Do you know what is common?
Anger.
Hate.
Sadness.
Disgust.
Judgment.

I am not strong
enough to tell
you that
its easy to
stick with
happy.
Sometimes happiness
can be the most
exhausting
emotion.
Happy
has no wiggle room
you either are
or you
aren’t.

I am not strong
enough
to tell
you that
its easy to
stick with
love.
Hearts
don’t heal
easy.
Some take
years
and even then
they’re still
tender.

I am strong
enough
to tell
you that
sad is
to difficult
a burden to
bear.
Sadness
wears on your
bones
like barbels.
It gets so
hard to
keep up.
Sadness
clouds your
mind
until all that’s left
are burnt
edges and a
few remnants
of happiness.

I am strong
enough
to tell
you that
love
will heal you.
Love will
straighten your
spine.
You will
see life
with a clear head
and a full heart.

I don’t
care to be
common

I have wishes to grant,
Stories to finish.
Dreams that are still waiting to come true.

I have nothing.

I have jokes with no punchline
No breath to breathe into my proteges,
Nothing to give to my lovers.

Bread and bridles debriding spittle
and little glass lentils made of starch and silica salt.

Bent
Tilted
Wrended and upended on a layer of greasy catfish.
I wish I were so slimy
And licked about with my whiskers out of me.

My meaty barbels are my eyes when I can't see.
a freshwater fish
in Africa, in Asia
barbels near mouth, loach

I just can't sleep on some things
on certain nights*
especially that one thing
about hearts being
intertwined
some with barbels,
and some with warmth
it's just a matter of fate
to find the one
*which ache

From the mind of men, we birthed the dragons – Mystical beings with all the best attributes in the animal kingdom. To list a few, these almighty creatures have the talons of an eagle, body of a serpent and barbels of a catfish. Air, land, and sea, the Seraphim Lord over everything and everyone not counting one in the Kingdom of Heaven and for reasons they choose to perch alone high up in the mountains, encircled by all the riches of this world. Of those riches is Gold, now Gold’s a precious element because it’s a good conductor of electricity. Like an antenna, I think that it served to amplify their influence by many folds.

Though the great drakes bathe in the light of the Crescent moon, roaming freely as they please - ruling over the hearts and minds of men with absolute authority. They provide us with sacred knowledge when we put faith and devotion upon the stations of the Cross teaching us the secrets of the universe, guiding us through civilization.

The history books make a point with fantastical stories about the age of iron and steel; many brutal wars were fought until squares of men marched together to free themselves from tyranny, removing Gold from high places, or perhaps the dragons simply vanished and let us have it. Nowadays, dragons exist only in our memories, serving as a metaphor for the divine. Gold is locked away in vaults across the globe, but you cannot turn off the Holy Spirit. I believe that there are still many battles to be had over precious resources because we are children of the spiral, and our home is the stars.
