She invites me in with a therapist smile
as I step through her door
observes me with that deep blue gaze
leaving me longing for more
begs me to follow
as she moves across the floor
she lingers slightly with her touch
as she gently squeezes my hand
but it’s the warmth of her hug
that I wonder where does she begin and I end?

Truth is bitter with her scent so sweet
she doesn’t love me out loud
in this lifetime it’s just not meant to be
her love isn’t real
all images in my mind
of what I long to feel
we’re not lovers
and we’ll never be friends
but I’ll love her in breathless whispers
as the depth of my love for her has no end

I think you take my breath away.

People always say that as an endearing thing.

But I think you actually physically take my breath away.

I don't know how.

Maybe it was when you layed your head on my chest.

Or tangled your fingers with mine.

Or felt safe enough to drift off to sleep in my arms.

All I know is that I think you take my breath away.

I just wish I was surer of you.

Because I want that feeling for eternity.

But I don't think you are my eternity.

For those who know what it feels like

I hate your stupid face
Those squinty eyes, them closed lips
Your expression so emotionless
Flat and stagnant is what it drips

Those masculine eyebrows, your expansive hair
That skin void of blemishes and scars
Complexion of espresso dancing with milk
Leaving the beholder seeing stars

Empty of smiles and feelings
Your visage the definition of dry
I go seeking for some semblance of life
Through your dark mysterious eyes

So I hate your stupid face
For it is the one that leaves me breathless
Casting the root on my heart
Rendering me into a state of restless

I am a fool who fell from skies,
caught up in a ride among stars.
I lost myself one summer’s night,
in the blue grey of your eyes.

We lifted off through timeless space,
unaware of friends and places.
Looking for moons beyond our own
and rising to the unknown.

But now my king has lost his shine,
as a knight’s armor tarnishes with tears.
Leaving me to feel
discarded, breathless and numb.

Only now I see, we were both alone,
as we stood in different places;
me loving you
and you loving yourself alone.

Perfection can be deceiving
for a newly christened king.
But your queen neglected
to look inside…

the part that gives life
and love was gone,
the most important part.

P.S. a space and place for your heart.

How can I be the closest to your home, and still unknown,
How can I be the closest to the Sun, closest to the scorch,
and still have the most icy landlords in my poles,
and why can I and twilight be seen by you alone?

How come from my surface, light does not work--light does not hurt, I do not blink as I think, even as the sunset pours lava forth, and that sunset is that lie of time, as you disappear in darkness, I almost disappear in light, then the stars scream across the sky, in a geminid shower rewind, in my unblinking muse, in the solar hues, the great inferno retreats, and the slower speed of Earth I view, And I see the astrologer, with his useless scope, trying to track my path, futile as the priests trying to inven gold.
They cannot understand my core, with machines that are perfect because I am perfectly mercurial on the surface,
with the intense cold of my poles, and the intense burning solar gold of my repose,   I view  blinding light, then infinite starry night, and cold dark logic they are encased in--my deep dark basins, and the rolling triumph of my surface's relief is from breathless sandy ovation beneath.

But now is my silver region where I compose, between extremes, no ovation no gold, only metallic mercury upon the barren from faint starlight strobes.  Here is where my dark volumes are known, but  like shifting shadows with light are closed.  Then a clock strikes the hour, when my surface is reinvested with power,  the oncoming of a sunset getting louder and louder,  and in my face a cold severe place, and on my stare intense solar glare.

My theater is caused by applause, my temple is lit with pale light of long dead stars, and I crash and die young forever like my short lived geminid sparks,  In your twilight is my house, and with my intense and icy blood, I protect the memory and mystery of love.

The night was still
And so were you
My eyes were open though,
Staring at how rhythmically
you inhaled and exhaled
The life of out of me

You’ve made me believe that today I can fly, that I can touch the stars as I pass by.
You carry me past galaxies floating on clouds, wrapped in a dream and loving out loud.
The magical carpet that sweeps me away, leaves me breathless, helpless, wanting to stay
on Kryptonite, that mystic existence beyond, where time does not matter and magic abounds.

On top of a mountain on a planet beyond I cling to your safety and hold to your calm.
Can I speak of the beauty that you have shown me?  The doors you have opened, the wonders I see?
My lips cannot form the words now in my mind, the heaven you’ve brought, the expressions now hide.
The life that I knew before this was full, yet lonely and bland, bereft of a soul.

I stood all my life alone, apart without you, now you’ve come to my rescue in your red and your blue.
I look at the others who have been there before, look back at their lives to what theirs had bore,
I smile at their journeys, as they’ll never know, for the heavens I’ve reached on my ride do not show.
The best part of the journey is yet to explore, as I take to the skies on my carpet once more.

I stand here with Superman close by my side on the mountain of Kryptonite ready to ride.

Through the Looking glass
Alice stands in all her splendor.
Her hair a curtain of silver rain,
her soft skin aglow in subliminal light.

A compelling fever rises
as Thomas tries different ways to pull
her up in memory
while writing himself into the tale.
Poor Thomas delirious in his dilemma, he knows
this will be no easy seduction.
How fiercely urgent his desire rises
as he longs to end our heroine's self-imposed abstinence.

Hot April morning ambush,
and our intruder has beguiled our sweet Alice
with heated kisses sweeter than ripened fruit.
A wildness stirs in the bloodstream.
Now he slowly and lovingly explores her pristine body
as she shivers beneath his delicate strokes
until high trills rise to fevered pitch.

Pleated line of sky
muted corners softly come into focus.

Loathe to let her go,
passion stirs in his depths
slowly now he tastes her secrets,  shares her pleasure.

Tight buds of anticipation tenderly plucked,
his fingers find the stem, a measure of moisture;
Nimble fingered harmonies play pleasure symphonies
accompanied by soft echoes of youthful delight
Warm and breathless, crystal rainbows paint the inside of her eyelids as she grows sleepy in afterglow.

Soon he's torn away, his pale poet's face conveying pain
received from this  now cool disconcerting beauty;
Though he touched folds and frills of every petal,
his chapter is immediately erased and the
original story reappears.

She may have slipped down the rabbit hole,
but forever ladylike and pure is our sweet Alice.

Yellow lit talks
Beside a borrowed car
Empty parking lot
Underneath the stars

Three feet apart
We mindlessly converse
About nothing and everything
Prolix and terse

You render me breathless
My ghost lungs deflate
You exhale the stars
And I respirate

I am so tense
With minutes too swift
Too late; you’re gone
My hands must have slipped

"What’s she like?"
She’s like a summer storm—smack, boom—and then the heavens break and she surrounds you and you can’t help but dance.

"No, what does she look like?"
She looks like moonlight and meadow flowers, like breathless laughter through a silent house.

"But is she hot?"
Fire is hot and she is a supernova. Smoke stings, but she—
she is suffocating.

From a little family of three,
My mum my dad and me.
Hangs a broken little branch
From an ancient old tree,
Whose whispered little promise
From their mammies knee,
Sends a tiny little ripple
Across a ripple-less sea.

A wounded little face
Steps back from the race.
A frozen little smile,
Stands aside from the chase.
A breathless little pause,
A stinging little tear,
A desperate little prayer,
Begs the lord to be near.

dead
empty
******* shell
you
weak
lowly beast
run
away
from yourself
again
again

breathless
still
empty shell
you
meek
lonely beast
lived
and died
by yourself
that's all
that's all

dark
fading
lifeless stone
you
broken
loathsome beast
become
again
your self
become again

Brick by brick
I'm building a new foundation
In weakness and strength
I hide in fear of some of God's creation
but there are just somethings
That need to be admired
The tree's, The rivers and open oceans
The mountains that stand tall over us
But most of all I admire you

I'm hanging on every word you say
(ooh) Speechless
Hopelessly lost within your words
(So) breathless
I can't even say a word
She's everything a man dreams of
Her voice is sweet, honest and true
Oh, girl, I'm amazed by you

Struck with a new sensation
Brick by brick
I'm completing a new foundation
I'm starting to learn
She can be my medication
She makes everything better
With her dedication
Her kiss, Kiss
Has got me (Blushing)
It starts my blood (rushing)
Her sweet, Sweet taste
Has created a new flavour
She's making me feel
A little bit braver
I can try, But I know I can't win
She already has my heart
Caught in a string

I'm hanging on every word you say
(ooh) Speechless
Hopelessly lost within your words
(So) breathless
I can't even say a word
She's everything a man dreams of
Her voice is sweet, honest and true
Oh, girl, I'm amazed by you

If I could give you the stars (I would)
It's heaven on earth
When I'm with you
I feel there's nothing that I can not do.
You're so amazing, girl.
I can feel my heart racing,
the fires of love are blazing
She's a princess
that leaves me speechless
Caught up
And hung up on you
I'm trapped, in a web,
I can't break loose

I'm hanging on every word you say
(ooh) Speechless
Hopelessly lost within your words
(So) breathless
I can't even say a word
She's everything a man dreams of
Her voice is sweet, honest and true
Oh, girl, I'm amazed by you
