Deferred thought my mind speaks
but unable to reach
Since, lacking proper fuel
words are no more than tools
Idly on the shelf
All alone by themselves
Whether each has the skill
Makes no difference still
Needs a user to wield
The brain must be unsealed
Else it's nothing but noise
And will only annoy
To communicate one
Has to pay attention
And your message think through
It is important too

Make sure listen right back
Without barbs or attacks
Open-mind speaking freely
Add diplomacy
Must employ use of tact
Support statements with fact
Do not rush; take your time
Critical? Then be kind
Not a must to agree
Can't force someone to see
Each of us has his thoughts
Throughout life we are taught
There are social patterns
Easily to discern
So, wherever you fall
Do not build up a wall

Keeping out you will win
As you lock yourself in
Rigid form without flex
New ideas will perplex
Ignorance and denial
Grow into a pile
On island alone
Statue that's made of stone
In your mind you’re entombed
Happy life is now ruined
Feeling always against
With a paranoid sense
A refusal to see
An unwavering tree
But a tree can still bow
Give and take it will show

Rigid thoughts become firm
Close your mind; will not learn
Placing all of the weight
Just for you; here to take
And must always support
Forcibly will contort
Having flex we adjust
This in life is a must
Something we can not do
Like to uncook a stew
Won't exist very long
People just not that strong
Or should they try to be
A journey incomplete
Happiness lies within
On these words please don’t spin

A sole island you're not
Harmony should be sought
Infinite universe
You can’t always be first
Finding balance in life
Like to see without sight
Each of us wants respect
But to give is to get
Listen up before talking
Use foot and start walking
Will find in due time
Not to bother or mind
People are free to think
From each other we drink
How we grow and evolve
Complex problems we’ll solve

Not a perfect system
But we gather wisdom
Always strive to improve
It’s the best we can do
To communicate we
Open our minds to see
And try to understand
Flawed and kindred humans

I need you to know
That life keeps flowing
People miss the big picture
So caught up in tomorrow, they cant see how much it wont matter in a week
In fact by then, they'll have a new tomorrow to worry about

I need you to know that our hearts beat like cellos and our blood runs like ink
That no one has ever had to listen
That the world is still new and there is still so much to change
That the sky still waits for exploration
And so do the deep seas

I need you to know
That people are kind, or they want to be
And bigotry is only a product of parents who are a product of theirs.
And that people who change for the better are reaching themselves
And those for the worse are losing themselves
Because people can change their habits
But not themselves

I need you to know
That we all die
And life is like a solemn orchestra
Serenading you to loss
But never forget that beyond what the music brings
It truly is beautiful

I need you to know
It all deserves the world, every last detail
And that Nocturne No.2 will get you through anything
And that it's all about outlook

As we depart
I need you to know
That ink runs like blood
And cellos beat like our heart
And people are kind
And the world is an adventure
And emotians are art
And art is emotions

Above all
I need you to know
Embrace the world with open arms
And you will be everything you contend to be
over the past weeks
a gentle autumn sun
has painted colored leaves
upon the ground
and thinned
the bright abundance
of the wooded ranges

most of the harvest
is securely stored by now
or sold at morning markets
by weathered men and women
in country garbs

vintners are busy with their lots
fermenting grapes
and entertaining those
who see their visit
as pleasant pastime and escape
from daily urban chores

hunters and lumbermen
are waking up
to shoot and mark

schools by this time
have settled into the new year
teachers are happy still to share
the knowledge of our world
with students still inclined
to listen

businessmen
remembering their vacations
on the Bahamas or in Saint Tropez
step sprightly into offices
womanned by secretaries dreaming secretly
of beautiful Mallorca summers
and of those never-ending nights
on the Algarve

I guess it is a human thing
to find a new beginning
and do best
when nature’s breath goes easy
to collect the strength
for yet another fruitful year

or were it better
that we also took a rest?

They never really cared.
She never really thought about you.
We never really say what we mean.
He never really loved her.
He never really wanted your pitty that year.
She never really tried.
He never really fit in.
They never really wanted to be your friends.
She never really got over him.
We never really think about others first.
He never really forgave her.
She never really wanted forgiveness.
They were never really good people.
He never really "didnt mind".
We never really open up.
She never really said that one thing you wanted to know that one time.
He never really found himself.
They never really got to say goodbye
We never really want to say what's wrong.
We never really want to fix what's wrong.
We never really want to let go.
We never really let go.
We never really cared enough to see the other stories.
You
Never really thought, about all the little white lied "never reallys".

"We're only human."
It's always said
With doubt and disappointment
Like all it will ever be
Is a limitation

Why is that always so?
It should be said like
It's an opportunity
Meaning that we're only able
To always improve

We are only able
To reach further
And find a way to become
Something better
And something more

Something that pushes on
To improve the quality of life
In any aspect possible
Raising standards and
Changing mindsets

To unite under the idea
Of being citizens of the world
And move away from
Being citizens of
Our own selfishness

So do not doubt
Because we are only human
Yearn and strive for better
Simply because
We are all human
And who better than us
To change the world

all poets are human, therefore, all humans are

"In logic, a tautology (from the Greek word ταυτολογία) is a formula that is true in every possible interpretation."

<•>
hardly a tightly taut tautology,
yet true this, in every possible instance

all humans, poems,

as if their portrait painted

from words dipped in a vocabulary palette

which is why,

you my million muses,

are so oft the themes of *who
I write

and when foolish think there is no
inspiration in the air,
your names
each and every,
a title awaiting
finishing

extensions to an emotion
grown like branches on a tree,
blooming towards beauty,
further reaching the sky,
touching the blue
with the tip of the flowers.
life, bursting out,
in one way or another.
endurance, the key
a way of living, so to speak
surviving the storm, or adapting to it.
giving the branches strength,
strength to withstand the worst,
only to be given another day
another day to bloom,
another day to grow,
to branch out, thicken and, burst out
into something unexplainable,
rather observable,
reaching out to hights
and depths, simultaneously.
most of the times, filling the notes is way more difficult than writing poems, but oh well, I don't like to leave blank spaces, it's just another opportunity to write something, enjoy.

6:30 PM 15/10/18 slam poem
"What's her name?" An excited voice whispered.
My benchmate asked me,
Just as the new girl entered,
With all her glowing ebony beauty.

I thought about something,
Ignored him and simply so,
Continuing my reading of the drama.

He prodded on like a nagging child,
"Tell me, Atul, what's her name?
Who's that **** girl?"

His whisper was loud enough now,
The girl heard it as she climbed,
Climbed higher on the back seats and how.

I glared at my benchmate,
In disappointment & disgust,
It was him who I had befriended.

'Him! I befriended him!! Out of them all!!!'
I thought about my vulnerability in our society,
But I did not react to him out of that anger.

I just said, "What's in a name?"
He raised his eyebrows and moaned, "Huh?"
I said with mirth, "Yes! Someone like you will get her renamed!"

Gives Thanks
Because if you're reading this
You have a screen that you're reading off of
Eyes that see
And the ability to read

Give thanks
Because even if you're going through dark moments
You are still having moments

Give thanks
Because no matter how long it takes
People can see change in you
And eventually they will forgive you
For the things you have done

Give thanks
Because there is a day set aside to be thankful
Because as humans
We have so much that we take
Almost everything for granted

Give thanks
If for nothing else
Give thanks
Because you have air to breathe
And your heart is still beating
Happy Thanksgiving

Humans are so ******.
Arrogant, disgusting, small-minded, selfish, pathetic mortals.

I think I might be one.

That would explain a lot.
Thanks for reading.

Maybe I'll make a series as a way to label my poems in this style?

PS I need advice on titles!  I don't like them.

if you can be anything
be kind.

we are all just humans.
we laugh at cute cat videos,
hum little songs,
eat raw cookie dough and laugh when it makes one giant cookie mass.

life is made of these moments.
people deserve so much love.
how often do we remind our families we love them?
is it often enough?
how many days do we think only of ourselves.
human nature is beautiful and terrible and stunning.

somehow hate seeps through the cracks of time and makes us bitter and angry.

and it's fine to be angry.
just don't let it consume you.
remember sometimes that there
are old folks out there who still tease each other,
there are babies who giggle when you play peekaboo,
there are dogs with slobbery tongues who need head scratches,
there are children spinning and laughing when they fall.
humams are important.
we are special.

even people we say we hate.
i thought i hated my mom
but i know she cares
and i have seen her run when she thought i was in danger.
i have seen her break into tears at getting a DUI and trying to explain to a child that she might lose her job.

being human is tough.
our hearts harden trying to protect ourselves but
we end up locking people out.

in trying to avoid being hurt
we hurt the ones we love.

please never forget that each person you meet has more than just facet.
people are stunningly complex.
don't judge someome til you've walked two moons in their moccasins.

humans are worth so much.
i don't know what i am saying
but i mean it with all of me.
i love you.
you deserve so much.
Something Is Sinking In The Dark
Such A Shiny wisp, As A Question Mark
Thousand Of Questions Gone A Dust
To Leave One Dream To Be The Last
Such A Bird In The Sky Became Blind
His Only Guide On This World, The Wind
He Is Going On The Storm With A Smile
He Will Realise Soon, Won't Take A while
Such Whole Life Sounds Real, But Fake
While When You're Gone It's Just A Blink
I Tell You Something Before You Whine
How Many Before You Took The Same Line?
This Is One Hard Fact We Will Never Like
But Our Deeds Will Stay To Reveal The Mask
Even The Sun Who Give The Light It Will Blast
And The Dark Will Fall To Stop Your Heart

No Matter How Harsh Will Be Your Life
Or How Many People Hit You With A Knife
What Matters Is How Strong You Can Last
And Dear There Is No Futur Without A Past
It's Something Good To Make You Wise
Life Won't Give You Lessons Without A Price
Your Bills Will Be Paid From Your Heart
From Your Feelings, Soul And The Trust
How Much Work You Will Do To Have A Fame
Remember Nothing Lasts Till The End Of Time
How Many Physical Things You Will Gain
Your Soul On This World Won't Remain
Even The Body Will Moulder With Your Brain
You Don't Like My Words?, Are You Fine !
There Is A Diffirence Of The Level In Our Mind
But We Still From The Same Creation And The Kind

Alot Of People Know What I'm Talking About
And You Still Think There Is Alot Like You?, I Doubt!
The First Human Was Living In A Cave!
And Our Last Station Is The Grave!
Then Rise Your Ethics, To Feel Around
In The End This Life Is Our Only Bound
Give Respect To People To Have Your Own
And Those Around You Won't Lay You Down
Ethics On People Are Their Crown
Losing Them Means Losing The Throne

Umi May 2018
Only in the best season,
The forgotten gateway opens up a field of bell flowers in two colours,
White, the colour of light and love, as pure as it sounds like,
Golden, alike the majestic rising sun in the early morning,
They never cross the road, but are seperated by it, I wonder why...
Perhaps it is the harmony, created by the untouched nature,
Or is it the order they chose to grow in, while the warm weather can be felt through body and soul, through emotions and the mind,
Only the chirping of the locusts, hopping from bell to bellflower,
The road is frankly short, leading to a near forest, yet the sensation, brought to the optic nerve and to the nose through the sweet smell,
This is what makes it something which cannot be truly conveyed in words, because, the untouched nature is art in its very own way,
Until the greed of humanity destroys its gift with their toxity,
What remains are the memories of harmony and grace.

Louis Verata Dec 2018
The antelope will finally have peace
From mortal enemies
No more grass to feed the beast
The lion will starve as there
Will be nothing to eat
Critters of the dirt through litter
Will bury themselves
And plea to not breathe.

The black iguana will burn with dignity
Creatures of the sky will sing
A deadly melody
The shark will have more territory
The Sun once gave and it will take
The Moon, a theatre it will hold
Until it is told that life will be no more.

Alas, Angel of Death
The vulture flying down
Will wish that culture had changed
But it will be too late
It will do its duty
Slayed animals will be at our feet
Greed is our disease
O vulture have mercy.

In a new epoch life will sow its seed
Like it always has
No human or animal that you see
Only beasts from dreams.

I loved your skin so much my fingers
Brushed over it like it was my own
And your frame captivated me to the point
Of believing we were one in the same
I explored your mind until your thoughts became mine
And I planted flowers in between your toes
The day you tried to **** yourself I was standing in traffic
And the second you felt a breeze rush by, you knew
That you could not leave this world without making me wish to leave it, too.
So you stepped down from the bridge and
Let me hold you until we didn’t know which tears belonged to who.
When you flew, I was on top of the world and when you dropped my stomach ached of motion sickness
There was no magnetic pull in the world
That could bring me in like your blue eyes and smile
And it was home; the only home I needed- you and me, together
No sooner had I sent out change of address cards
Did you begin picking flowers, and you
No longer cried when I did
Your skin begged for my touch
But left my fingers seared
So I would shift my weight to the left
And turn to walk away from the burning house
I have loved so dearly.

2 years later and I have finally turned off the lights
And my sister is afraid of what will happen
Should she fall for the boy with sad eyes
And strong shoulders
I pour us two ***** martinis, sit down,
And begin to tell her
That no matter how hard you try,
You cannot make a home out of a human being.
