My Court is a battle As a Queen, I will endure so my kingdom thrives Standing in gardens My treasure trove of colours that never fails me Flowers bow gently The winds make the tall trees sing Rivers flow calmly Scents drift in the light I hear its sweet melody As I stand with pride A Queen now enters The daughter of Spring and Deer The tender Queen Fawn Who smiles so sweetly Fragrant, soft-spoken and kind With deer by her side Another Queen comes The angel with a kind heat The gentle Queen Sue Who has healed her wounds, broken her chrysalis And spreads her warm light Another Queen comes Wise and soon to be married Joyful Queen Donna Who goes with the flow A talented haikuist with a flower crown Another Queen comes She who is always giving The giving Queen Kim Whose crown's a halo And her words, so spiritual fragrant and calming Another Queen comes Who has birds singing so sweet The sweet Queen Robin Who is a true joy Whose words are just like music A kindred spirit And now a King comes Who is very much like me The great King Omni Who is an artist Who is both seen and unseen Very much like me Another King comes Ever so mischieveous The playful King Paul Such a playful tease He who makes me smile and laugh And looks out for me Another King comes His heart is strong and tender The wise King Edmund Who writes for himself Speaks so well of others and how vital love is To these Kings and Queens Thank you for your melodies You are golden souls For now I do see The true power of my quill My ink is gold too I write out my life My pain, my fears and my loves And my achievements I must stay above I will walk with my head up and ignore the bad People will hate me But I will thicken my skin to be a true queen I will empower And give you all your respects and never denounce I am a true Queen With a Court that is growing steadily but strong The reign of Queen Lyn Who is sensitive and shy It has just begun

The Queen's Court

I'm trapped. I can't escape. It's getting hard to breathe. Darkness is overcoming me. I can't speak. When I try nothing comes out. She holds me down. She keeps me here. Her lies empower me. I am broken. I am trapped. There's no one to hear me cry.

Trapped
I came to liberate lions from dungeons I came to share and not stare at you I came to actualize powers within me I intend to distribute resources equally I came to reiterate that all beings are beautiful I came to make an impact like mountains do I came to create music with my attitude I intend that symphonies surround me with their melodies I intend that children feel safe to open up to me I came to empower dancers in perpetual motion I intend to be a witness to the miracles of life’s radiance I came to scream love songs into forests I came to hear my own voice echoed by hollow caverns I intend to create portals that we can travel through I came to bring back the aurora borealis at all latitudes

a declaration of emancipation
In this battle for the freedom of our souls some may think Maybe I should've let go long ago From being kings and queens, Chiefs and Pharaohs To ******* in the cotton fields To slaves being whipped and forgotten We were stolen. Stripped from our homes and looted of our gold. Fast forward Now we are doctors, lawyers, professors But Don't tell me the cotton fields have recovered from our tears Our sweat seeps deep into the souls of America So Don't tell me the cotton fields have recovered from our blood. Fast forward "All are equal before the law and are entitled without any discrimination to equal protection of the law." They tell us equality is coming. That it is here. Then let you wait holding your breath Suffocating. Black boy shot and killed for walking down the street Black boy whipped and beaten for looking master in the eye Tell me are you still holding your breath? Still suffocating Still waiting for the keys to our chains Fast forward Black lives matter All roads torn down, we've paved new paths   Stripped from our houses so we built homes Lotted for our gold but we are golden Black is hard to get rid of, that annoying stain that stays to long Black is rough and tough Black is solid in luring ways But Black lives won't matter until we love our own people Black lives won't. matter. to. them. because you've called that girl a *** or Thot" Black lives won't matter until we stop the black on black blood splatter For black lives to matter... We must empower each other Standing together the ground will break recognizing he whose tears, sweat and blood upon which it was built So take one look at our past Because this will be the last

What truly is the definition of righteousness? Is it determined by act or by mind? They say a good man fights for justice, peace, and prosperity. But then, can a man of such moral truly remain so if he turns to violence as an answer? Does his intent to create marvels render him of moral status though his methods may empower death and promote war? Oh, this man is peaceful himself, taking letters instead of bullets to battle but his lyrics dislodge society in a manner not all approve and so begins combat. Can this soul carry such holy title, if the repercussions of his strung together words are strung up necks? Or is the good man the one who turns away from the world's fight to be his own embodiment of ethical beauty? For the one who remains silent causes no direct pain; he himself is passive and tranquil and moves to inspire such conduct in others without commanding it. But his silence encourages fierce vehemency and wildness. Does this fact not taint his name? The first man had pure intent, but with his tongue he spit sparks which others used to ignite a fire and burn the world. The second did not fight himself but his chosen hush could never end the blood rain, and so his lack of sharp verbosity allowed knives to flash and blood to spill. So I will ask again, what determines morality? Though this time with a grounding response; morals define morality. Each man's mind renders his own flawless ideal individually, and so one's perfection will always be another's monstrosity. In truth? There are no good men, or at least not one to all.

☮ ☮ ☮ **Society needs more Social Justice. Humanity needs peaceworkers.** Peace and Social Justice must be promoted aggressively. There are inequities that must be addressed. Marginalized citizens must be empowered. All ****** gender-based, racial, religious, age-based, homophobic, xenophobic, and gynophobic bigots must be brought to see in a new way through our poetry. Community building and local empowerment are of the order. Our poetry must be global in scope – yet rooted and grounded in local community empowerment. Selfless acts of service to promote and increase Social Justice are needed. Lives selflessly devoted to establishing social justice are called for. Our poetic lives must be laid on the altar of the dis-enfranchised and unrepresented. We, as consciously aware poets, must advocate and speak out for those who have no voice. We, as poets, must, through stirring words of Social Justice, embody through our radical verses the burning hope of a just and sustainable future. This future must become increasingly collective as formerly marginalized consumers become empowered community-builders  –  through our poetry. As poets of the sustainable future we will empower and inform. Our poetry must collectivize, entitle and enslave. We must speak with ONE VOICE: the voice of change and social justice. Our words will rise with healing in their wings and lift whole communities from despair to radicalized self-awareness in communities filled with strident, intolerant and maniacal practitioners of PEACE & SOCIAL JUSTICE. All poets who do not lay their entire creative and lyrical selves on the altar of struggle to bring CHANGE and SOCIAL JUSTICE will be LIQUIDATED by our own EMPOWERED POETRY. The quiet was nice before But now it's starting to irk me. It echoes with everything I've been avoiding, this sinister road on the highway to everywhere. Instead of no where. At least no where I would be lost.. Infinite space, time and control. Contradiction?                          No. Stuck in the void means there are no expectations. Trapped in endless space with only your mind to fill it. No outside voices, nothing telling you how you should be. People empower you, want certain things for you, raise you on a pedestal ...You're not even sure you can keep up, to fulfill their desires for you. But you say nothing...                                       Keep quiet...                                                              Float to the background. As you have skillfully done for years. Take the situation and control it, own it, make it yours. Force it to produce the outcome that you, only you wish to see. Recognize that you desire and work to acquire. Life is too short to make every body happy, but, Too long to live alone.

Speak The Truth
I wake to the news of another lynching As our boys scream Bleed Blue And over the border, the Green Girls rejoice And somewhere in Jharkhand Two families mourn the death of their men Cattle traders? Terrorists? Muslim? With cloth stuffed in their throats And arms tied behind Hatred showing in the mob mentality Another dark blot on our secular fabric And I watch a short film, India, India Of a young boy on Tuesday selling ganeshas at a temple Another image of the same boy on a Friday Selling taweez and chanting Ya Ali Outside Mumbai’s Haji Ali And on Sunday, the same boy singing the praises of the Lord outside a church, selling amulets And I smile This is the India I love, the different faiths The acceptance, the co-existence As the morning drones on, I watch and participate In the endless debates on Facebook and Twitter Of people posing, taking sides, sounding pedantic While they sit comfortably in their homes Sipping ginger tea made by an underage maid While their Labrador retriever is taken for a walk By their Nepali driver and the Muslim cook smokes a bidi In the garden with the Bihari maali where their son plays But what will happen to the sons of the lynched cattle traders? What will happen to the brothers of the women ***** What will happen to the mothers of the sons killed? What will happen to the fathers of the unborn children Killed for their mistake of being a girl child? Is this the India we want to grow up in? Is this the India we want to have children in? Is this the India we want to grow old in? Wake up, my country, it is still dawn The road is long and far and we have miles to walk Towards peace and freedom and love Towards acceptance and equality and oneness Get off that sofa and make a difference Participate, vote, empower, create, enable It’s up to you whether our country goes this way or that So, wake up, my country, it is still dawn Wake up, my country, it is still dawn

“It’s a Girl.” They said, Destined to go to her ‘own’ home one day, As if she is born into a strangers home. Marriage has its own time, Why make her birth seem like a crime? Do give her the unconditional love but don’t consider her a bad luck. “Who will bring forward the family name? She will bring only a shame”, they said Destined to go to her ‘own’ home one day, As if she is born into a strangers home. If that were the case, Ashamed are parents who gave birth to, Kalpana Chawla, Asha Roy, Arundhati Battacharya and many more. Worried about the family name? Bring her out of the shallow box, Filled with your narrow thoughts, Help her reach her full potential, Then watch the family name gain credentials. “Do what he tells you to.” They said, That is your house, He is your everything. From her, kings are born, From her, woman is born, Without her, there would be nobody at all, So why then do we make her a slave? Likes, shares, tweets and re-tweets can only do so much… Empower your thoughts and not just the woman, Teach your son to respect the girls, Allow your daughters to reach their passion, Then watch the empowerment take action.

It's a Girl
Close your eyes and open your heart, Can you hear the silence! Can you see the darkness! Be grateful for the little things you have in life, For all our lives are full of bounties and blessings.. Mingling with other people from different backgrounds and Ethnicities inspired me and made me wondering in the deepest meanings of life Allah created us for one aim which is to worship Him alone.. He empowered us with all the tools that would help us to achieve life's goal The holy Quran will heal your heart and the sunnah of our prophet Muhammed PBUH will enlighten your path.. A letter to one's self.. Thank you is the least word I can utter to express my gratitude for you my lord You created me out of love before I was nothing, You gave me everything.. From the beauty to the health and wealth The eyes, ears, hands, legs and heart :") A muslim family that helped me through, The Arabic language that allows me to enjoy Quran,   You made me walk through your path to discover your light Thank you for the awakening moments you granted me Thank you for the air I breath the beauty I see and the food I eat Thank you for the birds and trees For the water and leaves For the seasons and planets For the sun and the moon The clouds and the sky If I ever start I can never count all the blessings you granted me It is really important to step back on your life and start thinking and Talking to your self To give your soul the boost to continue this life To empower your faith and renew your tawakul (reliance on Allah) I felt the need to cry when I attended today's speech by one of the sisters She spoke about how insan needs to always rely on his Lord Yeah sometimes you really get confused in the realms of life and you forget all the bounties that you've been blessed with Shaytan comes to you  and start whispering that you always need more.. It's okay to always need more because Allah loves when his servants pray to him and asks from him, But this doesn't mean to forget all what you've been blessed with It's really important to specify an hour each morning to reflect upon your life and to thank Allah for every single moment you have Allah has created you out of love, You are a unique version of your self Nobody is completely like you You are you and you should love yourself because Allah wants you to be like that.. All praise is to Allah!

Women are unconsciously unaware of their powers We are all filled with so much passion and affection We could move mountains with our souls If they were set on fire Foreign factors will try to creep into our minds And convince us That we are worthless The reason behind it Is that there is nothing in this world That could truly carry us women We must empower ourselves

Miss...If I May
I'm having an affair with words They take away my breath Words tell me what I need to hear Without missing a step Words work on my emotions I'm transcended by their displays There's legitimate anticipation Within each and every page When I look away for too long There is a longing that takes place The wonder of conclusion Vanished, without a trace Words help me to liberate my own ideas In the subtlest of ways Or when my faith seems in doubt I am enlightened by a phrase Their sense of humor is unequaled Words teach us and inform They can be as cold as ice Or soothing, kind, and warm. Words hold many of life's answers To questions that we seek When written, we can convey Much more than when we speak Words empower, words are strong They help decipher right from wrong Words can guide you, Lead you home Words are your friends When you're alone Words can help, or they can harm you Depending on their use Words can fool you, or misguide you, Lie, or tell the truth What I love, are words' transparency Written right there in black and white If misconstrued, words can lead to tragedy Although the stories' plot is trite We must take part in the mastery Of each and every words avail So that the notions we wish to ration out Are nothing but... The finest of detail. Precision personified Never at a loss for words Or ****** with a mouth for war That's when devastation's heard Instead, a calming smoothness Inspiration from inside This, in my opinion, is the greatest use of words And the peak of humanities pride.

THE HOLE
JUST NOT GOOD ENOUGH (first draft) We all are afraid of rejection Even if it was said without intention We just want that attention Even if it’s just a silly question We fear losing people whom our heart loves Like a flock of bewildered doves I ask myself am I good enough? But to answer that question who is good enough We have been told several times we just don’t meet the standards But to add a question to that statement, who sets the standards We have been told that “we can never be together”, Been told that “you cannot hold it together” We find ourselves judging ourselves based on others But sometimes you just don’t have to be like others We find ourselves feeling sorry for who we are But all we have to do is to be proud of who we are We progress through life wanting to be better than someone Whereas we should strive to be better than whom we were yesterday We find ourselves in a situation where we want to conform to other people’s norms But all we have to do is create our own norm We should just start feeling pity for ourselves And dust it up and empower ourselves We should start living up to the standard that we also are just good enough

Forget how to write No thoughts make sense or sound right Thinking what to write Every minute day and night Type or write down things that sound inspiring Empower the read with golden words that are rich Feel dark inside hoping the read can relate Connect or trigger a memory Make the world seem less lonely Only if others could see Understand other than things they already knew Change for understanding over passing judgement

Why be a Counselor? “Why be a counselor?” People often ask of me. “The pay isn’t high, and the paperwork is beyond belief. The stress you must have, dealing with people’s problems all day”. So, I look at them, and I try, my best to explain. “The pay won’t make me rich, you are right about that. The paperwork's insane, and we always need more staff. Yes, people come to me with a lot to explain. From broken homes, trauma, and unimaginable pain. But you asked, “Why be a Counselor?” so let me share with you. Why I continue, to do what I do. It’s the light in people’s eyes, when they first find that hope. When they empower themselves, and finally learn to cope. It’s watching them find a new life, one they actually want to live. It’s the joy of the families, as they reunite and forgive. It’s that one day you wonder, “am I really making a difference in what I do?” Then your email reads; “I am happy and well, and I want to thank you.” “That’s when you know…” I say with a tear… “There could not be, a more rewarding career”. -Monique Renee Smith

Life is a continuous matter of common observation. It enables us to realize, that each one of us, is a vivid and complex mortal living an epic story. One that carries on and on invisibly around you, like an anthill sprawling deep underground with several elaborate passageways to thousands of lives that you won’t have the chance to know. As time passes us by, we can’t help the rushing flow of frightening responsibilities coming through our way. As a result, we tend to focus more on these perennially problematic things, instead of looking at the bigger picture, which hinders us from exploring the beautifully intricate world we live in. However, as human beings, even if we choose to neglect these duties and just start enjoying the moments we have to explore this diverse environment, we’d always be afraid of what’s going to happen next, or the consequences of our actions to the unknown future. It can’t be helped, as we are all fear mongering creatures, crippled by uncertainties that may never happen and not even affect us at all. Despite our poor condition as temporary mortals in this world, we must always keep in mind that we exist in this universe to see our world unfold on its own beyond our imagination. To be risky enough to find our own adventure to keep us sane from the struggles we face in life, to see beyond barriers that others find to be a simple dead end, to draw things you love close to empower you to do the best of what you can with your abilities, and to find your true purpose in this life to be able to feel alive with zeal and vigor. That, to me, that is the true meaning and quintessence of life.

The Quintessence of Life

It was always a dream of mine to capture the tincture that embodies your sound; the voice that wakes me from myself. Words empower, words enslave; your words gave succinctness to the days. Periphrastic for show and glamor, otherwise, it was always one to another. "I" is for me, as you see fit. "Love" is for us, as we dream it. "You" is a sound that reverberates off caged testimonies. Sweet to me for sure; good to you you claim. Please pour forth that music. Love, the chords of my harp-heart.
