I am loud, Demanding attention. I know when I am being charming Because I try. I put on my impressing face And do my impressing hair And speak my impressing words. I tell you my embarrassing drinking stories And everything else about me That you probably shouldn’t know. I am not good at being quiet Because that’s not who I am. I am not the sweet girl Who will leave you with a smile And a touch And a glance Or a single word. There is nothing of this fashion of romance About me. I am the girl who will point out your flaws, And take you outside to see the stars, And remind you how human you are, And what a wonderful thing that is. I am the girl who will talk about science, And music and theology and history, And point out constellations, laughing, When you don’t know the big dipper’s name. I am the girl who will make witty references, To classic literature and science fiction, And will tell you stories of how I once, Made a gingerbread replica of a lighthouse. I am the girl who will stand on a table, And sing at the top of my lungs on the highway, And act like a chicken or quail or velociraptor, Or nuzzle your face like a lion to make a point. I am the girl who takes too many shots And then coaxes you to bed on a Russian liver, And knows all the right places to bite, and tease, And follows with exceptionally coherent pillow-talk. I am not a thin silk scarf on the wind. I am not a thing hard to capture. You would not spend a perilous journey Through a wild, perfumed jungle, Searching for my slender garments Hung beside a pool As I wail to the breeze. Rather, I am the bird who flies overhead Making too much noise Distracting from the trail ahead. A bird whose plumage proves What an interesting life it must be… What a colorful life for me… Perpetually strange The lone comic relief. I am many things. But I am not quiet. Of this I am sure.

#*Can it love you like God loves you, with a love that is better than life? Can it connect you to eternal beauty? Can it save you? Can it redeem you?  Can it lift you out of the miry pit? Can it make you clean enough to finally feel acceptable? Can it delight your soul to the core? Can it take your breath away with its faithfulness to you? Can it paint both sunrise and sunset across the sky to beckon your attention? Can it cause the breeze to blow and gently caress your cheeks? Can it send hummingbirds and wildflowers across your path to romance your heart? Can it parade before you the starry host and call them each by name? Can it probe you to the depths and fill you with itself? Can it rush to your aid riding on the wings of the wind? Can it satisfy your hunger and thirst with bountiful things? Can it give to you feet like a deer that you might dance upon the heights? Can it arrange every detail of your life to draw you and drive you to itself? Can it pursue you with all the resources of the universe? Can it know you through and through and still desire you? Can it raise you up and seat you in the heavenly realms and bless you with every spiritual blessing? Can it supply your every need out of its glorious riches? Can its grace be sufficient for you and its mercy help you in your greatest temptation? Can it pour overflowing comfort into you through all of your troubles? Can it reach down to draw you out of deep waters? Can it set you on an unshakable foundation? Can it bound across the mountains to come to your rescue? Can it make you lie down in green pastures and lead you beside still waters? Can it walk with you through the darkest wilderness and never leave you or forsake you? Can it carry you when you are weak or have fallen? Can it let you rest between its shoulders when you are weary or burdened? Can it escort you to heaven’s banqueting table and spread its banner of love over you? Can it hide you in the shelter of its wing? Can it be your daily portion and immerse you in the boundlessness of itself? Can it clothe you in robes of righteousness and garments of salvation?  Can it give to you praise in exchange for mourning? Can it bestow on you a crown of beauty for ashes? Can it turn your wailing into dancing? Can it flood you with peace like a river? Can it fill your heart with joy in the worst of afflictions? Can it know the way to lead you home? Can it refine you in its fire and bring you forth as gold?  Can it capture you fully even as it sets you fully free? Can it ever truly be your Everything?*#

the rose is dying the lips of an old man ****** the petals hush mysteriously invisible mourners move with prose faces and sobbing, garments The symbol of the rose motionless with grieving feet and wings mounts against the margins of steep song a stallion swetneess ,the lips of an old man ****** the petals.

The Rose
This is the light of the mind, cold and planetary The trees of the mind are black. The light is blue. The grasses unload their griefs on my feet as if I were God Prickling my ankles and murmuring of their humility Fumy, spiritous mists inhabit this place. Separated from my house by a row of headstones. I simply cannot see where there is to get to. The moon is no door. It is a face in its own right, White as a knuckle and terribly upset. It drags the sea after it like a dark crime; it is quiet With the O-gape of complete despair. I live here. Twice on Sunday, the bells startle the sky ---- Eight great tongues affirming the Resurrection At the end, they soberly **** out their names. The yew tree points up, it has a Gothic shape. The eyes lift after it and find the moon. The moon is my mother. She is not sweet like Mary. Her blue garments unloose small bats and owls. How I would like to believe in tenderness ---- The face of the effigy, gentled by candles, Bending, on me in particular, its mild eyes. I have fallen a long way. Clouds are flowering Blue and mystical over the face of the stars Inside the church, the saints will all be blue, Floating on their delicate feet over the cold pews, Their hands and faces stiff with holiness. The moon sees nothing of this. She is bald and wild. And the message of the yew tree is blackness -- blackness and silence

The Moon And The Yew Tree
From the ashes I descend, Rising among the flames, As shades of red. Orange and yellow, Blend within the explosion, Of my rebirth, Claiming my life force once more. My deep hazel eyes, Drenched in golden brown, Surrounded by a burst of jade, Speckled with dark green, Reveal my humility, Compassion and genuine kindness, Allowing you to behold, The window to my soul. The vessel, Containing my spirit, Conflicts with the feminine demeanor, Exposing sincerity, Comforting hands of a care-giver, The voice of loyalty, Gently escaping lips, Tears of empathy, Seeping with understanding, Kisses of affection, As soft spoken words, Depict desires, Hopes and the warmth, Of pure love. Mystery envelops my origin, Becoming a mystical being, With the ability to heal, The potential to inspire, Living proof of an alleged myth, Yielding in protection, As my plethora of feathers, Shield the individuals I adore, From darkness, Attempting to swallow the light, We yearn to discover. Blind Thoughts of denial, Shall forsake your eyes, If you pass judgment, Upon me, For my cloak of skin, Concealing my true beauty. As a Phoenix, I refuse to watch, The children of diversity, Suffer degradation, Living in fear of discrimination, Stifling the right to love another, To dress in garments, That correlate the body with the mind. I shall rage to cease, The hands of violence leaving bruises, Ignorance stripping, Breaths of air from a pair of lungs, As homophobia, Transphobia, and intolerance, Deplete individuality from a heart, Deserving liberty, The pursuit of happiness, A chance to survive. The Earth returns my soul, To reap the love, Concealed in assumptions, And sow acceptance into, The fields of society, As I continue, To soar into a cerulean sky.

In her gauzy garments Above the bowing trees The moon has many lovers In the sighing breeze. They all take her dancing In exotic lands They give her sparkling diamonds They kiss her milk-white hands. She is round & fullsome Or slender as a waif When she is then waning Her flowers are kept safe. Silken skeins of darkness When she's waxing full Are parted by her brightness She is NEVER dull! Her beaux are all so courtly But she eschews them all Her only love can make her pale She burns at his call... She lets out her moonbeams Through her eyes they weep She loves the one eclipsing her They can NEVER meet! She, so strong within her court Will curtsey when he comes The moon has many lovers But she's taken by the SUN. Catherine Jarvis (C) 12/14/2019

The Moon Has Many Lovers
Garments stripped from worn bones and weary mind Feet dragged on tile; hands grasp plastic veil Stepping into a tub; near swoon divine A pure, naked self emancipation, before the squeaking running metalware   that erases the daily equation. Dancing, singing tunes of own devices: Cupid, Shooting Star, Sister Golden Hair Rocky Mountain High, American Pie ****** bosses gonna kiss ***** here Astronauts, cowboys, and rockstars meet here Best yet, the individual is here Although merely hidden by a curtain, all for your view is but a damp shadow.

Sonnet to My Shower Curtain
With a body wrapped in a crimson dress, she bears a violent temper. Shining daylight, raging bewitching, captivating cunning. You arrive with starry eyes and cheeks flushed like a ****** In her curly hair, autumn curtains hang—roaming rays hot. She glows in the night like a pictorial wall with hieroglyphics concealing madness. You step elegantly, but you're a dangerously stealthy predator. Grassy hills in floating flames burn beneath a voluminous haze. Her look describes fabulous waterfalls, endlessly flowing and shining in the coming dawn. You associate with robbers and kings, but they do not understand, and no one will save you. Lovely eyes sprinkle enchanting rays, her lips intertwined like a rose petal. Her heart enticingly calls with her fruit to be drunk. You hide in the nightlife, dress up, and do your love magic. Neck fashioned in autumnal garments, wearing scarlet ruby earrings. Her pink skin smells of perfume, inviting like a grape on a vine. You invite visitors with your charm to carelessness, forever forced. Her lips are flowing bewitching rivers—intersecting strokes of crimson. They bring a dream to taste her deep soils and her artfully carved forms. You are determined to captivate without marrying— you stay lost in rebellion.

Lust 2
Blessed are they whose baby-souls are bright, Whose brows are sealèd with the cross of light, Whom God Himself has deign'd to robe in white— Blessed are they! Blessed are they who follow through the wild His sacred footprints, as a little child; Who strive to keep their garments undefiled— Blessed are they! Blessed are they who commune with the Christ, Midst holy angels, at the Eucharist— Who aye seek sunlight through the rain and mist— Blessed are they! Blessed are they—the strong in faith and grace— Who humbly fill their own appointed place; They who with steadfast patience run the race— Blessed are they! Blessed are they who suffer and endure— They who through thorns and briars walk safe and sure; Gold in the fire made beautiful and pure!— Blessed are they! Blessed are they on whom the angels wait, To keep them facing the celestial gate, To help them keep their vows inviolate— Blessed are they! Blessed are they to whom, at dead of night,— In work, in prayer—though veiled from mortal sight, The great King's messengers bring love and light— Blessed are they! Blessed are they whose labours only cease When God decrees the quiet, sweet release; Who lie down calmly in the sleep of peace— Blessed are they! Whose dust is angel-guarded, where the flowers And soft moss cover it, in this earth of ours; Whose souls are roaming in celestial bowers— Blessed are they! Blessed are they—our precious ones—who trod A pathway for us o'er the rock-strewn sod. How are they number'd with the saints of God! Blessed are they! Blessed are they, elected to sit down With Christ, in that day of supreme renown, When His own Bride shall wear her bridal crown— Blessed are they!

a draper is someone who creates garments or patterns by draping fabric directly onto a dress form (Wikipedia) ~~~~ I am a draper, by trade, by nature, by instinct; a fling of one arm across her body, while she dreams and sleeps, rambles, mumbles, and even convulses, to hold her tight with two, with both, soon grows discomforting as the blood ceases to flow, the heat breeds unsweetened sweat, and the snuggling impact, is too fast subsumed by the pins and needles numbing, deadening, and ironical attenuation this is my pattern, how I address her, how I dress her, draping my contiguous, drawing five fingers upon her form, reshaping her in her sleep, the arm flung, there, and then there, to be hung, at varied places across her body, higher lower, above below, but her face, free and clear, so not to interfere with her sensory preceptors and as I draw my pattern upon her skin, her body whole, listening her to indeterminate utterances, to determine which pitter patter pattern to which. she feels best suited, then, I prepare my invoice for her, for services rendered, to present upon awakening, demanding in voice, by her voice, payment in words, of her own chosen amuse-bouche, mmmm, will it be? good morning my love? hello you! or just an indiscriminate but yet, a discriminating sound of having been pleasured by unknown forces in her deeper sleep, using her lips to say, to hum, to sing, a genteel unspecific but, and yet, a terrific, deep from within guttural remittance, the sound of a delicious, mmmmmming greeting a new equinoxal gale of a refreshing fresh birthing, fulsome already satisfying draping of the day

Law, All ye termites hacking ants are you without sin? Twisting the law to your greed thus dethroning justice Thou that dis-virgins the law to suit your selfish taste, Did not equity say that none is above the law? Money-thirsty vultures seeking positions to occupy. Law hackers depriving justice and equity of her rights Equity and justice now lives in shame of her virginity, Almighty termite, do not your deeds speak evil of your sins? I weep blood for justice and equity whose daughters you ***** Is there none whose conscience still breathe or lives? Power-driven termites making uncountable promises Yet accomplishing none but your calculated interests. Equity, All ye leaders that preach peace, are you not corrupt minded? En-slaving accounts meant for public welfare Yet you claim to have the peoples interest in mind, Did not the law command you to let equity and justice smile? Parasitic predators hi-jacking the country's economy Filthy termites proclaiming injustice upon powerless ants, Justice hackers, do not your conscience judge your judgments? I wish that you allow justice and equity have her way. Law benders at whose feet equity and justice bow Rippers of the law, at your hands justice is twisted, Is your nature as humans so inhumane? Little wonder the earth lives in fear of your tyranny. Justice, All ye slanders of the law, why not sheath your swords of corruption? Your unchecked power has broken the wings of justice Thereby making equity a widow without a husband, Remember your oaths to serve with justice and equity; Did you deceive the ants that voted you in to serve them? Chameleons occupying seats of filtered ambitions Woe betide your conscience for refusing to judge you, Are you not guilty of molesting the law? I mourn for the shameful death of equity and justice. You that crafts the law to fit your suit of corruption Remember a day comes when justice will laugh again, And you being powerful cannot escape the law of Karma. Karma, Murderers of the law, will you also bribe karma? I doubt if you can buy the law of karma with money. Thou whose gluttony corrupts justice and equity, Don't you feel guilty that you disvirgined the law? Equity and justice now roams about in nakedness, You that preach the law, are you true to yourself? Heartless spiders cob-webbing the law to entangle poor ants Did not equity bid you come to justice with clean hands? Yet with filthy garments you condemn innocent ants; Mind you that someday the law will rise again. All ye scavengers of justice and hackers of the law, Do you think you can **** the law of Karma?

Approaching loss
I am a person of colour Whose simple presence can cause outrage they use their tongues as swords and slay me with slurs Whilst there are others who pretend to be my ally but I can see their disgust in their eyes their uneasiness in their smile I am a person of colour Whose beautiful traditional garments are cherry-picked and woven into a disgusting replica brandished on “Designer labels” and mocked as exotic I am a person of colour Whose skin is secretly envied by them they exhaust their expenses on tanning salons and “bronzing” creams Yet simultaneously they spit on my “darkness” and promote their products with the so-called beauty of “lightness” I am a person of colour I shall not hide my anger at their ignorance I shall wear my skin with pride Because being a person of colour No matter what I do or how I conform They will never be satisfied

I am a Person of Colour
Gemini in seasonable  evening, serenely swirling in Septemberous ferris wheels reeling in the vast domain of lonesome leviathans and witch-fires; nowhere bound in the boundless fecundity [ the feral joys of creation... ] twins meander in gravity's well of souls, swollen with unknowns and proteins; golden rods in pointless foam brewing the elixir vitae in the Dippers cup. the Milky Way, a wayward gush from an ancient Mother Goddess, plump and shameless, pumping teats to nurse worlds infused with divine rays of gamma and x... why set dark apart from firmament burning spheres? dragons must clutch eggs in the void as much as fork tongue white dwarfs. of course, the Source unfolds as  Love does. it's purpose, in thrall of fearless veracity, spinning yarns for glad garments to clothe the naked dread of such fearful symmetries as roam the wild delights of the infinite meringue. the Pi on the window sill, tempting the circular frame of reference to square with the sublime Will. another Fibonacci in your bedpost, to better hobnob with broomsticks. everything annihilates hatred. from within, we sojourn to sovereign super-continents of opulent peace. profound realities surge serpentine with Meaning. we are outdone on the inside by small minds and farcical hearts. so at night look up. Love's Tongue Is Love's Word.

Love's Tongue Is Love's Word
What is this, Lord Jesus, that Thou shouldst make an end Of all that I possess, and give Thyself to me? So that there is nothing now to call my own Save Thee; Thyself alone my treasure. Taking all, Thou givest full measure of Thyself With all things else eternal— Things unlike the mouldly pelf by earth possessed. But as to life and godliness, all things are mine And in God's garments dressed I am; With Thee, an heir to riches in the spheres divine. Strange, I say, that suffering loss I have so gained everything in getting Me a friend who bore a cross.                                          ~ Jim Elliot (1927-1956)

From the Journal of Martyred Missionary Jim Elliot
My mouth blooms like a cut. I've been wronged all year, tedious nights, nothing but rough elbows in them and delicate boxes of Kleenex calling crybaby crybaby , you fool! Before today my body was useless. Now it's tearing at its square corners. It's tearing old Mary's garments off, knot by knot and see -- Now it's shot full of these electric bolts. Zing! A resurrection! Once it was a boat, quite wooden and with no business, no salt water under it and in need of some paint. It was no more than a group of boards. But you hoisted her, rigged her. She's been elected. My nerves are turned on. I hear them like musical instruments. Where there was silence the drums, the strings are incurably playing. You did this. Pure genius at work. Darling, the composer has stepped into fire.

WEAVE no more silks, ye Lyons looms, To deck our girls for gay delights! The crimson flower of battle blooms, And solemn marches fill the night. Weave but the flag whose bars to-day Drooped heavy o’er our early dead, And homely garments, coarse and gray, For orphans that must earn their bread! Keep back your tunes, ye viols sweet, That poured delight from other lands! Rouse there the dancer’s restless feet: The trumpet leads our warrior bands. And ye that wage the war of words With mystic fame and subtle power, Go, chatter to the idle birds, Or teach the lesson of the hour! Ye Sibyl Arts, in one stern knot Be all your offices combined! Stand close, while Courage draws the lot, The destiny of human kind. And if that destiny could fail, The sun should darken in the sky, The eternal bloom of Nature pale, And God, and Truth, and Freedom die!

Our Orders
--- Once upon a time In a land so far away There was a wretched kingdom Were a vampire held sway He was very ancient Handsome as a knave Dressed in black and silken garb Was said to be quite brave But such a cruel creature He devoured the towns The soldiers were all petrified Would not defend the crown So the King of the castle Searched both far and wide For mighty men of valor To defend the countryside Finally up north He found a daring band Of golden headed Vikings To defend his failing land The company of Norsemen Could not be laidback They rallied their army And decided to attack! They put no garlic round their necks No ash stakes did they carry They knew not the vampire ways And so they were not wary But oh! What valiant men! They made quite a sight! Scaling the vampiric castle walls - IN THE DEAD OF NIGHT! The vampire, Vlad the terrible, Made a crimson flood Destroyed every one of them And feasted on their blood! It was before morning The darkest witching hour Vlad finished dispatching them His countenance was dour Then a light came streaking From the pitch black sky - It was a Valkyrie! She made a fearsome cry! "You! Vlad the terrible!" The ghoul looked up, aghast! "You feasted on my Norsemen - But I am here at LAST!!!" The mighty female warrior Shook back her golden mane "You've killed many villagers But won't do it AGAIN!!!" The brilliant armored woman Faced off the evil lord He laughed, "You cannot slay me! No! Not with that sword!" "And for all your armor What do you suppose? Your sweet delicious throat Is slender... and EXPOSED!!! The Valkyrie laughed She threw back her hair She let fly her sword It scissored through the air!!! The dreaded Vlad was impaled But NOT through his chest Through his very garments The great sword came to rest To a TREE the monster stuck Like a fly caught with a pin He could not free himself! And he saw the rising SUN!!! He struggled against his cape He'd have none of THAT! But Vlad could not break the sword So he became a bat! Up he flew to escape his fate But a ray of sun broke through With an arc he burnt to spark IT DESTROYED VLAD AS HE FLEW!!! The Valkyrie, triumphant, Cried out, "it is I!!! For when there is a battle, I decide who lives and dies!!! I decide the outcome! Tis not by happenstance... Won't see you in Valhalla *You never had a chance!!!* So ended the battle The Valkyrie WON. The outcome was decided... ...Before it was begun!!! SoulSurvivor 5/6/2015

***** Red
wondrous words, shades of colorations, this pain, artfully slow, steady stalking, finale staking into my hardened heart with tireless twinges of loss and constant regret, painstakingly plinking away, leaving pockmarks of bullets shot at the concrete ring-fencing, failing to protect me from just another, **oh god not again, have no mo' time** for jes one mo' time love's aftermath regret, bitter acid wash, that cleanses nothing, for you are already nothing when love loss wrenches/rents your soul's garments with knotholes of unfashionable distressed distress **better not to have loved, better, better, better,** than this battering silent hurricane invisible thunderstorm internally, than respects no seasonality, for which the meteorologists can predict neither its path or its final cessation painstakingly, did I build my walled shelter, only to fail-fall to the siege machines of beauty and desire, and once conquered, with fire and heat, *they burnt me from the outward edges inward, and I am not a Phoenix* see the stooped slow white walker more than dead, yet alive enough existing to be witness to his own devouring, his hands wrapped round the stake in his chest stuck, painstakingly protecting it, lest its removal be one more undoing of the painstaking man

the painstaking man
My ornaments are fruits; my garments leaves, Woven like cloth of gold, and crimson dyed; I do no boast the harvesting of sheaves, O’er orchards and o’er vineyards I preside. Though on the frigid Scorpion I ride, The dreamy air is full, and overflows With tender memories of the summer-tide, And mingled voices of the doves and crows.

The Poet’s Calendar: 10 - October
Draped in fresh-knitted pearls we traipsed into saccharine peach orchard The summer heat loped about our dew-kissed ****** ****** - appropriated from dawn spent on neatly shorn plantation grass Ambling into the knotted palatial arbor we sat each in our own tree crux behinds nestled upon ashen bark Juice dripping in our grip down our cast nets of flesh sprawled about the branches inset with gravity-defying liquescent orbs dusted in translucent mink painted with smears of citrine, coral, amber, and ichorous clinging to brass stem The rondures secede to mandible taut between palms pull and polished ivories - torn- Fluent in dulcet discourse We cloak ourselves in provocative juice tatting Until such time that our congealing garments were found mapping the bark's topography A saccharine map to the breath of soil Bloodstone ants found our map and had begun traversing - portent to seize our treasure We surrendered our jewelled cages and took flight to the sun-drunken lake to bathe and swim until heavy lids kissed moistly heavily supped on the draught sleep - beckoned transience

Peach Juice Lingerie
You tore her apart for your own joy,
Her soul lies vacant and fragile,
Yet she faces the axe for getting *****
As no case ,can be filed.

You still roam around and live your life,
While she carries a perennial pain,
Who gave you the right to commit such a heinous crime,
 And leave her miserably insane."

Unfortunately the past cannot be altered but we can certainly look for a brighter future.

"I hope one day,  there will be no stare,
I hope one day ,no one will care,

Whether the fabric ,is short or long,
Visible garments ... Whether a mini skirt ,or a cloak,
 Clothes aren't right or wrong,
It's your mind ,facing a deadlock.

I hope one day , no news of ****
I hope one day,no obscene tape
Is it so hard to achieve
A world  free of harassment and eve- tease?"
