"digestion" poems
The parasympathetic nervous system is responsible for regulations unconsciously transpiring within the organs and the glands of the body. Such as: urination, salivation, digestion, defecation, and lacrimation (noun. ‘the flow of tears’. Latin. from lacrimare (‘weep’) and lacrima (‘tear’). It’s why I cry even when I don’t want to. You are the parasympathetic nervous system. The (ortho-)sympathetic nervous system is responsible for the mobilization of the fight-or-flight response and constantly maintaining homeostasis within the body. It acts rapidly, enacting an attempt at stability and the necessary and critical ability to suddenly escape on pulsing legs or cling to survival through brandishing adrenaline-doused knuckles and dilated pupils. It’s why you live even when you don’t want to. I am the sympathetic nervous system. The parasympathetic and sympathetic nervous systems are two of three essential nervous systems which compose the autonomic nervous system (a part of the peripheral nervous system) that manages involuntary functions of the body. Such as: swallowing, perspiration, arousal, breathing, and heart rate (noun. ‘the speed of the heartbeat’. usually expressed in beats per minute. mine speeds up when I see you). Individually these two systems oppose but compliment each other like our hands do— pressed together and omitting equal force; veins meeting at the fingertips and throbbing at the wrists but running amuck on our respective digits otherwise. You are the invariable and unspoken reminder to breath, love, sweat, and live. I am the sudden snap of reality always aiming to save you but grudgingly willing to fight you and ready to leave. From the deepest lower half of my brainstem and from every nerve in my cycling body, I’m sorry. From all of my chromaffin cells and from the truest parts of submandibular ganglian, I am sorry.

you are tomato soup acidic and creamy. your path is marked by risen temperature in my esophagus. your path is parallel to my spine. and you rest in the warm vats of my stomach but you are warmer still. no real need for digestion. you are but orange liquid. but sometimes you burn tttttttttsa on my tongue your steam-less appearance fooled me; there is no need for cooling hot hot tomato soup.

He finds repression Skinned naked By depression In ultimate digression Healed by succession Only cheated by obsession Fooled by impression In every session He burns confession Hated for his transgression In ultimate digestion He finds progression He finds repression Skinned naked By depression In ultimate digression Cut by oppression Cheated by misconception Fooled by concession He burns mental possession.

A mother whispers into the fire of Night I hold a match I hold Yarn I Am Wool Shrinking to the formation The intricate designs of your rib cage of your brother's belly of your Grandfather's waist Am I simply a fool? And Who Doth I ask This question too? A Torn book A tattered sonnet of Man's sore feet blistered eyes that are Green That are Brown That are Blue I Lay with myself Tonight I am Awake I am Loud In your Night I Am the Janitor beneath the hardwood floors of your Dream I am the Poorly Waged Electrician With Shoes that resemble an old dog I Light Your Highway Your Street Your Morning coffee your cigarette Am I The Child? I fall in love with women I see on the streets Their Wavy hair like a French sea Her pale complexion the Brown Glimmer in her eyes And I paint on her on Tombstones On Coffee Mugs and on carpets rolled up for the Dumpster At Nights I prefer to dream awake and sit with a BathTub of words of stories that melt like cheese that stiffen like Ginsberg **** that Shriek and Strum like Tom Waits stomach when he starves on backroad streets And when I cannot reproduce I make love to a woman And a poem is made and I kiss her and my lips say 5 am and I wish her not to go But the Dog is waken by Robins by the Pigeons by the digestion of night to day by the Greek Gods and Goddess' Light That Falls down like long hair of woman you have so longed for and you kiss her chest And there is no Death There is no Sleep or ****** addicts or gasoline or paved roads or shaved faces or mothers or Dostoevsky or Beethoven There is just her and you run your fingers across her skin through her hair She is the bottom of the Ocean You are a homeless crab a Shellless Clam falling down down down to the bed of the great ocean and there she lays With a reflection of Youth and Beauty And her complex simplicity makes me think of me as a boy running behind brick collapsed business buildings Kissing a girl behind church Buying Icecream with Josh in Winter That's what a woman does She erases Death from the palms of your hands and your thoughts and you sink to the bottom and you watch the Coral The other fish swimming along and you laugh Because you do not know Death And Death does not know you.

You know the highways, dark alleys, and short cuts of the fire. Dawn to dusk in an endless soufflé. When water hits boil I join to chop but I fall asleep, I am yet to be seasoned. When I awake I dine and dash. I apologize for treating you like digestion, for forgetting the grizzled spatula. My humility was famished my pride was stuffed. How ignorant to believe the pilot rose and fell like the sun. Spiritual starvation my consequence for self-righteous gluttony but now my plate is sparkling and I can see clear reflection, instead of a bite I desire to serve you both hand and foot as you have served me….Thank you……Jesus

“APOLOGY TO THE CHEF”
The dead-bolts on the interior doors Against the nephews most securely locked (One is destructive; the other explores) Ignored by their mother (usually crocked) The brother-in-law babbles about his bowels And surgeries over the festive spread Ignoring his wife’s disapproving scowls Detailing each grim therapy and med The puppies are safely penned inside Because of an incident with a crowbar And a nephew who kicked and screamed and cried - He wasn’t allowed to **** the dogs or bash the car His mother comforted him in his tears And glowered at me for telling him no And comforted herself with a few more beers Her special child is sensitive, you know The brother-in-law’s colonoscopy With lurid adjectives of graphic doom Comes with the pie and more iced tea His miseries circulate around the room Then from the living room an expensive crash “Not me!” “Not me!” More screams and denials and cries An old family vase – it’s now just trash “You shouldn’t have glass around,” their mother sighs The brother-in-law offers to show his scars He finds his shirt buttons, makes his move We other men escape outside for cigars Cigars!? The women uniformly disapprove One nephew leaps upon a garden seat And jumps and yells until it falls apart Their mother says her boy is cute and sweet “Are you all right, my dear little heart?” The brother-in-law holds his tummy and groans And tells us all about his flatulence And just which foods lead to what moans (Perhaps he should practice some abstinence) The women come outside to cough and choke With practiced puritan disapproval and sneers About the satanic scent of tobacco smoke The world’s best mother chugs a few more beers The brother-in-law explains why he can’t drink It’s about his digestion (be surprised) And we shouldn’t smoke; if only we’d think And we (got a match?) are properly chastised Then at the end of this mandatory day Of mandatory Hallmark merriment All of them finally go the (space) away And how did the mailbox get broken and bent? But the brother-in-law pauses at the garden gate “Say, did I tell you about my new pills…?” And so dear solitude again must wait While darkness slowly falls upon the hills

Ah! the light
Among trees i rest and wander through scriptures of olde pouring over ancient words of grace and peace of love and compassion where can this be found outside my leather bound at a green picnic bench i read and marvel at the words of Peter and Paul two thousand years removed in my semi-secluded sanctuary just off the bike path among trees i rest and wander through the works of Ezra Pound language beautifully poetic but nothing is found to my liking except of course a line or two scattered with no anchor that is how my mind rolls you see gathering bits of inspiration followed by digestion which gives birth to a renewing of my mind and soul refreshing as i ride my bicycle down the path of enlightenment aided by the words of poets, prophets, and priests culminating in fervent meditation among trees i rest and wander

Making love is the city of ruin. The worst kind of fog captures it, a fog where the streetlights are not pushing out light into the right places. Light falls only on the glossy mercedes and it's rims full of hope and wealth. The skyscrapers reach the sky and finger the underbelly of an afterlife, as if there is something to look forward to. The buses transport souls and promise, or seem too. But this is all a lie, the lights only create light, darkness grows, the skyscrapers touch the sky, yes, but they don't know a thing about goodness, and the buses are full of hopelessness. But when we make love, it is like we are only looking for the good things in the city as we get robbed blind. When I touch your belly button, I can feel your heart in your stomach, so low and so unwanting that it dropped to a place of digestion, of eating what we had and ******** it out. It is ok to realize this untruth late in the game, it is wrong to continue when we know of the untruth, and that is what we are doing, that's why I hate you and still **** you. I love the city, in its ruinous returns I keep fooling myself into thinking this is the best thing that's ever happened to me. Your ***** must be the greatest, because I'll never leave even when we call making love a city of hope when we **** and it's a dystopia of destruction.

To say! To know how to say! To know how to exist via the written voice and the intellectual image! This is all that matters in life; the rest is men and women, imagined loves and factitious vanities, the wiles of our digestion and forgetfulness, people squirming — like worms when a rock is lifted — under the huge abstract boulder of the meaningless blue sky.

Priti Patel's quote on EU migration - whatever it was... list of common surnames: cropper, cross, crouch, dabney, dalton, daniels, eads, easton, eccleston, fairclough, farnham, fay, gardner, garey, garfield, haight, hanes, hailey, ibbott, irvin, isaacson, jack, jackson, jacobs, kay, keen, kelsey, lacey, lacy, lamar, macey, mann, marchand, neal, nelson, neville... sure pati japati patel - i'll be an albino in Gujarat if your play the sitar in a sari; but your name sounds a bit migrant revealing, what a weird 'back of the bus' you seem to stand on - you want the Mongolians resurrected? i swear we were being ousted in line of what Queen Sheba said to Solomon: 'olive skinned throughout the geography and the unwelcome green men on sponged-knickers creaming for an ****** a french dessert...' yes pretty prior, you found home on a continent when half of the european nations didn't practice colonial antics - i guess it's easier to pick on them. but with a Patel surname you sound british already, the great experiment worked the anaesthetic of former colonialism numbed via recreational Ketamine use really numbed the skull and jaw mandibles - i hate, i hate being conscripted into post-colonial affairs of "why it all failed" what a waste of the urban hubs of Manchester or Liverpool - where once artistic expression thrived - i hate these post-colonial societies, it's as if they were castrated en masse, and they're wondering why no one has a permanent suntan in scandinavia - maybe the raw herring diet - cinnamon up your *** magician's trick with space between fudge of digestion, disappearing trick but then the cough that blinds you sweetly - i guess post-colonial nationalism wanted to listen to non-colonial nationalism - a former migrant like pretty plated smell olive skinned exploited inversion of angers but dunked a footstep into a trip-up with non-colonial nations - a bit like the greek bail-out - pretty patel is a name least likely associated with migration; you teasing the beast out?

Somewhere in the forest There is a paradise Hidden in a circus tent Blocked by a bramble thicket There are ways we want to live And ways we must live But a spectrum is discovered When the way we must live Diminishes the way we want to live And the way we want to live Dictates the way we must live We eat and then **** Life tastes adequate when we're dining So we keep feeding Our appetite becomes insatiable We devour what opportunity grants us Ignoring the rumbling in our stomachs Until we must face the unpleasantness of our waste Even when we're wise enough to know the effects of eating We continue eating Learning minor methods of mitigating damage to digestion It becomes hard to swallow That this is all it takes to be human As humanity's power becomes planetary Meals turn to feasts And **** piles up As the rancid fumes plague us with mental monsters We yearn for a simpler time When rations were the size of a sunflower seed And excrement exited as ethereal gas An age that never existed The way I wanted to live became the way I had to live But now that I'm living the way I have to I can't tell the difference between what I want and what I need I guess that could be a good thing Because the space between what I want and what I got Is where fulfillment is found

*we won't die for ideals we once held dear, we'll now simply die for the numbers we can simply keep, but when it comes to ourselves, we'll die to simply keep a mistook numbering in order to readdress the ideals that are no longer appreciated in our numbering a loss of a tiger's roar, and more the microscopic ant digestion auditory exploding into a h-bomb for man to imitate by number but no essential authority: since once mammoth the authority killed man, now some sub-insect (virus) can **** man.* if there's a group of people who are assumed to be possessed, then there's a group of people who are dis-possessed, and there's always the middle interval mediating sales and necessary priesthood the two polars never mediate, once the priesthood used to cradle the illiterate ones, now the priesthood uses the literacy of the once illiterate ones now literate, consecrating them with something apart from holy water, selective reading they testified to be as calm as a lake, but turbulent as a river the salmon swam against the current to spawn: the once illiterate ones now literate are taught a second illiteracy: watch the television, read the best-sellers.. this second illiteracy is worse than the original one... half of us will be water and fat... and half of us epileptic zombies enslaved by a television... i preferred the first illiteracy... at least we died for love... this second illiteracy is worth a jackal's cry and a ******* of paedophiles.

is there noon on this comparison, and where does the stabilising hour care to fathom the giant and dwarf shadows of original shapes? if there is no magnetism of the clock's hour, minute, second, then the only magnetism apparent in the encircling of digestion / decimalisation, is to say the north of a compass, the compass' north equivalence of a clock's misdirecting eternity: of space for a clock asserting a mingling reason: the compass found it's existential reason in the north, yet the clock found it's "north" without care for magnetism, it equated the north with space, and yet what was encapsulated with rotary qualities? for clock the perpetuation of tick tock in space / for the clock treated space as a one-dimensional abstract, with its three-temporal awareness, and yet the compass said north thrice, and on the fourth said Antarctica was loosened to be explored. i'm so tired - lifeless poetry, make words encoded; i'm so tired, so tiresome of other people with bellies filled and eyes in medium postponing, to compass the needle a gravity of servitude for the clock of 12 (north), 6 (south), and the disputed 9 (east) with 3 the (west), darting eyes in Bahamas for direction coarse yet coerced by a promise, thus the compass riddling a madness of constant stimulation with magnetism and the magnet cursor of orbit - wound three dimensions of time, space optional, space always optional, as ever time over-arching to be understood... where then the compass, where then the clock, if the compass led by vector of magnetism to an uncertain place, if the clock led by vector of missing magnetism to a certain place of eased: tick, tock, tick, tock... will that be equally given a wavering of east, west, east west.... north, south... what now?!

You were like breadcrumbs left unpurposely by my digestion during breakfast You stayed on the kitchen table 'til noon, 'til Mama swiped away the remaining crumbs, and I have lunch with another dish--a different meal. Something else, but not you.

*The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings, but shorter tempers; wider freeways, but narrower viewpoints. We spend more, but have less; we buy more, but enjoy it less. We have bigger houses and smaller families; more conveniences, but less time; We have more degrees, but less sense; more knowledge, but less judgment; more experts, but more problems; more medicine, but less wellness. We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too little, drive too fast, get too angry too quickly, stay up too late, get up too tired, read too seldom, watch TV too much, and pray too seldom. We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values. We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often. We've learned how to make a living, but not a life; we've added years to life, not life to years. We've been all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet the new neighbor. We've conquered outer space, but not inner space. We've done larger things, but not better things. We've cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul. We've split the atom, but not our prejudice. We write more, but learn less. We plan more, but accomplish less. We've learned to rush, but not to wait. We build more computers to hold more information to produce more copies than ever, but have less communication. These are the times of fast foods and slow digestion; tall men, and short character; steep profits, and shallow relationships. These are the times of world peace, but domestic warfare; more leisure, but less fun; more kinds of food, but less nutrition. These are days of two incomes, but more divorce; of fancier houses, but broken homes. *

Aaaaah, ***** my side-ache And ***** me inside I left my mind back a couple of days ago, I'm behind on the times Football, Meetball, Youball, eyeball Wordplay's for ******* and I'm oh so catty. What's wrong with digestion? And where's my humerus when I need it most? I have little left to say to either you or I, but I'll keep talking so it looks like I'm halfway to a quarter of insanity. I miss not touchés or is it touches? Relationships, man. What's the best of these and what's the worst of 'em? Strap me to a bomb so my thoughts get exploded for all to see. I never wanted to put you ahead of me, and that's a lie.

Aaaaand that's a lie
Close your eyes count backwards from fifty Asleep you shall fall Surely, but swiftly If that doesn't work It's okay, don't despair Count imaginary sheep As they leap through the air You need to catch some z's Your body is tired Ignore the mere fact That your mind is so wired Oxygenate your cells Don't worry, just breathe Feeling relaxed yet? Soon you'll drift to the land of dream What's that? You're still up? Perhaps you're just parched Grab a quick glass of water Then back to bed you shall march As long as you're up Might as well make a snack Digestion should wear you As the food makes way through your tract You've wasted enough time Now back to your slumber Collapse onto the mattress Slide under the covers Each day you face your demons Though at times it feels you're not winning Inhale, exhale slowly Now let's start again from the beginning
