I lie under the dream catcher and hope its power renders true.
Just as a couple stands under mistletoe hoping that a kiss will come soon.
This dream catcher hasn't failed me yet, but tonight I am not so sure.
Bad thoughts start to surface in my head.
Nothing I do can keep them out.
They forever remain hidden inside.
Dream catcher hear me now, save me from this nightmare that I live.
Save me from the pain and suffering I might give.
Dream catcher, don't fail me now.
You are all I have.
The moon has neglected me for another world.
You are all I have.
Dream catcher, take me to sleep.
I pray I wake up to another day.
Classy J Sep 2018
Used to have nightmares all the time, used to see demons in real life.
Used to think I had infinite time, used to be held back by strife.
Uh, elder made me a dream catcher when was young,
when my parents were too busy drowning in the ***,
so I admired the gangs who taught me how to hold a gun.
They told me guns was our only power, our only resistance, because reality is twisted and white man never going to give us
any **** assistance.

(Intro) How do I want to define my existence? How do I achieve My dreams? How can I love others when they scared of me and keep their distance from me? What’s the point of climbing the mountain when God struck me down before I was even half way up? How can I get over addictions when everyone else already gave up on me and won’t lift me up?

Climbing this myth, this illusion, this delusion,
trying to change but how can I?
When my people were put through crucifixion?
My mushim and kokum taught me the way of our people,
but looking back at it now I think I failed my people.

Learned different lessons like yin and yang from friends,
but it’s too late the balance is broken...
this is how our people’s story ends.
That’s just how I feel and with no home I can call my own.
So, I sleep on the streets with a bottle of patron.
Water was supposed to cleanse me, and fire was supposed to warm me, but this fire water is going to be the end of me.
When the colonists came they seemed so sweet like Juliet, but it was all a trick, got poisoned and it was revealed that Juliet was really Brutus to our Julius.
We trusted ****** and look where it got us,
we trusted the church and they molested us.
We trusted the education system,
but they beat us and told us our beliefs and cultures were blasphemous.

They spread their diseases to us, they extended court dates,
so we couldn’t defend ourselves or get reconciliation,
from past callous deeds that were pretty heinous.
Jesus save us, oh wait you brought them to us!
Pride was turned to shame, courage was turned to insecurity, yeah so much for diversity!

The ***** problem, the white man’s burden,
but we are told to just get over it and keep this **** hidden.
So yeah, my dreams and visions of becoming more is no more than an illusion.

Cultures collide and bring forth rigged constitutions.
So, a society develops assumptions and misconceptions,
and it didn’t help that my ancestors had to wait till 1960 to vote in pointless elections.

Elections to decide the next white privileged man to take power,
power that turns good man evil.
Most don’t see or want to see the levels of this status quo devil woe’s, **** ridden covert racist codes.
So, if reality is a nightmare on elm street I’d rather live life short and die quick, and kick the Lord off his high seat.
****, looks like this dream catcher turned out to be Charlotte's web.
Oh, the irony of this misdirect, I thought the dream-catcher was supposed to protect!

But I see know that when you throw out the ***** bath water you also got to throw out the crib!
So now you can see why I can’t get ahead, because white society set up an invisible blockade.
So, sorry if perpetuating the cycle is wrong,
but might as well take my token Indian status and put it into a broken arcade.
For this mountain I’ve been climbing was really a cliff all along,
and society made it pretty clear that I don't belong.
So, I have no choice but to sing my Farewell song.
For the time of the Indian is dead and gone!
Will you be my dream catcher
Residing over my bed
To protect me from my nightmares
Only letting sweet dreams into my head?

Will you be my dream catcher
Scaring away the night
Scaring away the evil monsters
Keeping me from fright?

Will you be my dream catcher
Beautiful and true
Wishing me joy and happiness
Letting only pretty dreams pass through?

Will you be my dream catcher?
Will you watch over me?
Will you be my protector
Giving me peace and serenity?

Frown upon my withered heart!
and wipe away my tears.
Catch the nightmares, catch my dreams,
ensnare my childish fears.

Protect me, Catcher, put me down
and watch me sleep to-day.
the worries they encase me,
my dream’s the price I pay.

The morning comes unfiltered
the cycle is broken for now
Oh Catcher! my Catcher!
My faithful night snatcher!
Laid a kiss on my wavering brow.
I love my dreamcatcher

Dream catcher, dream catcher
Take me away
Away to a place you and I can play
Just like we used to
Among the blades of grass
Away from the nightmares
With you they won’t last.
Be my sweet dream catcher
Whisk me away
Back to when I made you
Smile each day

i know your story and i know it well
hold the secrets you won’t tell
dream catcher, dream catcher, oh

so dare tell me a lie
as our collision draws nigh
we will sit and count all the stars in the sky

where do willow trees grow?
oh, but you and i both know
they grow where we roam
because we plant them as we go

we’ll be dancing in the dark before too long
with a match-strike smile and a killer tongue
dream catcher, dream catcher, run

i wrote a book of poetry
but it’s in a language you can’t read
take your time to find my heart reins peculiar chemistry

where do willow trees grow?
oh, but you and i both know
they grow where we roam
because we plant them as we go

your eyes reflect the city lights
your mind as vast as the stars in our sky
dream catcher, dream catcher, dare hide

the weeping willow will never hear,
how we draw so near.
the weeping willow will never know,
oh, where do willow trees grow?
tell me what you think?

Dream catcher ,
Dream catcher .
Beads in a web,
Hanging over my bed.
Strings that reach so far,
As beautiful as the starts.
But shall the beauty break,
My dreams will quake.
They could give you a fright,
Dream catcher hold mine tight.
Poetic T Nov 2014
It is Cinders upon string
Charred reminiscence of what
Kept away the
Terror,
Horror,
Bad
Dreams where caught weaved
Into its substance, sleeping, dreams
Captured upon the feathers they wisped
Them away in to the winds,
But then that dream, that moment as
My body lay still as if
Rigor mortis,
Stiffness,
Death
Looked upon me, but then as if
Grabbed by the unseen
My back arches,
Arms spread out, fingers open as if
Feathers for me to take flight,
"Then the scream,"
As my lungs petrified to breath to
Inhale
&
Exhale
That moment before unconsciousness
Then air seeps, surges in
And the dream catcher, rekindled
What was charred, feathers ash
Now hang again from twine,
Darkness tried to
Envelope,
Surround,
Suffocate
Me, within my dream
But the aura of the catcher
Breathed light
Into my mind, vanquished
That which seeded within,
I settle now, never knowing that the
Dream, darkness nestled upon me
But my dream catcher
Kept me safe from outside as well as with in.

Her
I play softball,
She comes to my game,
She starts playing softball.
I'm a catcher,
She's a catcher.
I'm first base,
She's first base.
I'm pitcher,
She's a pitcher.
I'm agrivated,
She's amused.
I'm taking lessons,
She's taking lessons.
I'm not a catcher,
She's a catcher.
I'm a pitcher,
She's not a pitcher.
Copy Cat.
I join a team,
She joins two teams.
I practice hard in my backyard,
She claims she does also.
I admit I take lessons,
She refuses to admit the fact that
She takes lessons because

She's untrusting.

Lest you want to stay

I got a dream catcher
As a gift
To dream the dream
While asleep
And make the dream
come true
While awake.

But
The irony of dream catcher
Turned out to be black
I see nightmares
Crawling back every night
I feel restless
How the dream catcher
Became a nightmare catcher?
Questioning the dream catcher!

I will be your dream catcher
As you lie under me
My net will be strong
When I set you free.

I will be your dream catcher
In the darkest of nights
No monsters or evil
Shall lurk, with you in my sights.

I will be your dream catcher
Vigilant and silent
Your happiness I will guard
It will be my eternal assignment.

I will be your dream catcher
Saviour
Protector
I will always be there to catch her.
I want to put a dream catcher on my headboard
Hoping that it will take away my bad dreams
Letting me sleep peacefully at night
Wishing that you'll kiss me goodnight.

I want to put a dream catcher on my headboard
So that I could get rid of waking up in the middle of the night
Sweating hard with untamed throbbing of the heart
And not being able to go back to sleep.

I want to put a dreamcatcher on my headboard
So that my sweet dreams won't turn into nightmares
'Cause you keep on appearing in my visions
Wondering if you have something to convey.

But if those nightmares
Were the only thing that keeps on reminding me of you
I wouldn't have a second thought
Of putting this dream catcher away...

i don't watch home movies
hate them
reason being because
when i was young
i was looking for a movie
my mother
had recorded for me
and accidentally
put one in the vcr
that i'm not sure
i was supposed to see
i know the obvious response
"uh oh, ****"
sorry to disappoint
they were only marked with dates
  1991
on live television
montel williams asks my father
"how can you just throw
your child away like a piece of trash?"

   1994
i spend so much time
in the emergency room
that my parents stop
penciling in growth marks
on the frame
of my bedroom door
i always thought
it was because they believed
i would never grow out
of this sickness
sometimes i believe
the reason that they
never bought me a dream catcher
was because they never thought
i'd live long enough
to see them come true
   1996
i am eliminated
from a spelling bee
because i didn't know
the 'dad' is silent in 'family'
   2013
before i got into poetry
i used to do standup
none of my jokes were funny
one of the other comics
tells me my skits are dry
sometimes sad
he says "why don't you joke
about something like your family?"

so i say
"i never wore any sunblock
because i didn't want anything
to keep me from my father"

i say "what do you call christmas
without lights or heat?"

before he has a chance
to answer
i say "1997. better yet
why don't you
make like a dad and
leave"

   2014
every time we drive
past the hospital
my mother reminds me
how much it cost to save my life
like she'd rather
have her money back
she doesn't have to say
that sometimes she wishes
it was me who had died
instead of my brother
i can hear it in the way
she says "love you"
sometimes i imagine
that if i were to die
that she
would pick out a casket for a child
because she never loved
the person i became
yesterday i told my father
how close i'd been
to suicide lately
and he said
"that's my boy,
livin on the edge.."

and i can't remember
if i laughed
or cried

I put the dream catcher at the head of my bed
Where bad dreams dare not treed.
It captures just my good dreams and hopes and prayers
And with the angels it is shared.
What better carrier than an angel with wings
Who can handle most anything.
Your prayers and dreams have been seen and heard
Every dream and every word.
The dream catcher must start again
Because your dreams may never end.

The Sun Catcher in my kitchen window

Twirls as it tosses light

Brightening everything it touches

Adding a sparkle to life

Catches the Suns special wonder

Brings it into my room

Plays off glasses and dishes

Dancing to its very own tune

Like lucid dreams entrapped

   A sweetest love conceived

    Trailing feathers
     billowing light as rain
       Starkness in ink

     Strings strung taut
attempting to keep all in place

to fall for someone means catching them, right?
like holden caulfield pictured it, there should
logically be someone who can catch the kids who
start to go over the cliff if they’re not paying
attention to where they’re going metaphorically.
however, the rules of love does not play fair.
a lot of times, the catcher in the rye becomes
a phantom limb. everything is disillusioned
and phony, don't let the world try to trick you.

then what kind of ******* am i pushing when
i'm pushing myself towards the cliff? do i
kiss you out of loneliness? do i miss love?

don't let the absence swallow you, or you'll
be riding for a fall—it’s a special kind of fall,
a horrible kind. i'm not permitted to feel or
hear myself hit bottom. i just keep falling
and falling. the moment i turned towards
the cliff, i was letting you crawl into my skin,
and you infected me like a plague so fast
that i could see my vision get blurry from
the sides from running towards that cliff.

all i know is i’m one of the kids in the field
of rye sprinting towards the edge of the cliff
with open eyes hoping the catcher in the rye
will rope his arm around my stomach before
i plummet. the fall i think i’m riding for - it’s
a special kind of fall, a horrible kind. i’m not
permitted to feel or hear myself hit the bottom.
i just keep falling and falling until the catcher
helps me get back onto my feet, however, i can
not pitch the ball and catch it too.

A rat catcher she would be
she smelt rodents from miles away
a female counterpart
with a body made of canvas
painting you on her mind

She will catch you and eat you
tear your limbs to bits
kitties claws are full of venom
all for the taste of you
she is the rat catcher

Her black fur and amber eyes
all rodents she does dispise
her **** does sting with rats blood
she is one hell of a killer

If you’re not the heart catcher, then please put this down
And don’t ever mention this little secret you’ve found
Though was this something you found or was it something you stole?
Don’t worry, you can trust me, I won’t tell a single soul…
Never mind! Never mind! Yes, I am going mad!
Searching the world for the heart I once had
But I still don’t know if he’s far or around
The heart catcher is clever; he does not want to be found

He’s somewhere in the mountains or over the sea
How he caught my heart in the first place, it is beyond me!
I had only seen him once or maybe it was twice
An innocent glance, and he had me enticed!
What is of my heart now, I don’t want to think of it
He probably has already sliced it all to little bits
But I’ll keep searching and searching, no I won’t give in
Though the real reason why, it is a dark sin
Because you see, when one catches your heart
He has complete power over it, all the edges and parts
The heart calls to its owner, but when it’s finally found
The owner is killed and thrown to the ground

And if you are the heart catcher, and you are reading this
I know asking for my heart is like waiting for a kiss –
Beautiful at first, so then I close my eyes
But you take that opportunity to **** and watch me die

Please, just please, can I have it back?
Oh never mind, it was stupid to even ask you that
It was also stupid of me to write this silly letter
You’ll either never read it, or read and never answer
I know you won’t care no matter what I do
You’ll destroy it anyway won’t you, oh won’t you?
So I have nothing more to say, I won’t waste your precious time
Or tire you with another of my unflattering rhymes
You were there the whole time. Right in front of me.
Hanging above my dreams and glories,
She shines like a star in my thoughts.
Turning the worst on any level of wicked upright,
She is my dream catcher.

Transfixed  I stand
in front of the sun catcher
daintily dispersing
the colors
of the rainbow
filling my heart
with poetry

The breeze makes
the reflections dance
and my kitten paws
the moving photons
in vain
chasing shadows
that will never be

Fleeting moments
of glee
caught by him and
me

Here I am,
In a long, low, valley,
On a horse, under sweltering sky.

A single trail runs East to West,
As far as the eye can see.

The sheep-skin bags,
Strung low off the saddle,
Are empty.

Bandits rode into town last week,
And made off with a couple of dreams,

Now I must know,
Which way to go,

I am the Sheriff,
The dream-catcher.
When we were kids, I'd leave my window open,

So you could crawl into my bed.

Keep me company,

And direct the dreams in my young head.

But I had to board my window shut.

Yet, you still direct my dreams, somewhat.

So I made a dream catcher.

And trained a deadly spider to spin a web inside her,

As her Dream Catching net.

To stop the deadly dream's you inspire.

And so it went.

But now, I miss the nightmares.

For at least, in them, I could admire you for being there.

THE DREAM CATCHER
(A RED INDIAN LEGEND)
         * By Raj Nandy*

The continent of North America during those
ancient times,
Were inhabited by various Red Indian tribes.
The Delawares, the Mohawks, the Choctaws,
The Dacotahs, the Omahas, the Blackeet,
The Camanches, the Ojibways and the Apaches!
They inhabited the forest, the prairies, the marsh
lands,
The great lakes, the mountains and the fen-lands!
They lived close to Nature and honored their Gods,
With the spirit of Nature all thing were fraught!
If we recall the story of "MacKenna’s Gold",
The ‘Shaking Rock’ and ‘Canyon del Oro’,
Of human greed, - breeding death, and sorrow!
Which in celluloid has often been shown and told;
Yet none could take away that Apache gold !!

Today I narrate a legend of the ancient
Chippawa tribe,
About their "magical net" for a peaceful night!
An old Medicine Man of this tribe,
Wove a ''magical net" with fine gossamer strings,
To catch the dreams as they float by!
He hung this net above the bed up high,
To filter the dreams as they float by,
During those darkest hours of the night !
This wondrous net trapped all bad dreams,
Letting the good ones pass through its netted
seams!
And as the bad dreams got entangled in the net,
The good ones descended upon the sleeping bed!
So should you come across this 'magical net',
Never argue about its price, -
Just buy the one for your bed size!
Then hang the net high above your bed,
For there is nothing to be afraid!
Since dreams shall never ever cease,
Have sweet dreams always, with a good
night’s sleep!

Friends, when few years back I was reading about the Incas of South America, and the Red Indian of North America, I came across this ancient Red Indian story, which inspired me to compose this poem! Hope you like it! Thanks,  -Raj

Everytime when she cryeth
And one of her angelic tear's fall,
A feather falleth off her wing's
Everytime her pain is recalled....

So I make mineself a clown
Just to seeith her happy,
And I giveth her one of mine plume's
To keep her smiling, uplifted, and and laughing!!!

As tis her tear's falleth, from her moon to the planet
That's how earth gets its oceans, from her watery magnet's,
So I go to those blue sea's, where her mourning hath brought floods, I collect them in a jar, to remind me of her love....

I cry in the same jar, whenever I feeleth her pain
Just because I want to connect, to mine queen every day,
So daily do I feeleth her lachrymal wailing's,
Though I'd taketh every pain, fire flooding, and DEATH by hanging....

Just to giveth her comfort, inside her trapped head
I'd telleth the king to taketh me, set her free instead...
So off with his head, screamed the universal king...
I did it for mi amour', for she's mine everything!!!!

As tis now she's happy, free and Alive upon her moon
I Gaveth that king beast mine head, for her to dance her tune,
As tis I shalt watcheth over her, yet when she thinks I'm not around....
I shalt still catcheth her tears, when her tear'***** the ground....

She would come
With the Whispers of the dark.
Would witness,
The flowers barking
And branches fighting
Would see,
The leaves of the maple
Laughing on my fears
Gossiping about my dream
They would steal hope
Every night from my soul
And I'd be left in the dark
But her hand
Full of warmth and love
Would caress my cheeks
And I , for she is too gentle
Would hold her tight
She then would make my
Nightmares turn into day dreams
She would turn black into rainbow
And make me taste ecstasy
For she is
My dream catcher

how do you know (when a broken human can be fixed)

supermarket checkout line, so lazy broken down dressed,
I’m probably arrestible for disturbing the peace,
my haired piled, and held together by a broken clip,
makeup at home in
a drawer labeled ‘why bother’
my t shirt, don’t please look too closely,
yesterday’s coffee spillage outline
only mostly gone,
and the skinny jeans that felt inappropriate
ten pounds ago,
now looking semi-completely ridiculous

is this a tv show?
wallet, a twenty and a single,
who knew a pound of ground blue mountain
cost the better part of the the twenty
in that case no need for a gallon of milk
and *** a box of chocolate frosted donuts
silently slid far far away,
evidence of a guilty plea of irresponsibility resignation

short $2.42 (cut up the credit cards)
and no convenient pit to fall into
when the teenager cashier snickers,
when a sam elliot voice says here ya are,
stammering a no, a thank you, and thinking getaway direction

truck safely, made it,
knock on the window
sam elliot soundalike is a lookalike as well
standing outside with my wallet in hand,
two heads taller than my ex-petite figurine

more stammering ******* could I look any stupider

but inside a piece of brown shopping bag torn
with ten whole digits
I’ve never seen prior to this disaster
saying call when you want to return my $2.42

turns out he got, no, he is glue and paste,
an eraser man for fine lines and sad times,
and a lasso to keep me held together,
a pocket red handkerchief hanging half out
of his back pocket, never without, calls it his tear catcher

pulled out that too tight blues-blouse
from back of my closet
that still complements my complexion,
wear it ever time that day rolls around

just dumb luck ain’t much of an answer
so I’ll rephrase, dumb luck is in the everything
cause his number was 917-242-2424
and he is a gambler in matters of the heart

bust his ***** when he says he’s a lucky man,
reply he ain’t got no luck at all
compared to me on that daft day

and every daft day thereafter
I glue his lips shut to mine, no escaping,
and paste a new $2.42
into his wallet
when he is sleeping mine,
no erasing our lines,
just redrawing them deeper and finer,
just making sure my
dumb luck is working overtime

The family bought the lie-catcher robot
(yep, the lcr HDX134)
and it was the boy
who was caught first
when his dad asked him
where he'd been all day
and he replied:
"I've been at the library all day, dad"
lcr HDX134 slapped the boy

The dad went berserk
and he said to his son:
"When I was your age, Tim -
I never told a lie!"

lcr HDX134 slapped the dad

And the boy's mom said:
"Don't be too harsh on Tim -
he's bound to tell lies;
after all, he's your son"

lcr HDX134  slapped the mom

Giggles escape between her fingers,
she breathes warm gold air,
and lets pink clouds melt on her tongue.

On a friday afternoon she paints her nails black
and they dry pink.
With her pretty pinky claw
she lines up her rainbow of skittles
and lives in each colour for a moment...

Red blooms on her favourite feather lenses

sweet Orange coats her tongue and teeth

warm gentle Yellow caresses her soft skin

fresh vibrant lively Green fills her lungs

dark seductive Blue vibrates in her ears

dangerous Violet spins her, her glasses fall

Black holds her tightly, she gives in.

On a saturday morning her black nails scratch
at the foreign bracelet on her wrist.
Squinting in the harsh light,
she gropes blindly for her
favourite sunglasses.

This bread and butter hold me closer
Everyone is looking
like a stranger
Almost every morning new
improved bread love pusher
Fresh taste and another lover
Uptown girl left her catcher of
the rye bread on used up counter
Seeing too many piano players
of Billies, she was getting a
Bread hot fever

Take me to *
Panera Bread
Cyborgs the pig and whistle
beer and nuts melted butter pretzels
The Alien like a damsel in distress
Like a heart of the shamrock
What a lucky piece Irish bread
The Queen red wine and
breadcrumbs
On her musical chair
Milk and honey not your
Unicorn Pony quick kick
then melt me in my sleep

Ancient rocks up her castle
Sipping her hot spell word
puzzle
Secrets of all tattle tales
In her coffee, he smiles with
French croissant like a sergeant
Bread melted her butter lips
The very first time she
ever saw his face
There were more excursions
but no excuses to
butter up my Prince
How our bread is buttered or so soft but sweet like out Mother and  her lovers' chef knife left her salted the stars upon them a temptation to move on soft heartedly
To be loved you feel squashed in between there is always a shining light we see them differently let's not cause such a scene

He catches rats for a living
The fine young, jolly young man
Says if you can't get rid of them
Call me, because I can

I'll trap 'em, drown 'em, poison 'em,
Hit 'em on the head
Failing that I'll fire some shot;
Fill 'em up with lead

Bedbugs, fleas, ants, pigeons in the loft
Squirrels being troublesome
Tell me, I'll stop the lot

Then he handed me a business card
Said this is me as well
So if you fancy tasty burgers
Just give me a bell
All the world's a stage the actor said
And every man must play his part
Then he rather ruined it
By letting out a little ****

And then you're sleeping -
purring kitten curled in pink DMs
all crumpled kisses and angel hair
caught in a dream catcher web.

My heart rests from braying helpless fury against my ribs
from bruising sinew and self
pouring frustration through my veins
in the ache of wanting to make it better.

I'm tracing history, yours and mine in the contours of your face.
Ballerina fingers shimmer in the laugh lines that are you.
My breath bowing to scars of battles that made you,
head cocked in awe of the woman you are.

my heart whispers a familiar promise - together.
For my best friend and soul mate Rachel whose friendship and sisterhood brings joy to my life, light to my dark times and most beautiful companionship to my journey.

Time flies like a baby fruit fly to a banana
buzzing through a brand new day through the fractal lakes
cleansing my body in peppermint amethyst vibrations
as the gyrations of the water ripple and drip down my back and waist
tickling the skin into submission--
I'm on a love mission feeling the splish-splash nefelibata mind
within my glowing gold-hazel eyes as I realize my potential.
The world isn't simply my oyster
my voice can make a difference
if I wish and believe me I've kissed Aladdin's lamp
but my mind is filled with vagary so I plant the seeds
in my magic garden and watch them grow--
burst through the ground and glowing
some like emerald embers
and others like electric chalcopyrite
as my third-eye shines and pops calico corn
crackling in the back the ideas simmer on the grill
near the chilled ZuZu Juju honeydew wine
while the electric blue hip panther cat croons
away on her guitar in ancient star languages saeng
when we were all just haranguing through the ONE-light
all bright sun's right to shine a vine of fire rays
into our future past selves
now aligned with burning designs of moons, suns and AUMS.
The animal pixie band manipulates the sounds around us--
the cicadas sing a lotus chorus while the tiger-painted rabbits rapidly
strum rainbow hieroglyphs on their magic harps
while the jazz sax racoons all dressed in jasper suede jackets
and backwards newsboy caps
play a theta vibration so meditatively
we dance in digambara dream catcher trance
of enhanced meraki enchanted atoms
and cells boiling in passionate blood.

After all the eating and dancing we play in the clay mud
recreating our animal forms and budding faces blooming
and swooning as our winged auras sling us
into the dusk sky
to sway and zoom in the rain.
later we enter Father Sky's cloud castle
for a peaceful night curled up by the azurite lightning fireplace
roasting marmalade maple marshmallows
with those rasta angel fellows token
on the diviner's sage sippin mugwort tea.
And as we third eye-gaze into and through each other
seeing our past and future time tubes
aligning into a sacred golden flower sphere,
we giggle like silly fox children
we've forgotten hours have left our pockets
cause to us it only seems like seconds have gone by...

Dream Catcher

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             Did I imagine you?
where dreams of you
flood the eyes
of a winter incarnate,

only the figment of bliss
borne of buffalo magic,

lead me to this
song of the feathers.

I did not seek it out

instead it lay me beside
a steady stream
fed by the ****** howl
of ancestors.

We are the calling of ghosts
embraced in the pouring
of seasons.

Heart of the mighty bear,
kisses of white doves
where the wild mustangs
run to greet the horizon,
pine knot,
whine not,
braid inside my hair
your lair is a
dream catcher;
catch me...

i'm falling,
wind blown

in the silence
of drums

am I to walk alone?

Night, At Night i sit.

She turns in the bed and sleeps all expression in her soft face gone,
the storm brews in the distance, dream catchers rustle in the breeze.
Memories of a distant hotel bar burn in my mind.
Drinks, soft plush velvet in which feet sank, the smell of perfume.
A silent tear falls down my cheek, the floorboards don't creek, only the dream catchers watchful hands stand protectively against the window closest to her.
The soft feathers almost brush her face, as if standing guard over the demons that often escape leaving her in a sweating nightmare.

Night, at Night i stand.

The rocking chair falls forwards and catching itself slides back into reality, the cot now takes place of the corner as fatherhood now takes mine.
The dream catchers sigh can be heard now guarding the little precious package fast asleep in a colourful world.

Night, at Night i pace,

waiting for the car lights signaling the package has returned to the sender.
My words are nothing but suddenly seem to spill over into the room in black and white, i bow my head and she still sleeps, unaware of my silent suffering.
The catcher now working it's magic.

Night, at Night i sleep.

She turns to face me and in that moment we both know.
I smile which catches her off guard.
I clasp her aged wrinkled hands and whisper words of a distant hotel bar and drinks leading us through this life.
I know the dream catchers eye watches over me now, we both lay there, contented, and as we parted from this world i saw the hands of the catcher.
His face old and weathered. He offered us his hands, and pulled us gently into the rocking lullaby of his world.
