"freedoms" poems
Let the world always remember, That fateful day in September, And the ones who answered duty's call, Should be remembered by us all. Who left the comfort of their home, To face perils as yet unknown, An embodiment of goodness on a day, When men's hearts had gone astray. Sons and daughters like me and you, Who never questioned what they had to do, Who by example, were a source of hope, And strength to others who could not cope. Heroes that would not turn their back, With determination that would not crack, Who bound together in their ranks, And asking not a word of thanks. Men who bravely gave their lives, Whose orphaned kids and widowed wives, Can proudly look back on their dad, Who gave this country all they had. Actions taken without regret, Heroisms we shall never forget, The ones who paid the ultimate price, Let's never forget their sacrifice. And never forget the ones no longer here, Who fought for the freedoms we all hold dear, And may their memory never wane, Lest their sacrifices be in vain. 09-30-10b.

We Shall Never Forget (9-11 Tribute)
Society is a prison. It traps you in And steals your freedoms. Makes you conform. Until you are normal. So why don't we escape? Because we are afraid. Afraid of being alone. Loneliness rots the mind It steels the heart. We all decided Being trapped together Is better than to be free Alone.

Kevan Fuchs died today in his sleep In a similar way as his father of one And actually, also my father did too Of those bitter, big cancer scourges Which always come in unexpected In this short enough life, a bit early I've known him ever since first, when We were knee high to Dad's shotgun Throughout our small neighborhood We would all roam to see and look For ***** toads and such other fun Without any known end in our sights We often, came all together, at once In his parent's, little Clovis back yard In the under ground, in our deep dug Wild little clubhouse of our new pride Approved by our jealous Dad's stare Made all by ourselves, with great care Eight by eight, with three feet of deep Shagged carpet floors, walls around And places to hide stuff with those **** magazines we wished to remain Unseen by our parents, although they Surely lived through similar wild times Black lights , fluorescent mod posters Fans to cool, while there in the deep Kept the place comfy, from several Hot summers in New Mexico's heat Staying nights over, in conspiracy we Came colluding, while hoping no fame This place was our place, of known Refuge from all of the big crazy, with Frightening world still yet to come Giving us our youngest freedoms And also so much being in trouble As kinda neighborhood hoodlums Far up his Dad's, tall, two-way radio tower One of us in care would climb With binoculars to see the dark night With our pair of walkie talkies held Warn the others, carousing around Of any plight, in appearing headlights Kevan's brother, still alive,  Keith My other brother by another,  Buddy Also at first, a weird guy, named Chris One other member, as second cousin Who actually, was my very first kiss When it was hard to aim, lips to miss All bound as one, by made up signs And part of something called PSO Which, if you don't know well, what it Truly means, then you were definitely Not a part of the so very high bliss Which we suffered through so often Kevan's true nature is clearly proven Finally, most completely, at his end In the nature of his wonderful loving All his family, who also so loved him And all those other parties to trouble Who also so loved, really all of him ©  2017 Jim Davis

Devilish blue eyes, frozen gaze. Influencing me against my will, Submitting into dropping defenses. Overcome with an inability to escape, I become bound by those piercing eyes. Sapping once kinder thoughts, Replaced by detached isolation. Shuttering at the crack of the whip, Blindly I walk to death. Carved flesh ammunition against You, weakness exposed. Lacerations to the heart exchanged, Milky fog clouds my oppressor. Pieces held together by hatred, One blow away from cracking. Further into broken self. All freedoms come at a cost.

at times we tend to think our democracy is safely founded and secure only eventually we recognize the need to constantly defend its fundamental rights work steadily against their stealthy abolition watch carefully the words of politicians        lest they betray what they pretend to say think twice for whom we cast our votes avoid contenders who too often bray      that these were not their quotes   listen to those who have good arguments      do not unleash too easy sentiments and in the end cast our votes when called in short   democracy turns out to be hard work      in case we shirk this      we soon pay the price unfree societies have known      dictatorship  corruption  vice have often needed centuries to remedy injuries done to find their four freedoms and to recognize democracy remains a living promise a brilliant idea with many faces always a work in progress

our democracy (a.k.a. work in progress)
I am a man of no flag no God and no party but this offers me certain freedoms like freedom from offense and freedom to offend I've always found the most "offensive" jokes to be the funniest like a sacred cow butcher and if you are offended easily this might not be the poem for you that being said here we go Did you hear the one about the last pope who actually did any good? yeah me neither What did the pilot say when the Muslim man walked on his plane? "This is flight 216 we may have a potential security risk on the plane." America: Land of the free home of the brave? where a vast majority of the population are wage slave cowards and don't get me started on England a hot nest of xenophobia and racism which almost makes me glad to not live there anymore and it doesn't matter if you are a democrat or a republican because either way you are wrong, and dumb did you hear the one about the anti-gay republican in the gay bar? He took the most drugged up man he could find for some fun in the bathroom stall because the chances are tomorrow he won't remember enough to break the story I live in the sacred cow slaughter house (you can't spell slaughter without laughter) and the only food that really satisfies me anymore is USDA prime choice sacred cow beef

Sacred Cow Slaughterhouse
Sunshine! Sickly yellow slow-light colored streaks slithering worse than sweat down my body. That golden ball stares down at me like a haughty goddess, her duality shallow and hot. She cares not for the freedoms of humans. She's a two-faced coin, purgatory masked by the promise of freedom from pained brains and scholarly shackles. The sun laughs at her own trickery, gargling through melting teeth as she collects suppressed confessions from weakened teens. When her crescent counterpart offers solace from her torment, the moonlit darkness only serves to drown us and we splutter in our own self-taught year-round lies. And the sun rears her tattered, flaming mane at daybreak, belly-laughing at idle minds now unrefined, gleefully adding her own scorch to already inflamed brains.

You, upperclass, American feminist Will you please shut up about a sandwich? And comic book characters, supermodels Shut up about your first world problems And take a look somewhere, Where the idea of feminism Is actually needed Have you ever heard of an arranged marriage? It's common practice in other places, Right after puberty, as long as the ******* are there 11, 12, they don't really care See the life of a Nepali girl, lower-class, Lack of freedom Learn about the meaning Of the word kamlari Young Nepali slave girls Beaten and bruised, Not allowed to be ill Or *Jogini, Devadasis* Which are both from india Dedicated to a goddess at as young as as five To bring the family good fortune The tribes girl, forever ***** But with nightly visitors in her bed They're hoping for some of her luck To rub off on them Sumangali dalit girls Sold by their family For next to nothing, It's called "bonded labor" And is supposed to pay off debts But the trap is set The girl is caught And if the "bonded labor man" Feels she isn't of enough use Maybe she's been beaten or is a little too ill He sells her off to another man Supposedly to pay her hospital bill So yes, feminism is needed But not here you little heathen Shut up about your so called freedoms And help the ones so desperately need it

Feminism (kind of a rant)
they are soldiers fighting a war across the ocean, but their hearts are at home seeking love and devotion. love from our country, devotion from their family. that is all that they need. they joined the military to fight for what they believe to defend from foes, seen and unseen in their hearts we are the greatest nation from the farmlands to the greatest plantations. it does not matter if they're black or white they will never give up freedoms fight. we have people here from every nation fighting for americas salvation women have been the backbone in every war death they've seen by the score. the plains indian women who fought alongside their men it became a common trend. joan of arc- who lifted the seige in only nine days the greatest role a woman could portray. the uniform does not necessarilly make her a soldier, but her heart and strength that make her bolder. bold enough to cover your back and pick up all the slack she will always be there in command and pick up the rifle from the sand she will do whatever she must for in her you put your trust. she is the female soldier, she stood her ground of that we should all be proud. give credit where credit is due this is what i say to you. louis rams :

Welcome to AMERICA The sweet land of DREAMS... The only comparison I see... In either, nothing ever is as it seems It's the "Freedoms and Liberties" That attracts people from all different places "Equal Opportunity" is what our country sells And for all creeds and races A Melting *** Yes With this I absolutely agree But I certainly wouldn't call it "The Land Of The Free" REALLY? You've got to be kidding me There may be no shackles No slavery here But we're all puppets to government And the laws they declare Illusions of Liberty, Justice for all Distract it's evil soaked core It's slowly destroying our existence Until nothing left is pure And as much as I hate it It really doesn't matter that I see It remains out of my control They've still made a puppet out of me Pulling the strings on my arms I'm forced to obey And this will probably continue Despite anything I say But since I HAVE to say it anyway I've altered this strategy a bit I'll direct my attention toward "The People" And encourage them to fight it We may be too weak all alone But if we all stood up as one We could start the war to fight against What this nation has become If we all stood together To declare that we'll fight if we must To expose the truth and corruption In this sweet land of the unjust TO BE CONTINUED....

The Government (Part 1)
If I were ruler of all nations... As one of Gods creations There would be policies created from this societies frustrations I wouldn't waste your time... In fact doing so would be a crime It wouldn't be about politics with all it's dirt & grime It would be about the people It would ensure our rights are equal Spread to all from high above, preached atop the highest steeple And I wouldn't be afraid to say... That expiring some freedoms may be the only way And that would mean taking certain peoples "rights" away Some freedoms are given away too easily They should require much harder accessibility Which will aid in the filtration of humanity One right I would retrieve because it's abuse is so hard to believe I'd make it official that not all persons would have the right to conceive Not unless certain criteria are met, I'd have certain rules that would be set I'd put a hold on this right until one disproves their ignorant And since ignorance is bred I wouldn't allow our future to continue to be mislead Stuck in communities that will never get ahead If I were faced with this position, I have no doubt in my disposition Life skills would be taught in school, a required graduation precondition I'd advocate the importance of community Gone would be the privilege of immunity And with it would go all feelings of disunity To ensure all are exposed to equal possibility Early education would include lessons on life & moral responsibility To ensure guidance to all despite personal accessibility I'd replace things like algebra and womans lit with classes on life knowledge It's more important that the youth learn financal stability and manners, those who want to learn the square root of X can take that major in college Priority should be that each leaves high school with the tools to survive Each would leave with equal opportunity to prosper and to thrive Oh if I ruled the world!!

I am a woman. I can be all by myself I am equal to a ‘man’ I don’t need anybody to look after me I need no man to hold my hand.   I am a woman. I am tender, not fragile I can indulge in all life has to offer and intensely feel all the emotions I have strength tenfold. I can fight for my freedoms and rights Nothing can restrict me from fulfilling my dreams and aspirations.     I am a woman. I bleed red Grievous cramps drag me closer to death, and still, I put up a smile It is pride, no shame. I bleed to create the world. Even if I am tagged ‘impure’, I am not going to smother behind the veil   I am a woman. I deserve to be treated with respect I will never settle for less, in equality I believe I am neither born to satisfy a man’s hunger nor to be a victim of dominance Instead, I am born to be a woman of my choice.

'I am a woman'
I look with worried eyes, at social Vines, of flashing lights and a lack of rights. Human compassion is lacking where it needs to be. Hate feeds off of hate, but if thats all it takes, then **love should come so easily.** Bashing in windows. Spraying with mace. Choking to death. Eliminating race. Classes are gone, So classless mistakes, are now made daily at the hastiest rate. We’re starving and hungry for the tastiest taste, of what has become the most delicious most suspicious, vicious, fishy, repetitious, superstitious, vision named freedom. It's naive to think we’re free when all that we see, is a sea of beings not being one thing, and that’s free. When was the last time you felt it? And we’ve been given a life long song and dance of "whoever smelt it dealt it". So if you took the feeling of now and held it, bottled it up and shelved it, you would open up to find your mind in decline. This moment was better while laters behind. Thats the path that we’re on but we have control. We’re not egos and clothes, we’re people of souls We're humans of thought Not students of hate. Evil got a head start, but now truth is in the race. And if truth is in your face, and you choose to look away, then get used to the abuse and not confused at truce-less fates. The pre action of action is thinking to act. I'm thinking that actually we’re ready to snap. They’ve bent us too far, for us to go back. The past is a place where patterns attack. And people are put no matter the facts. Police are afoot demanding the last, of freedoms they take them, and **** them with gas. A historical scene on Kentucky blue grass these colors don't bleed, yet we see they fade fast. We’ve exceed the need, to keep things intact.

I fell in love with the feel of the earth beneath my feet, With the set of my arms and the cold on my face, I fell in love with the things that I see and the people I meet, I feel so madly in love with the sway of my hips, When I’m walking away when I’m feeling like this. I fell in love with my clever remarks, my hair and my heart, Fell in love with the way you can’t tear me apart, I fell in love with feeling like enough, And knowing I’m strong, I’m stable, I’m tough. I fell in love with the girl in the mirror With her scratches and bruises I’m so proud that she’s here, With her brilliant blue eyes laying claim to her dreams, That glistens and sparkle such beautiful things, I’ve fallen in love with all of my freedoms, With how I cast off my chains screaming I’d beat them. Through torture and heartbreak, through hopes gone and died, Through horrible moments and losing my pride, Through promises destroyed with lies and deceit, Through all of the things you cast down on me, I fought and I prayed to the cold in that place, I practiced my aim, against the words you misplaced. I pushed through all those words that you murmured, The very same ones I strangled and murdered, That now lay still at my feet, reviling the person I always knew I could be, Unnerved and wide open, with fresh pains and fresh hopes No one will ever tear me down Not while she is here I will let  those burdens go and cast away my tears Knowing good and well that I have  killed  my fears and I am with the one I love and I’m so proud she’s here.

(Composed by Billy Liebert; Recorded by John Wayne -1973) Face the Flag of stars and bars, Of red and white and blue, A flag that guarantees the rights For men like me and you. Face the Flag, son! Read what's written there-- The history, the progress and the heritage we share. Our flag relects the past, son, but stands for so much more, And in this Age of Aquarius, it still flies in the fore. It leads the forward movement, shared by all mankind, To learn...to love...to live with peace of mind; To learn the mysteries of space, as well as those of earth; To love each man for what he is, regardless of his birth; To live without the fear of reprisal for belief; To ease the tensions of a world that cries out for relief. Face the Flag of stars and bars, Of red and white and blue, A flag that guarantees the rights For men like me and you. Face the Flag, son! Take a good long look. What you're seeing now can't be found in a history book. It's the present and the future, son. It's being written now, And you're the one to write it, but the flag can show you how. Do you know what it stands for? What its makers meant? To think...to speak...the privilege of dissent; To think our leaders might be wrong...to stand and tell them so. These are the things that other men under other flags will never know. But responsibility...that's the cross that free men must bear, And if you don't accept that, the freedom isn't there. Face the Flag of stars and bars, Of red and white and blue, A flag that guarantees the rights For men like me and you. Face the Flag, son, and face reality. Our strengths and our freedoms are based in unity. The flag is but a symbol, son, of the world's greatest nation, And as long as it keeps flying, there's cause for celebration. So do what you've got to do, but always keep in mind, A lot of people believe in peace...but there are the other kind. If we want to keep these freedoms, we may have to fight again. God forbid, but if we do, let's always fight to win, For the fate of a loser is futile and it's bare: No love, no peace...just misery and despair.

In the name of democracy An entire state is terrorized Decade after decade Freedoms are curbed Protests are brutally suppressed People are brutally oppressed Education is diluted In the name of democracy The Army turns from protector to oppressor Every soldier marching past With his head held high Sounds the death knell For every man, woman and child In the name of democracy Soldiers break into houses Wielding their massive rifles As if it is their birthright As the peace and harmony within Is replaced by abject terror In the name of democracy All morals are flung out of the window As the women are ***** The men who challenge this unspeakable atrocity Are swiftly silenced with bullets As the children begin screaming in terror They are molested, one by one Until the trauma overcomes them Such that, they lose their voices They lose their minds They lose their hearts Meanwhile, the soldiers slip away quietly Having completed a good day of work In the name of democracy In the name of democracy India and Pakistan, warring for decades Use Kashmir as a bait As a means to satisfy Their unquenchable thirst for power As the potion simmers on Fuelled by hate on both sides Curfews and lockdowns follow with alarming regularity Schools and colleges are shut down Political organizations are banned The Internet is crippled Mobiles and landlines are killed Even the most feeble of all protests Is brutally quelled with bullets and grenades In the name of democracy Consent is dead and buried As nationalism takes centre stage The world watches on silently Allowing India, the oppressors-in-chief To reclaim the moral high ground And suddenly proclaim themselves as saviours Leaving the beleaguered Kashmiris no choice But to bow to their captors Their dreams of self-determination Shattered ruthlessly in the course of a mad, mad day In the name of democracy

Sigh I tap my pen on the desk like my teacher extracting my freedoms and plastering it on the whiteboard. He preaches and preaches about how he lost a game of golf last week I need to take a dosage of education, But whenever I take it I forget to check the side affects. SIDE AFFECTS MAY INCLUDE; -Boredom -Faeries pulling down on your eye lids making you fall into the pit of sleep. -Drifting in a car called imagination across this classroom. -Hands are under mind control as you draw twisters in your notebook . -NOTE: when you flip back to your notes when you are studying for a test, they will be useless Useless like "excuse me sir but is your love for the Broncos going to be on the test?" I feel like this teacher is testing me not on the subject, but how long it takes until one of the students in this class to go postal. Too soon? Sorry I should ship off my mouth to my mother cuz mommas got the magic of Clorox Bleach momma oh momma, use your powers to clean out my filthy mouth yet he is still talking, why is he still talking? I'm still writing this poem, Should I be writing notes on his college days Or should I wait until his head lands on this landing strip So he get his head can leave the clouds

Bored in class
The limping man entered a world of difference and prejudice carried by civilization. Sorrows beyond our understanding celebrated the right to be alone in wasted conformity. He is ashamed inwardly of transcending fear making persistence step into impulse. His cure hooked the tyranny of repeatedly abused witnesses with harassing all freedoms. Injustice regained its function by stretching a new idea of the conscious enemy. -s.r.b.

The Conscious Enemy
Bugle call in cadence be spread your deep sincerity Reverberate its call within our minds of good deeds done for better times Heroes of every walk of life remembered by bugle sounds into vesper night It's sounding love of mankind and sacrifice About everyday people like you and me About brass sounds that triumph liberty It's sounding our land, not laid bare, by the right to speak It's sounding about lives laid down that freedoms seek And through that bugle call we see in taps that sound great dignity We must fight not to relinquish our hard earned truth in bugle calls of our youth Now i lay my bugle down to sleep And still i hear that sound that haunting sound forever be that ushers forth our dignity
