good weather is like good women- it doesn't always happen and when it does it doesn't always last. man is more stable: if he's bad there's more chance he'll stay that way, or if he's good he might hang on, but a woman is changed by children age diet conversation *** the moon the absence or presence of sun or good times. a woman must be nursed into subsistence by love where a man can become stronger by being hated. I am drinking tonight in Spangler's Bar and I remember the cows I once painted in Art class and they looked good they looked better than anything in here. I am drinking in Spangler's Bar wondering which to love and which to hate, but the rules are gone: I love and hate only myself- they stand outside me like an orange dropped from the table and rolling away; it's what I've got to decide: **** myself or love myself? which is the treason? where's the information coming from? books...like broken glass: I wouldn't wipe my *** with 'em yet, it's getting darker, see? (we drink here and speak to each other and seem knowing.) buy the cow with the biggest **** buy the cow with the biggest **** present arms. the bartender slides me a beer it runs down the bar like an Olympic sprinter and the pair of pliers that is my hand stops it, lifts it, golden **** of dull temptation, I drink and stand there the weather bad for cows but my brush is ready to stroke up the green grass straw eye sadness takes me all over and I drink the beer straight down order a shot fast to give me the guts and the love to go on. from "poems written before jumping out of an 8 story window" - 1966

Man has been gifted a great prize Although they never assumed it would be their demise Centuries ago the technology produced Relied upon humans for a little boost However now it seems every thought by a man Requires for technology to come up with the plan It seems man's intelligence has began to backtrack Similar to being subdued in a flashback All the knowledge they've acquired Is something that cannot not be admired Their lives are corrupted by the media They get information from the Internet- not by encyclopedia There is still a chance for them to turn it all around And use these faults to help with the rebound However if they continue on as shown Their advancements will soon be marked with a headstone.

An Essay On Man: Man Vs. Technology
Everyday something new A new vice to lure the masses The people eat it up Becoming more isolated Now they can't talk to a face Only if its on a screen A world connected, as it divides The information age is here We'll all lose each other Togetherness is life

“Technology”
The shades of gray are nearly infinite- mirroring attitudes regarding our sin. Degrees of separation give distinction to human perception of ugliness within. Living now in this ‘Age of Information’ has not made life much more palatable; visible is God’s Truth and Satan’s lies, as individuals determine what’s palpable. Gobs of available data doesn’t translate into experience and useful wisdom directly. Real sapience, is shown by the Holy Spirit, when the ideas of faith are under scrutiny. Biblical principles enable all to overcome corrosive powers of intellectual pollution; however, personal change, only occurs when… one has the mindset for a Heavenly solution! . . . Poem: Intellectual Pollution
Tonight I missed a shot with nostalgia because of myself. I've become such a slave to my phone that the flashing colours in the sky could not, would not bother me. Everything except for the device shining in my palms was blocked out like a voice I didn't want to hear in the first place, Except I DID want to hear it. I want know about everything that is happening around me without burying my face so deeply into Google to find the answers I'm searching for. Nothing ever happens to me because I'm too busy in the comfort of my own home, upon my own couch, on my own phone worrying about the next Facebook status and whether or not it will be entertaining or in need of a dose of an opinion that is my own. I recognize that I have my own personal "cell"-mate that will follow me wherever I go as long as I don't forget it on my kitchen counter. I am shackled to my cellphone. It takes me in handcuffs daily, arresting me at my own free will. A policemen of such small character, yet so many brains. And I already know my rights. I already know my rights because I've researched them enough times with my mobile text book to have them memorized. You have the right to post a status, anything you say can and will be taken out of context. You have a right to an opinion, if you do not have an opinion one will be appointed to you by your desire to impress those whom share a friendship with you. I am a servant to technology. It's as though it is a part of my anatomy. If it's not one item of electronics it's another and it has my full undivided attention. As connected as we are, we have all become disconnected. No one talks anymore. Word of mouth has become word of texting. Important pieces of information are shared via the internet because it's easier to get it out there all at once instead of saying it multiple times. I sadly succumb to every chime I am beckoned with as it demands I answer whomever has interupted the surfing and scrolling and sharing and liking and commenting and posting... I put my phone down in disbelief. Now tell me, "What's on your mind?"

Welcome to the age of information when we are blessed by wireless waves passing through our body/minds and awakened by the electronic chemistry of the computer, the television, the radio, all the little electrical gizmos which are everywhere, so I wonder what is this doing to our brains? so this is not a forest anymore and it's no wonder that we can't quieten our minds no matter how we try so why don't we just learn to love the new electromagnetic ocean and float on our sea of meaningless thoughts?

Electromagnetic Waves To The Head
I think it's crazy that they want me to type an essay over deforestation for a score or practice or to better my writing. That's 60 more minutes I'm wasting of my life. They say that sooner or later everything we do we will do with technology. So here I am now writing this essay that's supposed to be about deforestation and the effects and consequences. We are not discussing the issue. We are sitting in wooden chairs with our computers sitting on our wooden desks surrounded by wooden bookcases. So much irony right? I seem to be the only one to notice anyways. We come here seven hours a day, do hours of homework, "study" the information, aka memorize regurgitate then forget all of it. This is not teaching us. We are not learning anything useful to help us live. It's all numbers and words that do not matter to me. If anyone thinks that all us kids come to school to learn they're wrong and if they think that the teachers come to teach they're even more wrong. We come to pass class after class so we can leave and actually make something of ourselves. The teachers come because they have to for the money. They do not care about us or our feelings. They put all this pressure on us to be the best we can be which really means make a good grade. I've been silent for so long now. Not expressing my feelings towards much of anything. Also toward the reason I have to wake up at five every morning to be around people I do not even like. I feel as though the education system is unfair and cruel and does not take into consideration what the kids who go through this cycle everyday think. So that's what I think about deforestation.

Be the change you want to see Try not to judge, let others be The rain will stop, the storm shall pass Pleasure is pleasing and love can last Set up for sorrow, it's hard to see Open your eyes, switch off your tv Put down the remote and venture outside Get out in to nature where healing resides Turn off your phone, log off the net You'll be surprised with the solace you get Write a poem, cook a nice meal Declare your love, see how it feels Put away the plastic, stop doing your hair Go back to basics, even though it's rare Laugh at your troubles, hug it out Why are you frowning, what's that all about A sign of the times, the information age Escape from the trap, break out of your cage Tell me now, how do you feel Please keep it up, do we have a deal Memories last but gadgets do not Live your life fully, run from the rot

Change
1995 saw the start of Generation Z, the ‘iKids’ with a knack for this new-fangled technology, Millennial 2.0, caught in the limbo of the World Wide Web development and Rose Gold iPhones. They say we’re adaptable, but apparently we can’t make our own decisions about anything. They say that we don’t care about anything except for our tiny little screens, but they forget who put them in our hands, and they forget who they run to for help when they forget how to troubleshoot. They forget what kind of technology we need to keep sustaining life in the Information Age, Caught in a crossfire because Yeah, we’re 90s kids—but the 90s never really actually ended until 2006, the only difference between two decades being how much neon versus how much chrome, and just how expensive accidentally opening the internet app on your mom’s blackberry phone was. We’re nostalgic for all the things we can’t quite remember, and half these high schoolers weren’t actually born until 2000 or 2001. Most of us aren’t old enough to even remember 9/11, nothing outside of the news clips that our teachers show us in history class every single September. I was born in the same year as the Columbine shootings. The United States has not been at peace for a year of my life. We are always fighting— fighting for everything. Human equality, posing arguments about micro aggressions and refugees, seeing the inhumanity in the past that we’re living. None of us are older than 21, under such hard scrutiny while Baby Boomers Wave 2 still run our country. We inherited the Millenial’s exhaustion, the generation before us spending our childhood fighting for all the things that we have never really believed in. Fairytales. Generation Z. The ‘iKids’ who are going to one day be making leaps and bounds with technology, the generation to nurse this dying planet back to health, Millennials 2.0 who know how to learn from our forerunners’ mistakes, who know how to adapt from Sidekicks to iPhone 6S Plus in less than a decade. We’re the kids who have realized that fun is found in safe spaces rather than invading each other’s personal spaces. They say we’re too sensitive, but at the same time they claim that we’re desensitized. And I thought we were the generation that couldn't make decisions.

For centuries philosophers have speculated the role sleep plays in society But it was not until the 1950s that sleep woke up in academia And today sleep studies show what dormant minds really look like Information about our rest we've never seen before However, I've always understood the importance of bedtime You see my parents taught me that sleep and love are soul mates My mom She's the sleeper She loves to sleep She cuddles up on any piece of furniture in my house and snoozes for hours Never views a sitcom past the first commercial break when she's tired And she's okay with that Dad never lets her drive on road trips when night falls Preferring his sleeping beauty tucked safely in the passenger seat Their hands meet as she lets the stars serenade her to slumber While he anchors his left hand on the steering wheel Thanking his lucky stars for his real life princess My dad He's the snorer He loves to snore He roars like a lion on his love seat and naps for hours Never views a sitcom past the second commercial break when he's tired And he's okay with that Mom never lets him sleep alone too long though Keeping his nose plugged strong enough to signal for bedtime They both stand together as he lets her guide him to slumber While she ushers her left hand around his back Thanking her lucky stars for her own prince charming Now my parents call me the dreamer And I sure do love to dream It seems my parents are textbook role models for me Because when you live inside a fairytale for far too long Your reality becomes an endless stream of fantasies Your expectations are exceptionally out of context Strictly written for poetic lines in picture books Never meant to be held Never meant to be felt Only meant for spines stuck on rosewood shelves My parents call me the dreamer And boy I love to dream I believe in creating the unthinkable And when you live inside a fairytale for far too long Nothing is fictional You picture a life with storybook endings Praying the author never runs out of ink You crown each syllable the king of the moment Treating each page like royalty And I've always been okay with that So when I asked my mom when she knew she fell in love She spoke of an instant of unadulterated emotion She said she knew instantly She didn't need to sleep on it When I asked my dad when he knew he fell in love He just smiled back at me He must have known instantly He didn't even speak on it So when I ask myself when I might fall in love I can't help but smile Think of fairytale titles Mile wide love notes in all shapes and styles And a moment where my reality sets my hopes on fire And I won't need to dream about it anymore

South American Gymnast Asks For Forgiveness
From Alan Lomax to the commercial art and now the money machine. At the turn of the century; when sound recording 1st became available to the masses, recording a song was an opportunity for folk to reach out; and tell the world something up front and personal. It meant that people were able to put themselves on “The record” A way of leaving a permanent audio statement, an epitaph, an audio sound bite immortalising ~ life, mood, emotion captured and bottled for all eternity. (A medium that conveyed messages from artists and storytellers of all kinds) A recording was also a great addition to "The family album" something more tangible, a window to a real person, with a real life, a message and a point of view; a legacy, a blast from the past. Few people expected sound prints to be re-designed, homogenised, formulated, copied, repackaged and that art and the message would be played over and over again by new artists in the form of "cover music" or that the style of the messages would become secularized, seperated into distinctive groups, or constrained by an elite clique or commercial genre. Labelling and streamlining art & music mostly benefits the commercial art & music industry; and no longer the artists and creators. I've no problem with good business, or the multi-billion pound industrys that have gained commercial success. However the process of mass homogenisation, product synthesis, marketing, streamlining and then packaging fashion, sound and synthetic culture to sell a product, leaves very little room for creative people to just be creative. A medium originally open to many for self expression, a historical record, an archive, a voice, a personal message; Is now just a vehicle for advertising and perpetuating a genre of nonsense, so much so that there is now more white noise immortalised than messages. To re-cap ~ I Think that creativity and expressionism; like story telling conveys moods and messages from the present and past! Artists and musicians should have the opportunity to create and produce more information than they copy; thus creating a richer more colourful tapestry, whilst not devaluing the message of their predecessors! * * * * * * * * * Faces of friends, of people i met earlier are  glittering stars on this late evening's dark blue sky...their smiles are tattooed in my mind...they're  hunched, going lower by the days...slowed down by years. it must be hard and painful...the arching, the drooping of the neck, the curving spine, they endure all, 'til each day's end...they rise each new dawn...do what they still can do, lest they stagnate in their aging ponds, diminish to a state, where food, pills, or forgotten information are forced on them, ......like drugs, injected into the veins ........................ these wee hours bring back the years... they  have been good...never mind the hard times...there were, there are good ones life is a long, wide stream of changing hues, flowing on and on....my water bears the colors each new day brings...gray, at times with sadness and gloom....other days, blacked by despair...some summers, red, roseate with glee, or green with life and hope...blue, when trust is spilling, and the tranquil sea and sky overwhelm, with a promise of stability..........white, when accepting......the unacceptable... ........................ the amber grains and i, are alike ripened enough to be plucked be pulled out from an existence...the signs are known...shown...yet, i wait for when it is due to happen...and while waiting, the stalks sway, play and dance   and enjoy the sun and wind...and i, while i still can...walk, jump, climb hills and valleys in this mammoth space of land and water.............called life ................... the sounds of my days, i still hear, i am a lute, a harp, a cello...playing off-key.....out of tune at times, my strings are my graying hair, i still can't stop dying the gray i still want to highlight the dark, but, one day, all these will cease... ............ one night, my face will be in one of those many stars...glittering on a dark blue sky sending a smile, to my loved ones. ................... Social media companies Swear it's you they want to please They badly want for you to see That they value privacy And that there are several strictures On who can see your posts and pictures. You think your profile is secure You're satisfied until you hear That they sell your information To advertising corporations. Every post that you've spent time on pictures, videos you had your eye on They save it all for using later And say "It's ONLY metadata!" They as good as have a list Of content that you can't resist And knowing full well what you like With custom ads they duly strike! They desperately want you to keep scrolling So they can see the money roll in. And their ethics will be forfeited So advertisers can be profited.

Knights clad in paper armor Draw their pen-shaped swords In preparation for battle Against the dragon named Algebra All year they've trained for this day Poring over musty tomes Filled with archaic battle plans Entire armies have been lost In the dangerous search For the elusive variable called X The informants A and B Have consistently given Inconsistent information And the number line Has completely deserted them The numbers taunt the knights Mocking their puny calculators Confident in their unanswerable status Yet one by one The polynomials fall The dragon bows it's head The Knights have won the day.

Battle for the Final Exam
Success is as dangerous as failure. Hope is as hollow as fear. What does it mean that success is a dangerous as failure? Whether you go up the ladder or down it, you position is shaky. When you stand with your two feet on the ground, you will always keep your balance. What does it mean that hope is as hollow as fear? Hope and fear are both phantoms that arise from thinking of the self. When we don't see the self as self, what do we have to fear? See the world as your self. Have faith in the way things are. Love the world as your self; then you can care for all things. ___________ "Lao Tzu is believed to have been a Chinese philosopher (a person who seeks to answer questions about humans and their place in the universe) and the accepted author of the  Tao Te Ching,  the main text of Taoist thought. On whether technology has influenced the seeming rise in mental health issues: The concept of technology as separate than Nature is impossible to pin down, but to say that a lifetime of social pressures, advertising, television, and processed and genetically altered foodstuffs would not affect what the brain is used to, and what is was designed to do, is a non sequitur. Certainly an entirely separate set of influences also had negative consequences in the brains' of pre-man, but these were not of his own making, as he still lived in an organic environment, and therefore wasn't a part of the "feedback loop" we have going on with humans becoming the products of a man-made environment (one of the only things that sets us apart from most the animal kingdom). Either way, whatever you're doing you're getting better at it, so with the increase in time spent on the web and watching TV we are increasingly better at watching other people - being passive, non-accountable, constantly comparative and self-obsessed, impotent in light of the mass of information constantly flooding towards you - which the brain was not originally intended for. This seems obvious. So the fact that some people have things like crippling anxiety and OCD, or develop anti-social disorders and the like, seems like a logical result produced by a system (the brain) presented with new and inorganic conditions. On top of that, being a non-douche is naturally and evolutionarily based because it increases the likelihood that others will want to chilll'n'stuff and help you when you need it, but when transposed onto a crowded, fast-paced modernity it twists into something like flattery and competition to appear the most altruistic.

The supreme good is like water, which nourishes all things without trying to. It is content with the low places that people disdain. Thus it is like the Tao. In dwelling, live close to the ground. In thinking, keep to the simple. In conflict, be fair and generous. In governing, don't try to control. In work, do what you enjoy. In family life, be completely present. When you are content to be simply yourself and don't compare or compete, everybody will respect you. _ "Lao Tzu is believed to have been a Chinese philosopher (a person who seeks to answer questions about humans and their place in the universe) and the accepted author of the Tao te ching, the main text of Taoist thought. Life and non-Life are part of a system-- a "system-like" system, but one nonetheless. Where Entropy's that which is hidden from us-- and Information without meaning is total chaos. But hold. Poets, Bards & Thieves. Of shame, of game, of blame, they speak of secrets on the leaves. In more or less a drunken mess, their simmered shimmered consciousness could barely rarely quite express what causes them to grieve. After some hesitation and liquid persuasion, the only collusion this final conclusion: *Pain is entropic; Extra-sensory stimulation received as distortion via sensory limitations-- Confusing the mind refusing the signs, forcing us to shutter the blinds. But what is behind? Unveil pain's curtain and what do we find? Contextualisation, possible causation-- Mind-Body integration without hesitation-- palpable, abstract Information dissemination!*

Entropy Reduction Units (or Poets, Bards & Thieves)
“Life was easier when I was young.” Was what my grandma used to say, “We didn’t have all the problems that people have today. All of this technology, it helps clutter our mind, Without it we’d be much less stressed I think that you would find.” I never used to understand how she could think that’s true, It’s obvious computers have made life easier for me and you! Just look around at all the incredible things available to man, The most powerful technology that can fit in the palm of your hand! We have Email, and iPods, and TV you can record! We have every kind of website to peruse if you’re bored! We have Netflix, and GPS, and don’t forget Smartphones, And we can do all our shopping with a mouse click in our homes! Things have gotten so convenient that it’s so hard for me to know, How somebody could think life was easier many years ago. But as I grow older, I now slowly begin to see, The difficulties that were also invented along with technology. We now have cybercrime, which poses a very real threat, Credit card information gets stolen and you can be crippled with debt. And all your personal information sits vulnerable on your home computer, Hackers can easily break in and take it like a cybernetic looter. There are too many channels on TV you feel like your mind could drown, And people in the ‘50’s never had their DVR break down. People had only one phone at home; no cellphones at all; Nowadays, I hate that anyone at any time can give my cellphone a call. We have an entire of world of problems that we never had before, And with the pace that society is moving they’re impossible to ignore. As I get older, all this convenience slowly seems less grand, And when I think of what my grandma said, I finally understand.

Expectation
What I fear isn’t hairy eight legged creatures crawling into my mouth at night What I fear isn’t the whole “Something’s gonna come out of the dark and eat me,” while I’m trying to get a glass of water in the middle of the night. Nor even when my father angrily yells at me Because in all honesty he starts regurgitating spit from his mouth making it so hard to take him seriously when he’s drooling. What I’m afraid of is… I’m afraid of tomorrow… You see, Once upon a time On a Saturday Night I was so excited to finally finish writing my second chapter of my fan fiction Talking to a few friends. And relaxing from my stressful day of a Saturday. Then suddenly a wild message about financial aid appears, Now, This isn’t where my fears start coming to life This isn’t even where my thoughts were being provoked. This was just a simple conversation about financial aid information. You see,| My friend knows little about financial aid and my friend asked about the information I know. I thought, “Well I have limited knowledge on this…I’ll give my friend my best answers and hope it turns out alright.” Well, Things didn’t turn out the way I had imagined it. You see, This private conversation evolved into a group chat And even the financial aid information conversation evolved into, “How are you going to pay for your college expenses?” You see, I don’t fear of creatures with eight legs, I don’t fear of monsters in the darkness I don’t even fear of my father’s angry tone! I fear what tomorrow’s going to be I fear that my future will only just be a dream. It’s so hard to be focusing on where I’m going to be at next year when this year looks like the saddest thing on Earth. It’s so hard to concentrate on tomorrow when today looks like a horrible nightmare. Today, I’m stressed I’m not stressed about my grades I know I work harder than the average student. I’m not stressed about the guy I might like Because right now, A boyfriend is not what I be needing. I’m stressed that I may not get a job I’m stressed that my dad may lose his I’m stressed that my mom can’t find another I’m stressed that I won’t be able to pay for my ACT Ticket I’m stressed that I won’t be able to afford my SAT Subject Ticket I’m stressed that I won’t be able to pay for my college apps And I’m stressed that I can’t get fee waver Because according to the government my parents make too much for me to have one When in reality My family barely survives on a paycheck. It’s getting harder and harder to survive on that paycheck Because presently speaking It’s getting harder and harder to pay to keep on living. And because I don’t have a job yet, My parents are still forced to pay for me to keep on living. I’m stressed that I’m not going to have a tomorrow I’m stressed that I’m not going to go to a college to pay college expenses for I’m stressed that this fear is going to keep controlling my life! But… I can’t let that happen… I can’t let this fear run my life. ‘Cause sooner or later its going to run it down tot eh ground and I won’t be able to recover from that I can’t let this fear consume me, Because I’ll never find a way out. I fear something… I don’t fear eight hairy legged creatures crawling into my mouth at night, I don’t fear monsters eating me alive while I’m trying to get something to drink. Nor do I fear my dad yelling at me. I fear of tomorrow. I can’t focus on where I’m going to be at next year when today is all foggy with no sign of light.

If you overesteem great men, people become powerless. If you overvalue possessions, people begin to steal. The Master leads by emptying people's minds and filling their cores, by weakening their ambition and toughening their resolve. He helps people lose everything they know, everything they desire, and creates confusion in those who think that they know. Practice not-doing, and everything will fall into place. _______ "Lao Tzu is believed to have been a Chinese philosopher (a person who seeks to answer questions about humans and their place in the universe) and the accepted author of the Tao te ching, the main text of Taoist thought.
