"countrywide" poems
I'm an active volcano.
Sometimes, I slowly expel
My ash and steam; then again
I erupt to litter all
With my fiery core from hell.
Sometimes I poison the air.
Other times, I castigate
Those, who would subvert my goals.
I demand sacrifices
Of innocent and guiltless.
Bring me virgins, more virgins.
Maiden's Answer:
Dearest sovereign of this mountain land,
Your humble servant, accepts your hand.
To save ken, friends, and our countrywide,
I gladly consent to be your bride
For, in a sense, I'd become your wife.
I'm vestal, as the day I was born,
My integrity is not wayworn,
My righteousness is a source of pride,
But I shall promise to be your bride,
If you may grant my one small request.
Your strength, your wisdom, are beyond compare.
You have spent an eternity there.
So, I must ask a simple query,
Before I promise us to marry.
Might you be overcompensating?

Only twenty minutes earlier,
when the lights were out and I was dreaming
countrywide somewhere
deep in leaf-strewn south suburbia a
man appeared and seemed to me to be
another elfish, presently
and when gyrating as he sang, a
mobile West of Memphis rang, of
course I knew that these things
do occur, in dreams when I am
everywhere, but finding elfish in
my dream seemed to me to be
somewhat of a
mystery and then I
left the building.

They say they savor my poetic rhymes
They say "bars!"
But plenty people 've got more bars than mine
My innocent cousin's upstate doing time
My neighbor's niece, pobrecita sleeps
In a cage for kids; She's only nine
My great grandma's in the hood, first floor
Bars blanketing her windows and her doors
Peep! plenty people've got more bars than mine
Meanwhile our nation's on its ninth bottle
Building more bars, so we will ALL drown our sorrows
'Cause of colorful communities countrywide, whispering:
"Hush Baby, don't you cry;
Say 'yes, Sir,' and comply."
"I have a dream-if-I
Simply show 'em how we sing-ify,
Sacrifice, and speechify,
Maybe they'll realize..."
We can't break the bars trapping our cries
In these cells alive
Until they break the bigoted bars trapping their minds
In those braincells of lies!
Hold it! Wait while I rewind
Imma
Erase and
Retrace
My rhyme's third line:
I say plenty people've got more bars than minds!
Plus many ***** minds mastermind more bars than mine!
Which is why...
My innocent cousin's upstate doing time
My neighbor's niece, pobrecita sleeps
In a cage for kids, she's only nine
My great grandma's in the hood, first floor
Bars blanketing her windows and her doors
...Bars!

Absent deliberate intervention
vis a vis suicide,
supposed "natural" longevity
of generic human primate ride
ding ******** across avast
broke back mountain minus pride
defies accurate prediction,
though hypothetical
projections can override
unknown factors, whereby
excluding misfortune nationwide
(and/or globally deadly accidents,
catastrophes, diseases, mudslide,
fatalities from gunshot, et cetera)
unexpectedly arise dismissing by landslide
mortal adversity can be generally,
and more accurately spell joyride
ding calibrated to continue,
thus subsequent existence,
viz getting inside
scoop of this basic fellow, aye surmise
to continue for many another hayride
say...two score plus more orbitz,
whereat linkedin, flickr ring guide
by invisible hand snapchatting
crackling and popping fireside,
twittering whatsapp pining
during eventide,
watching virtual twilight at dockside,
witnessing artificial intelligence,
perfectly mimicking
illusory edenic countrywide
vibrantly melds scenic
ideal tonic bedside
counting black sheepish crows,
thence set sleep number
putting all worries aside
while merrily rowing boat
with gentle creatures alongside.

You put the whole world
In his tiny greedy hands!
Is he the type of leader
Who truly understands?
Or does he dole out money
To friends who are foes?
Do really want to quietly wait
And see just how it goes?
Are you just fine with
Your head in the sand?
What will it take to see
This country is out of hand?
Will you be satisfied
With half the planet corrupted
As long as you have beer and
The football game uninterrupted?
Did you stop learning
When you were thirteen
What lack of due process
Can ultimately come to mean?
Did sleep through the classes when
The Constitution was taught?
Or will you blame Obama
For what your ignorance cost?
Then will you ***** and moan
When things don’t go your way
And go vote for some actor
As long as its not a black or gay?
Will you wave your Bible then,
The one you have never read,
When a modern Armageddon
Come crashing down on our heads.
Do you think this government
Is of the people or of the rich?
Do you find yourself calling liberals
A stupid, shameless sonofabitch
When they try to wake you up
That you have elected a cult
With members countrywide
That are robbing us as a result?
Are you just fine with
Your head in the sand?
What will it take to see
This country is out of hand?
Will you be satisfied
With half the planet corrupted
As long as you have beer and
The football game uninterrupted?

Hitching a ride.
Long distance for free.
Jumping round eagerly.
Pecking at crumbs.
Lunatic dashing avoiding feet.
Avoiding the through draught, of the train that's fast.
Countrywide travelling.
Safe, but sweet.
Tiny bird that hitched a ride.
Bird sweet bird.
Safe and sound.
Probably better.
Just pecking the ground.

I am living the pandemic mode
It was totally unexpected
Never in my furthest dreams
Did it occur to me that I would be going through this
Pandemic mode
It seems so unreal
Like the movie Contagion
Everywhere I look, it’s empty
Very few people are out
There’s a countrywide lockdown
Pandemic mode
Every day people wait for the numbers
Hoping to hear there’s a decrease
All around the world people hold their breath
Every person on the planet is going through this
There’s no discrimination
Pandemic mode
The definition of hero has changed
Instead of athlete or celebrity
It’s doctors, nurses, front line workers
Teachers, scientists
People keeping the world running
Pandemic mode
We stay hidden away
Unable to go out
Afraid to see another
Never knowing where the illness is
Hoping for a miracle
But patience is required
Pandemic mode
Nighttime demons appear
Offering frightening visions
Waking us from our slumbers
Having us crave the morning light
For safety and solace
Pandemic mode

All everyone hears outside
as the loud whistle intensified;
the creeping fate magnified
making us constantly reside
Here I sat next to my bedside
this wouldn't be the first time I cried
helplessly stuck inside
this was happening worldwide
All I did was hug my teddy bear and hide
waiting for my dad to arrive
wondering if he did survive
we never did get to say goodbye
My eyes felt dried
and couldn't help feeling terrified
with a thought that amplified
that he may have already died
An increasing want to lay aside
with my teddy bear to randomly confide
no matter how much I begged, it never replied
angrily launching it across the room, dissatisfied
This place wasn't fortified
but it was supplied
that was all they could provide
as everyone ran countrywide
If only our country allied
though it seemed nullified
it was now my time to decide
whether or not to commit suicide
It would be better than committing homicide
though no matter how I tried
there wasn't any emotion identified
Besides hoping that no will be satisfied
Because this is one thing that couldn't be,
Unjustified.
