"iconic" poems
Sometimes, I am in love with myself. I force them to witness my love for my melanin because they would love for me to hate my melanin. I know that I am seen, but I want to be heard,  The first amendment allows me to speak, but they refused to hear a word- that comes from my mouth. My lips stereotyped as too black. My diction too proper to act like this, yet my slang is too ghetto to act like that... Sometimes, I wonder what it's like to be white. I hate being stared at when I speak in Spanish. I never know if it's in disgust or in comfort,  because the sound of the double "r" rolling off of my tongue sounds like the ricochet of the bullets they fire from their guns. Since they no longer can enslave us like animals, they slaughter us because, "if I can't have you no one can." I refuse to be put down. I refuse to shutdown. My brown skin threatens, and you all should be afraid. Because I will banish your negativity with my Latin American flow, speaking in Spanish with the Bachata tempo filling my veins. My Ebonics is iconic,  and I refuse to be put in a box when the world is a sphere. I... am more... than this.

#blacklivesmatter : Thoughts from a Blatina
**You're a sight for sore eyes Been blinded by the light Too many times** Waves upon waves Of color changing iconic notions Fueled up emotions and sad faces Shadows and shapes shining bright At the height of the modern age **A different way to accentuate the names we put inside our minds Digital rhymes change the journey we travel** When it unravels, we share, post and tag A lag and we're lost in the dim lights of what we do next Shifting through pages of endless faces, words and updates **Times alienate the importance of touch Yet the ignorance has a much higher impact Than the influence of how to overreact** Observe this society.... Is this how our lives were meant to be, Staring at phones and computer screens? **** this technology**, for taking you away from me Taking moms from children and dads from jobs Making every other relationship lose trust and feel wrong **** this technology for what it does to me** What it does to you, to society. **** this technology, but don't you dare try to take my phone from me.**

Capricorns, Capricorns are ruled and schooled by the planet Saturn, Saturn, Saturn. A bandit with a similar pattern, pattern, pattern. Capricorns, Capricorns are brethren from a legion; a legion of an atmosphere of the southern-hemisphere; in the equatorial region. At an angle, angle, angle; Capricorns, Capricorns are angels of Aquarius and Sagittarius. They’re boisterous, courageous, contagious, glamorous, prestigious, rebellious, various and victorious-goats, goats, goats! Capricorns, Capricorns cope, devote, note and quote, quote, quote. They’re ambitions with superstitions and various missions, missions, missions! They’re novelties and poverties, revelations and revolutionaries, revolutionaries, revolutionaries. Capricorns, Capricorns are theories and visionaries, visionaries, visionaries. They’re objects, projects and rejects. They’re leaders and readers that are poetically, negatively or positively dictatorial and doctorial!  Some are historical, optical, political and radical; authentic, eccentric, neurotic, poetic, theoretic, theoretic, theoretic. Unicorns, Unicorns are biblical and mythical, mythical, mythical; they’re ****** exotic, iconic, ironic, magic, nostalgic creatures, creatures, creatures. Their features resembling a horse of course, of course. Furthermore, they’re fierce and a force. They’re a breed and creed of desire, fire and perspire, perspire, perspire, perspire! They’re viral, viral, viral! This partial, sworn steed; born awesome, awesome, awesome and too blossom, blossom, blossom. Unicorn’s spiral, crescent horn usually projecting and protruding from their foreheads. Rough and tough enough too pierce, pierce, pierce! Unicorns, Unicorns are defendants, independents and pendants. Hark! Hark! Hark! They’re brilliant and resilient sparks, sparks, sparks! They’re told as bold, old art, from the heart, from the start. Unicorns, Unicorns are fillers and pillars of guide, pride and stride, stride, stride. They’re along for the long, long, long ride... Unicorns, Unicorns are strong, strong, strong! Some as a song, song, song, some throng, throng, throng, some wrong, wrong, wrong. As a child, child, child; wild, wild, wild! Unicorns, Unicorns overwhelm, overwhelm, overwhelm. Their domicile realm, apparently, inherently and originally belonging from India; alleluia, alleluia for India, India, India! Capricorns and Unicorns; two different creations. Capricorns and Unicorns; two different relations. Capricorns and Unicorns; two different situations and superstitions. They’re rainbows that glow, know and show. They’re of borrow, of sorrow and of our tomorrow.

I know it's just been a week But I'm already beginning to miss you And I'm not the only one You do make an impact On anyone who has been lucky enough To get to know you Whether it be family or friends Or maybe even total strangers! Anyway, we've had some great times together I shall never forget our trip to the UK And the fun we had there Especially the Wimbledon camping experience Would you have believed me then If I had told you That you would end up returning there to study In a matter of three years? Mysterious indeed, are the ways In which Fate works Our trip to USA was equally memorable Who will ever forget that iconic moment When you identified a McDonald's cafe from the plane? Nothing, absolutely nothing ever Escapes those beady eyes of yours This is one of the many things I love about you We may not spend a lot of time talking to each other But you understand me very well Perhaps more than I understand myself And I know that I can always count on you Anyway, I am getting too sentimental Have a good time out there I'm sure you'll find new friends In fact, as I write this You seem to be making progress on that front already Try to balance studies and housework as much as you can And most importantly Take care of yourself Whatever problems you might face Know that you're not alone We have your back always, no matter what It is your happiness Rather than what course you do Or what job you may find That matters to us the most So, on that note Let me wish you all the very best Take care and stay in touch Miss you loads

What Hope Remained? What hope remained when hope for hope was spent?         When putrid plumes dulled morning into night         Hope lived in heart-struck deeds of bold intent,         As mortals wept and earthborn angels went         With downcast eyes to clamber heavens height. What hope remained when hope for hope was spent?         When panicked sirens wailed a lost lament         And backs were bowed beneath ungodly weight,         Hope lived in heart-struck deeds of bold intent         As boots bore souls up treadmills burnt and bent         To scale a void devoid of dawning light. What hope remained when hope for hope was spent?         For those in sight of angels heaven sent         Atop the world to aid their mortal plight,         Hope lived in heart-struck deeds of bold intent.         When wingless brethren conquered feared ascent         To gift last hope to all who saw their might:                 What hope remained when hope for hope was spent?                 Hope lived in heart-struck deeds of bold intent. In The Fall I chanced upon a stranger in the fall, Cosmetic garb of office black and white Portraying calm demeanor of his plight As shadows panicked on a stricken wall, And oft' I find my mind in numb recall To look upon that helpless human kite Who tumbled from the terrors of a height, Yet graceful as an eagle in a stall Before it plummets earthward --   'Neath the pall Of twisted steel rended by follied flight, That stranger lives forever in the light Suspended in iconic timeless sprawl.         I wonder, in the briefness of his fall,         Did he derive the meaning of it all?

A flight of three crows added to a dense grey day Next add four iconic conifers as high as the sky eternally ******* down These things are always in my sight through my window on this wet world Multiply all of this by a sweet daughter who makes me proud and raise the whole to the power of a strong woman who carries us all on her back The equation produces a result that I am 95 percent certain equals happiness though the confidence interval is wide And this result sweet as it is and as uncertain as it is will outlive me leave a faint echo in time an echo that will bounce off a star and finally be found gripped in my shriveled paw long after the epiphany nowhere near paradise somewhere short of the end of the line This is a moment of happiness stolen from time hijacked by a fugitive from civil society I'll hold it close until death pries it without mercy from my hand Leaves it as a blessing and a curse for all who come after Take the blessing. Leave the curse. That's the advice I give with my dying breath. And I leave this to you from the generosity of my heart. With a nod to the scant traces of God's grace that I find on these pathways of travail. Never lost. Never found. Always present and generous to all. Be that.

The Arithmetic of Happiness
A shout out to LeBron For a big night in Akron A welcome win for the Cavaliers Tonight against the TimberWolves. Cavs finally ended the drought Via the energy they brought. Coach Tyronn Lue drew up a game plan That finally brought a win to the land. Both teams put up a spectacular show Leaving the erratic Cavs fans like wow! The combined 3s of forty was historic, Shot by both teams was really fantastic! Tonight LeBron played like a real GOAT! Playing great basketball from all over the court! The big block on Butler is not what this is about, But the clutched game winner fadeaway he shot! IBPoetry 2/8/2018

LeBron's Iconic Fade away
A squirrel has the capacity To reclaim nuts from memory. But they can't make Peanut Butter To smear themselves, Or their nuts, Like animals For *** The Bottlenose Is self-aware, We noted in His glassy stare; When put before A carnival mirror, So covex, concave, Too complex, We also note A confusing quiver; The water's not What makes him shiver. Pigs are said to be As smart as me When I was three. Now I'm four. A chimp can nail Two boards together, To make A cross; We pray they Don't redress Their loss. Whale song is said To carry on Beneath the blue For 1 00 miles. Its got a beat. Do they Do the **** Or slow Whale dance. Crows, you know, Have studied us For 10 000 years. They're iconic, Mythic tricksters Cawing knowingly Above our ears. So much so For 10 000 years. 10 000 more Should we rot So long.

** A new poetry posting site from God's own country, Kerala in India Poetry dates all the way back to the beginnings of Humanity. People have always been questioning nature, and the day-to-day existence of themselves and other humans love, death, survival, war, injustice, and the universe are all examples of things that have been questioned by men and woman since the roots of human existence. Whether in nursery rhyme, ballad, jingle, rhyme, anthem, or music, people have found poetry to be an outlet for expressing these questions, sensations, and experiences People often associate it with strict rhyming patterns, complicated vocabulary, hidden iconic meanings, and difficult rhythmical conventions. Poetry is even taught in school to be an intricate, complicated, inexplicable puzzle. True, poetry is difficult. Sure, it can be harder to understand than prose. However, that is only because sometimes it is involved with your inescapable complexities and uncertainties of your existence. In this era when the soul wants to go on a spree, imagination and creativity are all merged to serve and let you fulfill your wish to express. The pen, mightier than the sword, is free and can conquer hearts all over the world. So here is a site which allows unity in diversity and considers not cultural and racial barriers. It welcomes professionals and amateurs equally as poetry believe not in prejudice. Human beings are free to write their feelings and emotions. We therefore invite here people from all over the world to celebrate under the ipoetree. Feel at home here under the shade of this tree which pines to have as fruits your poems. Williamsji Maveli (Williams George Maveli) is an enthusiastic and solid writer. He is a sincere, resourceful and diligent in his poetic work. He is very well connected and networked within the literary community and is willing to take up projects even in his tight schedules. His writings reflect the amount of research on the current events that has gone into it along with his knowledge and expertise in the field. However, Williamsji’s many poems are simple to read, interpret, and understand. His latest book, titled “ARAMVIRALTHUMBATHU…” (On the tip of the sixth finger), is now published and released by H & C Books,Trichur, Kerala in India, which is a collection of lyrics. whenever i go online shopping, no matter if it's high end, low end, or in between, i would always sort the items from low to high. not only because it's a safe way to shop and that it makes me look like i take budgeting seriously, but that's the only thing i can afford. talk about me, a high middle class kid that tries DESPERATELY to not spend so much on the things he wants rather than the things he needs while still unemployed and in college as well as getting many allowances from his parents. you are COMPLETELY allowed to say that i am spoiled, i understand and am aware of that. as i scroll down and observe the price tags slowly rising up, $10, $15, $29.99, $49.99, $79.99, until it hits $3,000, i not only thought, "how do you think that it was a good idea to make that simple, plain jacket in such a high price?" but i also had to admit that i really did wanted that jacket since i thought it looked cute. the problem with that is: most of the stuff i wish i have in my wardrobe, they would all usually be so expensive, especially since most of the stuff i want to have is from high end streetwear brands. i would see almost every celebrity wear my future wardrobe, all looking so confident, trendy, iconic, stylish. oh, how i wish to be like them, sometimes. how i wish to be rich. how i wish to not worry about saving money. how i wish to just show off iconic outfits from amazing high end brands. how i wish to have what i always wanted. i know i should be content with what i have. i mean there always will be other solutions to wear something inspired by designer clothes i've dreamed to have. but **** would i look good in that $3,000 jacket.

My New Year’s Eve was spent collecting fragmented recollections to confirm that my dignity had truly died. Soberly, I perused the bars and clubs, and walked aimlessly up and down crowded streets, feeling like my life had somehow been shifted into slow motion, while the rest of the world, engaging in joyous celebration and ffestivities, was knocked out of rhythm from my existence. How in the world could the clock strike midnight? How could people embrace, and kiss at the dropping of the ball? How could they laugh and smiile, and wish each other a “Happy New Year!”? More importantly, how could those god **** traffic lights have the audacity to continue changing from red to ggreen to yellow, then back to red again. My dignity had just died. My dignity had just died. My dignity was dead. My dignity was gone. In the days and weeks that followed the death of my dignity, I noticed that life faded from colloquial to iconic, like something mystical, or an intangible object of deep longing. And recurrent images of those ******* obnoxious traffic lights insensitively switching colors replay in my mind to remind me over and over in the greens (go), the reds (stop), and the yellows (be careful), that my dignity had died. Memories of the ddays before my dignity had died run through my mind like old home movies with centuries of black and white film stuck on repeat, and slowly fraying, around the edges, because of the harsh demands of time. It is life’s harsh and cruel irony that these images, once my greatest joy, have now become inflicters of the greatest pain that I have ever felt. Like a sound wave of pain, so powerful, that it has silenced any other pain that my heart has ever heard. So now I know, it is true life is a bitch. The fading of my dignity has made me overly aware of the earth turning on its axis. As spring approached, for the very first time, I noticed the way the flowers seem reluctant to bloom, as if uncertain of their welcome invitation. Such a cruel reality, that the flowers would choose to bloom, and nature would choose to carry on, slipping further and further away from the day that my dignity died. And still, to this day, those **** traffic lights keep switching colors

She reveled above the film of Central Park sun-rays Angel of granite, seductress of seagulls Perched above her iconic feathered fingers Angel of granite, enchanter of flocks of well traveled bodies flecked with salty sea crystals Angel of granite, fountain May Cascades dancing diamonds from her feet Posing for pictures, frozen in heat of Summertime sailboat breeze Angel of granite, goddess of brittle bird bones wading in chlorine puddles of tears

Yoda so fly, ain't no other franchise can try. Star Wars, my first true love. Always wantin' to be a jedi, destroy all sith and bring balance to the force. Almost may 4th, May the forth be with you there was 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 but 7? you bringin' me to heaven Star Wars, is there anything better

As I walked the hills I heard the horns The stamp of steeds and cry of a hound I ran towards that iconic call The hunt was on, I knew the sound As I watched the fox run and hide A magnificent creature sleek and fine The thought intruded upon me And created an image in my mind What greater event could I encounter Of the pursuit of love that I here had The pursuit of something beautiful called forth with trumpets and fanfare Chased by all and caught by few Tracked and then lost, joy and despair The chase of the fox Woman, seductive and coy Pursued by gross beasts Determined man and boy For love like that fox is wily and sly Catch only a glimpse before it flies by Sleek and slender a thing of great worth Pursued by all to bring home to the hearth For love outside your possession has no value Home it must reside to bring satisfaction to you

I’ve got my glitter -- It pours down on me, Shiny, black, and splendidly dark. Your glitter is gorgeous -- It trickles down smoothly, Light, pink, and splendidly sparkly. You've got the occasional Black poured down upon you, But it's quickly washed away. Gone, overthrown by your Iconic pastel glitter. Mine is black. It stays black. When I get the occasional Light colored glitter, It simply seems to fall through My black glitter coated fingers, Gone. The light glitter’s gone, and All I've got is black.

Blue a soothing hue with varying complexions like that of each open sky bountiful clouds an energetic sun and magnificent rainbows complimenting it Blue a soothing hue cascading its spectrum of light and coolness onto the earth drawing many to its canopy Blue a soothing hue like that of the Nile serene sounds of historic waters flowing a great distance confirming its majesty and embracing sanctuary If the color blue is so why are so many in Sudan blue why are so many in Sudan dying why are so many in Sudan ***** why are so many in Sudan weeping If the color blue is so why is Sudan blue why is Sudan worried why is Sudan being terrorized why is Sudan fighting back If the color blue is so why is Sudan's peaceful protesters being attacked why are courageous women speaking out If the color blue is so why are tears falling from natives' eyes filling up an iconic river as they mourn the ******   of their mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, husbands, wives, brothers, sisters remembering good times dear ones' smiles, hearts, kisses, words, their love and mercy expressed Blue a soothing hue yet we need know why yet we're obligated to think why yet we must talk why Sudan is blue

Isn't it ironic We all wanna grow up and become iconic Yet the closer we get the faster we run like sonic Dreams just getting smaller babe don't cry on it Move on you'll never be what you've always wanted That's the voice in your mind tryn' put you down Just hit the ground Raise your head up and look around Some have made it So go chance it Soon you'll wear the crown And who ever laughed at you and brought you down They will all look like clowns drown in the dreams Come back alive in your own made up life Watch me grow In your nights I will glow Take my hand and you'll know That's my hope talking Am fighting my own self no joking yet you find me smiling like am the king

Hail in peace wherever you abode now, dear Nadine Gordimer You white daughter of Africa, the pen-mistress of July’s people, You are the lover of July, your holy months of literature That similarly gave a ****** grave marriage to Maziz Kunene The African saint of orature; And Okot P’ Bitek, the lion of Gulu, July have wedded you to the sombre grave in the Jo’burg, As its apparatchik, the menacing jaws of death feel humdinger! O! Dear little daughter, cursed are the jaws of death They have kept on wooing and wooing you relentlessly They have yearned for your betrothal with mad jealous, For your iconic position in white African literature, In which you stand with soldierly embrace a Nobelite, They have now taken you to their inner chamber nuptials in death, Before anything; let them now pay dowry to your bothers; J M Coetzee, Alex La Guma and Dennis Brutus, For there’s is a competent herds boy, a black shepherd; Ezekia Mphalele, his living soul will keep the cows Off down Corner B of the troubled African Image. Say hello for those you are with in the current realm, Say hello to foremen and fore daughters of Africa Those that chose to visit the realm of ancestor precociously; Say hello to them; Angelo Maya and Doris Lessing, Let their caged birds and blooming grass sing uproariously, Marriama Ba and Margaret Ogola, African girls, They had a long letter and the source of the river from black dialectics, O! Dear old baby Nadine Gordimer, stand firm in face to face with nothing Other than the present time you’re in; the Africa’s realm of living dead To sing the ballads of anti-apartheid both in heaven and on earth, The only true testament of your footprints on the global sands of times That Nadine Gordimer, July’s white-African daughter is deadly alive!

A subtle carol echoes of the evening Upon bended knee I am arrested Betwixt strange refrains Shaking the floorboards of Teicu The evocative moans amplify The foolish peacemaker of astrologists The English dream of poetry Those I coaxed by death Were the witnesses of the tragedy And were familiar with its ballad Crafted the design ‘tis conceptual *********** Eradicated their honor for vanilla threads As they shimmy and shimmy They defile elongated hankering And retreated in the greenhouse of Woodstock Its language made iconic by efficacious character Having often been labeled an experiment Broadening its brilliance along death’s boulevard ‘tis she who was the stunning one Her language made sacred by her iconic fame A long time controversial reference An automaton, an origin of extraterrestrial etiology The evocative moans ensnares the tourist
