Technology has been essential for ages From the wheel to the computer Now instead of writing pages I will type essays for the future of my career Technology, however, has gotten out of hand We use it to cover up for laziness. The television is turned on with speed so grand. Yet you could’ve gotten up and it would’ve been considered craziness. Technology has turned us mad We can’t seem to live without our technology Day by day we may look glad, But in the end it will take over angrily.

Technological Takeover
i don't/can't/won't/shouldn't/ write this essay instead i'll write poems in procrastination about girls that don't exist guys that don't know i exist unicorns i wish i was riding holden caulfield my brother death and general grayness procrastination poems are better than my essay writing essays are 95% procrastination and maybe 2% work 3% denial this poem is already longer than my essay is should i get to work or read another article on my favourite band or hover over the email tab someone talk to me? no? but music! no good music is this a sign minutes tick by drawing closer to midnight my fingers have yet to fly over keys like a reporter's with the Next Big Thing i suppose i will sleep and let the essay write itself

procrastination poems
Paperworks and all the lessons Sharpened my mind to behold more and more of that useless knowledge We would probably never use. Tests are bad enough. Marks at the corner teach us nothing but jealousy. The adults compare and judge as much as they want to And screamed and shouted cried and muttered. Exams are anything but better. You got stuck in a room Imprisoned by the tension. Suffocated by the hot headed determination to strive for the stars. Inhumanly high. This isn't hollywood movies Nothing like the literature essays 'how do we create tension' the subjects hold your fate but you did once told yourself 'I have no life' So what are we doing here? Wasting our days on something so terribly useless. Insignificant lectures when we know Accountants hated maths. Doctors hated biology. but they are who they are because of good results. They will realize no teachers like marking stupid homework. They hate the red crosses And so do we. Exams doesn't teach us how to be a good person. how to cope with beasty bullies.. how to survive on our own. It doesn't show any real talents nor your low (high) IQ It's just a pain in the **** You have to deal with before you became wrinkled, grey fuzzy and old.

A catalyst is a chemical that speeds up reactions. At least that’s what I learned in chemistry class. Catalysts sometimes are the major factors in a reactions and without them, The reaction could never happen. Catalyst can be lab chemicals, alcohol, drugs, coffee even, or a person. While lounging around one afternoon you were talking physics And I turned it on your head and spoke of chemistry, Knowing full well that I was speaking of our personal chemistries. You were right, the physics of a relationship gives us the laws, But CHEMISTRY can predict the outcome. If you do the math and follow the directions, you can determine the product without even doing the experiment. Unless the reaction you are creating has never been attempted before by the scientists preforming the experiment. They can flip through the books, Read the essays, Study the theorems, Even attempt the calculations, But if they don’t do the actual experiment, They will never find their outcome. Some things need a push, A catalyst, For them to form a bond, React, And combine into a stable combination. Hypotheses must be TESTED, ACCEPTED, and RATIFIED Before becoming a law. No matter how based in logic your hypothesis might be, You need the universe and its fundamental laws to back it up. There are still surprises left in the universe. Maybe you and I can be one of them.

Catalyst for Change
running deliquescing into nature i am engulfed in stillness i encounter a deer as i round a corner its chestnut eyes intensely sense something wild within me transfixed we meld palpably whispering our essence myopic views warp into acute focus golden flowers stretch and arch and yawning into the sun swell with bursts of luster whilst violets polka dot the path with lilac luminescence dead tree trunks mutating into masterpieces yearn for new life drawing in the squirrels yellow-bellied birds hover sensing my motions whilst woodland winds undulate pine scented waves of sea salt oceans my ears enchantingly enhanced by bristling leaves caressing trees as scintillating amber butterflies dance in synch with the clock tower’s ancient chiming a gust of wind catches a patch of sand and sends it quivering fusing high in summer air then falling soft as feathers hidden fairies prance about answering unheard questions problems dissolve in emerald meadows without a hint of striving essays write themselves upon my mind poetry flows through me wings of meadowlarks trace my face with nuances interlaced with connotations rushing home i write it down then bowing i take credit for what was etched upon my soul by a sunbeam in the forest ©2016janetaylor

1.) You have the most loving heart. Your warmth, your gentle touch that you personify without words. Melts the supports of my heart 2.) Eyes of deep blue, that ensnare me and leave me thoughtless. How they change into everglade greens, and mystical greys. They're beautiful 3.) Few laughs may be as pure as your quiet giggle. The mere sound gives me goosebumps and a funny feeling in my stomach. You're so freakin' adorable 4.)The curves of a semi-circle aren't nearly as perfect as yours. You've worked alot for the perfect body. I simply need to ask... How can you make something that's something that is already perfect better? 5.) Spontaneous, unexpected and surprising. You keep me on my feet, keep me entertained and make me enjoy every second with you. Who knows what I am to expect?! 6.) Once upon a time, there lived to fluffy bunnies, they decided to leave their little hole and go out on an adventure. A wolf came along and bit of the rabbits head and it bled to death Its so dark, and it leaves you wondering what to think. I love your dark side. It both terrifies and intrigues me 7.) You're so intellectual. I love some of the things you say and more importantly write! You have an amazing capacity for knowledge and wisdom and you use it well. It baffles me, some of the connections you make in your essays and assignments 8.) My love you illustrate a maturity that surpasses your years. Pertaining to your ability to be responsible and reliable if and when - not that I ever am - clearly am not able to be. I think you're the one looking after me. therapy and resistance how is it that therapy becomes the excess of class war or the oppression thereof? When the struggle of the individual is made to seem self induced when it is easily and clearly directly a result of the failures and complacence afforded by the majority of the group. When in a therapeutic environment it is important to distinguish the opportunities of resistance from the experience of trauma. there has always been individuals who establish groups that are in a realm of desperation. Understanding how this process has unfolded institutionally is just as valid as treating the individual. This gives the individual the choice and resources needed to heal. The healing could look like resistance rather than assuming aspects of class war or oppressive culture to be normal. Otherwise therapy is nothing but the means to normalize the process of oppression. The traumatic state needs to be able to decipher its organic existence from that of organized oppression and its institutional cooperation. the neglect of deciphering or distinguishing these differences causes individuals to make a competition out of trauma. This minimizes certain trauma of individuals and causes the group to have less of an opportunity to resist organized oppression of the institution. Those that are in the realm of desperation or traumatic state are given no choice but to repress in order to continue being social or a member of the group. in excess the hierarchies of gender, race and class are reinforced to an almost superhuman level. To the desperate or traumatic state… what needs reinforcement is that there are humans just like us who have resisted oppression and caused the normalcy of the group to be more inclusive and aware of the processes associated with organized oppression.

Andi Balise combined a half page of a short story, “Thanks Going Without Saying” by Liz Balise, with half a page of an essay by Klee, “On Modern Art”, from a book called Modern Artists on Art, 10 Unabridged Essays, edited by Robert L. Herbert. With some small edits and line-breaks comes this miracle of a poem: Painting a Function Different I peek out over the railing of reality’s magic Beyond the porch-floor Minerva hangs her wash making the invisible visible Eighty two and three quarters deaf she doesn’t notice   But this is, in fact, reality Has always been this way— Bent and bird-like existence   Balanced on two twigs—always busy— Her task, is the *********** of space   Cutting coupons, crushing aluminum cans, ironing The three phenomena which I must.... Things no one notices— climbing on the abstract surface of a picture Switching the curtains   God! I wish from the infinity of space..she wouldn’t…! It figures that— Rusty, her cat, is weaving in fortune or misfortune   I try to fix them— Her ankles now And she curses at accidental quality from the corner of her mouth which has only one form Clothespin or cigarette?   Long johns and animals and men in heaven and bureau scarf and sheets—all, non-infinite deities surround us translucent, contained    I decide what to get for her birthday— We are good friends through painting a function different For me? no one takes you seriously anymore. you're just a college student. you are still young. you are still learning. you have not been fully brainwashed, yet. you have to get a good job! you have to make enough money! you don't want to be starving, do you? then go to college. go to college cause that will fix all your problems. one piece of paper and 200,000 dollars of debt later. welcome to college. welcome to college! where you'll try hard to get good grades and be up all night. you will never know a good night's rest for the next 4 years. more anxiety than high school. more work than high school. more people than high school. more bull **** than high school. liberal arts education is supposed to be great! but what if you hate science and math and you just want to write? I hate my classes. I hate analyzing books. I hate analyzing movies. I hate writing essays. I hate talking. I have a C+ in one class because I never talk. I hate talking. I hate talking. when I get my degree will it be different? will I be different? will my life change forever? will I finally be the member of society that society wants me to be?

Consider: is this a “man” who slogs through mud, who has never known peace, who fights for scraps of bread, who lives at another man's whim, who at his "yes" or "no" lies dead. Consider: is this a “woman” shorn bald and bereft of a name because she lacks the strength to remember, her eyes as void and her womb as frigid as a winter frog's? Consider that such horrors have indeed been! I commend these words to you. Engrave them in your hearts when you lounge in your beds and again when you rise, when you venture outside. Rehearse them to your children, or may your houses softly crumble and disease render you equally as humble so that even your offspring avert their eyes. Primo Michele Levi (1919-1987) was an Italian Jewish chemist, writer and Holocaust survivor. He was the author of two novels and several collections of short stories, essays, and poems, but is best known for If This Is a Man, his account of the year he spent as a prisoner in the Auschwitz concentration camp in Nazi-occupied Poland. It has been described as one of the best books by one of the most important writers of the twentieth century. His unique work The Periodic Table was shortlisted as one of the greatest scientific books ever written, by the Royal Institution of Great Britain. Two hunches over shame and a 3am breakfast, I think: *There’s gotta be a reason why art rhymes with **** If you want anything to go anywhere with any respectable…affect, the force of pressure on the inside must exceed that from the outside. Interrupting this genius, He asks: How can you eat that crap? It’s so…empty. He is flipping through his coffeeblack back pocket note rag. It’s soiled, wrinkled concave with the ever-heaving stomachfuls of his inky midnight doubt, and I would really rather not have it at the table while I’m eating. I am pouring another glorious bowl of Frooty Froot Hoops—yeasty, store-brand sugarfuel for the lower-middle-income child poet. He spends another tasteless oatmeal evening reading essays about how to improve his writing. Instead of, like, writing to improve his writing. I ask: If you took a knife to the edge of your boundary’s boundary—stabbed right into your life-world’s fleshy monad-sac, glory running ****** down your blade, As you breached forth into the well-lit unknown, would it still be courageous, if you emerged from your warm wet ignorance, and they were all waiting outside with mylar balloons, a banner, and "Congratulations on your Artistic Rupture!” in blue icing on the cake?? There's still a moment there, right? Petrified in the sap of thrill, in the momentous-stasis between The arrow flung and the arrow fallen. A moment of advancement …a moment of abandon! (He nods along, but he isn't listening.) I say: Newness, originality, (birth), is purely indexical. It points, and no one notices that all those shiny vegas lights aren't really moving anywhere—It's just utility bills and light-bulb trickery. They're asking for genesis extended, genesis again and again and each false gesture points only towards another incandescent unreachable elsewhere. (He nods along, still, not listening.) But there's little monotony in taking a stab! Even if it's just for them, again, those perennial spectators expecting, Waiting outside with ***** little pocket notebooks of their own, crowding the bassinets, ever-eager to begin another “surprise" celebration. Gulping sweet, sugarpink milk, I say: I happen to like this crap! It keeps my knife sharp. (He nods along, but he isn't listening.)

Shakespeare would have failed Naplan, That was not in his cunning plan, Yes, his folks would have him tutored, To ensure Billy became learned, He would have lost his homework, Billy did so not want extra work, Shakespeare, that teen scallywag, It was total fun, such a lad. Now Shakespeare is a wraith, Why, Billy, why? Teens sayeth, As they serially fail literacy tests, Why not abolish that Billy pest? Tragic heroes and drama queens, That's the teens writing essays on such scenes, While Billy failed in literacy, Teens do sense such hypocrisy.

LITERACY TESTS
I go to bed early and am quick to rise, my room is tidy as can be. Heaven forbid I should ever tell lies, I have no faults, or can’t you see? Whenever my parents wish to speak I turn an ever eager ear. Never would I give them cheek, that is too brash for me, I fear. My teachers’ words are my priority, never would I cause them duress. I must bow to their seniority, and never will it cause me stress. Juggling six demanding classes is such a simple thing to do. That’s six straight-A passes, a 4.0 is nothing new. Exercise is an important act, all the leading physicians say, So tennis, soccer and varsity track are how I fill the rest of my day. But as each evening wears on, after days that were just too speedy, I am constantly drawn to serve meals to the needy. I always speak grace before we eat, in the most humble and catholic way, so for food, light and heat and for God’s love I truly pray. This is my third square meal that I’ve enjoyed today, with portions small so I don’t feel that I’ve increased what I weigh. Now to homework I must run, with adequate time for all. Equations and essays are so much fun, and studying history I would never stall. On the weekends my friends and I have more fun than you could know. Root beer and warm apple pie bring us from sugar high to low. Despite my perfect SATs I am more than intellectual. My drawing skills, if you please, are much more than ineffectual. And on the stage I am a riot, My singing voice is like a bell. My pirouettes and leaps are oh so quiet, Is there anything I can’t do well? Mediocrity would be such a drag, why would anyone choose it? I wave perfection like a flag, it has always been the perfect fit. Why do some make it seem so tough? Isn’t this everyone’s goal? The pure exhaustion isn’t that rough. And all perfection cost was my soul.

Expectations
I go to bed early and am quick to rise, my room is tidy as can be. Heaven forbid I should ever tell lies, I have no faults, or can’t you see? Whenever my parents wish to speak I turn an ever eager ear. Never would I give them cheek, that is too brash for me, I fear. My teachers’ words are my priority, never would I cause them duress. I must bow to their seniority, and never will it cause me stress. Juggling six demanding classes is such a simple thing to do. That’s six straight-A passes, a 4.0 is nothing new. Exercise is an important act, all the leading physicians say, So tennis, soccer and varsity track are how I fill the rest of my day. But as each evening wears on, after days that were just too speedy, I am constantly drawn to serve meals to the needy. I always speak grace before we eat, in the most humble and catholic way, so for food, light and heat and for God’s love I truly pray. This is my third square meal that I’ve enjoyed today, with portions small so I don’t feel that I’ve increased what I weigh. Now to homework I must run, with adequate time for all. Equations and essays are so much fun, and studying history I would never stall. On the weekends my friends and I have more fun than you could know. Root beer and warm apple pie bring us from sugar high to low. Despite my perfect SATs I am more than intellectual. My drawing skills, if you please, are much more than ineffectual. And on the stage I am a riot, My singing voice is like a bell. My pirouettes and leaps are oh so quiet, Is there anything I can’t do well? Mediocrity would be such a drag, why would anyone choose it? I wave perfection like a flag, it has always been the perfect fit. Why do some make it seem so tough? Isn’t this everyone’s goal? The pure exhaustion isn’t that rough. And all perfection cost was my soul.

Yuletide essays read poorly of spiritual love Save of winter concerns of cold hands and feet But to me my warmth is from within and without From sensitive elements and looks of expectancy All through the year I am loved and brought home by generous arms Holding my tender heart with simple fingers of gentleness At Yule my fears are ones of inability to conform Yet I know that my love will be kept holding small edifices Of temperate thoughts and radiant hopes Lest our love is exposed to the winter blast It has no maintenance worries as we stay locked Deeply embracing through the chill of the night In the mornings there may be white blankets of snow Which drive others to feel  isolation and loneliness But here at Yule as ever our hearts are as one Despite the dragging pressures of the seasonal presence New Year is a triumph of milestone epic Fantasising our minds with future conquerings Especially as most are timid in their push for reality Ours has been honed to supernatural  levels Although we look deeply into bringing these to bear We know from our hearts these are just around the corner Upon the very road we travel

Yuletide Essays
Take my hand, friend just for a sec- let's leave this ****** land of SATs, PSATs, APs, and college admission essays and guidance counselors and homework and pop quizzes and exams and whatever else-                                           behind. Let's be two again. Let's make Pringle-chip-duck faces and grin with orange peel smiles- I'll paint my nails yellow and we'll read Dr. Seuss with British accents in the dimming light of the old falling-down fort of pillows and blankets (that's almost too small for us) Let's pretend               Let's pretend                             Let's pretend That we've never seen the glowing screen of televisions, computers, IPods, that we haven't spent weeks wearing down our thumbs on text messages.               Let's forget fights over boys that weren't even all that hot. Let's sit in my yard and eat raw cookie dough behind my momma's back And make too-sweet fresh lemonade, and blow dandelions (into other neighbor's yards, of course) Spray garden hoses at each other and laugh and scream and giggle and make mud-pies. Let's make twenty different secret handshakes, Eat wild raspberries and hide sticky fingers And pinky promise- again and again- BFFs forever. Let's lose ourselves in the bliss of childhood just one more time- please.                             Just in case Peter Pan decides to visit.

My Evening Star,
When I was twelve, my uncle told me that when I got older, I would only have enough "best friends" to count on one single hand, and they would be the best best friends I'd ever had. And I can count my five best friends, but they are not my best best. Because they tug and twist and **** and pull on my heartstrings in ways that could make a grown girl cry; and they do. So I can tell you the names of my best friends that rip me to shreds and throw my heart onto a floor covered in broken glass; and you will be able to identify the names, because they might be your best best friends, too. Wanderlust the beast to slay them all, pushing my desire and reinforcing my disability, reminding me that I have nowhere to go and everything to see Disorder in my bedroom, in my essays, or in my brain; all of them causing someone (me) to explode in a fit of unwanted emotions. Apathy Towards my schoolwork and busywork handed to me by middle-aged "can't-do-so-teach-ers" that need a handful of capsules to numb the pull to leave just as much as I do. Dysfunction in my brain's chemical makeup, and my family's emotional one, not to mention the relationships I attempt to handle like a one-handed juggler. Imagination creating scenarios in my heart that could never come to be, leaving me in a perpetual state of disappointment. So now I will tell my nieces and nephews, sons and daughters, or countless grandchildren to never trust the ones that try to make something different of your heart, because they don't really love you, they love what the can make you become.

BFF's

she wanted my soul so I cut off a finger, noting that this little pinky offering, came from the same hand, who, who went to the market to buy her a love poem all her own, because, it was from the self same hand that wrote: *who, can cut a soul into pieces, no one! so one will still ask you, who! who will love you in whole poems, that are both past and future tensed composite composted, from words overly overused, but still foolishly feeling brand new when referencing you, so you can believe with new fool-thinking, this is your sole composition* she wanted my heart, applauded her determination, gave her one eye to see me instead better, so the visions she essays, to write, like when I sit down to write of women I’ve loved but! they do not come from my heart pieces, but from inside insight from of parts that are blind to everything but raucous untamable invisible desire she asked me for all the world’s wisdom, while standing on one legging, I simply said, here I am, telling you I’ll love you the way you requested, if only to be loved in return so with one eye and one leg, you will observe, two is not more than the sum of the parts of one love, as I count to ten on my nine fingers fingers that wrote of love not enough, no matter how many he gave up she wanted my brainiac left hemisphere, said, sure, the left side of me is where the baby poems are created, and then angel-released when ready, when needed, now that I see you’re needy for pieces, but still mistaken that pieces can be reconstructed into a whole with spit and spirit and an overarching imagination - no! the whole comes from only a holy place extracted from the hole-in-one that is my entirety give me then your utter essence, the place of you I, only I know exists, must exist, but cannot touch to see where you keep it hidden from all the women who love you, better than you even love yourself if you want that, then collect it, for it exists and lives on in every woman that asked for nothing, but was rewarded with more than a thousand poems, stored in stars, for her, to be creamed and cleansed, when she plucked them from the night in the galaxy where exist love poems, only to she-one shone-shine
