"gliding" poems
Gliding deftly along the city street rolling quick and constantly onward to some unknown scene, some backward park in the nighttime smoke curling from these parted lips, moist and inviting calling me somewhere I've never seen. New day, new night new feelings, rage in delight fill me with your hilarious entropy, knock my quarks into the next century, will you please? Now you're smoking the pipe and all at once you are free between you and me, this smoke is thicker and sticks like glue, wispy and dreamy and the world spins and calls Toltec telephone company can't pay me for all those calls collected and rendered obsolete Sun god dead as that silly calendar meme Amaterasu, and Imma tell you these ladies in the picnic table buried alive for boxed lunch and god's brunch Jesus ******* Christ and a indelible roster of good guys, to which we all must strive to live and die behind, never moving forward chasing our tails like a sick dog under the jasmine runner between the decades-old tanbark imported from overseas dead trees dead canine and oh isn't it just divine? You see it, pretty lady. I can see it hiding behind your eyes the things you don't tell the others because you're afraid if they found out, you'd be crucified. Well honey I hate to inform, With KGB efficiency that these love-a-dumbs aint Methuselah, they'll be dead! long before your flood of tears tears me from the land ballistas me across the great expanse to some strange Ararat of the eastern seaboard, or maybe wash me deep along the 80 into the desert sands and tiles on a leaky cell phone screen desperately trying to dial home on low battery, realizing all this was one big deferred dream, baking in the sun and shriveling oh well, back to the grindstone-- all those lies plucked your nose, gotta cut it back to size, 'else your soul it'll outgrow Don't worry honey bee It hasn't happened to me, and We know with calcuable mathematical truth that it'll never happen to you.

For my cousin, Chris Goldrick Lacing my skates after walking two miles in girl-strictured delight Mom's stories of Sonja Henie-- No, not ever Lacing my skates with  snow-ball pompoms felt skirt and nylon tights Cute little hat with matching scarf My thighs and fingers already freezing icy burn from miles on foot to get there the lake where-- I must get out I must get OUT! Knowing what to expect from my body the quick-twitch of muscle Could always sense specific-- gravity of water     at 22 degrees Desiring to feel the motion between ice and steel Read speed's vibrations through my body The brain registers relation to weather's effect Tell of velocity possibility of fall Feel the slash of the blades beneath me Throw my weight sideways, sudden to hear that furious hiss An object in motion tending, dire to stay in motion Threatening to stay there always in its heights-- of speed away-- from the crowds of skaters swirling distant in the lights Seeking instead the farthest reaches of Porter Lake speed and speed and more to overcome inertia of what it is to become undone at the outer edges, of humanity A force centrifugal unto myself Avoiding Pregnant and slow with years and babes.... *My moon drips silver; Gliding from its craters, flown Across galaxies Alien beings Stare at its state; leaking a Peak at what it is But the moon's just the Moon to us; nothing more than A dab to the sky How I wonder the Way y'all see it tonight; can You find the beauty?* ~Or is it just the moon?~

Soul
What is Beauty? Is not the soul creator of beautiful? If so, why are people with souls not so beautiful sometimes? Is it this flesh that gets in the way, fighting to show us our ugliness? Beauty is not seen as much it is realized. Beauty is not the eyes but how the eyes perceive. Beauty is not the mouth by how the lips are used. Beauty is not the hands but how the hands are guided; softly and gliding or harsh and punishing. Beauty is not speaking hard to weakness, but kindness that holds up the weak members. Beauty is seeing through the roughness; Seeing through the pain; Seeing through the sins; Seeing past our ugliness, (cause we all have it). Beauty is not the piano but the music it makes. Beauty is the light we see in the darkness. Beauty is the hope in Heaven. Beauty is not any of us, lest we have our eyes washed with salvation, in order to see Beauty in others. What is Beauty? Beauty is the inside of what creates it. Sean 7/30/2012

Beauty
In a playful vision sent Your ****** homologue Of amber shins and pale phalanges Weaves four-leaved clovers. In response, ***** spurs And protean winged descent To float into your kaleidoscopic star: Gliding, Freely falling, To rest in lace extremities. There in our bed of sensual feet, Sunflowers breath, Whose burnished rotating petals Gather me in wisps, Each spiral frond, Gyring Before death's voids Is drawn in purls. And in pleasures held, Cossetted in latticed limbs, A ***** lustrous rich embrace; Denuded and alive! And with abandon kissed:     Bony toes     Tendons     Deep arches     Shins     Ankles,     Sweetmeats,     Light and delicate. As here between pretty shins And fleshy silken feet Our ascent begins Rising, From low regions, To scale new night, And crown our heights. This lovers' leap into prismatic reproduction In the empty Cosmic wastes      In a web is caught! Where feet and toes inspire Continuity for pointed stars. As material possibilities collide The lust for life Is born in non-existence: So in our nest of feet, Mating in the game With heads thrown back, Of lust drink deeply we.

#*Nightbird perches high beneath the shooting stars that dapple the bouquet     of sleepless peace ... his soft downy breast           has lent breath to the sweet April afterglow      heaving with song The mystical feathered troubadour's      swooning echo A melodic twilight serenade conjures a moonstruck metamorphosis, sprouting magical wings of flight;* rousing *a lonely heart's esprit      to fly away unfettered      in constellations of song How dare imaginings spilled from the big dipper enchant such an enrapturing magic spell? . In a costume of conflicting emotion, of crossing diamondic colour, with regal posture in grief, the Harlequin and the King, a display of opposites creating a composite being, that eases her body gently into the waiting water, to float away serene, on her journey to the nether. Midnight blue and emerald green, the regalia of ermine, both ostentatious and humble, robeing the aspects, understated in crowning splendour, the gentleman King bows, and the Harlequin laughs, the bi-polar reaction to the tragedy of misfortune, with a sting in the myth-tale. With the dark hues of mourning, a legend passes on her way, across the streams of time, on a voyage to discover herself, carrying her Harlequin in a purse, holding her King to her breast, owning them both in her heart, the medicine wheel spins, knowing the grapes of wrath yield the wine of spite. The motley speckles of attire, a starry parody of night skies, lighting the decorated funeral barge, gliding along the rivers of space, worn with the mantle of sorrow, and it sails into the sunset, as the Harlequin and King observe, the mandala turns, the bier of the Queen departing, bears their sadness forth. The Harlequin laughs and laughs 'til he cries, his heart grows cold, then withers and dies, whilst the King, statuesque, memoirs his life, lamenting the legend of a Queen, his wife. © Pagan Paul (24/07/18)

Mediaeval Myth Lamenting Legend
Goodnight green eyes, Your dreams await you in Silver-Lined skies, Dreams of dragons, and fairies, and me, and hopefully just a touch of mystery. The sliding colors slipping silently through silky seas, gliding gracefully over gallant gull wings, whisking you away with a gentle breeze. You see dragons and pirates, fairies and gypsies, tricksy little gnomes, and flamboyant pixies, you see them all tucking away, hiding in there homes as their thoughts start to stray. and as you glide gracefully over the sea, your thoughts start to wonder what tomorrow will be, will there be adventures or heart ache and loss, or maybe even a romp through the moss, you might not know now, but theres something you do, that someone you love, is waiting for you.

Skiing Means the World to Me
Last night I cried myself to sleep thinking about you, the ********** chemistry that we used to share over the midnight campfire, our sleek bodies rising in passion with each bursting flame, deep shifting fingers pressed up against thick sheets, as our ankles and thighs harmonized and smiled, glossy green eyes filled with lust and immense thoughts.  Your soul was calling out to me in the nighttime sky, vibrant skin sifting inside timeless climaxes and rewinds, shimmering lights and hypnotic gleams, an ocean of water and poetry gliding on booming beats.  The world began to sink inside our romance, the horniness of our hot flesh sizzling in sparking temptations, deep designs and glimmering patterns.  And as our nations made music over earth’s creation, brilliant escapes and captivating depths, you were the magnificent star inside my kingdom, the purest existence that could illuminate the fire inside eyes.

********** Chemistry
The ocean, oh it looked so blue, shades of colour swimming around like clouds around the moon, The water, oh it looked so clean, but it was just the sun's reflection making it clear, Underneath the waves lay a graveyard, a promise of death, a promise of extinction, Tombs made of plastic, slathered in oil, steaming with toxic waste, and all the people know, The damage is unfolding faster than we are evolving, The turtles are ingesting plastic as if it were their only meal, begging for their fins to just be free, so they can dive through the sea, The seals are tangled in nets, lines and lures, plastic bags and packing bands, till they're tied to their grave as if life were just a brief phase, The seabirds skim the ocean waves for fish and squid, yet plastic is their only catch of the day, leaving them broken inside and out, and dead on the beaches we claim are our own, The whales are submerged beneath the sea, eating most things that they see, plastic, plastic everywhere beneath, not giving them much time before they can no longer breathe, The dolphins are gliding through the sea, taking what they can to eat, plastic as their only meal, tearing them apart from within, leaving them starving for weeks, till the grave is the only thing they see, Us humans are so weak, we can’t see how deep the pain seeps, but when nothing is left for us to eat, and the rich have nothing left to steal, we’ll end in the same graves as all the lives we could have healed.

The oceans and the seas
Think of me, just my tongue gliding from the bottom to the very tip, Dreaming only of a tasteful sip Under the table If I'm able To catch just a simple drip.

In a Bored Meeting (Limerick)
*Once there stood a Sailor, Tall and Bold he was, Upon the waves was his home, Eye of the storm he was. Some called him Charming, Cindrella was in love, Sindbad wanted a friend SnowWhite could'nt succumb. Jasmine searched the seven seas To bring him back to ground, And Alladin pushed him underneath Hoping he'll fall. But there stood a Mermaid, Upon a stubborn rock, Her eyes were like wet sand Her nose a pebble soft, She lured the hearty sailor, Into the sea so dark, Hoping he would see a world Where he never had to stop, Hoping he would call it home, His home upon the rocks. He wore his mighty hat aboard, Underneath he was at flight, Fought the world of challenges, With his awe-some sight, To all he was a Sailor, A person in disguise, Wid arms like boulders And chest fierce But light..* *You would ask What's their story, Well here goes, It might be right, But Sailor met the Mermaid, Mermaid fell in love, Love is what sailed along, Under the waves of lust, In a world so arid It turned hearts dry, He searched for a place to swim Where he could also fly, He swam with the mermaid Into the glassy **** Glossy waters And coral reefs, After years of gliding by He decided to stop, Not to make him stop, the Mermaid cried a lot.. The sailor found a new place, A place called a 'Road', She thought their adventure was over, And the Sailor was lost, She tried to tell him, Asked him to stop, For she was no longer she, Plural now she was, She cudnt tell him For he was in a hurry, And about everything He forgot.. But alas! Was she happy She saw the Sailor pray, The prayer wasnt an ordinary one He wanted for her to stay, He'd seen Her world For years together, He now wanted her to see, His own world of wonders Above the choppy sea.. He prayed that She could Join him With no other blocks, The only thing he wanted..* "If only she could walk", *She cried and cried In the sea of course She knew that wasn't possible, She knew He was lost.. One morning she woke up Washed up on the shore, The sea no longer wanted her She was thrown. She'd seen the seas too much, Now it was time for her to go, To Walk with the Sailor With new legs, aboard. Happiness got the best of her,Tears would'nt stop, He caught her arms, Pulled her up, And showed her how to walk.* *She told him he had to love her, And two other people too, The Sailor was astonished He dint know what to do! A few days later He did understand, They were now four, A bundle of all, Joy had at last rejoiced! He gave her a pearl, From the very sea she came from, To remind her of That world, She accepted and Now they were one mind, A family, One of a kind..*

but the other day i was passing a certain gate, rain fell(as it will in spring) ropes of silver gliding from sunny thunder into freshness as if god’s flowers were pulling upon bells of gold i looked up and thought to myself Death and will You with elaborate fingers possibly touch the pink hollyhock existence whose ***** eyes look from morning till night into the street unchangingly the always old lady sitting in her gentle window like a reminiscence partaken softly at whose gate smile always the chosen flowers of reminding

But The Other
Sara L Russell, 19/12/14 00:58am White gulls fly against darkness of winter trees swirling in a reeling easterly; bare branches stand in earthbound traceries behind the birds that dance weightless and free. There is a rhythm in this circling flight. a lazy, slightly tipsy minuet; a majesty in gliding wings of white, a sign that better times are coming yet. The dew has barely faded on the green, two fountains bend before the icy breeze, as seagulls, with a grace I've rarely seen swirl heavenward, like flights of fantasies.

Winter Seagulls at Chartham Park
Everybody wants to be, loved somewhere, somehow internally. Everyone's trying with heart , To be so the same, or be so apart. looking for love, in all the wrong places. gliding through applications; rejecting, accepting, based just on their faces. Denying love , Defying love, and simply not trying love. but its tough to be loved in the this day and age; because we judge people on how they look on a page. Alas.. Everybody wants to be, loved somewhere, somehow internally.

Hymn to Aphrodite by Sappho loose translation/interpretation by Michael R. Burch Immortal Aphrodite, throned in splendor! Wile-weaving daughter of Zeus, enchantress, and beguiler! I implore you, dread mistress, discipline me no longer with love's anguish! But come to me once again in kindness, heeding my prayers as you have done before; O, come Divine One, descend once again from heaven's golden dominions! Your chariot yoked to love's consecrated doves, their multitudinous pinions aflutter, you once came gliding from the utmost heights, to the dark-bosomed earth. Swiftly they came and vanished, leaving you, O my Goddess, smiling, your face eternally beautiful, asking me what unfathomable longing compelled me to cry out. Asking me what I sought in my hopeless, bewildered desire. Asking, "Who has harmed you, why are you so alarmed, my poor Sappho? Whom should Persuasion summon here?" "Though today she flees love, soon she will pursue you; spurning love's gifts, soon she shall return them; tomorrow she will woo you, however unwillingly!" Come to me now, most Holy Aphrodite! Release me from my heavy heartache and anguish; grant me all I request, be once again my ally and protector! "Hymn to Aphrodite" is the only poem by Sappho of ****** to survive in its entirety. The poem survived intact because it was quoted in full by Dionysus, a Roman orator, in his "On Literary Composition," published around 30 B.C. A number of Sappho's poems mention or are addressed to Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of love. It is believed that Sappho may have belonged to a cult that worshiped Aphrodite with songs and poetry. If so, "Hymn to Aphrodite" may have been composed for performance within the cult. We do know that Sappho was held in very high regard. For instance, when Sappho visited Syracuse the residents were so honored they erected a statue to commemorate the occasion! During Sappho's lifetime, coins of ****** were minted with her image. Furthermore, Sappho was called "the Tenth Muse" and the other nine were goddesses. Smooth as silk on soft crimson sheets Sliding and gliding in unison Rhythmic hearts beating Nothing in comparison The heat splashes in waves Our minds in a daze Lost in intertwined bodies Skin on skin, lips on lips Tongues soothing like wine Electricity at our finger tips Wrapped up and warm But oh so paralyzed Lost in the others eyes Totally hypnotized Dancing to our own beat Singing our own ****** tune Words all spicy and sweet The ending will come too soon The beat gets faster, we move as a whole Locked together as one soul Sweating, panting, barely able to breathe Eyes lock, arm tightens Sensations move as a prefect one Space around sudden lightens The dream is finally done
