"bewitcher" poems
In fairytales and fantasies,
My parents would always say,
That a Magician so talented,
Would someday find his way.
And what way should he seek?
In fields of dust and harrowed meek,
And in his path he should depart,
Into my beating heart.
But he is a Magician after all,
A bewitcher, a deceiver, a devil at the ball.
Who tricked and hoaxed me,
By the time of nightfall.
So curse you Magician,
And the lies you have said,
After all your trickery,
Was that you never cared.

A woman full of menace and desire;
Freckles laced upon a pale complexion,
wide eyes colored a misty sapphire,
and ink-like locks resting in opposition.
As an artist amidst her painted skin
she dreamt of love and moonlit nights,
confidence arose from a source within
while summoning her mystical insights.
Masses of books sprawled across a desk,
drawings with notes and candles afire,
a scene she considered quite picturesque;
a place of confinement in which she conspired.
A woman who is known by many monikers:
sorceress, occultist, clairvoyant, bewitcher.

Salome
The biblical histrionic
Herod’s bewitcher
Her charms proffered
Beneath the silk
Of seven veils.
The ****** of her belly
The rise of her *******
Makes an old mans knuckles
Long to knead her flesh.
Proselytized
Herod will give her a n y t h i n g
But John will never
Be hers.
His love is numinous
It transcends mere flesh
And so she is enraged.
And demands his head
On a silver platter.
Nothing worse
Than being told
You are loved equally
There was never a woman
Comforted by such words.
Tell your bride
On your wedding night
That you care for her
As much as you care for
Your mother
Your sister
And your aunt
And then while you skip
Into the bathroom
To search for your
Rubber accoutrements
She will be busy on the internet
Searching for your replacement
On Match.com.
And you won’t be able to call
Mother
Or Auntie
Or *****
for a hug.
Not while your ***** hangs limply
In its latex casing
It
would
just
look
