We got you as a companion for Grandma but you were our friend.
We checked on you daily when your master wasnt feeling well but you were our friend.
We took care of you when your master passed away you were our friend
We saw you say mama and growl at your amigo Jenna you were our friend.
We saw you bring in a dead bird you were our friend.
We saw you in your pain at home you were our friend.
We saw you this morning for the last time this morning and we thought your pain would be gone you were our friend.
We didnt know you would leave us.
Farewall my Friend.

i speak hope that you may see through my lighter eyes.
through my spaced expression.
i surely do feel summer in my bones
i surely do feel like my world is expanding, as ***** and disbanded as my world may seem.
i know my state is temporary, just as it all is, but while i feel this, ill let it indulge
i will breathe in every last drop of this feeling until it is as dry as my bones

when i walk outside its amazing that i can feel the clouds wishing me farewall
the gut feelings are fading, everything seems yellow and grey
wont the chilly moon wish me a good rest of the year?
i am in dier need of a break

she is the only one i trust
this is what recovery feels like
Ive never been good at leaving
but I am accustomed to being left
bereft is my middle name
abandoned is my first
and ruins is my last
I am a mess of unhappy endings

the breaths in between are just syllables that sing out names
of familar beings now foreign
the echo of lost and forgotten things
only I find I am
cursed to remember

everything is unforgettable
to an empath and a thinker
reflections are pathways back home
and doorways into the unknown
I should lose myself there
not stalk the night

like an owl
prowling for prey
that tastes like you
all the pain Ive come to know
the breaking Ive come to expect

I imagine my heart
is bent and twisted up
disfigured tree limbs
vines of scar tissue
a highway filled with dead caucuses

a gravel road
paved in ruins
some of my own making
where inside
regrets grow like weeds
around a cemetary of memories

In time
one by one
I will pluck them out
cut away the dead flesh
learn to make peace
to move on

bid farewall
to this cold and broken shell
of a frost bitten heart
walk out of the darkness
of past scars

embrace freedom
*forgive and let go
Inspired by the Serenity Prayer:
"God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference."
Larry Potter Dec 2018
Drown me in white
Peel these colors off the wall
Untaint all the dirtied halls
From this room of memories
I'd bid farewall so soon
While I go looking for the silver moon.

Unpaint my muddled past
Erase the black and blue
Wipe off these cluttered hues
I'd view my new world
In an empty kaleidoscope
Crooked mirrors of bended hopes.

I'm starting anew
Beginning from the endings
Of last year's unravelings
Always looking forward
Left so certainly unsure
Chasing an open-ended future.
Happy New Year!
