when i have thought of you somewhat too much and am become perfectly and simply Lustful….sense a gradual stir of beginning muscle, and what it will do to me before shutting….understand i love you….feel your suddenly body reach for me with a speed of white speech (the simple instant of perfect hunger Yes) how beautifully swims the fooling world in my huge blood, cracking brains A swiftlyenormous light —and furiously puzzling through, prismatic, whims, the chattering self perceives with hysterical fright a comic tadpole wriggling in delicious mud

When I Have Thought Of You Somewhat Too
To ill is scourge hazard of modern man; The way of life which tricked you leaves you weak. Before it pounced, prevent you must! You can, Your visions blur, your limbs cut, your times bleak. Avoid refined sweetness pure, you should know, The more you love to eat the more you crave; Your sweet tongue urged pleasures deals a cruel blow, The more you indulge, closer be your grave. This sickness gradual erosion of health, Like shrinking pools merciless sun would drain. A diabetic's woe: no amount of wealth, Could stop the vines that binds and break the chain. Without remedy and won't heal for good, So sweat, please monitor intake of food.

Diabetes; Sonnet #7
Here is the girl's head like an exhumed gourd. Oval-faced, prune-skinned, prune-stones for teeth. They unswaddled the wet fern of her hair And made an exhibition of its coil, Let the air at her leathery beauty. Pash of tallow, perishable treasure: Her broken nose is dark as a turf clod, Her eyeholes blank as pools in the old workings. Diodorus Siculus confessed His gradual ease with the likes of this: Murdered, forgotten, nameless, terrible Beheaded girl, outstaring axe And beatification, outstaring What had begun to feel like reverence.

Strange Fruit
Excuses, excuses - they'll come in a flood, When you realize your actions have pushed me away. Imagine! That I once considered you blood! But I've had quite enough of the games that you play. The switch came in stages, a gradual thing, I first didn't notice; it wasn't too clear. My perspective grew sharper with distance between, Felt your backhanded words as they pin-pricked my ears. You thought I wouldn't notice, would let it slip by, Never gave me much credit, and that was your fault. Wrapped your insults in jokes, like arsenic on rye, And you thought all this time that you wouldn't be caught. I don't know where you get it - this self-righteous act, It's not as endearing as you think it to be. You might take what you want, and then leave it at that, But I'm telling you now: you'll get no more from me. I don't know what has prompted you picking this fight. They're pathetic, yet hurtful, these things that you say. And I don't know where you think you've gotten the right To take it out on me when you don't get your way. For years, it's been happening - don't know how I missed All the ways you controlled me; I answered to you. Always did what you wanted, I'm realizing this; The extent of the selfishness you put me through. But it changed not too long ago, didn't it, dear? Oh yes, I grew a spine, and things started to change. And, oh, you didn't like what you started to hear. My defying your wants nearly made you deranged. People grow and they change; it's especially true For me ever since I was finally free. So how sad to discover it's not true for you, You're the same as you were, and as you'll always be. That's the person you are, who you've been since we met And it never caused issues until days of late. The things that you've said are things you will regret, Because I have no room for your envy-fueled hate. You've become quite the mean one - I'm sorry, it's true. You're no longer the person to whom I could turn. It's a shame (it's a **** shame), but yes, we are through. And it will not be me who is nursing the burn. Maybe one day you'll change, and we might reunite. I'm not getting my hopes up - there's danger in that. Until then, I hope you learn to treat people right, Because no one desires to stand by a brat. Maybe I am the first to address how you are, But I won't be the last, and this, I can assure. Your poignant self-righteousness won't get you far, And I'm sorry - for your case, there isn't a cure. So remember me now; you'll remember me then, When you lose all those who used to stand at your side. You'll remember the disrespect you showed your friend, For alas, she won't be there, holding you as you cry.

My ascent into adulthood was just that, an ascent. It has come slowly with little consistency and massive amounts of determination, stamina, and a reassuring trust in the universe. But the idea of adulthood has slipped its way into my expanding comfort zone with ease, which I think has come from the preparation I received throughout my childhood. The importance of perseverance and hard work in achieving anything at all was beyond emphasized in the parenting techniques of my immigrant mother and father. They sent the babies straight from their unemployed bellies into the best forms of higher education they could find because My achieving of adulthood was more of just a gradual shift in mentality and perspective that developed into my addiction to change and new experiences, distaste for dependence, and denial of my previous nostalgic tendencies. With more maturity also came a more logical understanding of the world around me. The more I understood the working ways of my surroundings, physical and psychological, the better I could feel my drive to achieve. The achievement I sought was not economic or career oriented in any aspect. It was based off of my ceaseless search for something new or for the rad or for the gnar or for swagger or for living a life that could inspire a minimum of 3 people including myself. The seed of this search was planted in me during my childhood by my five older siblings who all held within their bellies a fire of the same breed.

9/11 birthday
We’re looking into each other’s eyes; it’s 4am. We’re sat in a hospital room, I’m reciting your favourite verse. You’re ragged and stitched together; I just wish it was from being loved. I just wish my love could make you Real. I knew from day one, no one and no thing, not even love, could take you away and finally set your soul free. So I gave you all of me. It wasn’t hard to give away. Within moments of witnessing your smile; the one held in your eyes widening your stare, you crushed through my ribs with warmth and love, held my heart in your hand, promising no matter the distance and land between us, my heart would remain safe – beneath your bruised chest. Tonight, I’m alone. It’s been 17 days since I last saw you. I’m in the park where we always walked, where our love was made tangible by etchings in wood. The bark now crumbles and the decay mirrors the gradual corrosion of what was once, and will never be, again. © Sia Jane

Wednesday's Child
This harbour was made by art and force. And called Kingstown and afterwards Dun Laoghaire. And holds the sea behind its barrier less than five miles from my house. Lord be with us say the makers of a nation. Lord look down say the builders of a harbour. They came and cut a shape out of ocean and left stone to close around their labour. Officers and their wives promenaded on this spot once and saw with their own eyes the opulent horizon and obedient skies which nine tenths of the law provided. And frigates with thirty-six guns, cruising the outer edges of influence, could idle and enter here and catch the tide of empire and arrogance and the Irish Sea rising and rising through a century of storms and cormorants and moonlight the whole length of this coast, while an ocean forgot an empire and the armed ships under it changed: to slime **** and cold salt and rust. City of shadows and of the gradual capitulations to the last invader this is the final one: signed in water and witnessed in granite and ugly bronze and gun-metal. And by me. I am your citizen: composed of your fictions, your compromise, I am a part of your story and its outcome. And ready to record its contradictions.

The Harbour
I don't know what to say right now. The simplicity of this page haunts me It's too easy I'm used to more options Endless confusion Charts spotted with lines and dots and angles and rights and wrongs and yes's and no's Mazes with corners and rigid edges like life is allowed to be put into boxes like breaths and thoughts and the surface of tears dripping like melting glass from an eyelash are meant to be stuffed into sharpness without the blessing of shadows not gradual like the snap of electricity through an outlet frying all the atoms in its path. I'm cold, it's dark, I whisper.

There is a ladder that I climb And climb I shall through all of time The wood is rough and splintery And so the task is hard, you see And as I climb my arms grow weak My bones, like the rungs, bend and creak Sometimes resolve abandons me My head goes down and I can't see When climbing in this careless way I lose my hold and slip away So, quickly I fall ten feet down I tell myself to not look down I grab hold of the rung again Then meditate and rest my chin The rung has now a coat of slime It feels I'll slip another time I push the thought out of my head For if I fall, then I'll be dead I wipe away the dreadful slime And climb again, step at a time And though the top I'll never see, I keep my gaze ahead of me. "Why do you climb", a man once asked "...If you cannot complete the task?" "There are two worlds", I said to him "...And one of them is filled with sin Within that world, you'll find no light Your soul is bound by fear and spite In the other, you can see Your heart's made whole and you are free The line between these worlds is broad That is the world on which we trod But even here amidst our strife You'll find there are two sides of life We start between and go one way By choices we make every day This road we take is gradual We slowly fall as blinded fools Unless we climb the other way And so please hear these things I say As I climb, the light gets brighter And the load on me becomes much lighter The truth's revealed and my heart made full As I climb away from sin's dark rule So, where's this ladder that I climb? He's here; take hold. He's yours and mine"

Drift Noun A slow and gradual movement or change from one place, condition, etc. to another Drifting Verb The ********* feeling in the world It’s like, were still friends but we’re transitioning into acquaintances, maybe even strangers in the near future Daily conversations start to get rusty And every word said feels like so much effort Real talk, becomes small talk, and soon, maybe even no talk Maybe we’ve just exhausted the list of things to talk about And you know everything you wanted to know about me and I know everything I wanted to know about you Or maybe you’ve reached your word limit or something, I don’t really know But what most people don’t know about drifting is that Drifting can be a one sided process Like I’m here freaking out about our friendship and how we haven’t talked in days And you're just there, probably not even noticing that we haven’t had a single conversation If our friendship was a group work I’d be that person doing everything, trying to fix things, putting so much effort And you’re the one who seenzones the facebook group chat It’s like we were on boats and suddenly a current rips us apart and if you just pull me in your boat everything will be okay But no, the current is pulling me away from you and I am using all my strength to paddle back to you And you don’t even notice and you even find the time to take a swim Our friendship was a rubberband You were holding one end, I was holding the other, The rubberband stretched as the friendship grew, it got tighter and tighter and suddenly, you decided that rubber bands weren't cool so you let go and i got slapped in the face by our friendship It’s like wanting to chase you, but not wanting to chase you Because it can come off as clingy It’s like wanting to talk to you but I don’t because I don’t want to disturb you and that ***** cos you're the only one I want to talk to but I'm probably not the one you want to talk to so I just scratch the idea out of my head and think of another way to talk to the person I once had endless conversations with the hardest part in drifting is deciding what to do should I let go? Because they say that drifting is just a sign from God that you’ve learned everything you can from that person, right And if I do let you go and we’re meant to stay friends aren’t we eventually going to find our way back to each other? Or should I hold on, on this one-sided stretched rubberband of ours and try to fix something that might not even be broken in your eyes

My darling. How exquisite it is that we happen To exist in the same dimension. I suppose tonight is one where the emptiness Has begun its gradual descent Choosing to take my feelings with it. How do I feel? Well, I certainly wish that You could be lying next to me to comfort me While I float to the endless bottom of this abyss. I wish for a night with your presence So close that I can see the graceful Rise and fall of your chest signaling The constant of life that we all know as breathing. But when the trivial task is completed by you The world in my eyes seems to play in slow motion. Utterly fascinated by your inner workings and inhibitions. What ethereal source have you successfully stolen, To channel the charisma overflowing within your personality I wonder if you’re aware of your prominent title as my inspiration. You have a way with the universe that I crave to imitate. Or perhaps just to steal for a temporary bliss. If you were next to me, there would be no reason for my Uncontrollable fear, your wisely crafted logic would leave it behind. Perhaps the allure is found beyond the masquerade. The night sky reflects the mystique of your appeal. Here’s to a beautiful eternity, may it never fade. May the forever’s be found in the way we feel.

Dear darling.
I To-night, a first movement, a pulse, As if the rain in bogland gathered head To slip and flood: a bog-burst, A **** breaking open the ferny bed. Your back is a firm line of eastern coast And arms and legs are thrown Beyond your gradual hills. I caress The heaving province where our past has grown. I am the tall kingdom over your shoulder That you would neither cajole nor ignore. Conquest is a lie. I grow older Conceding your half-independent shore Within whose borders now my legacy Culminates inexorably. II And I am still imperially Male, leaving you with pain, The rending process in the colony, The battering ram, the boom burst from within. The act sprouted an obsinate fifth column Whose stance is growing unilateral. His heart beneath your heart is a wardrum Mustering force. His parasitical And ignorant little fists already Beat at your borders and I know they're cocked At me across the water. No treaty I foresee will salve completely your tracked And stretchmarked body, the big pain That leaves you raw, like opened ground, again

don't call out her name she will not there is a hole in the bottle a blanket on the floor the hallway isn't empty shoes scatter when they fall don't turn at the corner or start towards the door the light from the window never reaches very far shadows cast the grey the grey narrows to a point meaningless gradual losses have taken her astray don't turn away you can't reach her anymore

a blanket on the floor
Chained down against this concrete floor I can’t... They scream, covering distant laughter Pulsating sensations coursing within Built up bursting flames Look around to find one soul Choked sobs are always shouting The blinding light is forever dark All alone without mercy Infected wounds constantly bleeding Quiet words that are loudly spoken Silent pleads Evil spirit claim thee No more forgotten pain or lingering poison Instigated reason of blocked feeling Stay here, don’t leave Breathe in these deadly fumes Stale smoke floods these lungs Gradual ascension broken by awakening blows Holding back malevolent tears Sit still as fear settles, picking you apart Enough games! Rise again Fragile frame with an unknown name Carry on and burn true Tread lightly and live long Fight hard and release temptation Be remembered Promise me... Don’t Let Go

Promise
From dewy dreams, my soul, arise, From love's deep slumber and from death, For lo! the treees are full of sighs Whose leaves the morn admonisheth. Eastward the gradual dawn prevails Where softly-burning fires appear, Making to tremble all those veils Of grey and golden gossamer. While sweetly, gently, secretly, The flowery bells of morn are stirred And the wise choirs of faery Begin (innumerous!) to be heard.

We Kissed
you came to me in the first dewdrops of spring with the scent of newleaf lingering on your lips and the taste of fresh rosebuds and honeysuckle a mere whisper on my tongue your kiss the heat of summer sunlight blistering against my skin and ripping my throat open in a blaze of inferno heaven knows how you quell the flames with the same brush of lips against mine you dance forever in my mind’s eye on dappled autumn leaves with the swirl of the breeze tousling in your hair a symphony of red yellow brown and glittering eyes footsteps going crunch crunch crunch over the carpet of my heart your goodbye is the wind that whips through my eternal winter as the snow settles in the silent solstice i crave crave crave crave the fervent heat once more just once more REPEAT. cyclic cyclic cyclic as i fall in love with you all over again. (like the mist that rolls in with the first snow that tumbles like waves from the sky/like the budding of the flowers in the garden and the fallen petals beneath your soles/like the gradual melt of ice cream onto sticky fingers and stained flip-flops/like the green fading into a myriad of blossoming colour the facade of beauty disguising slow death) baby, you break my heart slow

season
Its back, And I wish I could say For one night only, But the forecast shows A messy week ahead of me. Every day The sun will burn bright And a cool wind will Bite my cheeks. Every night The sun will set Like God dropped a bowling ball And storm clouds Will come rolling in. The thunder will be deafening With no lightning To illuminate the blackness. The rain will come in Big, heavy drops All at once. No gradual crescendo. No calming patter on rooftops. Only a roar at my window That will ****** me To open it. In the rumble I can hear a whisper Begging me to open The floodgates and let the rain Come rushing into my room. Let it rise Up the walls Until I'm kissing the ceiling Then sink to my bed, Feeling content with my efforts. I wrap the covers Around me and lay my head down, Passive to the water Filling my lungs. Comfortable in my Burial at sea. Don't worry though, My room is still dry And the window is closed. But the latches are loose And I'm not quick to repair.

Because I could not draft for Ice, it did kindly draft for me. Does the Ice make you shiver? does it? Pay attention to the chill, the chill is the most shivering fear of all. Down, down, down into the darkness of the chill, Gently it goes - the chill, the trembling, the unsteady. A thawing, however hard it tries, Will always be Melting. Does the thawing make you shiver? does it? The big winter sings like a Sun is directly above the Tropic of Capricorn Now cosmic is just the thing, To get me wondering if the winter is mature. wooly glaciers sings like Iceburgs "Rushing water", said the glaciers, And "rushing water" then "rushing water" again. How happy is the frozen popsicle! Does the popsicle make you shiver? does it? The freezing that's really crystals, Above all others is the frost. Does the frost make you shiver? does it? Because I could not draft for Ice, it did kindly draft for me. Does the Ice make you shiver? does it? Because I could not draft for Ice, it did kindly draft for me. Ice, Ice, every where, Yet not a drop to draft. How happy is the cold surface! Down, down, down into the darkness of the surface, Gently it goes - the perfect, the gelid, the stone-cold. Pay attention to the floe, the floe is the most Dence ice mass of all. Floe, floe, every where, Yet not a drop to drift. The thawing is like a gentle voice, it tends to cause significantly. Does the thawing make you shiver? does it? The athletic game that's really zany, Above all others is the hockey. Pause to assist, like the hockey does. It does assist, it does draft, Should it also induct? Why would you think the snowfall is gradual? the snowfall is the most sudden downfall of all. Pause to last, like the snowfall does. It does last, it does accumulate, Should it also range? I saw the the antarctic installation of my generation destroyed, How I mourned the water. I don't like the fact that it, learned to reside before it knew how to flow. You can reside, you can flow, but can you supply? Because I could not draft for Ice, it did kindly draft for me. Does the Ice make you shiver? does it? Because I could not draft for Ice, it did kindly draft for me. Pause to draft, like the Ice does. Don't belive that the snowfall is small? the snowfall is big beyond belief. Never forget the braggy and large-scale snowfall. Pay attention to the cold, the cold is the most wintry respiratory disease of all. Are you upset by how springlike it is? Does it tear you apart to see the cold so frozen? I saw the the little demoralize of my generation destroyed, How I mourned the chill. Now small-scale is just the thing, To get me wondering if the chill is trivial. An iceman, however hard it tries, Will always be cunning. Are you upset by how adroit it is? Does it tear you apart to see the iceman so attractive? I saw the the Frozen excretion of my generation destroyed, How I mourned the water. Never forget the sleety and unchangeable water. Pay attention to the freeze, the freeze is the most Frozen fractals act of all. Does the freeze make you shiver? does it? Because I could not draft for Ice, they did kindly draft for me. Do Ice make you shiver? do they?

Ice
This moment wont last forever I know it well. I feel it fading. It rushes through my fingers like grains of sand; But, I enjoy the sensation. A beginning cannot be celebrated without an end, and A life cannot be cherished, unless it it lived. That is why I treasure them. This moment, and, all the moments we have together. I don't think I would love you as much without the setting of a thousand hours, hours we spent with one another, hanging like a starry backdrop, behind your head. All this time, has embossed you onto my heart. Pressed down like a stamp, gradual but essential. Now, you are part of who I am. And so is this time, together, right now. I know this moment wont last forever, but- That is what makes it special.

Beloved Hourglass
Nothing I do is good enough for you I hate myself Wipe the table clean with tears and tissue All I am is deficit to you My worthlessness Another mouth to feed We are each over-expectant Hoping for the incredible Imagining more than what we’re served Denying reality Each destroyers Of our own dreams The moral compass Keeps teetering towards disaster Not-so-distant past lingers I want to go back to my own people But my own people don’t exist anymore Except in cartoon version Everything is collapsing fast Nothing is gradual When did the present Overstay its welcome? I am desolate dictator Of empty room What do you do with your scabs? Not the little flakey ones I mean the big chunky crusty ones? I throw them in pan and sauté them With olive oil, onion salt, a little pablano pepper Serve them to myself and ghost dog

I can tell you what it is, that feeling but before, I must let you know I have dusty corners that need to be fixed from floor to ceiling now in this room there is no use in stealing its not gradual, look in my eyes in one second if i allow it, you will know the meaning in my hands, beneath my palms there is a pounding as water embraces the ocean, can you feel yourself drowning trembling I hold it out of my chest my hands are dripping in blood, and right now I cannot tell you the rest here we don't use words, because there is no use for them once they told me ..... but I refuse to believe that, although I find trouble convincing myself - no they are lies a lingering whisper that comes to me occasionally tells me otherwise that little girl that lingered in the open spaces with her nerves she traces symbolic memoirs of something fading I went downtown just to go downtown, no reason in particular , days like those I cherish the beauty of solitude and city lights after I got to the mountains I blushed to myself when they came to say hi this isn't were I belong do I seem like an open book I am an open book but only the right eyes can read its invisible words that were written with the happiness of few things -- and the pain of many many things behind my words there is a calling read between the lines, can you feel yourself falling slowly now I feel your wounds healing I can show you what it is, that feeling but before I must let you know, I have dusty corners that must be fixed from floor to ceiling.
