My head swells,
with the words of wisdom,
implanted into my Cerebral Cortex.

Security Level:
Administrator.

The signal:
Never interrupted.

My hair;

my face;

my clothes.

My principal behaviour,
controlled.

My…

Volition;

Desire;

selection…

foretold,

by the scriptures of the box,
and the writings on the wall.

Ipods;

ipads;

mobile phones.

I need a new three piece suite,

so I’ve been told.

My head continues to swell,
to a monumental size,
and I feel my feet lift from the earth,

gently,

so gently…

lifting me to the skies.

As I float with acquiescence  surrender,
over the roof tops of consumption,
I gaze at all the shadows;
their cadaverous minds.

Poor souls.

I continue on my journey;

my pilgrimage of enlightenment;

my odyssey of comprehension;

my voyage of realization.

Many miles pass,
and my head declines in size.
I start to lose altitude;
and I debark...

safe,
but with cleansed mind.

The view is humbling,
and as I look down,
I behold a flower.

I sit beside it.

I admire it.

A true example,

of Design.
Time stands still for no man

Stop the train ! I want to get off !
If I can't be anything more
Then let me scold and let me scoff
Please now just open up the door

Your pretentious pretensions
Pause and place me inbetween
Take your dreams and nightmares too
I see the truth there in your gleam

Let me off at the next stop , please !
Just let me debark from this strife
I have no need of solicitations
From the perpetrators in my life

Just back away from your misgivings
Keep them all for yourself
I have no use for the falsehoods
So put your book back on the shelf

Bells call
Laughter rings
Gates open wide
No one in line

Welcome
To your entertainment
Choose a ride
Everything’s free

Seated on a painted horse
Mane chipped, buckle rusted
No warning given
The revolution begins

Up and down
Are you moving forward?
Ponies gallop ahead
You’re stuck at the end

Wait--
There’s no waiting
You tail
There’s no slowing

Until the day you’re free
Continue the monotony
Wake, work, eat, sleep
Follow the tune

In circles and circles and circles
Is this fun? Is this fun?
The same repetition
Over and over and over and--

STOP
The agony, the pain
The screams unheard
There’s no stopping

You can cry and beg
To debark and leave
It’s too bad
Exiting isn’t easy.
One from the archives. Every time I flip back and read this poem, I can vividly recollect the anxiety that ate me up during that time in my life, when it was directionless and repetitive.

Luckily, I'm no longer on that carousel, and now riding a different ride.
Straighten your mizzen and steady your oar
Set sail for the hub of your centermost core
Arrive at the middle
Unravel the riddle
Return to the One and debark on the shore
