, A conservative liberal and a well-learned straight-talker. I am a salesman and clerk, A criminal and a serf, The proud owner of a weapon that, while it kills, saves the Earth. I am a drinker and smoker, A consumer and broker, A bomb-maker, con-artist, Priest, and interloper. I am a Citizen. Religious and secular, Macrocosmic, molecular, Suit wearing, uncaring, emphatic, irregular, A "packie," a **** a Scrabble fan playing Yahtzee; A Jihadist, sadistic, addicted to Herodotus, History is repeated by the philosopher that thought of us. The eroticist literature towards which we've all lusted; It looks like the bullets machine-gun is busted. Indifferent, ecstatic, illicett, erratic, An infant, a senior, a young man with bad-lip, A black man, a white man, a brown man, a woman, A Jew and a Christian, a Muslim musician, A monarch, elitist, pro-abortion defeatist, An anarchist, Black Panther, and a rich plutocratic; I am a citizen, And as one, I'm elastic.

there was the quickened pace my feet and my heart i knew not the difference both were intertwined as one lips slightly apart, irregular breathing as time shortened our distance eyes sparkling with anticipation my thoughts only on one and at that colliding of a second if there were lights it was all on us though hands shaking, grips firm at that moment, both connected as one no denying this attraction burst out of nowhere as if silently waiting all along a million other people, but to me he's the one

Attraction
Eating mushrooms, to her is yet another art she loves to perfect, in my ear she whispers with such visible pleasure,"I want to be a connoisseur in this" Her studio smelled herbs and wild flowers of inner forest, brought me back to the cardamom and cinnamon garden I played in my days of boyhood; spices build a  bridge for us. More of a herbalist than a paint smelling artist, she seems, mounted on the wall on irregular fashion were the mushrooms she painted with a passion rare, and a precision mirroring life; the paintings  brought her past in to the studio, only trained eyes would discern the cryptic symbolism, a consummate artist she certainly is!  The woman who smoked cigars in succession and untiringly danced, she said was her favorite, along the lake front we took a long walk comparing notes;  there were parallels that met, we found soon enough. "You too knew her so well, I am aware", she said. A room filled with smoke where we dance, make love, grow tired, fall down and sleep, wasn't it our life? No one can miss the signature smell of her dense cigar smoke on my dress!" I loved the smell of cloves she exhaled while eating mushrooms. though detachment she pretended, eating mushrooms never was that! I kept looking down at her eyes, a sailor about to sight the land, any panting moment that rushes with a monsoon song for me and her.

a gift for Aladdin Aures H from his 3rd follower... <>><<> the inescapable need, unformed firmament inquiring; am I capable? the impulse palpable, the urge to urgent, to gorge and disgorge? instead of morning prayers, precomposed and ordered, morning poem plucked from morning fog, gusted breezes, early-on, newborn sun rays, progeny of disheveled skies words fused, in irregular sizes, senses censured by drowsy eyes, but the chest beating arrhythmia means bursts of free verses superimposed on reluctant eyelids, jigsaw puzzlement be re-conformed and the first poem of the day, emerges from the intersection of mind, pale dreams, and the first is special till the neu morrow, when fresh bursts explode inward to windward, and the first is just yesterday's mesh of hash, once formidable, now last, pinned, yellowing, purely a **descendant of the recent, but always, ancient past*^

The Poem Writes Me
I have a Gumbie Cat in mind, her name is Jennyanydots; Her coat is of the tabby kind, with tiger stripes and leopard spots. All day she sits upon the stair or on the steps or on the mat; She sits and sits and sits and sits—and that’s what makes a Gumbie Cat! But when the day’s hustle and bustle is done, Then the Gumbie Cat’s work is but hardly begun. And when all the family’s in bed and asleep, She tucks up her skirts to the basement to creep. She is deeply concerned with the ways of the mice— Their behaviour’s not good and their manners not nice; So when she has got them lined up on the matting, She teachs them music, crocheting and tatting. I have a Gumbie Cat in mind, her name is Jennyanydots; Her equal would be hard to find, she likes the warm and sunny spots. All day she sits beside the hearth or on the bed or on my hat: She sits and sits and sits and sits—and that’s what makes a Gumbie Cat! But when the day’s hustle and bustle is done, Then the Gumbie Cat’s work is but hardly begun. As she finds that the mice will not ever keep quiet, She is sure it is due to irregular diet; And believing that nothing is done without trying, She sets right to work with her baking and frying. She makes them a mouse—cake of bread and dried peas, And a beautiful fry of lean bacon and cheese. I have a Gumbie Cat in mind, her name is Jennyanydots; The curtain-cord she likes to wind, and tie it into sailor-knots. She sits upon the window-sill, or anything that’s smooth and flat: She sits and sits and sits and sits—and that’s what makes a Gumbie Cat! But when the day’s hustle and bustle is done, Then the Gumbie Cat’s work is but hardly begun. She thinks that the cockroaches just need employment To prevent them from idle and wanton destroyment. So she’s formed, from that lot of disorderly louts, A troop of well-disciplined helpful boy-scouts, With a purpose in life and a good deed to do— And she’s even created a Beetles’ Tattoo. So for Old Gumbie Cats let us now give three cheers— On whom well-ordered households depend, it appears.

Welcome Back To This, Your Isle The rabbits beneath the deck, Even the pesky deer who eat the shrubbery, Sea creatures, living and spirits of the dead, Lying on the paths and in the creeks of Silver Beach, All inquire: Was it better wherever you went? Were the: Bears, hiding in the forests outside Berlin, Eagles, double headed, of Russia Herring, fried, creamed, wined, From the vendors on the docks of Helsinki, Riga, Visby and Tallinn, Salmon, smoked and cured in Stockholm, More impressive, Tastier than our striped bass, Island cohorts of yours, who waited patiently For their chronicler to return? Did the Little Mermaid and her Dolphin Guardians of the Port of Copenhagen Welcome you more warmly than your friends, The ospreys, lizards, turtles and owls Who overwatch your steps and safety When hiking in Mashomack Preserve? Guessing they have not made it yet to the Tuck Shop for some Moose Tracks! Were you unaware that our isle settled before Peter the Great ever envisioned creating the grand Boulevards of his capitol, St. Petersburg, Route 114 was a traveled forest path, By settlers and Indians, not serfs. Of the Treasures, the Gold Room of the Hermitage, The Amber Room of Catherine's Palace, Wrote not a single word, we observe. Your attentions, they did not deserve? The answers all, self evident. Here, surrounded by the gentle breezes of Long Island Sound and Gardiners Bay, Sweet and salty flavors of the Peconic atmosphere, Words unlocked, from your eyes to the page fall, Smudged by joyous tears, for the muses of the island Have embraced you yet again and rebirthed Inspiration, within their comforting, sheltering grasp. I would remember half dunk, half remorseful that you would hold my hand a certain way it would stain my heart that knack you had for holding me so far from you and then i would have died just for that touch like a man seeking glory I would regret in those twilight hours the times i told you how beautiful you looked with your ugly heart and faceless brow and forced smile and the knack you had for me to willingly unwind myself for you to ravel back to-get-her I would like to think my lips made an indelible print on your forehead and tore through your broken mind thoughts borne and torn through deadly actions you learnt from other soldiers demented from the ache of the heart I would pray to sleep alone without the imprint of you echoing around the house your words like compliments spat at me like posion darts of deceit which lay at my door for it was my fault you couldn't let it all go I would take back my sorry's and my fighters stance my bulletproof face that stood in front of your glass house and watched your life implodel and i scraped my fingers through the wreckage in the hope you weren't hurt I would I could I should I had I did I came I left I remember

Oakes-photo, hypocrisy and flagrant mirky plateau. Brimming celestial warrants overcrowding public housing systems. North-South lights, sell costly iPhone Apps; and then there are Social Societies of non-verbal delight. Password protected non-profitable and over-costly educations of no reward or biblical synonyms. Catastrophizing hash-tag dot.com. Weary party going poster children with glowing anemone guts, fruity looped cantlings, ravenous scattered supper clubbed coughing up ******* on their strange and central affairs unit. Overcome the candisation and sugary affairs of any of the ***** and pops that erstwhile matter less and less. We are speaking of nomenclatures that don't arise. I feel the heat and irregular heartbeat wash over me. The widen of my eyes and my bodies surprise at something that feel so good makes me so low. You lift me up and make me lower than a dog in a ditch. I come back for your addiction, and cuddle the affliction. I skip around the room on you, ignoring my impending doom. Making friends with the sober introverts in the room. You embarrass me, but my veins and blood are too blind to see, and my voice too scared to speak. Inhaling you slowly, with my eyes closed in pleasure only a woman truly embracing her demons can feel. You're what's real, you're all I feel. My heel. And as I start to come down looking for a card or razor I remember that I'm a ******* mess in a ***** dress, nothing more than a hidden bore with an addict's appeal

Ode to the ******* queen's reflection
And honestly, At this moment All that's running through my head, Is rock n' roll, And near memories.. Cotton candy sky, And oxygen breeze. My droopy eyes Are that of relaxation, Not any earth-grown happiness. My slow heart beat is smooth sailing, Not candy-like pills. natural high So beautiful in a way, But darling.. Do you remember being high with me? High on life and love.. Together, Our hearts beating a irregular tune. But that's no longer, So I sit and listen to angry melodies, Screechy guitar riffs And lay here, High alone. Not nearly good as being high with you, I can no longer hear your heartbeat.. Nor mine..

Rock n roll high
Is there someone out there that can make the insecure, secure? The lost become found? The weak become strong? The introvert extrovert and all things in-between? The ugly more beautiful? The headedness and nightmares become more of a joke? The sounds in the background become solid and free Chuck out the garbage The ties that bind thee Those that put you in trouble of the deepest kind The ugliest of mothers hellbent on revenge Taking out pennies from someone else's den Is there someone decent and cool To help get along in the life of a fool? I am the pest the irregular verb Adjectives, hyphens the comma's full stop and nerds All comprehensive found sometimes expensive So you'll never know what kind of gift wraps inside Quaky, Jackie, Stumble bunny and fall Am running amok for the sake of it all Sinderella what a fella He went to the garden zoo Played hokey cokey Oh what a jokey He even drank the soup Happy Halloween you creeps! © Bernard M Coldwell all rights reserved

I've diarrhea, And it's ink, Explaining why My writing stinks. I've constipation Of the brain, Leaving little But shart stains. I'm irregular, I'll wear a diaper, And write my poems On toilet paper.

Shart Attack
Her greatest fear was going color blind, invoking domino effect, she embraced rainbow colors- whenever a chance she found. Now, she walks at the front as if she is the official bearer of colors in our frenzied blueberry hunt, up in the high ranges of Western Ghat's tropical rain forests. Our nostrils are special, "colors we see, make us madly sing" chants rend the air when- fragrance of ***** blooms wafted in the air. "Just like the smell when python opens mouth" said a voice, to the uninitiated, "Quit white, paint everything coal black, or is it the other way round?" "This place is magical can't make a choice" "Look! I found a serious irregular lake down there" "I didn't realize I was walking  in rounds, around a closed mall" "White light is a cheat, pixie laid us  is in the village green" "Y'll fall down" "Green was what i asked for got thick, red, gooey mud" "Why panic?" "Hey meet Mr.Yellow smile, kiss him a pretty, magenta ***** thought, good night" "I've a deep blue psyche, in nightmares I see ***** whales" "Wounded bleeding heart, she was nursed back to health it beats me, she limped back to her old green monster" "Hear that distant drums? brick red monster of the woods mating with a black cat" "A ritual of the tribes? is it meant as a crude joke?" Sitting under a tree shade, I hear for the first time in my life, a white ant's dark wintry song, lilting,  it spoke about the life as the queen ant's *** slave. **"Hey love this ***** magical feat, anything is possible, how reality takes a beat" **** it, three times over, on the bank  of the river,  then in water.."** "Blue grass, blue grass sing all the way up to the mountain pass, where ***** plants grow thick like ***** thoughts, a nightingale in funky dress singing  ***** songs and regale all" "That lush lass, her hair tied with a red bandana is a smart *** **** her" Someone screams in delight, evening spreads a magical light, more laughter, catcalls, the sassy chick just LOL Pass..pass A big headstrong hornbill, surveying the scene, gives a mating call the hillside reverberates with its sound.
