"coverage" poems
Starting with coverage from BBC2. Brushing calm shadows into pastel hills. A rhythm paints terrain a sugary brown. Flicks of green create fauliage serene. The clean tasteless air is cotton soft. A effortless stream runs cobalt clear. Where salmon gymnastics begin each year. Squirrels practice dance routines a glamorous red. The doormice dressed and ready for bed. Continuing coverage on Ch4. The perch, the tench sat together on an underwater bench. Discussing bait and hooks whilst flicking through some fishing books. What's he eating? Mr Mole, it looks like cheese and ham on a soft brown roll. There's a chicken and a fox that live round here. Seriously, they've been dating each other for about a year. Now, if you take the next left, then over the stye. There's a duck lives there, call in and say, hi! Poetry by Kaydee.

Girls my height are supposed to be petite Skinny and proportional When I would read seventeen magazine and they would show the best outfits for your body type Mine was never on there Not big enough to be curvy Curvy girls in magazines were curvy all over and average height The petite girl wasn't supposed to have curves at all The petite girl was thin The petite girl could wear anything Why can't short girls have ******* Because when we do, we're a fetish And for some reason, when you fit a fetish people assume you're there for them. "I like short girls because you can pick them up when you **** "Short girls don't have to get on their knees." "Can you **** my **** standing up?" "A C cup on a short girl is like a DD on a normal girl.” “I like ******* short girls because I can really take control.” My mom always criticized me for wanting to dress slutty And it broke my heart because I never wanted to look slutty I just wanted to wear what my skinny friends could wear *And sometimes it's hard when you can't find high waisted shorts that cover your *** all the time, even right after you stand up from sitting in the car for 30 minutes and they rode up a little, but a little on you is a lot because you don't have a flat *** like all of your friends do, but you can't go a size up because then they're too big and they still don't give you the coverage that at first your mom wanted for you but that you now want yourself because you can feel the heat of people staring because girls like you shouldn't wear those kinds of shorts, and at parties they think it's okay to touch if it's not covered, and you've been in this H&M for 3 hours and nothing fits you like it does that tall, pretty girl with the A cups in the fitting room next to yours,* But how could my mom know that At 5 ft 4, she weighed 98 lbs on her wedding day You can wear anything when you look like that

The time sways Forth and back Through the light Happiness shines Smiling bright Everything that felt fine Now are crowded in a sack Closed, taped, not my way It kills me,little slow deaths To have them go with A part of me alive Why do the cure of emptyness Has to have an end Left with that painless ache That creates a hole deep in pain A member lost in my chaos Returned by their ignorance In the place which thy fitted Now asks for coverage It can't even be masked For they cutted it broad and wide It kills me,little slow deaths To have them go With a part of me alive. That they never feel How my elated heart smiled When their smiles were around They never cared for what I gave up in the flick of eyes Mesmerised by the sunkissed times All they did was, Find the ink to my page And filled me up with their Promising words All they did then was Give up on me When they found that I was filled up to brimm So they took away me from me With some that belonged there's And with some that I never cared. All they did was left me bereft.

Bereft
I have faith in medical science But little in practice. Straight spined doctors Racing stopwatches against Their appointment books. Extolling the virtues of thousands of years of medical research But unable to consider anyone's opinion other than their own. Kindly, soft-voiced nurses shuffling from Room to room Doling out condolences and reassurances Paired with regimens Of drugs and IVs. While Old Time in the ticking clock Slows To a dead crawl. And the noise of heartbeats on machines And discussions out in the hall And loved ones distracting and pacifying patients in beds Layer on top of one another to form a firm blanket of Crushing. Boredom. And the antiseptic smell does nothing to ease The passing of time spent waiting While the medical machine spins its wheels To the chime of slot machines. And the bustling rush outside a curtain On hard white floors, Does less than lend a sense a peace But more of frantic urgency. Minute long - task oriented visits Where they know names, numbers, and insurance coverage And they know how many steps it takes for them To lend more of their valuable time In that modern balance of cost and care. Leaving me wondering, Where did the connection go? I wonder where peoples' trust went And when it was replaced with, "How much will this cost me?"

Well I don't know if you saw me and passed on Coffee Meets Bagel a few days ago or not, but you look pretty adorable and sound interesting too, so I wanted to say hi either way! 4 weeks in Ireland sounds pretty great too - was that for work, or some other opportunity? If you had to pick between only skiing or snowboarding for the rest of your life, which would you choose? Hey! I do web work too...what do you do for the sports coverage website? No workaholism here haha, but I do work hard. Where do you like to get ****** up on a Friday night? Love the uggs on the one male stripper. Gotta get myself a pair. Aww, you and your pup look like super good cuddle buddies. It's really hard to pick something to watch on Netflix...or Amazon Prime in my case. Watching anything good now? What is there to get butthurt about on your profile really? Except for short guys, maybe. Oh, and gamers. I play games sometimes, but not excessively. What's the cooper tires thing you did? 6 pounds is tiny! What kind of dog is he, a yorkie or something? Hey, hope you're having a good weekend. Kinda feels like a golf day today based on the way this last week has felt ha. Do you play a lot? Hey, how are you liking the city and school so far? I went to an engineering school not too far away, you might have heard of it - ... Sometimes it's hard to sum up our IT jobs in a few words, but nice job ha. A constant challenge and learning something new every day is what I like about mine!

Everyone's out to outdo everyone else It's not even about meaning anymore It's how much press coverage it gets Whoever makes them "just" statistics And there's no fantasy draft yet Somewhere alone in his dark place Ruminating his environment Some bedwetting, fire starting, animal abuser Infantilized by the hatred of maternal instincts Projected on him De-evolved He likes the way she hurts him She abuses open hand words or clenched up fists of embarrassment It just fuels his homicidal tendencies His brains on the hate frequency And he's ready to let the fantasy slip Home is where the heartless host absence of emotional ghosts the boy the man the monster He lost it Family annihilator, He took his mother out last So she'd suffer through the destruction of the ******** Her wasted wish of abortion'd children. This was before the news vans This was before the first respondents This was before the society outlash Back to him alone in a dark place In the depths of his disturbing mind He sets higher stakes.

Hello this is a short message written this Sunday morning on March the first the rain keeps coming from the west non-stop for two days risk of flooding government says. I miss you - had another dream driving in sunshine. It's the sun I miss mostly - and then of course there is your friendship to treasure and to hold. I hope you're having fun on your quad. They say four wheels are better than two I'm not so sure how could you have Zen and the art of quad biking - impossible? I see you have given in to peer pressure or whatever and made your modest entry in the ******** book I had a quick look. It looks OK. Now I suppose Twitter and MySpace where you can compose even wittier sayings. You're a true master of Wisdom with a capital W But it is not that you struggle to say something wise it comes spontaneously best when blurted out immediate response like: "they throw babies in dumpsters in your country too, Janet?" She'd never forgotten it as it was such a strange and powerful thing to say by the way I googled your name and you have loads of coverage mostly under AHEC and Best. This is just a few short lines to say you are on my mind and in my heart as always yours me.

What's in a name? Let me tell you a story, Of how my life changed, And how my name changed, Every time it appeared on the newspaper. Replaced by a pseudonym, Something to do with courage, I was namelessly admired, slandered, and debated over, Media’s Exclusive Coverage! The newspaper headline read in big block letters: “14 YEAR OLD GIRL SAVES SIX KINDERGARTNERS”, That made me smile. Just maybe I thought we had come that extra mile. But no for I noticed, My name was changed, And the Printing Department was not at fault. That’s just how my country dealt with ****** assault. I never asked them to hide my name, They had presumed, of course, that I was ashamed, Of saving lives. It took me a minute to remember, I had called Jyoti Nirbhaya for years. I wanted them to know who I was, Hiding I thought was for criminals, Until I realized that I WAS one when, On returning from the hospital I saw, Pain in my mother’s, Anger in my father’s, And disgust in my relatives’ eyes. No idea why a part of me had come expecting pride. In school my “friends” guiltily refrained from talking to me, Neither were my teachers too happy to see, That I had returned to the same school, Bringing with me my painful story, Which I had mistaken as one of glory. And when I went to receive the “Bravery Award”, Only the trophy didn’t read compensation award. They looked at me with too kind eyes calling me a “hero” Their smiles told me they meant violated. As I received the award, I saw they were trying really hard, To not let it show, That they wanted me to know, The difference between: Bullet marks on the chest to bite marks on the breast, Blue around the eyes to blue around the thighs, Scratches on the fists to cuts on the wrists, Loud screams in the cold to muffled screams against the cold, The red of the torn ligament to the red of the torn ***** The difference between a soldier’s and a victim’s blood. And suddenly I felt as if I was, The rescued, Not the rescuer, The maimed, Not the fighter, The oppressed, Not the rebel, The hostage, Not the warrior, I thought myself to be. What’s in a name? Apparently, a lot.

The selenophile stares solemnly at the beautiful Selene. His long lost love hidden somewhere in that celestial body Surrounded by darkness, dashes of the stars, and the dust of gods. One eternity evolves effortlessly into two watching his wandering wife In the mourning midnight blue sky. Her ethereal skin, Her cherubic lips, Her sublime locks extending beyond the stars, For all the world to see And for all to adore. The selenophile stares solemnly at the beautiful Luna. His fair silvery sister hidden in that satellite, Surrounded by loneliness, competitive stars, and cloudy skies. One day brings an eternity effortlessly to its knees, In the mourning heart of the kin. Her exuberant eyes, Her ****** lips, Her compassionate soul dimmed by the dark, For all the world to see And for all to envy. The selenophile stares solemnly at the shadowed sky. Combing for the figure that is hidden beyond the coverage, Engulfed in darkness, blank stars, and stained skies. One day brings drab darkness to the land and In the mourning heart of the people.

We live in the unlighted state of America Where what happens when we turn the lights off Is dealt with darkness And matters of delicate touch Are treated with sharpness When our only language Is to inflict anguish We cut connections in the bedroom To clear our cynical head room For contempt and judgement People looking for a feeling to fall into Or a reason to live Must face frigid climates When the public invades privacy And ill fated ****** exploits Pervade salacious tabloids Our ****** regrets Cut the deepest Society reaps them Sowing us together with resentment We provide each other with relief But not the relief we're looking for We give each other hours of relief Until those useless hours become days And those fruitless days become years That engender endless tears As it remains warm in our car But the winter outside freezes anything that breaks the plane And our air conditioning only helps so much When the spinning wheels are in our faces There is a national coverage in the media That presents a bleak picture of the ****** health of America I feel I sit somewhere in between *** offenders and a disgusted public When I observe the observers Who are too scared shitless to ever face their own emotions Judge those for overindulging in their emotions They lived their life in fear and safety So they could be the righteous ones To admonish the risk takers and mistake makers Yet they are of the least value to humanity They're the people who grade all your answers as incorrect Without providing their perfect alternatives While trying to erase the context Because of what the context has to say about society People feeling that they can never be emotionally vulnerable Until they experience sheer desperation And no dollar contract Can replace human contact Yet we give men so much money and power And ask them to feel fine in our cold shower Until we are soiled by their intention A nation committed to selling Stella Artois A nation full of Blanche DuBois Humanity folds in on itself When we attack with *** Humanity does itself a disservice By not trying to understand these attacks honestly We forsake forgiveness And embrace desperation Until we become unbearably desperate For attention For approval For ****** contact For money For validation And sometimes our desperate desires become tangled I'd like to think of that as love And not a meeting between two practical rapists That conjoin in the middle Yet somehow come out distorted on the other side

When sleep eludes me at night And my mind floats aimless Like a sail boat idle on the sea When on my bed I lie staring vacant At the pale moon that gleams, A medley of sounds falls in my ears I hear the chirp of cicadas, the screech of bats The hooting of owls, the flutter of moths The staccato notes of the crickets And the shrill sonorous music of grass hoppers Among these and the silent music of the stars The one sound that delights me most Is the sound of the whistling Thrush Her loud song cuts through the air And mingles with the soft hush of leaves Hidden in the blanket of darkness I am not privileged to see this beryl bird To me, a Goddess of enchantment n’ magic Sometimes like a sweet secret She emerges from the depth of a ravine Sometimes she hides in the leafy coverage Of a nearby poplar tree Always she starts with a hesitant whistle As though rehearsing her own art However gaining confidence And happy over her trial attempt She soon bursts forth into 'full throated' song Creating such sweet vibes of warm feeling And producing in me an instant healing Nay, she sets my soul on fire And swallows me whole Creating in me an eternal longing To hear her pour out that celestial melody Sitting in some far fringe of Heaven To make me lose myself within myself And slosh my soul in mad ecstasy!

Nocturnal sounds
Its been a cloudy day for a few years, the sun and the darkness alternating presences, Some days its stormy like death, Others is dull and expressionless. Oh, but there are sunny days too! Accompanied by light coverage clouds, the day still has some gloom. I wish this cloud would go away, it brings so much rain and lightning without notice and leaves without a trace. But soon the next cloud rumbles in, and exhaustive cycle that never ends.

The background music sings about love that have been doomed Matching my feelings that's been in constant state of gloom Thinking if am i really worth your time Cos baby we can live separately just fine So if you are getting tired of this rollercoaster ride Feel free to leave me alone in this crashing flight And do not ever look back to check if I'm still alive Cos love a little heart attack is nothing I cant survive Tho I just wanted to remind you that there aint a moment with you I regretted But I believe I have already made myself clear even before our true love ended And about how I will treasure everything we once were That all our sweet nothings will live forever in my care So baby you can finally let our obsolete love go And be happy with someone that can truly complete you Cos kissing and crying is a very tiresome choice to do While we're just running in circles thats been long overdue So I am now officially giving up everything on you Giving you the allowance to fix yourself and let these all go Cos I'm getting tired of pretending this relationshit is true So babe you can hate me for pushing you "Yeah. You have my permission to do so." Because lets just truly be honest Im a mess which you have failed to fix The darkness you just cant resist A monster under your bed in vex Plus I am only drowning you more instead of giving you life Bathing you with dark colors and hurting you with burning light Wrapping you whole with thorns in disguise Indeed, a living calamity you need to despise But baby let us first resolve this out Before the sand in our hourglass runs out So that after our each voices fades out We cannot anymore hear names in our mouth So babe I will be the one who's leaving you first Not looking back so my piled up emotion wont burst Not looking back until you finally turned away to a different alley To give me the chance to look at your back as our world decay But before this world crumbles before our eyes I am giving you my last love letter full of good byes A full coverage of how our poor foundation of love struggles to live but dies With a closing remark saying, "thanks for all the promises I turned to lies."
