In his arms, feeling his embrace, she felt safe. The right words, at the right time, at the perfect place. Her eyes captivated by his handsome face. His hands gently placed, around her tiny waist. Two strangers, eye to eye as they come face to face Her lipstick as their mouths taste each other for the first time a memory that will last a life time a flavor savored by his body soul and mind he made her body his temple and she made his body her shrine.

I, dip my fingers in your honey sweet sap. Steering your emotions with sensations of passion. Loathing the moments in between, with the patience of a feind; for the instant our flesh meet; then going far in between -- filling your blossom with seed, releasing you of your need. Embraced by your fragrance, entranced by the scent, of your bitter sweet, sweetness, both heaven sent -- dripping from my tip, the essence of your tenderness. entrenched by your loveliness.

# *Ebony silhouettes inked by a dying sun, portray lovers embraced in the synergy of one. Inseparable dreams slowly morph into one … subservient to the whims of the compliant heart’s drum. And azure pools reflect a tie-dyed denim sky, as enchanted dreamers seal their love with a kiss nearby. Twinkling stars confetti the emptiness of space. And as darkness descends, shadows swallow all of the light’s trace. Reality pauses … as time seems to stand so still to the depths of their very souls, motionless they swim.* #

You loved her vividness. She loved your darkness. You admired her strength. She embraced your weakness. You wiped her tears of happiness. She mourned your tears of sadness. And when you saw her flaws, You suddenly changed. Dismissing the fact that she first loved your imperfections Above all your lovable complexions.

i have sunk into a slow numbness, perhaps because something broke over me the second i saw you again. i realized, it's better to be in full-blown sorrow than in a fragile happiness, forever staving off the blackness. but instead, i have sunk into a slow numbness. perhaps because you look away from me now the exact same way that i look away from you. your aversion gives me numbness. don't you see it? that's all this ever was. a fear of the numbness. a fear of the pain. your indifference gives me numbness because who wants to feel it when the ripping apart begins. i have smoked to numbness. i have cried to numbness. i have raged to numbness. i have laughed to numbness. i have embraced the numbness. i have dug myself into numbness but you gave me the shovel. you gave me the numbness. and i feel absolutely fine. i feel nothing at all.

a lie about numbness
A single raindrop falls from the sky, depressed in its loneliness as it descends. It lands and drips down a grassy slope, alone and forgotten. A single raindrop falls from the sky. It falls from dark clouds and gloomy air. It brings nothing but sadness to the earth below and desires only to be heard or seen. A single raindrop falls from the sky, felt only by a stranger. It's wiped away, declared a nuisance, and cast away from existence. A single raindrop falls from the sky, mistaken for a tear. Thought to be from an angel of a lost age. It merely stirs the dust. A hundred raindrops fall from the sky, all lonely but together. They cause a splash and demand attention. Still only felt by one. A hundred raindrops fall from the sky, unable to quench the earth's thirst. They disappear, taken by the ground, embraced for the last time. A hundred raindrops fall from the sky. Not a head turns to notice them. They cry out loudly but cannot be heard, vanishing as they land. A thousand raindrops fall from the sky. The clouds gather to watch the spectacle. They grow darker as they bunch together, warning those below of the coming. A thousand raindrops fall from the sky and tap people on the shoulder. "Come watch us," they whisper before leaving. Few people are left behind. A thousand raindrops fall from the sky, looking for an audience. The people have left and taken their friends to hide in the buildings they made. A million raindrops fall from the sky, and joyously, they sing. They hit the ground, the cars, the roofs, and make music for those in hiding. A million raindrops fall from the sky. They dance and cheer and smile. The sun decides it wants to watch. The light dances with raindrops for awhile. A million raindrops fall from the sky, accompanied by rays of gold. They bring new color to the city of gray and rejuvenate all of the old. A gentle rain falls from the sky and makes art upon the ground. It quenches the earth's thirst and hums in our ears, dancing to its own sound. A gentle rain falls from the sky. People watch with awe from behind glass. Ignored by many, precious to captivated few. They long for it to last. A gentle rain falls from the sky and gracefully sways in the breeze. It brings forth calmness and a sense of peace. It blesses the green fields and trees. A gentle rain falls from the sky, watched by a child with wonder. It sends the breeze to lift the child and brings them out from under. A gentle rain falls from the sky and splashes on window panes. It plays with the child and hums sweet tunes as it makes puddles in the traffic lanes. A gentle rain falls from the sky and ripples in the water. A new world created, impossibly calm. It makes the child an offer. A gentle rain falls from the sky and whispers in the child's ear. "Wait for me.  I will return. I won't leave you alone here." A gentle rain falls from the sky and sings goodbye to the child. The clouds dissipate as the sun takes over. The departing rain simply smiles. A million raindrops fall from the sky, murmuring farewells and goodbyes. Each gives the child a tender hug as the color returns to the skies. A thousand raindrops fall from the sky, then a hundred, then one. The single raindrop kisses the child standing alone in the sun. No longer do raindrops fall from the sky, but a child waits for them. To dance and sing and draw and play, with the gentle rain again.

* In my darkest days, I held you beneath my warmth. You indulged me with your feverish hunger. You embraced me with your piercing emotions. You were immune to my changeable disease. I came to a realization that you were my muse, the best rainbow I received………. You told me that I was part of your soul. To me you’re the fuel to my rusty engine, The energy to my thirsty being, And the light of my darkened soul. * © Pax

darkened soul
Who believes what we’ve heard and seen?     Who would have thought God’s saving power would look like this? The servant grew up before God—a scrawny seedling,     a scrubby plant in a parched field. There was nothing attractive about him,     nothing to cause us to take a second look. He was looked down on and passed over,     a man who suffered, who knew pain firsthand. One look at him and people turned away.     We looked down on him, thought he was **** But the fact is, it was our pains he carried—     our disfigurements, all the things wrong with us. We thought he brought it on himself,     that God was punishing him for his own failures. But it was our sins that did that to him,     that ripped and tore and crushed him—our sins! He took the punishment, and that made us whole.     Through his bruises we get healed. We’re all like sheep who’ve wandered off and gotten lost.     We’ve all done our own thing, gone our own way. And God has piled all our sins, everything we’ve done wrong,     on him, on him. He was beaten, he was tortured,     but he didn’t say a word. Like a lamb taken to be slaughtered     and like a sheep being sheared,     he took it all in silence. Justice miscarried, and he was led off—     and did anyone really know what was happening? He died without a thought for his own welfare,     beaten ****** for the sins of my people. They buried him with the wicked,     threw him in a grave with a rich man, Even though he’d never hurt a soul     or said one word that wasn’t true. Still, it’s what God had in mind all along,     to crush him with pain. The plan was that he give himself as an offering for sin     so that he’d see life come from it—life, life, and more life.     And God’s plan will deeply prosper through him. Out of that terrible travail of soul,     he’ll see that it’s worth it and be glad he did it. Through what he experienced, my righteous one, my servant,     will make many “righteous ones,”     as he himself carries the burden of their sins. Therefore I’ll reward him extravagantly—     the best of everything, the highest honors— Because he looked death in the face and didn’t flinch,     because he embraced the company of the lowest. He took on his own shoulders the sin of the many,     he took up the cause of all the black sheep. ~ Eugene Peterson

They came like a nightmare and took us away. Oh Mother! Don't spill a tear, your son's in a better place. They were scared of our pens so they fired us off. Oh Mother! Don't cry for their guns have lost. They pointed us out and asked our identities. Oh Father! Stand tall, I answered them proudly. I took a bullet in my head for wearing green. Oh Father! Be strong, I did not feel a thing. So bury me in this land and bury me with smiles Every grain of this soil is a witness of my sacrifice. So bury me in this land and bury me with smiles Your son embraced martyrdom and a martyr never dies. Those monsters just killed, did not let anyone go. Oh Father! Their hearts were stone cold. They painted the walls of my school with our blood. Oh Father! Don't worry, they will be the one to suffer. I was received by the angels at the gates of heaven. Oh Mother! That place was full of little children. And when I met the Lord, I was dressed in green. Oh Mother! My Mother! I was so happy. So bury me in this land and bury me with smiles Every grain of this soil is a witness of my sacrifice. So bury me in this land and bury me with smiles Your son embraced martyrdom and a martyr never dies.

A Martyr Never Dies.
No one understood the perfume of the dark magnolia of your womb Nobody knew that you tormented a hummingbird of love between your teeth. A thousand Persian little horses fell asleep in the plaza with moon of your forehead, while through four nights I embraced your waist, enemy of the snow. Between plaster and jasmins, your glance was a pale branch of seeds. I sought in my heart to give you the ivory letters that say "siempre", "Siempre", "siempre": garden of my agony, your body elusive always, that blood of your veins in my mouth, your mouth already lightless for my death.

I remember when you walked to my house in the pouring rain, when we embraced in the middle of the road I felt no more pain. I looked up at you and our lips collided, but I knew the love was only one sided.

Introduction There they stood; keeping silent company. Yet of His face, wept searing electricity. To the lovers of life Here they stand, keeping silent company. No utterance dealt; yet clear in both their minds A single, brilliant truth: He longs for her with a savage delight. And it cries from every fibre, exalting! It is in the bearing of his eye; Rifling through her tender flesh In search of what he knows, from voices ages old, is there: That her heart will beat for no other as it beats for him right now; That in this moment, their Souls are bared To each other’s glares- naked, and blemished, and cowering- Yet his eyes remain fixed and sure: And for this, she loves him. For they have seen each other for the First of Times, Truly! And as with many the Ancient Laws unfurled, They stand aware, in lack of ever being taught, Aware with every atom, every straining tendon tight That their time's so very short. And so they drink… wordless To each other, to their youth, and to their bodies Shining like never before in the noonday air Garbed in cloth that snaps and furls around their waists. They imbibe with electric eyes, Eyes that are new born to this world of light And come out screaming, living, and sensitive For lack of ever being touched. They revel in their new-found joy; Pouring from Her figure, Of Her sleek, supple waist and the arch of her back, Bristling with delight, Of His strong hands and easy smile, That spoke of laughter scattered Across countless campfires of summers past. Their light does burn intense as any fire, And when their brimming anticipation Overspills its crimson chalice The silence shall SHATTER. To find peace again in each other's arms. Fumbling in sweet darkness- Of heavy lids, of earthy flesh, With lips embraced... In ravenous finality.

**Strange how the dank hand of disaster clarifies the thinking, How all irrelevancies are scoured from the frontal lobe, How, strangely, should you look into the morning sky, the blueness is of a brilliant, startling intensity. How biting into a piece of fresh fruit reveals the new mouth watering,  exquisiteness of clean sweet, flavour. Strange how the dank hand of disaster allow us to consolidate our values. Where suddenly, the drabness of yesterday becomes the brightly, beautiful now. Where miserable mindedness adopts an abrupt re-evaluation, in that the sour faced neighbour is embraced with passion as being a fellow survivor. Where the rich and the poor are thrown together to work willingly, cheek by jowel, for a common cause…Tomorrow!. Strange how the dank hand of disaster brings out THE VERY BEST IN US …isn’t it ?** Marshalg A commonality observed In having survived many disasters over the years. 1 November 2012

If not for hellopoetry I would have given up The writing was starting to take its toll Left me emotionally exhausted I was forced to take a break For all my energy it had drained Sleepless nights, endless lines Trying to switch off my brain Left me depressed When sentences formed A story I'd tell About my life in hell Sometimes dramatised to a new level Sometimes I have seen myself become the devil All my emotions that stain the page The blood, sweat and tears Written into each line Left me losing moments in time And for this writing became a crime Didn't feel like I was utilising my mind Until recently I realised this was the only legacy I would leave behind I've seen this art in a whole new light Through words on a page, I've shown my fight I've shown all my emotions, I have been totally open Gave my all in every line Sprinkled in a flavour of rhyme If not for hellopoetry all I'd have is blank pages A mind full of lines, forgotten in time Took some time to unwind And that is when I realised These writings and I are bound for life I've learned to embrace this now Finally proud of all my works, how has it taken me this long To fall in love with this art If not for hellopoetry An appreciation I would never have tasted And this whole community I've embraced it Don't care if you love or hate it It's made me make some changes If not for hellopoetry There are talents I may never have uncovered Some of us are still so young, Still, more room left to improve The elder ones raising us up Understanding a whole new love for this art I once said These lyrics were written in blood Straight from the arteries from my heart That metaphorically speaking I spread all I am, all across the page Bled the led with what I felt   So much heart into every verse All this time it was never a curse It was something special I've been gifted To get all these thoughts out of my system If not for hellopoetry I wouldn't be here...caught within this poetic atmosphere ©2018 Written By Benji James

In my mind, I raced against time I smoked peyote with the Apache I chased Kangaroos Through the bush with the Aborigine All the while ...I searched for the power within me In my mind, I outpaced time I drew cave art with the Neanderthal I climbed to the top of the mountain with the Sherpa I hunted seal out on the frozen tundra with the Inuit All the while ...I searched for the power within me In my mind, I eclipsed time I wrote poetry while under the tutelage of Langston Hughes And I created visual greatness while apprentice to Gordon Parks I even stood on the wall with Che' Guevara, like a Sentry standing watch All the while ...I continued searching for the power within me In my mind, I turned to face time I wrote an addendum to the Emancipation Proclamation And I saw the ugly truths Of freedom's farcical Declaration All the while ...I continued searching for the power within me In my mind, I embraced time I sought to free my nation from the pandemic perils of ******* And I prayed that we Americans would be free of The snares of racial and economic divide that still has us chained I did this while searching for truth, in this, our most tenuous hour ...then empyreally, God reached for me, touching me, and I finally found my power * Reprinted from 'Exegesis a Decade of Poetry by Mekael' © July 14, 2009 by Mekael Shane

My Power
Born into a world of deception, Embraced in a life of abuse, Tormented by a state of abandonment, Betrayed by parents of youth. Destroyed by words of profanities, Tortured without excuse, Alone in a house of misery: Torn, battered, and confused. Compelled to a life of insignificance With their endeavors never seen, Their family — a false reality, Alone with only their dreams. Assaulted with no explanation By parents who destroy with their hands; A child bruised and broken Can only dream of oceans and sands. Alone in a world with no one, Their voice never heard nor seen, Locked in a room of obscurities, Waiting for death to set them free. Violence speaks to this child With no escape to be seen. Alone in this house of tragedy: Withdrawn, suicidal, and unseen. © 2020, K. Saitta

A Child Alone
Fantasizing Feeling Needing Something scarce is eating at my melancholy. As I deliberate, a vigor burns beneath my blood. I get so warm thinking about his hands griping my hips. My cheeks flush at the thought of his skin pressed heavily against mine. Unalloyed ecstasy His subsistence is the key that reveals my coffer. I beg to feel his breathing For him to cognize how much I want to gratify his every desire. Slow motion when I fantasize. A room bursting of fine riches I could erupt with gratification. A gentleman who can pleasure me both with innocence and sensuality. Rarity that comes as one. He demonstrates loves configuration, he bestows complexity and certainty. One could ****** with the thought of his supportive charisma. I weaken at the awareness of his reciprocated needs. The definition of love is embraced through his actions. Bleeding perfection, he is untouchable. He makes me feel amity. He is the dream I want to feel as I shut my eyes at dusk. I can sense him so close, yet when I open my eyes I’m alone. He is what every women searches for.

Sense
It is in my blood I can feel its presence When it’s on the verge To emit a surge, every time my heart beats An impulse, Scurrying it’s way through the crevasses of my brain. Tainting the walls of grey matter with a tendency for unpredictability, Out of my reach. I hate it I don’t want it I never asked for this I can’t slow my mind down Thoughts so fast, hit me with whiplash It’s insanity. No. I’m not insane I can’t be I’m rationale I think about how I think about things, Like it’s a cycle that never stops.. Which I guess could be my downfall My vision says it all When thoughts travel my mind In dark tunnels at times My eyes blind to the surroundings Tunnel vision that make you claustrophobic; You feel trapped When all you see at the end of the tunnel, Is the darkness of insanity But.. I’m rationale I acknowledge I have a tendency to be blind to my surroundings, How can I be blind if I can clearly see? Is life objective or subjective? I just want to understand-- You're stupidWhat was that? Felt like a surge, on the attack An impulse That voice That’s it. Unpredictability That lies, In my brain waiting to be brought to the surface With the surge of an impulse. It’s the insanity that taints me, From seeing what really is I’m not stupid, I’m a learner. Granted with the gift of analysis, But darkened by the cruel nature of impulse To taint my minds innocence I'm not scared to think about it anymore I am insane, because it’s what you make of it. Insanity grants me with the gift of perspective, Throwing a million different ones my way Ones that are positive and ones that are new Traveling at hundreds of miles And this even includes All the negative perspectives as well At the times when I don’t want to hear them. Insanity must be embraced and never repressed. Repression tells you no don’t do that, it’s wrong. When insanity isn’t embraced, it is feared. When something that’s inevitable is feared You’re no longer insane, You’ve completely lost it.
