"carcasses" poems
(Inspired by and dedicated to John Edward Smallshaw, and his "Spice") I am a summer-man, Because I'm blessed to sit by the sea. Let it and the other two Musketeers, boon companions to me, Sun and Wind, erase my discomposure as I reside in the Poet's Nookery. Let them have almost all that troubles, but not all. I am a summer-man. On the bay, on the beach, I see birth, I see death, osprey nests, carcasses of mussels and horseshoe ***** This, somehow reassuring, the cycles, this circularity, the tides and inevitability. I am a summer-man. Student of languages seasonal, Peaches, plums, cherries, poetry and loving Woman.^ This, the  summer alphabet-soup of my multiple tongues. I am a summer-man. Sancerre and Pinot Gris, super cold, Paul Simon, Nina Simone, with proper aging, getting  hotter, Salsa and Afrikaner hints, super louder, Even "Still Crazy After All These Years," that-who-wud-be-me, chills outer.^^ I am a summer-man. When ever this lad's writes appear, it proves once again, there is no truth that his   name was once Dr. Seuss In a prior life, even if each is signed by Ogdiddy Nash** I am a summer-man. **Disrespectful of the calendar, if I can, try to make summer season stretch-marks from May to October. I would add April, but the IRS is already ****** at me.^^^ Though the cherry blossoms of May now gone away, the lilies of June arrive, but but for a week or two, soon, like my mom, withered away. Acorns in August^^^^ have arrived too swiftly.** This summer, beloved, and love of summer, deep-rooted. Season of my Peter Pan Poetry Galore Festival. A love,  incapable, impossible, of ever growing old, ever growing cold, it cannot wither. It is summer heat reminders exposed, how it misses its man, that hide in the flames of the teasing, popping, reminding Winter fireplace's crackling popping***

Narcissist I Money questions hidden in cultures Instead of debates, we have the vultures They will overspend whatever their budget Destroy years hard work, their odour pungent Often called users, epiphytes of highest order Those that cannot earn sufficient to quarter Or manage their own, so they use others Spending, unfettered, is their druthers Cannot accept responsibility for damage Continue to feast on their host, they ravage Hollowing out from inside, funds they suction Weakening the structure for eventual destruction And weakened, debates then start about savings Too late, funds gone, too late for the cravings Absent conversation, leaves a bad situation Long ago, train of debate left the station What we have now is death and decay All caused by silence, as the vultures flay It will not be long until they seek a new host Just when their former home needs them most So leave they will, to claw the next poor victim Removing their talons of love and devotion Moving on, leaving behind just carcasses Warm used bodies, mark of a narcissist

Narcissist I
The thorn of the blue roses seems so red, Bloated carcasses finding their way out, The scars..can't you see it? it's still red Happy, sometimes is one in a million, Billion people, gazillion emotions Pain could be an angel, Pain could be a python

Pain
Endless stains of blood On white t-shirts On nights that scatter blue trees over black earth Alight by shooting stars The mother tells her child Unwilling to unlock the truth The truth those stars Don't grant your wishes They grab them With scarred scratching hands. Alight, The damp stitches in the soil Cemetery symmetrical to hospital Those shooting stars circling Like a vulture Speeds towards dead carcasses Still, the murdering star will not cease To break bones That have already broken To take lives That have already been taken To burn What is already charred Today smells like burnt muddied skin feels like gnawing on your own fingers for feast sounds like tired, howling machines spurring and sputtering, never-ending their onwards trek Swallowing distances and with it, nameless faces countless places Today the earthquakes of death Don't make the land shake anymore For it has learned to cope With the desolate cemeteries filled with mute bones Today burns like gasoline Looks like intestines decorating destroyed doorways Today it rains curdled crimson Tell me shooting star If the child liked  jam on his toast Did he snore? Did he like math? Or english? Shooting star doesn't know and neither the bombs. As bodies fall from trees like rotten plums. The world was born in blood And has not ceased to suckle its wounds Endless blood thirst, Endless war But not endless skin to bleed.

sign of the times
Todays sun felt lonely Drenched in isolation Melting for acceptance Draping light upon empty carcasses Feeling the gravity of the space between An embrace no one can fulfill Without the proper tools The days will be spent empty Full of giving solar flares of its former self Begging for a better understanding feeling altruism at the core

I am with you here in this place scanning with cool and radiant eyes Causing silver haired women to pantomime The Thing Thats Wrong With Us: their heads shake and their thumbs waggle in the air like worms. Our thumbs irk them, patience wearing thin as their lips. They are so sad for us, for our murderous stupidity. They know what is wrong: because our empty carcasses litter their living rooms the busses they ride the classes they teach slumped in the seats where we left them. Heidegger said that attention creates access to the world, And we've crept away to the edge dangling our attentions over the inviting precipice like the sorcerer's apprentice unsure of how it all takes place but certain of it’s awesome power. The well overflows and we are swept away as the women look on

Tear asunder the hatred and disbelief and you will find a sapling crawling under your skin digging deeper as you breathe finding its way to your heart. ------- Close your eyes and feel your pulse as it weakens every moment finding light from deep within as the blood gush and wreathe In your soul that has been rifted apart. ------- Rest your mind and think of the carcasses that has once surrounded you and how long the time has been when you pulled the sword out of its sheathe and the battle has yet to start.

Reminiscing
it's too late to fret about decisions made and ties cut, past tense. it's hard to see it without the glaring minutiae of my demise. I'm scanning the walls for a change of subject- Polaroids and butterfly carcasses, city skyline sketches and old cigarette advertisements in gilt gold frames; satisfy yourself. my mind is saturated with degenerate cogitation- a stew of pantheons and painstaking nihilism. my bones are brittle and begging to break and my eyes are growing heavy, with the weight of it all.

past tense
1. There was the tremor of leaves, a rustle of bayonet grass parried the multihued calm of dawn's smeared light. "This is what we trained for," the captain said. We hunkered behind stacked bags of sand. 2. Filigreed shafts of light pierce the bullet perforated leaf canopy, bellowed yells punctuate the swirl and buffet of turbulent air: “Contact”,  “2 O’Clock”, “Incoming”, “ "Moving”, “Reloading”, “Ammo”. 3. Fingers twitch, the grit of soil twisted through their grip; moon slashed carcasses glint, spent shells, Earth exhales a vermillion mist, rising, echoless, in this cathedral of leaves.

REQUIEM
I'm sorry If I woke you up last night My pen told me secrets in whispers And I carved scars and tales Of silly incantations and old fallen trees Of silver days in summer breeze and tattered amber sundresses Of apple bites and ripe grapes near the broken glass on the carpet; they decayed Ashes danced on my lips; sculpting poems on my skin and flicking cigarette on my wounds Smudged mascara and dulcet memories Leather fabricated journals of vintage times hiding crisp carcasses of yellow daises Euphonious chortles and early morning smiles Forgotten tea leaves in the teapot and ginger bread turning cold Sun rays, like gold dust, sparkling in the air Through the tall trees of a forest hanging on the clouds in despair First day of Spring, magical it is like a caterpillar's fate Silky cocoon, shiny chrysalis, emerging out as a butterfly Leaving as old and embracing the new Igniting the sky over my purple roof

Three-legged spider on a ***** tile Eyeball rolls, clean in hand Massive metal door opens, up top a hill Graveyard of ever-ringing cells. What's real creepy to you? Enclose the city, lock us out ..for good Condemned as doomed, living dead Big guns survive in metallic domes See the crass ******** shoot us down! Wanna talk about what's creepy, huh? Plunderers now lay down new laws Can't fight the sick, red sway Random acts of violence bay Armoured eyes see all from lofty towers. Creepy autocrats hide the truth, right? No soaring when blood runs rivers Tripping over rotting corpses Decaying stench of hope dying Help will come, we must believe! Do you believe lies to your face? Infrastructure's down, no services Power's out, no more flushing Car carcasses aflame on every corner, yet How come big brother's eyes still move? Are the gullible ones really stupid and feeble? Sun shines, but nothing grows Rain seeps red away into sewers Crops of twisted metal, hoards of guns Skeletal trees adorn our landscape. Why hold askance your glance skyward? The gates will open to let us in Surely, they witness our hardship! There must exist a life beyond this strife Uproar, bombard, gas, artillery....then no more.... Can you ever cease to have temerity? In face of adversity, calamity and injustice We should NEVER cease to be exasperated! Hope must prevail; faith must live; Thoughts expressed; love and respect must survive. The grotesque weight of human ignorance Has slain the carcasses of innocence Though I shall amplify resilience Decline its fascist pleas to vanquish No more spare **** it shall **** No severed tissues we shall tape No stealth blades puncturing the nape We're foreign to psychotic language Advance we must, cascade we shan't Supremacy's the hymn we chant Our eminence shall never slant Majority refrains to languish Not a stain of slumber peaks Bones of stark rivalry we seek © 2012 (All rights reserved)

Grotesque Supremacy
In a blind of an eye, we were flying with pigs and swimming with pigeons. Marching alongside famous carcasses and singing gospels with the Pharisees. We stood on water and bathe on the pyroclastic flow. A flock of ants gave us clothing, as the army of sheep gave us a scolding. We drank the Nile ‘till we got thirsty and Bismarcked our way into the Revolution and fought the Bolsheviks alongside Lenin. We cooked the *** cooked it right down to the marrow until we were walking down to heaven to rescue Rasputin. Overlooking eucalyptus groves, we made love, while they were out with bullets searching for a truce.

Autumn, like an Indian classical dancer, dressed up Arrives with soft rhymes and quickening steps She comes aglow, aglow with a rare beauty Dancing to the bracelet's tinkling song Her floating robe falls in deep folds around her feet As she mesmerizes all with moves full of grace Viewing the flaming colours in assorted display We are apt to wonder if Nature carefully saved up All that is best for the closing grand finale Autumn tints look enchanting all through the land With pervading green, offset by crimson, citrus yellow Flaming red, lustrous gold and a faded russet The air stays crisp and sweet in the ripening fields While stray clouds ramble in flawless turquoise sky When autumn is thus all agog like a frenzied dervish It gives us morbid pictures of death and decay The trees wrestle to free themselves of their worn cloaks Causing a cascade of withering autumn leaves Now they fall scattered in endless stream and lie in piles Like charred carcasses after a fierce forest fire The rustle of dry leaves blown by the wind Falls in our ears with the gabble of migrating birds Pale sunshine sifts through leafless trees of maple and oak All those leaves once stayed regal in stations high But now tossed out like worthless chaff They come nose diving and fall several meters below Spreading a hazel curtain over the moist earthen crust When trampled mercilessly by careless feet They silently mourn their thankless fate Graying that comes at the end of each autumnal fall Reminds us of the pall of gloom that awaits It is disturbing like the parting song of birds As they fly southward before the fall of winter

On the mud flats of Padma Delta where the mighty Ganges slides into the Bay of Bengal ships come to die. Rusting oil tankers, container ships from Panama passenger liners, and cargo ships from Zanzibar North Sea fishing boats research vessels and mother ships anything that floats each one has made its final trip. Steel Leviathans low tide beached oil-slick stuck. Metal monoliths ****** deep into black sand. The people of Sitakunda come marching, ants across the slippery surface of diesel sand to pick the carcasses apart. Barefoot, with only blow torches hammers and brute strength wrenching rivets, nuts and bolts breaching beams and deck splitting welded seams until the hulls are gutted ribbed struts broken down and torn from the edges of shape Bit by bit they scour and empty right down to the core. Bit by bit they carry ***** to the waiting shore. Where melting pots are kept boiling giant stock pots stewing goodness in a broth but metallic flavours and oily spiced stench hang in the misty bleakness of the bay Skeleton hulks shift and ride lurching, lifting with the tide rolling, dangerous still collapsing, with groaning creak to maim, to crush and **** the daring, the slow and the weak. © M.L.Emmett

Where Ships Come to Die
under the slanting rays of the December sun, silhouettes of this sin city eke loneliness, eating the timid and spitting out carcasses. its skies, ash gray the refrigerated air moody reminding wayfarers that here is no place to come seeking solace. as apathy rains sirens howl and crime soars the need to look over the shoulder more pronounced than ever before. the bottom line is everyone’s looking to make money, fast, furious and frenzied in this, my hometown- New York.

in the big apple
There are days that my heart can't take how much pain women are having to carry in their hearts all the **** time. We hold the scars close, digging at them behind closed doors and discussing it in hushed tones. Our homes are not ours. They're a minefield of memories we'd rather bury with our own walking carcasses. Then maybe, we'll set ourselves on fire in the hope that maybe, just maybe, we'll be respected in death like Sati. And then they'll say, "What a brave life she led!" Or maybe something to the effect of, "Maybe we should have heard her screaming before she even walked into the pyre."

Pyres Don't Lie
Shipwrecked heart Sea of betrayals Misconceived idioms, Blindly enslaved. Was it really worth it anyway? Fighting with hope;  a lost battle. Fallible carcasses on a wooden platter. Poisonous Ivy in my veins; silent heartbeat bursting into flames. Time is a thief, buried beneath the sea. Was it really worth the wait? Fighting for love; a lost cause. Permeable holes in an empty cup. Troubling nature, impatient thoughts. Infected, Standing aloof. Leveled indifference, taciturn blind goof. Lost chance; misleading poker glance. Arms twisted, magnificent ache. Ashes corroding the mechanical brain. Bloodbath, besieged wound. Abrasive torture, revealing the truth. Cursed fortune; insensitive to pain. Piercing a bullet through the soul, expressed disdain. Adamant rapture with no return. Imprisoned belief with no more fire to burn. By: Michael M. De La Fuente

Rotting Away
The sink clogged, with the hair I'm pulling out. The deranged dripping of the pipes on the veneer... A marvel. To see what people will do to feel like they have some sense of control... The window sill, covered in dust, paint chips, mold, The carcasses of dead flies... There is an exquisite beauty to lonliness. It's something relatable. A way of being that is attainable, but unwanted. It's just like this day,   unwanted by all. Some may though; want it. Perhaps they are simply afflicted, In need of a shoulder for their worries and a day to hold them. I don't think they would rip their hair out to do so. Not like me. Who cares? I'll just watch now, as the blood drips down the sink, on the day they all needed, when the pipes burst and dripped the mudded water onto the the fresh veneer...

Numb Enlightenment.
The ocean crashes and I dodge jellyfish carcasses, bloated, white and ****** like loose spittle, drenched across the sticky sand. I hop over this dead thing, so limp, so fragile. Then, I see it. A black shine. A giant pupil. Turn it ‘round in my hands and the rock is smooth as plastic feels when wet. Black, contrast, battered soft and hard by the tumultuous waves that had birthed it from existence into a sandy, shallow grave. Oblong, like and oval smashed, I slip the rock into my pocket, sinking pink toes into mushy wetness as the salty water laps at my thighs, chilling them.

Demonic revenge
The lonely knight wandered the endless dark valley and rotten carcasses, heavy and exhausted he continued on. He crawled away inches from death for the princess of his life, his lover, for he'd do anything for her. She was his everything. - SkullsNBones

Lonely Knight
He envisions the Machine as a large locomotive Of a deep, tainted, black metal chugging down and infinite track The eternally glowing red hot coals pushing the pistons A giant crimson cowcatcher is fixed at the front Scraping up followers; forcing them into the vehicle Manipulating Its passengers to smash their heads into the Machine Welding their minds into Its mysterious black metal walls Stained with the blood of many who have tried to resist Ultimately wounded, maimed, outcaste from society Forever marked, branded by the scars of their attempt When the Machine has used you and-or your mind to Its purose It shoves you into Its furnace—keeping the pistons turning The Machine cannot be stopped—always picking up followers Forcing you into It; becoming one with the Machine As He looks into the engine room, there is no conductor A runaway locomotive chugging down the track with no end Its only goal: gathering as many passengers as possible Society, Washington, the Media built the machine Their brainchild, but have long since become a part of It Their minds welded the deepest—becoming the foundation of Its walls Long ago abandoning their carcasses to fuel their mighty creation
