"clearheaded" poems
She stopped to cry,
Over the roadkill,
She was on no substance,
Clearheaded she wept,
Crimson tears,
Through champagne eyes,
Her sweat rippled through her skin,
She grew stems with,
Rainbow leaves,
Translucent,
Placid,
Fortuitous,
She connected it all in the final second,
Compassion was carefree,
She lived and died,
Growing tired,
With tragic wings.

when we met, I was a walking corpse,
her lipstick like a mark on a map I couldn't see,
and our cigarette smoke clogged my throat,
but I figured it was better than tears
her body, another wall to drive myself into
just so I could never be clearheaded enough to remember you
but you were in every awkward silence, every insincere smile
so then, I shut my eyes and plunged in head first
and I did not resurface
for the longest time.

A Blazon sonnet?
That’s the one an
Elizabethan lover
would turn his
Elizabethan Miss
into a
list
itemise her attributes
(hidden or otherwise)
& tick ‘em off
bit by bit
like a ledger clerk
closing an account.
From the colour
of her eyes
(always had to be blue)
to the colour of her
hair(always a blonde)
from toes to ***
in one hit.
Sincere...not
the least little bit!
Yawn...stop me if you have heard this one!
A fashion accessory
for the gay young blade about town
already fallen out of fashion
before it had barely begun.
“Oi...darling! ”
“Yeah...you love! ”
“Get your ruff on
...you’ve pulled! ”
“I got 14 lines
Petrarchan or Shakespearean
...know wot I mean? ! ”
And a clever
clearheaded Elizabethan lady
would more than likely
(but politely)
tell ‘em
“Oh...f***est thou
off! ”

do you ever
think that
maybe we were just too different
to be meant for each other?
i believe in souls.
you are stuck in the mud of being clearheaded and logical
i write poetry
you get frustrated trying to get words to rhyme
i try to fill up this hole in my heart
you never had a hole to begin with
i have scars on my wrist
you tried to fix it because it felt wrong
i have so much hurt in my heart
and you
...
and you
and
well
i guess you do too.

You tune out the dark void
because of calm symbols
You wont stand still for me
without many letters
preventing a smoothing of space
After their denials are unwound
taking me clearheaded
against arctic wrath
doors thrown shut
catching clear hate inside
prevent the fish from spitting it out
and stand still against concealment
thick quilts fall away from them
hate a solid barrier
Listening to that satiated home
for eternity

RECORD: STARVE THE EGO, FEED THE SOUL
FROGMAN: b-e-a-GLITCH-ed- MO-B-i-US
Johnny's and Suzy's: Clearheaded,
enough to re-member throwse
Two roads divergent in a desert, and I—
I took the one most pondered by,
And that has made no din-fearence.
-- Robert Frost, Frogman
It's a regret-fully re-membered-trance.
And yet it teaches one that there is
Dare, or dare not.
There is no try.
-- Yoda, Frogman
"Sticking fteathers up your rutt does not get you a kick'n!"
-- Tyler Durden, Greedy Scorpion
[ . . I hear.
I see.
I dare.
I learn . .
Johnny's: Now, Dare
STOP: LOOSE THOUGHT

**Carve your name on a bullet,
The pain stings inside,
Grab the trigger and I pull it,
You're the last thing on my mind**
