The ultimate Dragon Poem and a childhood favourite of mine which still sends shivers to this day... Puff, the magic dragon lived by the sea And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honahlee Little Jackie paper loved that rascal puff And brought him strings and sealing wax and other fancy stuff oh Puff, the magic dragon lived by the sea And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honahlee Puff, the magic dragon lived by the sea And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honahlee Together they would travel on a boat with billowed sail Jackie kept a lookout perched on puff's gigantic tail Noble kings and princes would bow whene'er they came Pirate ships would lower their flag when puff roared out his name oh Puff, the magic dragon lived by the sea And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honahlee Puff, the magic dragon lived by the sea And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honahlee A dragon lives forever but not so little boys Painted wings and giant rings make way for other toys One grey night it happened, Jackie Paper came no more And puff that mighty dragon, he ceased his fearless roar His head was bent in sorrow, green scales fell like rain Puff no longer went to play along the cherry lane Without his life-long friend, puff could not be brave So Puff that mighty dragon sadly slipped into his cave oh Puff, the magic dragon lived by the sea And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honahlee Puff, the magic dragon lived by the sea And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honahlee

We embarked upon a titanic voyage to a new world. It’s said that behind every great man there's a great woman; But a woman needs a man like a fish needs a bicycle. 7 bells rang late that night, as our ship stuck fast; between the devil and the deep blue sea. Fingers frantic! tapping code…—-… Sailors quickly battened down the hatches and stowed away the Riff-raff, for they knew fine words would butter no parsnips, Better here than there in third class. Some fiddlers on the deck played “Nearer My God to Thee", As the bubbles rose from beneath the sea, come buckle down boys for the devils to pay, come hell or high water he’ll have his pay. Mothers row, land lubbers row, it's time to leave this god forsaken place. pulling hard for freedom. Ten steel decks split and snap, as they join the ***** and hundreds either shriek or pray; as La dolce vita slowly ebbed away. Mercifully the cacophony descends ever silent, as fifteen hundred souls become neither fish nor flesh, rotting from the head down. Save our souls •••- - - •••. … — …

Gigantic
Why, when I know she doesn't notice me, like me back, or even realizes I'm a living, breathing being? Why, when I just end up hurt as the sun touches lips with the moon and stars? Why must I allow little butterflies, pink purple green yellow red black blue gray, to flutter inside your stomach? As if my breakfast this morning was trying to tell me something. I can't control myself, I can't control my emotion: Love, Hate, Jealousy. They spill out of my heart, pour into my mind, changing the way I think, live life, act and behave, my personality; A broken version of who I am, who I really am. Or was. So yes, I have a crush. Because there's something with it, something that is so... a d d i c t i n g. The pain I'm anticipating, Being hurt as constantly as the moon changes its face. A constant flare of excitement, being able to look at her face again and Hope. Hope to be able to get that face time with her. Even if her time is mine no more, (it never was) as others are her time now. But I want to be happy (at least appear that way) in front of her so she too can flash her pearly whites as her eyes wrinkle from a wide grin, sometimes a tear rolling down her soft smooth cheeks from too much laughing. All these presents wrapped nice and tight in one gigantic wrapping of Disappointment. And rightfully so, now that the happy holidays are upon us.

Why have a Crush?
Nothing will come between us A solid still flows through the gap Our candle remains lit for eternity Why would anyone try to blow out the candle? It isn't an ordinary candle This candle, anything it can handle Gigantic cockroaches threaten its flame How come this flame has not gone out? Darkness surrounds the object Nothing can stop it, not even the dust it collects People puff with all their breath Our flame will never go out

The Candle
Back & forth the waves roll in Challenging the beach The foaming surf offers up a dream That so far is out of reach I wish I could live among the waves Like the seal that I've just seen Without a care for what comes next Or for what has ever been To swim among gigantic whales Majestic in their song Content with life - to carry on Knowing they belong To fly up high above the swell Like the seagulls do Playing in the clouds of spray They all know the truth Happiness is a gift That we can not take for granted In the profoundness of the ocean Seeds of hope will now be planted Back & forth the waves roll in Their cycle never ends My life continues to evolve The sea will help me mend (C) Pixievic 2016

Money Talks and what it said back then on the railway bridge at Bloomfield Road (no longer there of course) was "You can spare me – it means only one less penny ice lolly from the corner shop !" (no longer there of course) and the train will make me huge (steam no longer here of course) and the others will laugh and cheer as you scramble down to the line place me centred and climb back up here again before the train shoots through to Central Station (no longer there of course). Gigantic copper-coloured disc and this recall. Still talking half a century after. (c) C J Heyworth August 2014

Elephant in the room, shoo the hell away! Don't stick around; I wish you wouldn't stay Don't mess with my head, inciting all I feel I don't need you here, I want to heal Stop blaring in my ears, your noxious lies I'm sick to the stomach with my pathetic cries Resist flapping your gigantic ears They simply just fan the rage in my tears Quit blocking my view with your sheer enormity Get out of my thoughts so better I could see Halt your incessant skin rubbing against my sores Chafing me raw on top of my existing scores Pull out your pointy tusks, they poke and jab I'm bent in many places; I don't need more stabs Take your infernal rear out of my face! I'm self-destructing, counting up the days Cease your retaliation, leave with no protest Go find and sit yourself in someone else's nest Drop your intentions to stomp me broken I'm mangled enough; almost misshapen End this mindless rampage...please Let me iron myself straight, in peace... Dear elephant, have you gone? Thank you for the blight of my time, you've spawned

The old pond
Cast out were his alien dreams; Aspiring and confident he did leave. Fiery ground of thunder burnt his home; As he alone cast out for that void, perceived through his singular glass dome. Adventure had caught him lonely But peering out from his craft his pupils did glow! Circling fiery molecules hovering to and fro! How could he now transmit and show Reflection of scale small and macro! Fumbling, his fingers did try To articulate the machines Imprinted of his native language. "Calling Cpt. Crow!" Sending the signal the results did show A break in the wire and a fuse did blow. Barricading that soul far and deep, A minuscule solar flare Emanating a glow! And from that earth looked upward team and crew Saw idle in that gigantic void a singular golden hue Distant but true was the connection they all knew.

You've always been in my heart Where you've stayed since the beginning You're like a little sister to me Like the twinkling stars are to the beautiful sky Like the driftwood is to tiptoe across Like the romantic couples are to sandy beach strolls Like the glowing campfires are to cooling nights Like the soft music is from crashing waves Like the white seashells are to listening ears Like the gigantic ships are to the rolling sea Like the wiggling fish are to the squawking seagulls Like hungry people are to their picnic lunches Like the playful families are to the never-ending coast Like all eyes are to the breath-taking view Like the smiling faces are to the digital cameras Like the crying children are to their tearful goodbyes You're like a little sister to me We've always been, one way or another, the best of friends, And we'll forever be, until the end   Copyright 2014; Sabrina Denise Healey,   ~Angelmom~

A Poem About an ***
little goldfish, you are so small one tiny piece. in this gigantic place. little goldfish, you swim in the same circles. never going anywhere. little goldfish, why do you stare? your large eyes empty. drowning. little goldfish, you rise to the top only to find it hard to breathe. little goldfish, you swim to find there is nothing vast nothingness. water. just water. little goldfish, does it scare you? little goldfish, i wish i could take your bowl and throw you into the river. i wish i could throw you on land and watch you fade. little goldfish, your suffering would end. little goldfish, where is your mind?

When descends on the Atlantic The gigantic Storm-wind of the equinox, Landward in his wrath he scourges The toiling surges, Laden with seaweed from the rocks: From Bermuda’s reefs; from edges Of sunken ledges, In some far-off, bright Azore; From Bahama, and the dashing, Silver-flashing Surges of San Salvador; From the tumbling surf, that buries The Orkneyan skerries, Answering the hoarse Hebrides; And from wrecks of ships, and drifting Spars, uplifting On the desolate, rainy seas;— Ever drifting, drifting, drifting On the shifting Currents of the restless main; Till in sheltered coves, and reaches Of sandy beaches, All have found repose again. So when storms of wild emotion Strike the ocean Of the poet’s soul, erelong From each cave and rocky fastness, In its vastness, Floats some fragment of a song: From the far-off isles enchanted, Heaven has planted With the golden fruit of Truth; From the flashing surf, whose vision Gleams Elysian In the tropic clime of Youth; From the strong Will, and the Endeavor That forever Wrestle with the tides of Fate; From the wreck of Hopes far-scattered, Tempest-shattered, Floating waste and desolate;— Ever drifting, drifting, drifting On the shifting Currents of the restless heart; Till at length in books recorded, They, like hoarded Household words, no more depart.

MY MASK I was once sad and lonely, Having nobody to comfort me, So I wore a mask that always smiled; To hide my feelings behind this gigantic lie. Before long, I had many friends; With my mask, I was one of them. But deep inside, I still felt empty, As though I was missing a larger part of me. Nobody could hear my cries at night For I designed my mask to hide the lies. Nobody could see the pain I was feeling For I designed my mask to always be laughing. Behind all the smiles were the tears And behind all the comfort were the fears. Everything you think you see, Wasn't everything there was to me. Day by day, I was slowly dying. I couldn't go on, There was something missing.. Until now I am still searching For the one thing that'll stop my crying. For someone who'll erase my fears, For that person who'll wipe away my tears. But until then I'll keep on smiling. Hiding behind this mask I have learned to wear. Just hoping for the day I will be able to smile, Until then, I'll be right here hanging around for awhile.

The wheel of the quivering meat conception Turns in the void expelling human beings, Pigs, turtles, frogs, insects, nits, Mice, lice, lizards, rats, roan Racinghorses, poxy bucolic pigtics, Horrible unnameable lice of vultures, Murderous attacking dog-armies Of Africa, Rhinos roaming in the jungle, Vast boars and huge gigantic bull Elephants, rams, eagles, condors, Pones and Porcupines and Pills- All the endless conception of living beings Gnashing everywhere in Consciousness Throughout the ten directions of space Occupying all the quarters in & out, From supermicroscopic no-bug To huge Galaxy Lightyear Bowell Illuminating the sky of one Mind- Poor! I wish I was free of that slaving meat wheel and safe in heaven dead.

211th Chorus
To live life in its fullest To taste the grapes of joy To drink their wine in glasses To feel the sweet drops, And enjoy. To be enchanted, Drunken with delight, To see the brightness of the stars, During the dark, mysterious, cold night… I dream of happiness and laughter, Of rainbows shining in the sky I dream my tears are turning into roses. They're dropping on my pillow as I cry. I dream of green fields, and I'm running I feel the wind stroking my cheeks. It dries my tears and softly whispers: "You must break free of all your fears". I close my eyes and I am swallowed. Consumed, By a gigantic salty wave And I am floating, not resisting, I'm only trying to be brave… Inside the sea, deep in the darkness I see my past, my present and my dreams, And there's a voice, floating beside me, It tells me: "nothing's as it seems". At times I'm chocking, and I'm drowning I'm praying for the coziness of death, But when it doesn't come, I realize that All I need, Is a deep breath.

The farthest man made object in space, Voyager 1, is over 20 billion km away from Earth. On board is a phonograph record, brilliant gold, containing sounds and images of what life is like on earth, A message to whoever is able to listen, a literal shot in the dark. On it is an inscription that is perhaps the most beautiful sentence I have ever read TO THE MAKERS OF MUSIC ALL TIMES ALL WORLDS a time capsule, a gift, from us To anywhere and everywhere A hundred years from now or a thousand Our belief that no matter what time Or world you belong to, melody and harmony and rhythm, can bring us together, can communicate. On the cover Are figures, explaining how to operate this record Hieroglyphics from what by then Would be ancient history Messages in binary, the 1s and 0s Our position in the universe marked by our distances from gigantic pulsars, the star map to our home, the creators of this message There's beauty in this marriage of math and art Code and music As a way to communicate with the universe. Some of the images on the record are the most beautifully simple ones, Of us, humans, drinking and eating, laughing, of animals, nature, food and architecture. Then there are images of our scientific observations, mathematical calculations, our discoveries, Like a child showing off Look, look what I can do! Black and white and in colour, Pictures, proof that we, indeed have lived and achieved. The music, classical, our very best from Bach and Mozart to Blind Willie Johnson's Dark was the Night. But all of this can only matter, can come to fruition if someone exists to receive it, and is evolved enough to comprehend what it means. But that's the thing, everybody knows, That's there's a slim chance of this record ever being heard, and it's much more possible that the Voyager will simply end up as floating debris in the cosmos, but it doesn't matter! We just want someone to know that there was a species of bipedal, intelligent animals on this blue planet, no different than finding graffiti in alleys that read I WAS HERE. WE WERE HERE, WE EXISTED. And it's all about that hope, the hope that someone will see us, our pictures, listen to our languages, our greetings, our music, and remember us, even after we're long gone. Or perhaps we will one day be interstellar space faring people as well, following the path of the Voyager, doing what we do best, Explore.

My, oh my Do I find myself facing a faceless giant swinging his gigantic arms bringing about his colossal hands together creating a thunderous clap His skin thicker than the crusts of the earth with a voice that booms from the corners of the skies My, Oh my Do I find myself stunned with fear as it puts its foot down shaking the ground beneath the soles of my feet How do I slay a giant such as he? He strikes me through my heart melting the inners of my mind shattering the bones beneath my skin eating away whats left of me. How? I've got no sword left in my hand my armor has crumbled turned into dust my spirit barely alive! I am Weak! unprepared! and unequipped! A soldier in shame! A warrior who has lost all who he is! My, Oh my Do I find myself crying in silence with no tears left to shed with rage that boils inside of my chest thinking that maybe this is it for me. My, Oh my Do these shadows fall upon me. Opening up scars that have healed Sinking me deeper and deeper down the cracks of the earthly soils swallowing me as I try to find myself beneath the ocean of pain. My, Oh my Do I find myself bleeding hurting, and screaming in silence My, Oh my! this giant gloats about as he strikes me down as he strips away every bit of my courage, and strength Oh, he gloats, and gloats and gloats ----- But My, Oh my! My, Oh my! Do I still find myself getting back up every time I'm struck down beaten up buried beneath the ground My, Oh my! Do I say to you my giant, "You strike me down a thousand times; I get back up a thousand and one times!"

"The Warriors Giant."
