"diligence" poems
I read that he lost a suitcase full of manuscripts on a
train and that they never were recovered.
I can't match the agony of this
but the other night I wrote a 3-page poem
upon this computer
and through my lack of diligence and
practice
and by playing around with commands
on the menu
I somehow managed to erase the poem
forever.
believe me, such a thing is difficult to do
even for a novice
but I somehow managed to do
it.
now I don't think this 3-pager was immor-
tal
but there were some crazy wild lines,
now gone forever.
it bothers more than a touch, it's some-
thing like knocking over a good bottle of
wine.
and writing about it hardly makes a good
poem.
still, I thought somehow you'd like to
know?
if not, at least you've read this far
and there could be better work
down the line.
let's hope so, for your sake
and
mine.

Drowning in a cesspool of wishes
Destiny swims no farther than fishes.
Diligence seduces the tide,
She elopes, makes her a bride.
The singing bird sings,
The humming bee stings.
Inactivity kills the sweet dreamer but
Also exalts not the lazy ****
Puff your blunt, roll up your sleeves
Kiss your tools, empty your sheaths
Pray your hands grind the right mill,
Your hustle will have you chill.

I am a canvas
Painted in harsh strokes
With kind words
Mistakes blend in
Over time and diligence
But are never erased
They sit quietly
Under layers of oil paint
Built into my foundation

Another night has fallen on you
What have you seen in your life?
As you stand in your Truth
Your stand in your strength
You've seen many others fall
But you stand there strong and firm
The bold branches that you sprawl
So majestic
With your royal crown
You've earned the title
While the rest have rotted and drowned
Men have won
And dreams have failed
You didnt flick a leaf
Or acknowledge a single tale
You just keep on with your diligence
In your own Honest perfection
A lesson to be learned
From the Oak's perception.

Raw energy.
Despite the stiffness in his fingers,
despite the way his fingertips harden with calluses,
the industrious pianist hammers out the same tune
that he played last night,
and the night before,
and the night before that,
and unnumbered evenings before that.
Each notes falls magically into place,
none out of tune or without purpose,
perfectly in time.
Raw diligence and focus flooding his brown eyes,
gazing deeply into the sheet music.
His yellow forehead wanted dabbing,
Steeped in his sweat.
A manifestation of his time spent in his trade.
The conscientiousness in his eyes.
The raw vitality of his weathered hands.
The way he fills each note with sentiment.
Perhaps those are what keep calling me near?

The Sparrow's song is my happiness
A friend that darkness never takes
A remedy to my greatest sadness
And is always there when morning breaks
As it flies through the forest singing
The angelic tune brings comfort to all
A true moment of simplicity rings
Even as the sun again begins to fall
In presence of the Sparrow's innocence
We will always pursue it with diligence.

A Friend In Respect
As your Guardian
I wield a shield of protection
to guard you from threats until your death
As your Counsel
I scribe your word in promise
to keep you honest behind every breath
As your Advocate
I defend your allegiances in diligence
to strengthen the cause of your pursuit
As a Friend in Respect
I vow to keep my words encased in truth
As a Friend in Respect
I Duirno, expect the same from you

I find myself
and I feel myself
slowly falling down
into your gaze,
but is this right?
is this okay?
It's everything I'm afraid of,
everything I'm unsure of. . .
Am I?
Am I even good enough?
to grow with you,
to move with you,
to just be-
with you,
in harmony?
to ebb and flow-
its hard ya know..?
to take the good with the bad,
not many can handle that.
it's a long, hard road paved by patience
with diligence, allegiance, and constant cognizance;
that's not to mention pure intent, unconditional love, and
always going beyond and above...
is this..
could this..
could this be what we're capable of?
when I think of the possibilities,
the places we can go,
the faces we'll see, the some that we'll know,
the many opportunities. . .
w o a h
the thought;
it ties my stomach in knots
the tension;
its so easily broken
like a button upon cloth
held by a thread
SNAP
I'm a wreck...
and its just waiting to happen
like the many times before..
I can't, you can't, we can't
they all end in divorce..
oh sweet, sweet discourse
who knows,
I can't predict the future,
but what I do know
is that you may be the one to sway me
but only I can save me from myself..
and the last thing I'd do is ask you
for any type of help
so give me the time I need
and maybe it'll be
everly after happy!

I've spent a life creating fortune for those who've either never seen nor deserved it
Decimated by wanton want for more, or decaying senses wrought with desolation and desire to simply be known, I've caused strife within myself for the sake of others being fulfilled
I've spent so much time creating, ready to give myself to a world that's only seemed to cause destruction to my own soul, and take from me the things I needed most, even if merely conceived through empty wishing
I crave to bestow this strength and wisdom to one who would call my heart home; to be equal and stand as one, through synergy and servitude toward every sense of well being, respect, and care
I do not ask for more, I request nothing but trust and honesty; my affection, admiration, and loyalty lies upon the eyes that see me true
I do not expect love, nor frivolous diligence, I simply wish to no longer misplace my purpose, my admiration, or my faith unto anyone that would never see me, or never care to desire such staunch resolve within their heart as well

I wiped my *** on Shakespeare once:
in the absence of guidance
or conscience or prudence
bereft of any toilet paper
the solution appliance
which at the time felt like brilliance
was the re-acquaintance of Hamlet.
In that transient experience
the resemblance of ignorance
and the reverence of indifference
ignoring the previous deviance
was replaced
with a new found sense
of future
toiletry diligence.

Dew Diligence
to reap the rewards of a world of magic
and appreciation of earning
the clouds of doubt and pain
must be experienced
the piper must be payed
the fear of life reconciled
with the acceptance of death
leaving no stone unturned
no path untraveled
the mind set free in observation
the binds loosened in anticipation
maintaining your resilience
the tears must fall
your dew diligence

This nebulous life is like a puzzle dissipated,
When you can't comprehend what's real, fake, clear, or faded.
Clueless, mystified, seeking inspiration,
Meaningless alliteration,
Inadequate concentration,
Diligence and dedication,
What I need is a vacation.

In the winter you will lie
soul beguiled and rested eye
deathly dreams that dream to die
In the dead of dusk
In December you will sleep
Stowed away the dreams you keep
The sea inside you, swirling deep
In the dead of dusk
Daytime thoughts of innocence
happiness and diligence
follow you to requiem
In the dead of dusk
Lightest thoughts on surface, you
forget about what's real
what's true
until the dusk envelops you
that dead and demon dusk
Now Winter's winds are calling you
shadows cast on what is true
white cat, now black cat
sun now moon
in the dead of dusk
Everything you thought you knew
sleep will twist and mangle you
nightmares creep inside of you
in the dead of dusk
Morning follows
sun rises up
nightmares dangle on the cusp
disappear now,
Twelve hours burn up
then drag you down
back to the dead of dusk

What's happening to hello poetry?
I don't need to know when the next soccer game is
And if I can watch for free.
Only football I know is American like the pride that's in me.
My blood doesn't boil the native sounds of my country.
Since my motherland is the Dominican
But America my step motherland won custody and raised me, since the age of three.
Don't forget is not who made you but who you fed you, who clothed you, who saw your first shot to a basket, who saw your first catch, who kept your body warm when you got another cold, and so on.
This is "Breakfast for Champions"
Just ask Kurt Vonnegut
What's happening to hello Poetry?
Show your art
Get your due diligence
Don't sell us your dreams don't broadcast your business unless is a story, book signing or deal.
I don't need a spell to make a girl fall in love. I got these words
For and to whom I might propose
Love or an indecent occasion of lust.
Let my words be the for front on this site but they're second to my actions.
Since I don't speak much b'cause my Latin accent.
What is happening to hello poetry?
Private messages by strangers who don't write or speak words.
Claim is urgent and as a poet
You know kind hearted, love lost, And so on...
You just might want to message their Hotmail.
Sad story under prosecution
Sad story the relation is abusive
Mocking the painful truths of some of us artist.
Just wanting a piece of the pie
But when I order I even eat the crust and never leave crumbs.
Take offense or not I just don't give a ****

A busy man, a real nice gent.
Its often said of me.
Hard working and of good intent.
I would not disagree.
My work is of such an importance.
Skilled beyond my years am I.
Requiring such diligence.
Without that, many poor could die.
Skill is gained by repetition.
Practice must be sought.
My weekend is an expedition.
Where ladies of the night are bought.
In the darkness no applause.
An operation I attend.
Lying here without her drawers.
Her life suddenly at end.
I only take the parts I need.
That’s all I ever do
I am not here to sow my seed.
To my wife I am true.
But dangers lurk round every bend.
They have it in for me.
And so this exercise must end.
So much for liberty.

In every “Poetry Place”
There is a Copycat Corner.
We know it’s a disgrace
So here’s another “Warner”.
Why they do it I’ll never know,
Those Copier and Pasters.
Their words they seem to glow,
But they’re a bunch of Wasters.
Taking all that praise,
For stuff they haven’t written,
It seems to be a craze,
And many do get bitten.
Just Google their “fine words” or use those plagiarism sites,
And you will find the original poems
Bedecked with copyrights.
I’m sure this place just isn’t free
Of people like this,
Just look and see!!!
The Admins must get their fingers out,
And give these villainous rogues a massive clout.
Me, I will show all due diligence,
But my job here,
Is to show My brilliance.
(NOT someone else’s!).

Sleep like when quiet
Monopolized your ears
Except maybe a ting
An occasional ting
Of a wind chime
Sleep like when diligence
Granted you rest
From your day of completions
You were so thorough and
Always on time
Sleep safe
With the noises and clatter
Of all you hold dear
Knowing they are close
Sleep like when exhaustion
Squeezed the last lucid bit out
Made you pay for your excess
With a punishment
Kinder than most
Sleep with innocence
Not only in the night
But when dust swims across
The warm, thick daylight
Sleep in transit
While the bright yellow dash
Unzips dark highways
And your warm forehead
Bounces on the cold window
Sleep like the way
It takes me now
Lords over all
You ever become

Cheer up, dear
it's only a moment.
you're sitting through a sunrise
that's taking longer than it promised.
those kisses that you remember
are no better then the ones
waiting in front of you.
remember where you came from
and look to where your going
your smile is so radiant
your soul so strong.
keep striving on with diligence
because the new day is about to dawn
and when you see the bright light
you'll realize how much you're meant
to really be and become.

The Service without Hope—
Is tenderest, I think—
Because ’tis unsustained
By stint—Rewarded Work—
Has impetus of Gain—
And impetus of Goal—
There is no Diligence like that
That knows not an Until—
2.8k
Dice the dead mans diligence like a Dillinger or Challenger,
He gained a Dodge Wrangler like a sad handler of emotions;
Perhaps all of this is more potent than potions or consumer hand lotions plus alcoholic haphazard;
Yet I consider the price of anything to be lice on everything,
Like a fat woman’s sullen song,
The sounds still ring in the lingering enclave of my eardrums,
Which breath waves like air into my lungs.
It’s sundown,
And therefore, I’ll see you soon;
Yes, I’ll see you soon, moon.
So very soon.
