It ain’t like ahm a teacher ner nuthin. Ahm jess a regular person, nothin spayshul Ah ain’t no docterr of rocket science Ahm jess a working guy, and kinda playful. Ah half tah admit, ah do get things wrong And sometahms ah can make a big mess But ah do have minny, minny good points And ahm a rilly good person, irregardless. But things like writin’ readin’ and Readin’ writin’ and sech lack that stuff Ah stopped carin’ ‘bout at twelve ‘Cause ah found it more than kinda tuff. Ah mean, it ain’t lack ah ain’t never Gunna need to know reedickaluss stuff lie cat. Ahm jess gunna graduate and then Ah’ll go to work with Dad and drahve a bobcat. Ain’t nobuddy needs algebra for that Er fer workin’ at the factory line ever day either. And it sher ain’t like ahm a teacher ner nuthin. But things like writin’ readin’ and Grammer and other sech borin’ stuff Ah stopped carin’ ‘bout at twelve ‘Cause ah found it more than kinda tuff. Ah mean, it ain’t lack ah ain’t never Gunna need to know reedickaluss stuff lie cat. Ahm jess gunna graduate and then Ah’ll go to work with Dad and drahve a bobcat. Ain’t nobuddy needs algebra for that Er fer workin’ on a factory line ever day either. Ah sherr don’t need it to work digging Er runnin’ sewer lahns er plummin’ pipes neither. So, folks can jess give up on tryin’ To turn me into some kinda egghead scholar. After all, it was good enough for my dad To go to work, and work hard to earn a dollar.

Remember: That time you put a candle in an egg roll told me “happy birthday” and you were the only one singing. I was the only one listening. Candle lit dinner. Remember: That woman we stumbled into who created the world out of yarn and thread we wanted the world, but she was asking too much although not unkindly. Remember: “there’s nothing borin abo’ Texas daalin” oh what was his name- Greenberg? Graham? he had charm the way Indiana Jones has charm “Write her a poem” I tried. Remember: That monster bass I caught on a right-handed pole while you read Faith Seeking Understanding snug under your sleeping bag and yellow volleyball blanket all of it just the bait but we had both been hooked by that time. Remember: What happened next? the stars had a twinkle and the water had a shimmer the moon had a glow but not as much as you. I never told you I was freezing that night. I just had a V-neck ****** if I broke the moment though. Some things are worth suffering through. Remember: When I lied to you about being on vacation while you were in Honduras rescuing children who knew how to **** dance” lying may be a sin, but I think it made God smile if not, the smile you had waiting could be sung about for eternity. Remember: How we could argue. Fights are ugly, but I was grotesque words hit harder than my mother’s fist. While it went on, words escaped, but the ones that mattered I’m so sorry crept by unnoticed. Remember: The taste of “I Love You” On your tongue, your lips. Our unique flavor some parts fire and spice (you) Some parts simmer and thyme (me) or vice versa? Maybe a combination. Remember: Your goodnight. Goodnight. Sweet Dreams. Sleep Well. And Be Safe.

i met this girl when i was 5 years old, and what i love most she had so much soul. her vibe was cooler than rock and roll, gotta say she had me feeling some type of way i knew our relationship would grow to be big she can be aggressive at times, which i kinda dig be careful with what you say to her, cause shes got an attitude NWA would prefer. I knew she was no one to **** with like the Wu but to me shes been nothing but sweet when i truly listen to when she speaks, its almost like she makes me feel complete she exposed me to a new culture of afrocentricity, it opened my eyes to a whole new level of creativity i fell in love with the things i heard, it was her elaborate spoken word. her story is never borin', cause she be tellin' my whole life with her words like Lauryn i know we come from a different way of life, but it doesn't seem to matter cause she's just my type she had me singing songs from "hey ya", to the funky soul of de la. she picked me up when i was down, she was there for me, when no one else was around she was there to wipe my tears away, she always knows the right thing to say. she always told me what i needed to hear with her i have nothing to fear. she relaxes me when i'm around any one peer shes made me want to learn and gain more knowledge. to be honest ive learned more from her than any course in college we didn't always get along she wouldn't say it, but i could see something was wrong we just couldn't relate, emotions smothered with hate. i figured we needed a break we needed to see what others had to offer some came my way, but i still couldn't keep my mind off her. i thought maybe we were done my feelings were gone taken out by Ms. Badu with "Mama's Gun." but she reached out and we reconnected, and instantly those feelings were resurrected. I can't explain it, its like our souls are connected. i missed her intelligence, and could feel it just being in her presence i saw who i fell in love with was actually still there we don't always see eye to eye, but truthfully i don't really care we are together, and creating a better bond with each other on the list of all the things i love, she climbed her way to the Tip-Top, theres no one else above she goes by many names, but i just call her Hip-Hop
