"circumspect" poems
A black crow's darting eyes spans the wheat field and an orange pumpkin patch. She sees tall grasses of brown seedlings, bristling in the wind, soon to be bushels of grain and a pumpkin pie that she never savored. She sits, atop her tree perch, at times warm and storybook, hidden by tree branches, and at times out of harm's way and infamy. Her friends, the sun, and clouds in concert, dancing along. Her other friends bring alms and smiles. Life is so good at times. Down the road sits a mill next to a waterfall and a cabin, with reindeer horns hanging above the doorway. She is in her element, happy, carrying for her nestlings. Back and forth her parental eyes dart the hilly fields, a smoked filled chimney, and her babies, all crawling with sustenance and awe. Storybook. A mother feeding a worm to her baby. Storybook. Off to her side is not a blind eye watching her, scary stick figures of straw tucked under red shirts and hats, with a tied tinfoil strips dotting her eyes and tease. Scarecrows, cease. At times life is good nature, hand in hand, knock on wood. If only life could be circumspect. Than darkness filling the light and a stutter of life. For a sad page is turned, pause ... tears. Then, feathers fall. Hers. The sound of a thud. Silence and tears of her friend's swelling. A baby's cry, missing her mother. More orphaned tears. Who would be this despicable? On that rogue day. A kick of a donkey, an *** one bad rock on her path, breaks the air, as three little elementary kids were walking along to school. One, me, with a rock in his hand, taking aim at her perch and the death of the black crow's pages. I confess. ... Bless me, Father, for I have sinned it has been fifty years since my last confession ... a Tom Sawyer-like childhood gone worse. I repent. Some fifty years later I think of those first cairns, including stealing the reindeer horns and milling my brother and sister's storybook. Waterfalls stream tears, and a sorry boat rowed downstream sadly thereafter. Logan Robertson 7/25/2018

Another World
This is that blessed Mary, pre-elect God’s ****** Gone is a great while, and she Dwelt young in Nazareth of Galilee. Unto God’s will she brought devout respect, Profound simplicity of intellect, And supreme patience. From her mother’s knee Faithful and hopeful; wise in charity; Strong in grave peace; in pity circumspect. So held she through her girlhood; as it were An angel-water’d lily, that near God Grows and is quiet. Till, one dawn at home, She woke in her white bed, and had no fear At all,—yet wept till sunshine, and felt aw’d: Because the fulness of the time was come.

Mock not my indiscretions. Much can come from errored choice. lessons oft come by misdirection, So give me not the taunting voice. Ask me when I am older If my dreams have proven true. Perhaps by then shall I be bolder, Humbled e'en, maybe grateful too. Should I never reach that status Hold me not with disrespect. Ask instead how life would shape us Were we all so circumspect. Do love me please for what I am. Hold me dear for all I give you. I really do the best I can, Judge me not on what I should do.

Growing up
From the Azul sky a diving sparkling speck, An unmatched beautiful creature without circumspect, The golden leaves of spring like soldiers on parade, Dip and make way for this fair winged maid. I have so much longed to be first bite of this season, To be touched and blossomed to perfection by your reason, I grow juicy, soft and ripen as I fall for you. Tumbling into your soft Cashmere hands on cue. Salivating, I’m tasty, savour me between your teeth, Sink deep in without remorse, how delectably indiscrete! Say my name with a smile it’s so safe in your mouth. I’m tingling the roof of your brain with my flavours coming out. Take me away! as we fly, I’m cast about like an enchanted spell, Moistening your soft syrupy lips of caramel. I’m drained to sustain the iridescent colours of your gilded wings, Moved by the high passionate notes as you sing. Your smooth, probing tongue, my flesh diabetically sweet, Leaving streaks of sienna nectar on fates smeared cheeks, Wipe away before staining fabric from our black and white lives. They keep returning, stubborn like long goodbyes. Surprise! New emotions enveloping, hypnotic like Night Jasmine, Mimicking a rainwater spout so bubbly, escaping, and exciting! Your caught hopeless as a fish fly rod with a glass eyed trout Choking while love swoops silent from heaven to pluck it out. That’s when you look at my seed and you can tell. I’m good for your ego but as bad as a toadstool’s spell. So I’m placed in the first mound of mud you come across, Where you replant me sprinkled with fairy dust.

Poured upon the coldest plate Sensations I have felt of late, Oozing out in rhyme so thin To slit betwixt the blood and skin, Feelings I can best describe As mothers’ milk in ostrich hide. Feeling I can best project As crystal **** wrote circumspect. Turgid as the wrath in waves I feel my very soul depraves The values held within my breast, The turbulence portrayed at best As damnable as purple ink With oiliness of olive stink. This malady is best described As mothers’ milk in ostrich hide. Marshalg Victoria Park Tunnel 24 June 2010

Malady
Sometimes there is no rhyme … no reason We skip, break into dance. The light is fantastic. Our trippy smile complacent Circumspect is the altered state, of a world as it mutters its beat with the always of our heartfelt song. We run our fingers under the hot tap, numb gathers, swelling in ****** ripples infinite. And still there is only a sensation of love. Hindsight is the cold light of day we splash on our if onlys. We lift yesterdays garb over our head and closet it as a memory. The sun shines mourn as sad roams in displace. And while we link hands with a share of spirit; renew, everything falls unbelievably into place. Yet we know deep down, where we truly live. Sometimes there is no reason …no rhyme.

The butterfly obtains
As molecules of cellophane and plastic plate mix with cheesy mire of microwaveable dinner, I make excuse in my mind and apologize to my already over-compromised liver. It's simpler this way, or at least excusable for this moment. 56 dead in Garland, Texas, I think I can be thankful a tornado has not turned my world upside down, whilst biting down on tv dinner rations. Still I think, can 2015 end any faster? These last few days counting down and the microwave's digital display bleeping, sludge discriminating who shall be taken. It's all so guarded and circumspect. Please, if there be an element of good, may the new year know it.

Countdown On
We shall keep the poor poor. We shall be on them like a master's whip on the backs of slaves;  but they will not know us: we are too far and too near. We shall use the patois of patriotism to patronize them. We shall hide behind our flags, while we hold only one pole. We shall have the poor fight our wars for us, and die for us;  and before they die, they will **** for us, we hope, enough. In peace, we shall piecemeal them, and serve them meals made of toxins and tallow. For their labor, we shall pay them slave wages;  and all that we give, we shall take back, and more, by monumental scandals that subside like day's sun at eventide. We shall be clever, as ever, circumspect and surreptitious at all times. We shall keep them deluded with the verisimilitude of hope, but undermine always its being. We shall infuse their lives with fear and hate, playing one race against another, one religion against a brother's. Disaffection is our key;  but we must modulate our efforts deftly, so the poor remain frightened and angered, but always blind and deaf and divided. And if, perchance, one foments, we shall seize the moment and drop his head into his hands, even as he speaks. This internecine brew we pour, there- fore, into the poor to keep them drunk enmity and incapacitation. Ah, eternal anticipation! Bottoms up, old chaps! We, those who rule, shall have them always in our laps. We are, as it were, their salvation. Tod Howard Hawks

Circumspect
Before the time of Legions strong When Romans wore their tresses long, Before the ape man rose ***** To view the world as circumspect, Before the storms of red dust came To render this parched land arcane, There grew a tree of ugly norm Of massive girth and height and form, Ungainly so and so immense As to astound thee to commence, To fear the very sight beheld On Africa’s savannah veldt. The baobab rose from the plain Unearthly, in demonic name, An apparition to dismay All those who dare to come this way. Vaulting from savannah grass To clasp the heavens in it's grasp Then spread its’ limbs, as if to be, All silhouettes’ eternity. Giant Aloft in giant-less land, Far more than thee would understand, Mystic in its’ silent way Eternal as the light of day, Starkly silhouetted sight Affronting delving sunset’s might. How can a man awaken a womens love Then walk away leaving her chained to what was How does a man make a covenant of love Then run away and hide Leaving emotional wreckage at the scene of the crime Not owning up to the responsibilities Just wanting the pleasure, and no more if you please Why can't a man be more circumspect of a womens needs I am afraid and suspect that he has himself decieved It's the sociological garbage that he's been fed and believes A real man must be changed inside As the Savior (showed man) how He rears His Bride Keeping a watchful eye from the sky To look after her every need To her heavy sighs give heed On the cross He did bleed.................for her

Why Aren't Men, Men?
A stone monolith sits in the middle of a frozen field. It has seen many a eon, many civilizations fall and rise, many many years in it's cold position. Its face once that of a mighty god or a worshiped king, is all that remains. It's chiseled grimace forever juxtaposed on its stony countenance. Throughout its still existence, this grimace never disappears. All times will this grimace will endure. The snow falls down over its impenetrable skull. It bears no notice, only surreal patience, as it slowly awaits oblivion. Oblivion! All its thoughtless mind are set on it, forever counting the days it does not know with numbers it does not know. There is no comfort here. All is frozen, all is cold. It had never chosen to lay here, yet lay here it must. Eternally till it is dust, it is counting with numbers it does not know the days it does not know. It reminiscences on past events it witnessed, but does not recall. The wars, the disasters and the plagues.... It has bared through all with the same grimace as the creatures subjected to the horrors kneeled before it in reverence, offering it sacrifices and soul. It towered above these pitiful creatures, it watched with eyes that do not see as they trembled in its wake, following orders it did not speak. Ignoring prayers it did not hear. So obediently did these creatures obey what it did not say! Dutifully did they destroy their own and all around them. Faithfully did they create this ****** field of barren nothingness, thee circumspect watchers of the monolith's will. An empty scourge to what once was. Beautiful landscapes of yesteryear now turned from sprawling green to turn into frozen ash, forever recounting the final moments of misery on this lifeless realm, a misery that surrounded the monolith in its final days. Consistently reflecting off of its stone grimace before it all faded away with the last life. As the eternal years past and the amaranthine smog lies overhead, the monolith sits in the middle of a frozen field. There is no comfort here. The snow has turned to thermonuclear ash years ago. All is frozen, all is cold. It had never chosen to lay here, yet lay here it must. Quietly it does. Frozen in place, in a frozen field where nothing grows. The strong face of monolith is all that remains. The face surveys the empty landscape before it forevermore.

In Waterstones Sighing at the bestsellers opaque at the corner of my right eye two ladies late in life are centre stage amid the table paperbacks. “Are you following me?” the taller bellows brimmed headscarf towering over her NHS bespectacled sister of afternoons and shopping mornings continuing a conversation that has obviously followed them their entire friendship seeming the matriarch of the pair, she is circumspect in her contrariness. Whatever entitles her to this Guardianship of self-importance Her being a lighthouse rising above the mists condensing off beaten shards of rock is subdued by her companions’ pithy response “no-you know I have no interest in Autobiographies.”

Two aging message senders and receivers, circumspect men of reflective thoughts and words spoken, written. Wayfarers from divergent oceans converging. Both Harpooners of the unexamined life, seekers of truths and wisdom. Kindred spirits different and yet the same, A spiritual awakening, a brotherly bond in the making. Both touched and renewed by a voyage taken upon a common sea of curious self discovery.

Reflections of a Voyage Taken
For my mate Ernest W who cared.... Invisible in silky strands, a gossamer of lethal thought, Drifting through the nether regions, touching on my mind. Complication’s vagaries encroaching on the circumspect Magnifying well beyond solutions I can find. Nervous in the groundswell now, I feel it all inflating, Inflating to a curtaining beyond my self control, Waves of peristalsis in a shrill persistant keening, Locking out the sanity in holding logic’s goal. Waves of peristalsis in a bath of perspiration Panic in a rupture at the coccyx of my spine, Ravenously eating at the fabric of all reason Ravenously gnawing at this rationale of mine. ***** in a puddle on the floor beside my footwear Cloying is the stench of the ***** in my drawers, Lost are the vestiges of any thought of decency Gone is the differentiation in my flaws. Clenching of hands in a bind of blue confusion Catatonic slowness in arresting the decline, Vaccilating eyeballs are rolling for the camera And utter desolation is a flavour on my mind. Why be concerned with the shaming of tomorrow? Why come to terms with the maunderings of late? Why face the music of the mirth and derision When there’s a more practical direction to take? Glide to the realm of the smooth overflowing Slide in the slipstream oblivion makes, Slip the bonds of your sad  mortal tenure’s Awful array of destructive mistakes. Glide to the realm of serene independence Glide far away from the troubled and hard, Gone to the gossamer web of the ether Gone to the nether world’s silky facade. *...........: But what's the guts Courageous, You happy with your deed? Are your friends all overjoyed To see your suicide succeed? Is your family unaffected By the loss and guilt remorse, Your sudden grand departure leaving kids without recourse? Did you think about the aftermath? The chaos and the pain And the long term implications Of your shattered families' shame? The guilt within your partners heart, The kids who are confused And the ****** dissapointment Of your mates.. who feel abused? The mess you left behind you And the tangled web you wove And the bruising of good memories For which, you once,...had strove. Your painless, quick demise, you thought, Released you from all this..... But the sadness in the silent eyes Condemns you as remiss.* Marshalg   In an effort to understand why? ....And explain why not ! 9 December 2010 Read more: http://hellopoetry.com/poem/suicide-12/#ixzz17kzvfsTk

You have taken those apparent steps you need to be more conspicuous it seems you will not rest your tired feet for long but place them carefully next to your 'own kind' on the way with delibrate circumspect and a considered proximity you will be a clown, a horse and a child while you sculpt your climb I can only postulate you always belonged over there in a half baked circle with the well heeled . I suppose your not the only one who longs to be a parading plutocrat why you want a stamp of approval from the paradise of fools I will never really know I guess we all like a nod

Circumspect
A very firm intention To tell it as it is Has the audience attention On its toes and all afizz, Though channelled to the circumspect, With a patterned thought awry It chaotically cascades Across the prism of the eye. It chaotically discharges In a scattergun array Of verbal innuendoes Through a thin, saliva spray, And all the passion spent in telling, All the effort of the tale, Sends a barrage of confusion To occipital portrayal. Where the tiny bones of balance All atremble with the sound Have discharged interpretation Through a penny to a pound. There’s a lost extrapolation, There’s a blank look on the face Where the balance of exchange Has frittered nimbly from this place. A calmness in both parties As a sad pretence prevails, Where communication nexus Is ignored to save the whales. Marshalg Incommunicado 30 May 2012 © 2012 Marshal Gebbie
