"earthshaking" poems
Some say there is nothing more beautiful than the sunrise, and how the sun's lips lightly spin over the face of the earth and bathe it in soft colors, a gentle reminder that the darkness is over.
Some say there is nothing more beautiful than the ocean, because no matter how far they're swept away, the waves always find their way back home to shore, healing it over and over again.
Some say there is nothing more beautiful than galaxies, and how no star tries to outshine the other, every form simply coexisting in a dance of unnamed colors; in space even death is a sight to behold, a firework display of moondust and leftover breath from the mouth of God.
Yet I have to disagree, for I have never before seen anything as beautiful as love in its purest form--- conquering death, every sliver of fear, every earthshaking storm.
For loving you is sunrise, we have seen each other's midnight yet still we choose to forgive, knowing that when light breaks it covers even the places we thought were beyond love's relentless reach, and
Loving you is oceans of pushing and pulling, hurting and healing, but we have promised to be there through high tides and low tides, because I know your moon will always draw you home to me, and lastly,
Loving you is galaxies. I have never before felt anything so alive, so vast that even after claiming we know all the coordinates and all the corners of our maps, we still are only brushing the surface of our solar systems, and there are still so many colors, so many flames, so many meteorites we still haven't named, but that's okay because loving you
is only the beginning. Thank you for choosing my hand for yours to hold on this crazy, everlasting journey and maybe one day we'll find the right words to compare what loving you is like, even if we both know there aren't any. Oh, there aren't any.

If I never see the sun again I'll be all right
The light of your smile will last a million years
It'll guide my way
Even on the darkest of days, it'll never lead me astray.
If I never hear my favorite song another time I'll be all right
The sound of your voice will echo in my ears
It'll calm my heart and ease my fears
When the silence gets too loud, I'll squeeze my eyes and listen to your hymn
If I never feel the warmth of my mother's touch again
The benevolence of your hug will carry me for countless hours
It'll keep my toes toasty and my mind nimble
When the air around me gets cold, your arms will melt me
If I never taste another fresh raspberry for as long as I live
It's ok because your lips are sweeter than the sweetest berry
They'll kiss away the pain
Even if they spill sour words, I'll lick them clean while I wait in vain
If I never smell a rose in the spring time air
It'll be just fine
I swear, if the only scent I breathe in is the aroma of you
When I swallow air filled with you I'll let of a sigh of relief
My senses are lost in the medley of you
Intoxicating
Vibrating
Earthshaking
Body aching
My senses are lost in the medley of you

She is earthshaking and I am timid
She is compass and I am a wanderer
She is victory and I am surrender
She is unconventional and I am inferior
She is inspiration and I am distress
She is magic and I am a creep
She is ocean and I am a sunken ship
She is play and I am pause
She is soil and I am a plant
She is treasures and I am a merchant
She is vital and I am grave
She is everything at once and I am afraid

Tons of commotion,
Followed by defining
Silence.
The door clicks open,
Followed by a slight bang.
We are already made aware
Of the situation at hand.
No one speaks,
No sound to be heard.
A few moments after
The door clicks closed,
A slight mumble can be heard.
Followed my a
Heartwrenching scream.
Loud sobs echo
Through the halls.
Many here are
Slightly teary eyed.
Another mumble,
The door clicks open again.
The door seems to bang rather loudly
This time.
Nothing compared to the
Earthshaking sobs coming from the room.
IUFD makes the loud go
Silent.
In a few moments the normal
Commotion resumes.
Tonight we will leave
With heavier hearts.
A moment of silence,
For no longer beating hearts.

Where were you when the good guys lost?
When only bad guys got to score?
What were you doing to help us win the fight
When we needed a few people more?
How did it happen that you were so busy
That you couldn’t come face them down,
And let the people who were elected to lead us
Be rascals crooks and scary clowns?
Were you locked up in a prison someplace
Or in some kind of conflict of your own?
Was there a monstrous family schism happening
That put all else into the Twilight Zone?
Were you unconscious in an ugly coma
Through something horrible done to you?
Were you lost in a desert for a year or more?
Was there some brain freeze you lived through?
What could have been so important to you
That you could let our country go to hell
And fall into a pattern of human oppression
That the **** party did so freaking well?
What kind of earthshaking civic duty did you see
That was more important than our freedom?
What kind of social and political madness was it
That took the place of your sense of reason?
Are you planning to blame other people later
When the country we love falls apart?
Will you point the fingers at the leaders you chose?
And how late will you let that start?
Will it be far too late to stop your chosen lawmakers
From blocking every effort you or I make?
Will you let them swindle, rob and imprison all of us
To keep from prosecuting those on the take?
Where will you be when we try to fix this mess?
Will you be off enjoying wine, women and song?
Will you be in a debauched fool’s paradise when
The last chance for democracy comes along?
Or will you finally do some reading and research
To find out where this country went astray?
You haven't been able to wake and smell the fear.
Maybe you can come to your senses today.

I met him standing
In the middle of the lane, awaiting
For some silhouettes, apparently,
For he
Was gazing through the haze
Enveloping the ground of this intricate maze,
Amidst eternities of both
The one behind us and the one of forth
Acquaintance; peevishly there hotching
On his place, like pole earthshaking
Though with not a-lack of grace
This little figure strangèly reminded
Of my own wraiths I thought was far behind me; but never did they leave my soul’s abode,
No matter whether home I or abroad
I always carry them like plummet on a chain
With which all a-way down and down upcoming drowner fane,
Just like pale moon is setting to its further sleep
The same way future drowner does complete
The full life circle of eternal plan,
The one which you could not outran
In vacuous attempt to fool the time
In game that has been riggéd before thine
Name and surname were inscribed in list
Of papyrus and lost in spaceless mist

Twenty-six Letters,
Are universal symbols,
Of Not only beautiful love,
All that is Good,
But also Ugly hate,
All that is evil.
Infinity Gratefully accepts their company.
At the Emission of such power,
One Is unable to do anything but tremble at
The Sacred,
Power of a Word.
One can not say that it is not
Wonderfully moving to posses this
Earthshaking ability to release
Rattling emotions
With only the arrangement of some lines on a surface.

We're all born screaming
While screams echo back
And one day we learn
To hold our screams in check
But the world keeps on screaming
Its groans ignore our reluctance
Tearing through our dreams
Persistently confronting us
The only source of peace for us
Are Jesus' gentle whispers
They serve as a quiet respite
For those who are able to listen
And soon the whispers clarify
The groans from the world around
These aren't cries of anger
But pleas to be unbound
Creation itself cries out
For rescue by its maker
To be allowed to at last fulfil
The purpose it was made for
And so our eyes are opened
To the reason for our screams
We cry with all creation
For a full and final release
And Jesus hears our cries
He's not deaf to our prayers
He'll come again in his glory
With earthshaking fanfares
Our cries will turn to song
Secure in a brand new earth
Creator and creation in harmony
Echoing glad cries of new birth
So a new born baby's screams
Shouldn't come as any surprise
They are simply giving echo
To creation's longing sighs.

Fringe seekers, yearning for truth
How alienated and alone are you
What vacuum of truth are you seeking?
What expression of you are you speaking
You have fallen into a bottomless well
Where safety is the only hell
Down you go
Like Alice
Down and down
It’s a wonderland of your own making
Backbreaking, Earthshaking. Heartbreaking
Painstaking undertaking
While the Queen yells
Off with her head
You lay dead
In the place where
Angels fear to thread
And they pour happiness molecules
into your head
Fools jewels
Because you are stubborn as a mule
And it all seems so cruel
And won’t learn your lesson
I told you it’s you
You, you, you
And there’s nothing I can do
It’s just a fantasy
Of your own making
The curious come to seek the keys
Keys to the kingdom
The doors are too small
The keys are too big
And nothing seems to fit
Pardon moi, si vous plait
Do you happen to know the way?
Qui mademoiselle
The way, quite simply, is anyway
It’s all just play
Play, play, play
I would like to play
Then why do I feel this way?

I wasn’t expecting it, wasn’t expecting anything
It hit me like the floodgates of heaven opened up
And at all once like a swift death coming… just like that
You are my everything, and I am yours
You are the supreme king of a world never before conquered: my heart
You were no angel, but you were made to be the king of my heart
And our love was by far the most earthshaking there has ever been
But fate is clear, through so many stories
Whenever a great love is born,
That love must go to heaven.
I miss you like a cancer patient misses her health
I miss you like I missed my puppy after I went to college.
There is an anger within me that burns me to my knees,
An agonizing devastation that reduces me to tears on the floor,
And an emptiness… as if my neck was snapped and now nothing remains of me.
My everything and my heart’s king, I miss you.
You were my infinity
But a samurai’s sword swung down on us
But some samurai, one disgraced now
Because there is no honor in beheading a miracle
My miracle and my heart’s king, I miss you.

**** me with an abstract loathing. the room is all cloudy hues of arsenic and burgundy and charcoal. in the ****** light of two a.m. we're together. it's an undefined hatred with which we love. i can't tell if i yearn for more or less space between us, but i'm twisted and moaning. with an earthshaking rhythm, we climb higher and higher. your hands grip the head board, my nails on your back. a thunderclap that's my heartbeat resonating deafeningly thought this obscure room. the animosity in the air is tangible, but tasteless. your lips on my neck, my legs coiled about your waist. there's a phenomenon between us, a tidal wave, a green flash, a supernova. there's a certain desperation in our movements, the influx of fever, it's intoxicating. we reach the pinnacle, the peak, a spasm. still, we despise each other. the glowing ruby luminescence of your skin illuminates the darkness.
