Ladies and gentleman skinny and scout I'll tell you a tale I know nothing about The admission is free so pay at the door Now pull out a chair and sit on the floor On one bright day in the middle of the night Two dead boys got up to fight Back to back they faced each other Drew their swords and shot each other The blind man came to see fair play The mute man came to shout hooray The deaf policeman heard the noise And came to stop those two dead boys He lived on the corner in the middle of the block In a two story house on a vacant lot A man with no legs came walking by And kicked the lawman in his thigh He crashed through a wall without making a sound Into a dry creek bed and suddenly drowned A long black hearse came to cart him away But he ran for his life and is still gone today I watched from the corner of the table The only eyewitness to facts of my fable If you doubt my lies are true Just ask the blind man, he saw it too

Two dead boys (My favorite poem of all time!)
I wanted to reach out to the sky not to touch any star just to whisper to the Moon 'How beautiful are you'! I was still, stunned on the ground   wandering down the sunrise hill. In the midst of the morning breeze   I heard of a whispering ‘The eyes in the sky gaze to the ground’. So close to me that drew as if that whispered to me ‘tell me about you’!

Eyes in the Sky Gaze to the Ground
I only took the moon, veiled in my cube; I drew her innate water off — but not for good. Now the sun can’t take its eyes off the blindfolded black moon! Off this night, the sunup is yet to unleash— the dawn, let alone the tucked-away noon!

blindfolded black moon
579 I had been hungry, all the Years— My Noon had Come—to dine— I trembling drew the Table near— And touched the Curious Wine— ’Twas this on Tables I had seen— When turning, hungry, Home I looked in Windows, for the Wealth I could not hope—for Mine— I did not know the ample Bread— ’Twas so unlike the Crumb The Birds and I, had often shared In Nature’s—Dining Room— The Plenty hurt me—’twas so new— Myself felt ill—and odd— As Berry—of a Mountain Bush— Transplanted—to a Road— Nor was I hungry—so I found That Hunger—was a way Of Persons outside Windows— The Entering—takes away—

it's 3:23 in the morning and I'm awake because my great great grandchildren won't let me sleep my great great grandchildren ask me in dreams what did you do while the planet was plundered? what did you do when the earth was unraveling? surely you did something when the seasons started failing? as the mammals, reptiles, birds were all dying? did you fill the streets with protest when democracy was stolen? what did you do once you knew? I'm riding home on the Colma train I've got the voice of the milky way in my dreams I have teams of scientists feeding me data daily and pleading I immediately turn it into poetry I want just this consciousness reached by people in range of secret frequencies contained in my speech I am the desirous earth equidistant to the underworld and the flesh of the stars I am everything already lost the moment the universe turns transparent and all the light shoots through the cosmos I use words to instigate silence I'm a hieroglyphic stairway in a buried Mayan city suddenly exposed by a hurricane a satellite circling earth finding dinosaur bones in the Gobi desert I am telescopes that see back in time I am the precession of the equinoxes, the magnetism of the spiraling sea I'm riding home on the Colma train with the voice of the milky way in my dreams I am myths where violets blossom from blood like dying and rising gods I'm the boundary of time soul encountering soul and tongues of fire it's 3:23 in the morning and I can't sleep because my great great grandchildren ask me in dreams what did you do while the earth was unraveling? We made love under a tree crazy me and obsessed thee Ah! holding each other so tight at the peeking pale twilight. Caressing you from the nose, sliding way down to your toes; I made the chills run down your skin kissing your cute trembling chin. Locking your soft lips with mine I used my tongue to give you a sign. Closing the eyes, you went with the flow You ripped my pant off and dragged it low Excited by your aggressive touch, I slowly removed your clothes. And when I undid your red bra you drew me closer and moaned ‘aahh’ You smelled sweet like the fresh smiling flowers And you were all mine for quite a few hours Your rapid hot breathe lured me more and more I bit your ******* took our emotions to the core. Delicately I went down and licked your **** that seemed to have aroused you a bit. Then you scratched my back with your nail I was happy to see my moves leaving a trail. Thus, it was time to go for the ultimate bliss So I pulled you closer and gave a passionate kiss Gently I resided my hardness in you to quench our lust Up and down I moved but tenderly at first With each swift push, you moaned loud by seeing your amazing charm, I was wowed. Time passed as we kept letting ourselves free And this is how we made love under a tree.

Adult poetry (18+)
I'm transparent like a window but I'm prone to keeping curtains closed to cover up my youthful, aching, naked soul. I used to be promiscuous; my essence on my sleeve. a charming laugh; a crystal glass from which many a fool drew drink. A chalice of life; warm like cinnamon wine, soft like angel's delight. Beheld by every eye. But it never felt right; I was smoke off a fire, yet still smouldering coal. Just a young, beautiful byproduct of desire. There's no smoke without fire. Although, I tried to fan it cool; the flames ran only wilder. But as the old wind blows, it seems a withered tree still grows new leaves. A dandelion spreads its seeds but they lie far away from me. Now, I move transcluently- ultraviolet invisible ink- I speak in soothing whispers; they travel further than you'd think.

The timeless waves, bright, sifting, broken glass, Came dazzling around, into the rocks, Came glinting, sifting from the Americas To possess Aran. Or did Aran rush to throw wide arms of rock around a tide That yielded with an ebb, with a soft crash? Did sea define the land or land the sea? Each drew new meaning from the waves' collision. Sea broke on land to full identity.

Lovers on Aran
I cannot pick a color I love more Each is thrilling and some seem the breath of life to all the rest I loved my crayons They became my escape from misery the contrast to any given day at school Any excuse to use them all or just one to avoid that lowest reading group the monstrosities of math If I couldn't sing it there were no letters in the alphabet I could not tell you A from Z But you see-- That day was purple! That was all that mattered I loved its richness and its depth its mystery its royalty King Midas would have liked it, I was sure almost a religion Vestments of the priest in the times of expectation It is the explanation for the last of day As a five-year-old I drew my love for purple Passionate and outside all the lines-- off onto the desk I was so proud! But-- Miss Platt, so horrified asked, What is it I was trying to do? I didn't know.... I was suddenly ashamed and frightened too

Coloring in Kindergarten
In love they wore themselves in a green embrace. A silken rain fell through the spring upon them. In the park she fed the swans and he whittled nervously with his strange hands. And white was mixed with all their colours as if they drew it from the flowering trees. At night his two finger whistle brought her down the waterfall stairs to his shy smile which like an eddy, turned her round and round lazily and slowly so her will was nowhere—as in dreams things are and aren't. Walking along avenues in the dark street lamps sang like sopranos in their heads with a voilence they never understood and all their movements when they were together had no conclusion. Only leaning into the question had they motion; after they parted were savage and swift as gulls. asking and asking the hostile emptiness they were as sharp as partly sculptured stone and all who watched, forgetting, were amazed to see them form and fade before their eyes.

I once knew a boy Who liked to draw Beautiful pictures That nobody saw He drew by himself Alone at night Locked in his bedroom Out of sight The pictures where strange They came with a twist His pen was a razor His canvas, his wrist We lay out at night Watching the stars When he lifted his sleeve And showed me his scars I wasn't shocked I knew what to do So I lifted my sleeve And said "I draw too." -n.m.

I Draw Too.
I never dreamed of meeting someone like you. You found me in the cold and gave me a home, and now I can't imagine my life without you. You showed me the parts of the world that no one has ever seen. You helped me find the light and now I can survive these dark days because of you. We danced with the stars and lived off wishbones. Swallowing stardust and creating galaxies with our imagination. Your love made my head spin faster than the planets. Sweetheart, you have done so much and now I feel like one of the lucky ones. Let us go fishing for stars Let us swim with the cosmos Lets everything You drew an atlas on my hand and connected the dots to the places where we plan to meet. I love the shape of your lips and how I can trace them so easily with mine and now I can finally feel comfortable when I say I love you and mean it because I will love you until there is no till. Until all the stars burst apart in front of us. Until the universe stops spinning Until the end.

Cosmic Lover
The eraser erased my bad habits While the pencil drew in new ones The glue stick glued on a whole new face As the scissors cut away my background and past The ball point pen then made the changes permanent While the colored pencils shaded in my body The calculator changed my way of thinking As the sharpener grazed over my rough edges Finally, the ruler I had to measure up to your standards Now me and you We walk, talk and think the same Two moving as one I don't even know who I've become What I was before You've changed me more than you'll ever know

Street lamps play As they have before Dim walkway Leading to a door Careful steps Strewn leaves Breathe between gaps Skulking like thieves Rustling trees Otherwise nothing Mind at ease Heart rapidly beating Usually stops here Usually I'd stir But still in slumber I drew closer Eyes on door Familiar scene Stood here before This dream I've been Up the patio Door was ajar Accompanied by my shadow Stretched far Tunnel vision Dripping eave Door handle beckons Hand raised to receive Usually stops here Usually I'd rouse Allowed to enter This time... This house Handle I seize Door seemed light It did not freeze Hinges did not fight Revealed the insides Scanned surroundings Unlit lights Stairs climbing Footsteps I heard Coming my way Sounds absurd But yet I stay Usually stops here Usually dream is done But still was clear It only had begun Darkened figure Descending on bare feet Beauty light as feather Ever did I meet She did not see me Planted at the doorway Impossible it may be Nothing did she say Walked right by My eyes followed Seconds fly In eternity they burrowed Usually stops here Usually I'd wake Yet still I'm here Chance I'd take Stood at the fridge Back towards me Under siege My mind set a flurry Fridge was opened Light casted her silhouette Her back darkened Curiosity grew fat Illuminating beams Accentuated her hair Like golden streams Flowing with flair Usually stops here Usually I'd startle Connection did not sever Continue I was able Spellbound I gawked Rooted like a tree Wide-eyed I stalked This siren before me She drank Not knowing I was there Stiff as a plank I was locked in a stare Finally broke free Shifted my weight She turned to me And then said... Then it ceased Then I awaken Surprisingly pleased Slice of heaven Who was she? Silhouetted face Perpetually... Mysterious grace Foreign albeit familiar Strange but true Now rings clear... It is you...

Down the back alley on the cold winter evenings your eyes stared only at me I didn't smoke as my father gave up yet i didn't dare disagree you parted your lips you drew in a breath and your body relaxed in turn exhaling slowly, you grin and you show me how much your body did yearn for the taste of a cigarette the embers and ashes matches and lighters, causing flickering flashes you said I didn't have to but I said I didn't mind that the smoke in your mouth would soon be in mine I did not draw back my mouth- under attack I just had to last the duration because I didn't smoke the taste scorched my throat and gave off a burning sensation It must have felt different as just in an insant You stub out the cigarette with a hiss silently relieved and now more at ease oh, the things that you do for a kiss

Second Hand Smoke
Under the arch of Life, where love and death, Terror and mystery, guard her shrine, I saw Beauty enthroned; and though her gaze struck awe, I drew it in as simply as my breath. Hers are the eyes which, over and beneath, The sky and sea bend on thee,—which can draw, By sea or sky or woman, to one law, The allotted bondman of her palm and wreath. This is that Lady Beauty, in whose praise Thy voice and hand shake still,—long known to thee By flying hair and fluttering hem,—the beat Following her daily of thy heart and feet, How passionately and irretrievably, In what fond flight, how many ways and days!

Soul’s Beauty
and this day it was Spring….us drew lewdly the murmurous minute clumsy smelloftheworld. We intricately alive, cleaving the luminous stammer of bodies (eagerly just not each other touch)seeking, some street which easily tickles a brittle fuss of fragile huge humanity…. Numb thoughts, kicking in the rivers of our blood, miss by how terrible inches speech—it made you a little dizzy did the world’s smell (but i was thinking why the girl-and-bird of you move….moves….and also,i’ll admit—) till,at the corner of Nothing and Something,we heard a handorgan in twilight playing like hell

And This Day It Was Spring....Us
We were mixed up when it built; One another forced to coexist. As it drew us high and higher still, Below us grew the abyss. Overflowing with ecstasy, We left our hearts astray. The obnubilating and obsolete Had gotten our way. Obstacles vanished one by one, Increasingly slaying the beast. Moments we thought we'd won Are when we'd won the least. We stretched out our hands towards the sky Like wretched ghosts wrapped in disguise, As though we had just found a new paradise With the devil ahead leading as our guide. We followed him throughout the land: "This way leads us to the great fountain", And now we're stuck in a desert of sand Wondering when oases shall be attained. We've taken a bet against our nature. Was it anyone-in-particular's fault? "For every curse there'll be a cure, For every flood there'll be a drought." Once more, again, we shall repeat, To morrow, and for ever more. When the sunshine now seems to greet And when the darkness falls, Comes that nighttime of our lives; We ponder what we've been, But what we're we supposed to be When the pact was always sealed. So we wait in such anxiety, The impatience growing itchy; And we amass, tall in piles, To crash onto the shores like the sea.

Flood (2016)
1710 A curious Cloud surprised the Sky, ’Twas like a sheet with Horns; The sheet was Blue— The Antlers Gray— It almost touched the lawns. So low it leaned—then statelier drew— And trailed like robes away, A Queen adown a satin aisle Had not the majesty.

A curious Cloud surprised the Sky
I treasure those nights of unexpected surrender when hands molded caressed and made me tremble waking from slumber with body afire as he inched gradually into me bathed in my welcoming heat one palm curled protectively 'round the weight of my breast as finger and thumb drew on beaded peak and breath caught in my throat as his full depth was reached unable to remain still rocking back to achieve a deeper sink his sudden hiss scalding my neck teeth worrying my bottom lip neither willing to move afraid it would all end too soon and as the flames continued to rise groans replaced whispered sighs no hurried pace or rapid ****** slow and sensual movements dragging us ever nearer the edge denying that final release drawing closer but holding it back sensation heightened beyond bearing until that fraying tether breaks causing walls to tighten and quake drinking every last drop of his lust clutching inside and out desperately seeking his mouth sealing the cataclysmic moment heart pressed to heart breath to breath

Nights
In 2005 The Piano Man was found wandering the streets of Sheerness in a soaking wet suit and tie he didn't say a word. When presented with pad and pen he simply drew a grand piano. His nurses sat him in front of a beat up old upright he played for four hours straight; for four months his hands were the only things to break his silence. Alexandre Dumas said "man will never be perfect until he learns to create and destroy." Do you ever think about how Beethoven hacked the legs off his piano so he could feel the sounds he couldn't hear in his head, through his chest? And Van Gogh heard the sounds his paintings made but kept going until his sanity was just a memory floating on a distant river under a tired Milky Way. And you see, like a Gaelic folk song blindness runs red through my family, so I know it's not much but I'm here, still trying to mould my hands to say the right form of 'I love you'. And did you know that the human heart beats over 30 million times a year, but we still have a hard time keeping our feet on the ground? And did you know that the act of breaking in a horse is actually the act of breaking it's back? Like we can't sit without sitting on broken things. And did you know that every time a mobile phone sends out a GPS signal a bee loses it's way home, and every bee that doesn't reach it's hive dies? So on nights when your pulse matches the beat of my favourite song you don't have to wonder if it's me matching the syncopation of your silence -- and I wonder if you ever found what you were looking for. And I wonder if you realise that on days you're not here I roll up my sleeves, count the beats without you, sit on the backseat and miss you. And somewhere The Piano Man rolls up his sleeves creates the Big Bang under his fingertips. And in 2005 on an April morning in Sheerness, a suited piano man walks straight into the ocean, begs the current to take him. I send you a message a bee loses it's way home. I send you another another bee dies. My chest cavity is a bumble bee crypt, my tongue a honeyed graveyard. Another message. The Big Bang. The hive. A suit. That ocean. Another back is broken. Another message is sent. I fear I am more honeycomb than heart. To create is to destroy. To destroy is to succeed. And would you just look at what these piano hands have finally done.

Your eyes were like a sunflower Comparable in beauty With colors patterned In the shape and design Your eyes were like a sunflower They drew me in And swallowed me Down into your heart where I'll be fine, I'll be fine And my eyes were like a sunflower Just like yours But different in color Contracting and eating your existence This moment I cherish Because your eyes hold so many secrets and In that second of gaze connected by a line I could see them all clearly without rose tint I've taken off my pink hued glasses and I see the world through clear thin glass See it for what it is Through your sunflower eyes Fingerprints litter the glass Making it difficult to see through to it's beauty Tainted by past hands Even without the rose applied Will we ever see the world for what it is? Maybe If we look through sunflower eyes
