Slimy sea feet.
Sandy salt tongues.
Gabby gulls and cautious *****.
Boardwalk smiles and sticky ice cream fingers.
Ripened hearts and eager tide eyes.
Tears in my ears from the satisfied sun seeking silence.

This is where I belong.
This is where I know God.

I don’t belong in a town that can offer me nothing.
I don’t belong in a massive city that’ll swallow me up.
I don’t belong at silly soirees or late night parties.
I don’t belong at the top tier or down with the underdogs.

I belong on the shores.
I belong arm in arm with my confidantes, walking through downtown streets of some sweet town.
I belong hand in hand with my true companion with our toes in the sand.
I belong sipping soda with my sisters giggling endlessly as we watch some cheesy chick flick.
I belong hugging my mama who I will never stop loving for an instant.
I belong sitting with my father drinking tea in the purest, sweetest silence, for that is how we were made to be.

I belong listening to my dad’s tall tales and my mothers soothing words.
I belong holding my stomach with my face streaked with tear drops from some joke that is only funny if you were there.
I belong forever in the future with that one, the one whom was made for me; the Tilney to my Catherine.
I belong holding the gazes of my friends as we try to hold back our cackles, tears, and even our own words.

I belong in the waves of the sea.
I only belong in the happiest of salty tears.

I can’t belong where I’m too afraid to face my fears.
I won’t belong in broken gears.
I’ll not for a moment belong in heartbroken wares.

I’ve never belonged in them, but they live inside me.
They have and always will be
My demons and my skeletons
Yet you will always see them on my sleeves
So everyone can see they do not devour me.

Why must we stay
Where we don't belong?
Why must we stay
Where we don't belong?

Because there's never gonna be enough space
So eat the meek
Savor the taste
It's always gonna be a delicacy
Lick your chops
And eat the meek

Why must we stay
Where we don't belong?
Why must we stay
Where we don't belong?
Don't belong

The factory mass producing fear, bottled, capped
Distributed near and far
Sold for a reasonable price
And the people,
They love it, they feed it
Brush with it, bathe with it, breathe it
Inject it direct to the blood
It seems to be replacing love

Why must we stay
Where we don't belong?
Why must we stay
Where we don't belong?
Don't belong

Because there's always gonna be token truth
Forgotten code
Discarded youth
You know there's always gonna be pedigree
One own the air
One pay to breathe

Why must we stay
Where we don't belong?
Why must we stay
where we don't belong?

Why must we stay
where we don't belong?
Don't belong...
Eat the Meek by Nofx, just seems sorta inspirational.

Change

Verse 1
It starts right deep inside of me, a true grasp on identity
The present moment is the place to be, regardless of who's watching me
It’s plain to see, comprehensively, no real gain comes easily
Whether to the left or right of me, time in motion, truly free
To persevere is the truest reward, ride this train be truly on board
This right here to truly afford, come together, one accord
A single mind retrain able, good grades are attainable
Accomplish the impossible, you can be unstoppable
A single step to take, of directions moving on
Keep it moving in forward motion, articulate my song
With an aim of harmony, we can but soldier on
We must create a place, with a feeling to belong

Let’s begin and start a new change
For in time we truly can change, subtle change, ample change, some folks just ain’t trying to change
Aim real high towards the change
Constant force, there’s always change
Release control with all the change
For yes in time we can truly change
Smaller change, greater change
So much here to rearrange
New concepts are hardly strange
Stand united welcome change
Restoration welcome change
Conservation bring the change
Re-establish forward change
For yes in time we will truly change

There are challenges that are facing me, complex to simplicity
Teams move forward socially, share discussions vocally
To stand as one, it’s just begun
Separation can’t become
A team with victory truly won
A united cause, brought as one
Determination is the real deal, certified replacing the seal
Energy the people can feel
A new beginning, fresh appeal
A brand new chapter practical
Solutions that are workable
Greatness is achievable
Concepts are conceivable
A new journey to take, whether short or whether long
Keep on moving forward, embracing a new song
With amicability, we all will progress on
Let’s create a place, with a feeling to belong

Let’s begin and start a new change
For in time we truly can change, subtle change, ample change, some folks just ain’t trying to change
Aim real high towards the change
Constant force, there’s always change
Release control with all the change
For yes in time we can truly change
Smaller change, greater change
So much here to rearrange
New concepts are hardly strange
Stand united welcome change
Restoration welcome change
Conservation bring the change
Re-establish forward change
For yes in time we will truly change

Chorus
There is ever present change, many thoughts to rearrange
Together we can change the world, let’s rewrite the page
There are many forms of strong, yet we all must soldier on
Together as one, together as one
For each and every fight, is a chance to so unite
Every lesson in the wrong, it can be rendered right
There is opportunity, be the change you want to see
Let’s set ourselves free, let’s set ourselves free
In time, beyond the impossible
Breaking through every obstacle
By faith from the intangible
Objects, they are exchangeable
Yet lives are irreplaceable
Real change is attainable

Verse 2
To offer forth a helping hand, notions yet to understand
To be welcomed in a foreign land, disharmony is sinking sand
It’s clear to see, comprehensively, operate more tactfully
With wisdom understandably, let the innocent be truly free
A greater love that can’t be defined, to comprehend the passage of time
Appreciation truly is mine, reverence beyond the sky
Of nature undeniable, progress transformational
Advancing the responsible, of wonderment sensational
A single step to take, cultivated going strong
Keep it moving in forward motion, can we all just get along
With advancing harmony, on a road that may be long
Let’s now create a place, with a feeling to belong

Let’s begin and start a new change
For in time we truly can change, subtle change, ample change, some folks just ain’t trying to change
Aim real high towards the change
Constant force, there’s always change
Release control with all the change
For yes in time we can truly change
Smaller change, greater change
So much here to rearrange
New concepts are hardly strange
Stand united welcome change
Restoration welcome change
Conservation bring the change
Re-establish forward change
For yes in time we will truly change

Advancing with a point of view, discernment of what’s really true
Comprehension of what’s true for you, of new horizons to ensue
With a faculty of proficiency, movements of efficiency
With complex capability, time in motion, skillfully
Experience that can be applied, universal always onside
Letting go of innermost pride
Truthfulness, no need to hide
Application practical, let your goals be reachable
In him all things possible, passionately powerful
With awareness to awake, with weakness rendered strong
Keep moving in forward motion, articulate my song
With all tranquillity, uncover what is wrong
We can now create a place, with a feeling to belong

Let’s begin and start a new change
For in time we truly can change, subtle change, ample change, some folks just ain’t trying to change
Aim real high towards the change
Constant force, there’s always change
Release control with all the change
For yes in time we can truly change
Smaller change, greater change
So much here to rearrange
New concepts are hardly strange
Stand united welcome change
Restoration welcome change
Conservation bring the change
Re-establish forward change
For yes in time we will truly change

Chorus
There is ever present change, many thoughts to rearrange

Let’s set ourselves free, let’s set ourselves free
In time, beyond the impossible
Breaking through every obstacle
By faith from the intangible
Objects, they are exchangeable
Yet lives are irreplaceable
Real change is attainable

Verse 3
Let actions be effectual, real change be perpetual
Creative with the intellectual, let guidance be instructional
Be rational, co-operational, shared ideas are practical
Measuring the mathematical, alignment formational
Aiming high reach for the sky
Given standards you can defy
With courage here the aim is to try
Moving forward, mystify
Far from the undesirable, feelings unreliable
Testing the improbable, reality is changeable
A bolder step to take, of directions moving strong
You can always go beyond the place that you came from
With realised clarity, we gain sense of the wrong
Let’s now create a place, where we can all belong

Let’s begin and start a new change
For in time we truly can change, subtle change, ample change, some folks just ain’t trying to change
Aim real high towards the change
Constant force, there’s always change
Release control with all the change
For yes in time we can truly change
Smaller change, greater change
So much here to rearrange
New concepts are hardly strange
Stand united welcome change
Restoration welcome change
Conservation bring the change
Re-establish forward change
For yes in time we will truly change

Change may be uncomfortable, let fear be inexcusable
Steer from the reprehensible, payback is repayable
To so forgive, inexhaustible
Of oneness that is plausible, the broken rectifiable
Connected, relational
Associate and we can relate, don’t waste time, a pitiless state
Memories that we cannot retake, in position, get in place
Abundance that is plentiful, examples observational
Joyfulness obtainable, experience the seasonal
Of actions yet to take, we’re keeping the game strong
Keep moving in forward motion, wherever you came from
With avid harmony, we all will soldier on
We can now create a place, with a feeling to belong

Let’s begin and start a new change
For in time we truly can change, subtle change, ample change, some folks just ain’t trying to change
Aim real high towards the change
Constant force, there’s always change
Release control with all the change
For yes in time we can truly change
Smaller change, greater change

Bridge

With mind-sets evolved, there is true insight
Let’s create a place, to truly shine our light
There is wisdom to release, to regain our inner peace
Together as one, together as one
Compassion in the land, with a heart to understand
A true united force, let’s lend a helping hand
With due simplicity, re-establish harmony
Let’s set ourselves free, let’s set ourselves free
True change may be uncomfortable
Yet it is unmistakeable
New steps that are approachable
Of thoughts from the conventional
Mindful and relatable
Hopeful and aspirational

Verse 4
To go beyond, no greater time, reclaim your light it’s time to shine
In relaxed mode we will decline, natural gems can be refined
Branch of the vine, be aligned
Masterpieces of design, purposed for potential prime
Stand in line, for such a time
Become a part of the solution, let’s create a revolution
Educate the institution, truly merge into a fusion
Reduce the confrontational, join the inspirational
Movement motivational, achieve the aspirational
The journey will be great, endurance may be long
Keep moving in forward motion, can we all just get along
With solid harmony, a team can become strong
Let's now create a place, with the option to belong
Of problems to be solved, of all the games to win
If the foundation is laid, by then we can begin
A sense of harmony, let's take the vision on
Let’s now create a place, where the people can belong

Let’s begin and start a new change
For in time we truly can change, subtle change, ample change, some folks just ain’t trying to change
Aim real high towards the change
Constant force, there’s always change
Release control with all the change
For yes in time we can truly change
Smaller change, greater change
So much here to rearrange
New concepts are hardly strange
Stand united welcome change
Restoration welcome change
Conservation bring the change
Re-establish forward change
For yes in time we will truly change

There is ever present change, many thoughts to rearrange

I belong to the wilderness
and the highest peaks
to the depths of the ocean
the same language we speak

To the blossoms of spring
and the summers’ breeze
I belong to a single blade of grass
and every rustling of leaves

To endless starlit nights
and the hope rising with dawn
With every bird taking flight
I belong to their song

I belong to the love
of a soulmates heart
and to the bitter anguish
that tore us apart

To the carefree laughter
of children at play
I belong to the fear they conceal
and their hope for a better day

I belong to the infinite yearning
of my place on this Earth
and to the unknowingness
and complexity of my timely birth

To my physical features
and the boldness of my eyes
I belong to this body
and why it keeps me alive

I belong not to my emotions
nor heartache or bliss
I belong to the intricacies of wisdom
and forever trust in its abyss

Where do I belong?
I know I don't belong here,
I know I don't belong there,
I feel like I don't belong anywhere.
Where do I belong?
I feel foreign on the ground I stand,
I feel no connection with this forsaken land,
I feel longing for a helping hand.
Where do I belong?
I belong in a place where justice is in the air,
love is in the hearts,
and everyone gets a fair share.
I know where I belong.*
The ground I stand on; is steady,
It is strong.
But oh how much we would gain
If only humans where more *humane
.
I Don't belong here.
In this castle built with lies
stranded at the tallest tower
with nowhere to run
and everywhere to hide

I don't belong here
in this house of plaited gold
looking grand and innocent
the mocking oxymoron, masking
the nightmare that lay behind

I don't belong here
in this forced dream of fancy
in this perfect american family
that choked me into a whisper
complete with silent feet
and empty words

I don't belong here
stuck behind a wooden door
I closed myself
locked from the outside
with bolts of judgement
that my cowardice
won’t allow me to break

I don't belong here

So I lean my back against the gold,
and the stone and the wood
shut my eyes as tight as I could
and fought the instinct of flight
then I wished and wished with all my might
to live in the rose colored cliche
and wake to a golden carriage
with a price knocking at my door
ready to whisk me away
because I don't belong here
I’ve never belonged here
standing in plaited gold.

There is someone who I love
Someone who hurt this Christmas
And there are many others out there
Who are bereft of the brightest warmest sentiments the heart can experience

While the rest of us are ignorant of these happenings
All wrapped up in presents and drinking cheers
We fall short of being grateful for having somewhere to belong

For some the winter in their hearts is not nearly over when the holiday season is over
They are hurt from within and have yet to find somewhere to belong

It is sadness which confines me
The thought that my loved one goes sick
From within every Christmas

To think the winters in my love's soul
Are but shared by so many around the world
Yet the rest of us are careless, selfish and blinded by our needs

How many Christmases and winters would I spend in hurt and suffering
Just so that the one I love felt right at home for one Christmas night

How forgetful are we that a warm room and a petty meal
Might be a human necessity to subsist through the winter
But love and a sense of belonging is all that keeps us alive

We can not afford to not touch lives
And share our love and kindness with everyone

My loved one, if you ever fear you're alone
Don't worry God knows where you belong
If anything in my heart there is a place for you

If you feel alone you can belong with me
Strangers and enemies if you feel alone you can belong with me

Let us all be fearless in our efforts to share our blessings
We can not afford to not let others know they belong with us

It is a vicarious pain which I have come to assimilate as my own
The hurt which the one I love feels at times
And which many others feel all the same

The world is full of another type of hunger and yearning
Thus we shall not weaver in a journey
To help others find meaningfulness in their lives
And help them feel like they belong

If I could only accomplish to make the one I love feel a sense of belonging...

And if you feel like you can't make another feel like they belong
Because you yourself feel alone in this world
Please never give up the fight

Look within your self and know
There is someone out there like me
Yearning and waiting to let you know
Here...you are loved
Here...you are meaningful
Here...you belong

Look at a stranger's eyes and smile
Look within in their soul and find solace in their existence

There are more than six billion souls out there
And although on the outside we seem different
In the end we are all connected and we belong

i belong to the daybreak
when humans with sleepy eyes
and mousy morning hearts
are brave enough to face
the scarily mundane world once again.

i belong to nature
to the hidden wonders of the world
there's unknown modern hanging gardens of babylon
and the secret sanctuaries
where the teenagers of the megalopolis
go to rest.

i belong to the ocean
in the deepest trenches
no man has seen
where it is quiet and still
and darkness reigns supreme.

i belong to outer space
in the galaxies who are
strangers we'd like to know
there's dark matter that swirls
space dust coalesces
and stars are born to die all over again.

i belong to the rain
when the sky cries and
the typhoons turn to drizzle
the water runs through
empty houses and thrift stores in the gutters
and on and on, to underground,
to God knows where.

i belong to the night
to the time when the busiest people
submit to slumber
but a few who are not
bothered by lightyears
sit by their windowsills
to watch the stars.

*i belong to the world
and the world belongs to me.

Words etched in my memory
Set free amidst a cloud of feel-good vibe
That was the plan all along

to cast off the chains
ignore the blades
(they've kissed your skin enough)
and feel good

My psych textbook attributes any and all good feelings
To our need as people to belong to something
But we hold ourselves on too high a platter
And forget that there is more out there than ourselves
To belong is not necessarily to other people
To belong is to an idea
To belong is to a word
To belong is to your world
To belong is to the roads less traveled
To belong is to the path worn down
To belong is to the bustling city
To belong is to the smallest town
We are no different, no different at all from
The beings we look down upon and slaughter at whim

A greater purpose is needed.

I belong surrounded by tall trees
And babbling brooks
With green grass
And picnic lunches.
I belong in dusty bookshelves
And worn out couches
Patterned rugs
And book marks
I belong in warm living rooms
With the fireplace going
Hot chocolate in hand
And family movies.
I belong in smiling faces
And drawn out hugs.
I belong folded between
The cracks in fingers and toes
Wedged inside bright eyes
And eyelashes.
I belong in all of these places
But
Above all
I belong with you.

"Where I Belong"

Sometimes you lead me in green meadows and quiet gentle streams
Sometimes you take me into the desert for a while
I will go where you walk before me, where you lead I will follow.

Some days I feel at peace with my life
Other days I feel lost and all alone
And I'm reminded that this is not my home.

I know one day I'll find a place where I belong
I'll be home at long last, I'll be happy and free
All the people living in perfect harmony.

While I'm here Lord living for the moment
Guide me use me show me where I belong
Doing my best to serve you by serving my neighbor.

Help me with the faith to trust in your perfect plan
To believe that all is well when I just don't understand.

When I am lost and wandering you bring me back home
When I crawl back to you humble and broken
You run out to me and hug me and kiss me

And you take me back:
Back where I belong

My soul is restless until it rests in you
And that's where I belong

And one day I'll leave this space to be called home
Back to the place where I belong
Up, where we belong.

The sanctity of laws.

The torment of reality.

The crime I once committed,

redeemed by a sacrifice.

Up, where we belong

The greatest love, Him and paradise.

The greatest dream of eternity.

These I once took for granted,

It’s significance.

Up, where we belong.

The faith I grew up with.

The dignity and respect

all that matters.

These I once lost though restores

but never been the same.

Up,where we belong

The safe path, where I used to be.

The Holiness of the way, the truth and the life.

Even these I once forsake.

Recognition were made through reconciliation.

Up, where we belong.

The idea of exception.

The love against the world and the King.

These, I once torn between Us and my Faith.

Up, where we belong.

The battle of honor and humiliation.

The war against beliefs and passions.

These, I once confirmed and then denied.

In the end, where I begin.

Up , where we belong

requires Victory.

Everyone is fighting for something, and the people that listen most to the music of the universe can feel the agonies of our nature and rescue something of our earth before it’s too late… he can smell the soil he left in his drawer next to his immigration papers, he can envision the cold breeze of a summer night in one compartment of his soul and one area of his land, he forgot the keys in a back pocket of some Armani suit or some other pretentious outfit he had to put on for him to fit in the lifestyle of a multinational uprising genius. His wife feels the floors are just the same, she can read between the tiles the little lines their feet drew as they neglected their steps towards oblivion, little sentences of regret they left behind the trails along with burnt gas and crude oil. Their child always belonged, their child always belonged. The moon gazes on its universe, it sparks thoughts upon dreamers and induces muses upon reflecting sons and daughters that are willing to fight and are willing to belong at the same time. The moon looks at the misplaced societies, the Armenians within the orientalists, the Africans within the airheads, the leftists within the empty minded pocketless, the empty minded pocketless within the land that took his freedom and replaced it by liberalization and stole his freedom of thought and gave him freedom of speech no more, no less. My tips write on a keyboard that lost its touch, it was supposed to be made for those who fight for a cause, not for those lost between the many causes, it was made for those who change societies, not for those who think of that as an understatement, it was made for those willing to calculate their losses and their profits, not for those who have no capital except the pens and papers they keep aside their beds, and no revenue except the little comments they get on artistic nights in the underground. I write not in my mother language, I write not with my mother, blasphemy is not a tool for me to be heard nor a sound for me to use. I write not with my mother language,  I write not with words, I write not with grammar, I write not with language, I write with my feelings and my thoughts and my falling doubts. Falling. His head was falling as he laid it on the ground, for the gunshots are too loud for his ears, and the bullets are too hot for his face, and the missiles are too striking for his vision, and the care packages that never come may not be needed when his final rest place could be achieved by falling. His head was falling as he laid it on the ground, thanking God for his graciousness, for allowing him to leave the country, praying to God that it all ends soon, knowing it won’t, fighting. The women were fighting, over their children’s corpse, over their enemies swords, over their broken houses, over their husband’s illness, over the broken rocks they used to lure the enemy out. Fighting. The women were fighting over dresses, over the last pair of shoes, over their grandiose wedding cakes, they always belonged, they always belonged. Belong. A child belongs to a family, a child belongs to a house, a child belongs to his innocence, a child belongs to his laughter, a child belongs to a holy land, a child belongs to the smiles. Belong. A child does not belong to ******, a child does not belong to blood, a child does not belong to hunger, a child does not belong, a child does not belong in the holy land. Everyone is fighting for something, but not everyone belongs…everyone is fighting for something but not everyone belongs.

The world is hard and cruel,
It leaves many people lost;
Searching,
Wanting,
Needing,
To find their homes,
To find themselves,
To find somewhere to belong.
But the lost still struggle on,
Hoping against hope,
That one day they will belong to somewhere.
Or to something,
Or to someone.
Because to belong is everything.

The world is hard and cruel,
And filled with tragedies,
And sadness,
And death.
But still we fight on.
Because we want to.
Because we have to.
Because there is no other choice.
Because we are stuck with this world,
And we need shelter;
And safety,
And happiness.
Somewhere to belong;
A place to go to,
Or a friendly face to turn to.
So even when the world gets angry
And it refuses to make room for us,
We will stay here anyway.
Because to belong is everything.

The world is hard and cruel,
And has been against us for many years,
And for many more years to come.
But we have still survived.
We are still living,
Breathing,
Fighting,
Humans.
And we belong to a world that has never accepted us.
But we still belong.

Please, let us belong.

In a world where I don't belong,
are the faces of those I wish I could be,
and those I am glad I am not.

In a world where I don't belong,
are comments that shatter me,
and comments that make me me.

In a world where I don't belong,
are my "friends" who will never be there,
and my friends who always are.

In a world where I don't belong,
are people who wish for my death,
and people who love me to death.

In a world where I don't belong,
are things that I wish I could do,
and things I refuse to do.

In a world where I don't belong,
are the things that I cannot love,
and the things that I will always love.

In a world where I don't belong,
I hate everything,
and love anything.

I’m lookin’ for a place to belong
Where I’m not judged
And people get along
Where differences don’t matter
Am I wrong
To want to find a place to belong

I’m lookin’ for a place to fit in
Where even losers
Sometimes tend to win
So forgive me
If I say it once again
I’m lookin’ for a place to fit in

I’m lookin’ for a place to belong
Where the weak aren’t victimized
By the strong
And the meek aren’t trampled on
By the throng
I’m lookin’ for a place to belong

I’m lookin’ for a place to fit in
Where even losers
Sometimes tend to win
So forgive me
If I say it once again
I’m lookin’ for a place to fit in

Now this may strike some as
A hopeless dream
If you can’t make the cut
Or the team
But it don’t matter
How bad it may seem
Never give up
Hold on to your dream

I’m lookin’ for a place to fit in
Where even losers sometimes
Tend to win
So forgive me
If I say it once again
I’m lookin’ for a place to fit i

I’m lookin’ for a place  to belong
Where I’m not judged
And people get along
Where differences don’t matter
Am I wrong
To want to find a place to belong

To the Days I Felt Safe:
For those who
Tie knots around their necks,
With words they once heard
Sound fancy enough they choke upon their diction
You do not belong.
For those
Whos hands wave
And voices shiver,
To cover the emptiness of their words
You do not belong.
For those who-
Sit in corners
And draw airplane in their minds,
And create universes
So that their little airplane can find
A reason to fly;
And by the end of the day in school
They would learn that,
Black holes are never darker that the pits of our day dreamt creations,
And moons cannot reflect
All the rays of imagination
A little kid dives in,
Each day,
Sitting in corners,
Inspired by the spirals
On the edges of his copybooks
Because what’s in the middle of the page
Was never his concern;
He did not belong.
For those who paint their dreams
Red blue and green
On the back of their veins
While their skin is dead pale
You do not belong.
For those who find difficulties reading,
And find haven in short words
And in pauses after sentences
And in deaths after paragraphs,
And find heaven when no text book is open
You do not belong.
For those who can love
Hard enough to call it love
You do not belong-
I do not belong.
For those who are tired of their deafening surroundings,
The fruitless noises
Of teenagers who forgot how to think,
Their voices that shatter
Like ultra-violet rays
Hitting ozone layers;
Who are tired of loved ones that fail to realize,
That the beauty of their souls
Rises and falls
Twists and turns
And burns to the core of my heart,
Till it bleeds
Verses of spoken word poetry
Of words unspoken,
You do not belong.
And belonging is relative
And death- is partial,
For social circles squeezed too tight
That it’s too hard to breathe,
And our egos grew too wide
We forgot who we really are
Although we’re full of ourselves.
But our imagination; takes us away
Till we realize
How far we are
From who we could be.

Nobody enjoy dry people
Not me, guess not you
Dry places belong to dry people
Dry people belong to dry places
Dry people never find
Time to smile,
To love,
To greet,
To enjoy,
Nor to beauty.
Dry places belong to devil
Ain't dry places belong to GOD
Ain't dry people have time
For you, for me, for GOD.
Dry places belong not to waters,
Waters belong not to dry places,
Free indeed belong to waters,
Waters belong to free indeed,
Water is life
Dry not life.
Dry places nobody enjoys,
Nobody enjoys dry places,
Nobody enjoys dry people,
Dry places belong not to
Poetry heart.
Dry places are destinations where you never find peace, like dry people are sad, unhappy so nobody enjoy been around sad people. Not me, I guess not you.

Verse I
See the footprints that we're making,
some will never go away.
Living like there's no tomorrow,
think there's no price to pay.

Verse II
We slash and burn our forests,
though they make the air we breathe.
Turn our heads and close our eyes,
in this land of make believe.

Chorus
The earth does not belong to man,
the earth does not belong to man,
the earth does not belong to man,
we belong to the earth.

Verse III
The politicians tell us,
just what we want to hear.
So we won't have to know the truth,
and live our lives in fear.

Verse IV
The earth is calling out to us,
determined to be heard.
Every mountain, every stream,
every mammal and every bird.

Verse V
But we don't have to remain silent,
There's so much we can do.
To keep this earth from dying,
it's up to me and you.

Verse VI*
We belong to the earth,
it does not belong to man.
It's time we stopped and listened,
to the rhythm of the land.

Where do i belong?
in this cold dark world
she wonders as her arms slowly curl

Where do i belong?
in this unhappy place
she asks as she cries to the sky

Where do i belong?
in this miserable life
she cries ,to the beating heart, she holds inside

Where do i belong?
in this facade of emotions
she asks the mirror on the wall

Where do i belong?
in this terrifying mind
she wonders as she imagines her future

Where do i belong?
in this awful illusion
she imagines as she ends
the future of the unknown

I don't belong,
I don't believe,
I don't feel ...

This is how I was,
this is what it was like.
Before,
before my thoughts,
before I felt.
I didn't belong,
I felt outcasted.
If you can't take me,
for who I am,
then why,
just please tell me why,
should I put myself there,
in a place,
where I don't belong anymore ?

I've found better things,
a place I can be,
and never feel misplaced.
I've found better people,
who accept me for me.
So tell me now,
why in the world,
would I go back to a place,
where I just don't belong anymore ?

People change, feelings fade,
nothing stays the same.
I still consider you,
every one of you,
a friend.
Someone who's changed my life,
but I don't belong here,
so I'm going somewhere,
with someone,
where I belong.

I belong to the world.
I belong to the beauty,
To the struggle,
To the joy,
To the wrenching grief,
To the heron,
To the sparrow,
The dweller and
The homeless.
The earth and
The wasteland.
The builder and
Destroyer.
The loved and
Unwanted.
I belong to all of it and
It is mine. For now.

your eyes belong
to my undeniable stare that has infinite meanings and thousand thoughts
your lips belong
to my unbounded lust that flows out as a lovable kiss
your chest belongs
to my irresistible touch that tattoos my name and marks my reign
your ears belong
to my moans and bites from our night bed fights under full moon light

your hands belong to me to hold
I'll want them even when I grow old
your shoulders belong to me to lean
and I, forever want to be your queen
your heart that's beating
that's mine
only mine
no... I would never share
for this whole world, I swear.

Like a bird swimming in the sea
Or an anchor floating in the sky
I did not belong
I tried to find my place
But each time I felt more lost than before
I did not belong
And so I began to wonder if it was this world we lived in I didn't belong in
Or maybe it was this skin I was trapped in
Perhaps my brain wasn't assembled just right
But one thing was for certain
I did not belong
Then it hit me
My difference could rather help me excel or hold me Down
It was what I choose it to be
I may not belong
But this is me
And I can make this work
If I want to
I am a balloon In a tool shop
An open window in the sea
I do not belong
And that's okay with me
Kuzhur Wilson Oct 2013
I do not belong to anyone, leave me alone
I do not belong to anyone, leave me alone
Please, leave me alone.

When I was born, Father and Mother said
My son, my son
Our son

when I cried that day
I was loudly repeating
“Leave me, let me be, I do not belong to anyone”
No, I do not belong to anyone.

It was for the same reason
That I cried while getting baptized
Leave me alone, leave me.

I do not belong to a Christian, nor Hindu, or Jew or Buddhist
It was saying “let me be, free me” that I cried that day
I do not belong to anyone.
I do not belong to myself.

I do not belong to anyone,
Not you, not anyone

A kiss, or marriage or death
Has no right over me.
Not belonging to anyone is, life, for me

The phone in the public booth,
The computer in the cafe, the Russian ******* the road,
The cup in the teashop, the pen in the complaints register

The bus which plies from village to another village
The doctor at the clinic, the flower by the wayside, the river that flows south,
The sea which counts waves
Rain, sky anywhere, sun, moon,

Or,
A Tree by the wayside.

I-I don't fit in here
but it's not my fault
I-I don't fit your mould
but I guess I'm evil by default

so send me down to the river
see if your suspicions are true
they think i can't drown
but they don't care if i do
it doesn't really matter
'cause in their twisted view
I don't belong
I don't belong
I don't belong

I tried to cut myself down
trim away the rough edges
but I grew back sharper and stronger
broke the mould that they thought was so precious

so send me down to the river
see if your suspicions are true
they think i can't drown
but they don't care if i do
it doesn't really matter
'cause in their twisted view
I don't belong
I don't belong
I don't belong

icy water looks almost inviting
compared to what I'm leaving behind me
there's really no point in fighting
what's already been decided

so send me down to the river
see if your suspicions are true
they think i can't drown
but they don't care if i do
it doesn't really matter
'cause in their twisted view
I don't belong
I don't belong
I don't belong

I learned long ago
That we all belong somewhere.
I belong to the Hurt
To the lost
To the broken
To the depressed
To the angry
To the empty
To the hateful
To the hopeless
Who knew one day
I'd belong
To the **healed
Things get better

I belong to
The gusty
Winds, that
Whisper
Sweet nothings
To me,
                  I belong to
                  The red of
                  My roses
                  And the
                  Captivating
                  Aroma they
                  Emanate,
I belong to
The soil, and
The way it
Nurtures and
Even accepts
The dead,
                    I belong to
                    The rain, which
                    Quenches the
                    Thirst of the
                     Parched soil,
I belong to
Him, who
Loves my
Soul, despite
Of the scars
Which sullied
It, and can kiss
Those scars
Back to whole.

You don't belong to him,
he doesn't know your name.
Though you sleep beside him,
in a space you share,
your journeys aren't the same.

You don't belong to him,
he doesn't know your soul.
He hasn't held your heart,
nor deserve the love you have,
though it would make him whole.

Your don't belong to him,
though he may think you do.
And own you like a puppet ,
to dance and dangle
and play with, til he's through.

You don't belong to him,
you belong to you.
And he is missing out
on what love is all about,
one day he'll be without
a love that could be true.

with bark like alligator skin
the pines reach up up to the sky
eighty   one hundred   feet they fly their needles
as if to say
here we are O Wondrous One
take us
do with us as You will

little shake-tail squirrels chitter above me
as if to say   go away! this is our pine
you don't belong here!

I reply
I do belong here    the pines have told me so
I do belong here
the wildflowers have said so
and the creek has burbled its assent as well

I belong here   I repeat
I will stay here among the pines with alligatorskin bark
and the winds singing through the wood
and the creek seeking the sea
yes I will stay

and I will roll in the feeling of belonging like a dog rolls in herbage
and savor that I belong   I belong   here/now
at last

You belong to the lyric,
  you give life the words

You belong where before you did not,
you most need to be heard

You belong to the meaning,
  you stare into the dark

You belong to what’s not of this world,
  you rechristen the stark

You belong to what’s promised,
  you the master of rhyme

You belong to the choices you’ve made,
  you the prophet of time

You belong to the morning,
  you emblazon the night

You belong to those voices that call,
—you belong to the light

I am supposed to be fragile

A beautiful flower someone will one day pick up
Cinderella with her glass slippers
Identity is inconsequential
Strength a simple flaw

I am supposed to be quiet

Look down when you're spoken to
Never speak your mind
Delicate flower, what could you have to say?
Intelligence is merely an accompaniment
A side dish I wasn't supposed to ingest
God forbid I get fat

I am supposed to be beautiful

Tall, skinny, blonde, pretty
Full lips, narrow hips
Flawless, long hair, hairless skin

Judged, evaluated, a product on display
Pleasure for your consumption
Look pretty, shut up

I am supposed to be a contradiction

Don't be a ****, dress appropriately
Show some skin, don't be boring
Don't be such a *****, have some fun
Drink, don't be a buzzkill
Don't drink, you *****
Don't give yourself away
Don't be such a little girl

I am supposed to be this, and that, and that too
All of that because I am a woman
Well, *******.

I say, I am what I want to be
I say, ******* and your ideals of what I should be

I am not fragile
I am not quiet
Purity does not define me
I am beautiful because I think I am

I am not ashamed of being a woman
My gender is not the lesser one
I am everything a man can be
A man can be everything that I am

I don't belong to the media
I don't belong to the scrutiny of other women
I don't belong to the objectification of men
I don't belong to my boyfriend
I don't belong to my mother, my father
I don't belong to my friends
I don't belong to anyone

My mind is mine to speak
My body is mine to enjoy
My ideas are mine to spread
My words are mine to write

I am not my clothes
I am not my looks
I am not my body
I am not my face
I am not my beauty
I am not my friends
I am not my job
I am not my past
I am not my gender
I am not yours to define

I am *mine

Where is there to be
other than with you
if I’m breathing it is
where I want to be
because nowhere else
fills me with such
love than there
which is where I belong

How could I look away
if the main attraction
is right in front of me
when the only thing
worth looking at
is not to the side
of me but in front
which is where I belong

What is there to do
other than spend time
with you and smile
while doing so because
there is nothing better
to do than what I’m doing
now with you
which is where I belong

I came back
I thought everything would be simple
But nothing was.

I no longer think I belong here
But I don’t belong with my family
But I can’t go where I think I belong.

I feel so stuck
I no longer belong in Australia
Can’t belong in Thailand
No longer think my family’s home is mine
But when I think of going to South Africa
I have multiple obstacles

I’m starting to not think I have a home
Where is my home
What does it look like?
I don’t have a family home anywhere

I belong nowhere.

I’m lookin’ for a place
To belong
Where I’m not judged
And people get along
Where differences don’t matter
Am I wrong
To want to find a place
To belong

I’m lookin’ for a place
To fit in
Where even losers
Sometimes tend to win
So forgive me
If I say it once again
I’m lookin’ for a place
To fit in

I’m lookin’ for a place
To belong
Where the weak aren’t victimized
By the strong
And the meek aren’t
Trampled by the throng
I’m lookin’ for a place
To belong

I’m lookin’ for a place
To fit in
Where even losers
Sometimes tend to win
So forgive me
If I say it once again
I’m lookin’ for a place
To fit in

Now this may strike some
As a hopeless dream
If you can’t make the cut
Or the team
But it don’t matter
How bad it may seem
Never give up
Hold on to your dream

I’m lookin’ for a place
To fit in
Where even losers
Sometimes tend to win
So forgive me
If I say it once again
I’m lookin’ for a place
To fit in

I’m lookin’ for a place
To belong
Where I’m not judged
And people get along
Where differences don’t matter
Am I wrong
To want to find a place
To belong

It's not about
Right or wrong
It's about knowing
Where you belong

"Belong is a strange word
Why should I belong anywhere
In fact I don't want to
Belong anywhere

I want myself
And it belongs to me"
Nena Twedell Oct 2014
During the day a smile will get me by
Let me hide the darkness I hold inside
I'll pretend that I am meant to be with the living
When the sun is up I'll live the double life a while longer
But with the living is now where I belong

In the cemetery
6 feet below is where my name is marked
In there cemetery
Where I don't have to explain the feeling on the inside
Where I'll never have to hide the darkness inside of me
I'll smile in the sunlight for a little longer
Try to make it the real me
But the cemetery is where I truly belong
6 feet under where I don't have to explain the darkness inside
In the cemetery
Where the only judgment around me is my own
That's where I belong

I NEVER BELONGED HERE
ALOT OF US NEVER DID
OUR FACES AREN'T REAL
THEY'RE WALLS WE HIDE BEHIND
WE DON'T BELONG HERE
WE JUST WATCH THE REST
OBSERVE TO SEE HOW TO ACT
WE DON'T BELONG HERE
BUT YOU WOULD NEVER GUESS
HOW MANY OF US WALK AMONG YOU
